Details, details, details! You won't believe it. They thought of everything on this ride, and it's spectacular. The special effects are amazing. Interesting and alluring from start to finish. Can't say enough good things about this ride.
I am reminded of Disney World everywhere I go. I cannot get enough of it! This section of The Magic Kingdom is a perfect example. The theming is just perfect. The atmosphere is relaxing to me. I can close my eyes and hear the music playing and smell the food. It's a beautiful place, probably my favorite part of the MK. Of course, it doesn't hurt that it holds 2 terrific coasters, Splash Mountain and Big Thunder Mountain Railroad! :)
I've been on a lot, and it's not always about the extreme highs, veritical drops, and loop after loop. It's about a solid, fun experience full of surprises and of course, Disney detail. This ride is amazing. Went 6 times in a row last year with no wait, I was in Heaven! I don't care if the Yeti is working or not (though it would be a sweet bonus if it was!).
It's a masterpiece. A perfect symbol of everything there is to love about WDW.
Needs a little updating when it reaches the modern day, but an other perfect ride that will always remind me of my first trip to WDW in 2009. I was blown away by the whole experience, and this attraction is a very special part of that. There's always a great big beautiful tomorrow if you're going to be at Disney World!
I don't like saying there is anything about WDW that I hate, but I gotta go there with this "ride". Not the least bit entertaining. Boring, annoying, and just plain stupid. What a waste of space... I really wish they'd put something worthwhile in that spot, it's a prime location in Fantasyland!
I liked this show a lot, and it really educates you. However it's a less exzciting attraction and I wouldn't call it a MUST do for families.
This ride sucks. It is HORRIBLE. You just wait in line to get to this ride where all you do is sit down in the dark with this horrible smell being sprayed around the room. This NEEDS to go.
I honestly like this ride. It's pretty interesting. Would go on it again for sure.
This is a great ride. It's so fast and exciting!
I LOVE this ride. Disney really did good wiith this one. The overall experience was great. Can't wait to go back on it.
The ride is just....boring. Nothing fun in it at all.
I love this ride. Even though the line to it always seems to be kind of long it is worth the wait 100%. It was one of the best roller coasters i've been on.
When I first went on the ride I thought that it looked pretty fun. I was wrong. To me the ride just jerked you around and had no fun in it at all. That's just my opinion. They could replace it with something much better.
I only went on the ride once, and don't plan on going on it again. It's not that it was SO bad or anything, but to me it seemed quite boring.
I am so glad that this ride was built. It's probably one of the only reasons why I go to AK. Worth the wait.
Love going to this ride, Everytime we visit WDW we always end up going here. It's one of the few rides that the whole family is willing to go on.
The Haunted Mansion has almost everything a great attraction should. It is accessible -- and appealing -- to all ages. It has intense attention to detail and immersive theming. It has super-high capacity, keeping its wait times down, and also gives an experience on the longer side; perhaps the best reward-for-wait attraction out there. It even features catchy music. The only thing you could ask for is more thrill, but if the result is no height restriction, it's hard to complain with everything else it has to offer.
Not too bad of a show. Creative, often very funny, and a hit with kids. Shows can vary on trips, so it has some re-rideability (watchability?).
One of the few rides at blizzard beach that doesn't just go down. 3 waterslides total 2 are for double tubes and are not dark but still fun and provide a nice long ride. 1 for single tubes only is pitch black and moves very fast it also has a rather large drop at the end (or at least it feels like it in the dark) not for people who are scared of the dark. Overall it is a great slide.
This walkthrough attraction is a must do for any visitor to the Magic Kingdom who is physically able to climb the stairs. It's such a charming place to explore, view all the details and image yourself living in this magical treehouse. I love the water system that pulls from the stream below and follows an intricate pipeline down to the family kitchen. This is truly imagineering to its finest. A treasure of the Magic Kingdom.
This show is a true icon of the Magic Kingdom. The waiting area alone has a remarkable collection of real artifacts owned by US Presidents. The waiting room also usually has knowledgeable cast members. Look for James, he has an endless knowledge of presidential trivia. The current show, narrated by Morgan Freeman is very emotional. Highlighting the most influential and important presidents of years past, the video/photo montage is beautifully done. Last but not least, the animatronics are remarkable. The ones with primary speaking roles include Abraham Lincoln, George Washington and Barack Obama. Unfortunately for many families, kids may not have the patience to enjoy this 25 minutes show. For those who have the opportunity, don't miss this treasure of an attraction.
It is my favorite ride! It is better then Dumbo because you can move it upward and downward.Which makes you feel like your in a real magic carpet. It is tons of fun and a must do on every trip.
The whole show leaves you speechless! It is just amazing!
Fun for all ages, theres action around every corner! Plus the atmosphere is great and clean!
Most AMAZING shoiw I have ever scene! Makes you truley believe in magic again just for a second. And it's a pretty long show however it flies by! LOVE IT!!!!!!
Wasn't expecting much but really impressed me:) Had a lot of fun at our tournament we had there!
Ambiance is AMAZING! Rides are all clean and really fun!
Park is a lot of fun to go there and spend a day or couple! Fantasmic really gives it a grand ending however I did minus a star because it's a little unorganized, despite that it's a heck load of fun!!!
Really makes the hollywood feel reaklistic, pretty cool to walk through.
The ever changing menu and the service has never let us down! We have come here on our last night for every one of our visits to WDW. This time, I tried the bison with the truffle mac & cheese which was fantastic! My wife had the scallops with risotto which was also great. Our server was attentive and made excellent wine recommendations. This restaurant is a must-do!
Another case of the hype not living up to the expectation. Pretzel bread was delicious as was the signature cheese soup. Tried the beer sampler which was great but that's where it ended. My steak was WAY overcooked. I asked for medium rare (with a preference towards rare) and got a medium-well-done steak. The mushroom risotto was decent but was very salty. I think that would have all been tolerable but we also felt very rushed by our server. Overall we thought it was an average restaurant that provided a mediocre dining experience. After dining there, we really couldn't understand the 6-month wait.
Really disappointed .... the food was sub standard and not at all authentic representation of our culture except for the loukomades. While there is no sauces served with this dessert, the taste was totally there.
Summer Lace is an upscale and beautiful shop. I would love to hear plans to open an online store. Be sure that I would be its number 1 customer !!
It is a great ride for young kids there is usually about a 5 to 10 minute wait at peak season mabye about a 20 min wait. figment is a great disney charachter but isn't well known he is super funny.
May not be the most popular or thrilling attraction but is a must do for the whole family and in hot water the air conditioning feels great. The backwards part is a unique experience on a water ride but is very fun. Kids will love it!!!! It is well lit so those afraid of the dark will not have a problem with the ride. But the trolls might scare some so if you have small children I advise you don't sit in the front. The movie at the end is very loud and not fun I think a better way to show the movie would to use it as a pre-ride movie to make the wait less daunting. The Maelstrom is a ride that I hope will never leave Epcot but a few updates would be nice
When i went to ak and saw the amount of small kids (around ages 5-7) laughing and wanting to go again it showed that although the ride is a thrill it is a family thrill. A must do at ak. P.S. when i went i did not know if it goes upside down or not in the backwards part does anyone know???
The wave pool at TyphoonLagoon is more popular but not as safe for kids with the large waves. Here the water is shallow and kids have a blast
After a long day walking around the park it is nice to sit down and rest while you are brought to your'e next destination
All though el rio del tiempo was a lot more calm and informational it made kids bored. in the new version with the Three Caballeros kids seem more excited to go on and it is more whimsical and just feels more like Disney. Hint: on hot Florida days it is a good ride to do because it is inside and air conditioned An all around good ride.
the ride is claustrophobic, makes you sick, and has insane wait times. I would rather ride test Track (right next to Mission: SPACE )
Boma is a unique resort in Walt Disney World because it has African themed cuisine. The buffet has many different types of food. And even if you don't think you will like African food just take little sample sized portions of food you have not tried and see if you like it. Remember it's a buffet so you can go and get food as many times as you want. There is also traditional american food for picky eaters
The tower of terror is a great ride that supplies thrills throughout the whole ride expierience but small children might not react well to sudden drops. if you want to make sure your kids could handle drops I would try Splash Mountain or Expedition Everest first.
this slide is the most popular and proboblay the most visited slide in the park. If you get there in the morning it is smooth sailing and you usually get to try 2 out of the 3 slide paths without any wait. If you get there anytime after 12:00 pm forget it once the park reaches peak times during the day a wait to get a tube is at least 10 min.
I expected the Comtemorary Resort to be the complete disney expeirence. But it wasn't it's main concourse building reminded me of the Orlando airport with the monorails running through it. The main benefit was the quick walk to Magic Kingdom
From start to finish my stay(s) at the Beach Club were great. The service was phenomenal, the pool (Stormalong Bay) was the best hotel pool in all of Walt Disney World hands down. The dining options like Yachtsman Steakhouse, Beaches and Cream, and Cape may Cafe were great the food was good and service was quick. It also seems like the entire staff at the Beach Club greeted you with a smile or were there to offer help. I would recommend this hotel to anyone and it is always a pleasure to stay there. (:
Caribbean Beach is a great resort. The pool is amazing and the hotel does a good job of keeping a theme. But the distance between the main areas (lobby, theme pool, food stores, etc.) is INSANE! The busses are very slow and take a long time to find the bus with the park you want to go to I don't recommend this resort to families with small children.
Our first stop after arrival at WDW was to try one of the new gourmet hot dogs at Fairfax Fare. First we were "greeted" by a CM who was resting his head on the counter and wouldn't even say hello to us. We ordered the Mac & Cheese with Truffle hot dog and the BBQ Pulled Pork hot dog. Both were very tasty!! We were deciding whether to order 2 drinks or 1 large drink, and decided upon 1 large soda to share, but the CM charged us for 2 and almost argued with us about it. The manager on duty came by to fix the mistake. Food rating: 8 Service: 1 (which I won't include in the Overall rating)
Jodi & Victor’s Walt Disney World Wedding Maximum Happy, Minimum Stress, Great Value We (Jodi Bucknam and Victor Nazarian) got married at Walt Disney World on Sunday 18 April 2010 at the Gazebo in the Rose Garden at Disney's Yacht Club resort and had our reception at the Atlantic Dance Hall. The bride & groom laughed and cried and danced. The critics raved: It couldn't have been any better - Bride's Mom. I want to do it all over again - Groom. The best wedding I've ever been to - Our minister. If you've seen Molly Ringwald in "Sixteen Candles" or Steve Martin in "Father of the Bride" you may understand my state of mind in early 2009. I was worried and I wasn't sure we knew what we were doing. Marrying Jodi was a rock solid sure thing. I couldn't have been more positive of anything in my whole life. HOW do we get married? HC SVNT DRACONES... (Here Be Dragons) I asked Jodi to marry me on the Royal (pipe organ) stage at the Maryland Renaissance Festival on the last day of the Fall 2008 season. I was just back from an airborne Coast Guard Auxiliary patrol, still in my uniform flight suit. We'd been dating since the previous February and had known each other from swing dancing for about a year before that. She said yes, my friend Gary played Ode to Joy on the pipe organ and I was walking on clouds. Now we had to start walking those clouds in the direction of a wedding, somewhere. We spent months, buying magazines, doing Internet research and talking to friends. We must have put in 200 hours on our MacBooks looking up details and reading reviews and comments on weddings and we probably put over 5,000 miles on Jodi's Honda Civic Hybrid traveling to interesting wedding spots. We wanted to stay out of debt and pay for it mostly on our own. It had to be fun, include dancing and have as many of our friends and family as possible. We knew we could save some money by doing our own invitations and ceremony programs and providing a few of our own special touches. We even got our friend Slash (Eric Dunn) to draw up some special graphics we could use in our invitations. We knew we’d probably spend quite a bit if we wanted a memorable event and we wanted to do it RIGHT, get a good value and have lots of fun for our money. We had lots of ideas for themes including Victorian formal, steam punk, zoot suits, island/tropical and Jazz Fest in New Orleans, etc. I even suggested getting married by a ship's captain in period garb - a pirate wedding. Jodi wasn't into the pirate wedding theme but getting married on a ship (in non-pirate clothes) stayed on the list. We considered several cities close to the water and also maybe staying close to home. Even though Washington D.C. is beautiful in the Spring the sprawling nature and inflated costs of the D.C. metro area would have made staying close to home expensive and complicated. Also, because Jodi's family is somewhat dispersed and would have to travel anyway it only seemed fair to have the wedding somewhere worth traveling to. This made a destination wedding much more appealing, at least to my logic. We visited, Baltimore, Portland (Maine), Tampa, Orlando, New Orleans, Charleston and several other cities. One of the pilots in my Coast Guard Auxiliary aviation flotilla, even flew us out to Tangier Island in the Chesapeake Bay. Then we talked it all over, did the math and searched our hearts. All in all it came down to what would make the maximum happy with the minimum stress at a reasonable cost? Walt Disney World came up on top. It was more than just choosing a location, it was more like choosing a project management team with romantic show business experience. I had just one tiny concern... "I don't think I want a Mickey Mouse wedding." Looking back that might seem silly. We had just about the best time anyone can have getting married. Before-hand however I had some real concerns. I didn't want to spend the price of a small, used airplane on something that might feel plastic and be regarded as cheesy. I love Disney and Pixar and I'm fond of the Sorcerer's Apprentice. We own every Pixar film and we both love The Muppets. Even so, I wanted to make sure our wedding would be a Jodi and Victor focused affair, special in its own right. I was also worried I would talk Jodi into something she wouldn't love. I can be a real bulldozer when it comes to decisions. When the little voice in my heart expressed concerns about "Mickey Mouse wedding" I listened to it. I made sure to say something to both Jodi and the Disney folks. I also made a point of listening to everyone. I'm not always the best listener but for this, I tried to listen extra hard. Here's where the Disney folks really impressed me, Telepathy. Yup, Kristi Davis one of Disney's wedding sales representatives over at Franck's can read minds! She showed us the wedding chapel and the beach near the Grand Floridian and then, perhaps reading my body language or looking inside my skull suggested we go over to the Yacht Club and look at the rose garden and gazebo. Long before I met Jodi my best WDW trip ever was back in the early 2000's when I stayed for several days at the Yacht Club. It's cool, retro and wonderful and it's right by the water. Also, it's walking distance to both Epcot and MGM (now Disney's Hollywood Studios). Somehow Kristi must have known I love all of that. I love mind readers! We were still not sign-on-the-dotted-line just yet. We made sure to finish up visiting the other sites we had planned and we double checked our hearts. We looked at numbers and talked with friends. We asked family members what they thought and then we did the smart thing. We talked with Jodi's mom. Jodi's mother Anita is a saint. Really! She's a super smart, ultra cool professor over at Ohio State (Go Buckeyes) and not only was she happy to let us do the wedding any way we wanted but she also said she'd help us if we needed it. She agreed with us that WDW was a good idea and was very supportive. Likewise Jodi's father was very supportive as well and also offered to help if needed. Although we wanted to do this ourselves as much as possible we were relieved to know that help would be there if we needed it. We did "tap the rents" a little for money for photography, etcetera and my own mother even put up some money for the rehearsal dinner. They were all comfortable with Disney and helped keep our stress down a lot. The due diligence and teamwork really brought Jodi and me closer together and made us more confident in our decisions. Some people have buyer's remorse about their wedding (the place, hopefully not the partner). I didn't want to ever have any feelings whatsoever that we could have done it better. By personally visiting lots of locations together and talking to lots of people face-to-face we bonded and we assured ourselves we were doing the right things. Then we chose Walt Disney World and Disney's Fairy Tale Weddings. Smart move, they were able to make it all happen with lots of happiness and without stress. They have, or can arrange for, almost everything you might need. Walt Disney's company is much more than cute media icons and cultural fluff. He and his brother Roy established a creative business culture that revolves around family, friendship and taking good care of people. Disney has what it takes to make a wedding into a celebration: 1. Professionals who are capable and motivated to make things happen. 2. Customer service - feeling pampered should be part of any wedding. 3. Happiness, fun and smiles, for everyone - key to a good wedding. 4. Low stress!!! 5. Resources that are all close at hand. Food Weddings mean people. People mean food, usually drinks too. About 4 months before the wedding we took a trip with Jodi's mom to WDW to taste food and cake. We were bowled over. They gave us a list of themes to choose from, each of which had associated food selections we could mix and match (and taste). We were able to add in ideas of our own and do a significant amount of modification. We could have done everything from scratch but it would have been expensive. Disney can do almost anything but if you want hard-to-find food or extremely difficult to prepare meals it may cost a whole lot extra. Whatever the case, we enjoyed extra high quality, extra pleasing presentation and people going out-of-their-way to make us and our guests happy. If we'd had folks that were vegan, they could've worked with that. If we'd had folks who hate seafood, they would have had that covered. We went with one of the suggested themes and generally stuck with interesting but not extravagant food items to stay within budget. While at the tasting Jodi and I did sometimes speak wistfully about interesting or favorite foods like crème brulèe and key lime pie we wished we could have. You know something, Shelley Dunkley and the chefs made special magic happen for us. At our reception the Disney folks brought us several little dishes, out of the blue, with some of the off-menu items we had mentioned in passing at the tasting, no charge. It all looked and tasted wonderful. I love these people! If you happen to let slip that you love something, someone at Disney may just make your wish come true. Everything served was superior and the presentation was artistic and beautiful. Many married friends had advised me to make sure I eat something at the reception because it's easy to be too busy to eat. I did and I was glad for it. Everything I ate was like a slice of happy. Cake I love cake. I love weddings. Strangely enough, I do not really like run-of-the-mill wedding cake. Go figure. Disney does cake. Not just wedding cake, cake like you used to want to get older faster for so you could have your next birthday right away. Cake that would make you want to be friends with that kid in 4th grade who no one liked just so you could get invited to his party. That kid turned out to be a good friend by the way. Fluffy, melt-in-your-mouth with wonderful layers of filling and frosting in-between with candy corn and flowers and stuff on it! Cake that can make your forget about a rainy day or a broken arm... Ok, I love cake. Anyway, my favorite is German chocolate. I knew years ago that if I got married it was highly unlikely that I would have German chocolate cake for the wedding. I was wrong. Not only did Disney let us taste about a dozen different cakes and toppings but they also made it clear that just about anything we wanted (within reason, for a price) was possible. We're not talking Komodo Dragon flavored cake but certainly any flavor that had ever been used for a birthday or wedding or tea party should be possible. Well, Jodi and I chose 3 different wonderful layers for each level of the wedding cake. We also had a separate German chocolate groom's cake just to make my little dream come true and it wasn't expensive. The wedding cake itself was more than just good to eat. It was ultra fantastic to look at too. Each layer was a completely different (and wonderful) type of cake and the filling in-between was awesome. Jodi wanted the outside to have lots of natural theme-ology so it was decorated with fern leaves and chocolate acorns and even though it was white it didn't have that stacked glacier/frozen tundra look that so many wedding cakes have. It looked man made but also natural, like a beautiful ornamental garden decoration that the plants had adopted. Wow but it was good. One thing though, we couldn't figure out a way to get the top layer home on the plane so instead of keeping it for our 1st anniversary we shared it with friends the next day at breakfast. Since some of them stayed at WDW for an extra couple of days, we were able to share our happiness with them a little longer. Drinks Wine, beer and mixed drinks are a traditional part of many weddings. I know I would have been genuinely put-out if we had not been able to have a champagne toast and a glass of merlot. No problem, Disney has levels of drink service you can choose from with a per-drink cost spelled out. You can also let guests buy their own drinks but I think it's more fun if they don't have to. Disney will even work with you to provide unusual or exceptional drinks. If you have a particular beverage of choice they will work with you to obtain it and make it available but you will not be allowed to simply bring bottles of booze. They MAY make an allowance for a particular bottle of wine or champagne for the bride and groom but maybe not. Be nice and know when not to push things. They're not going to go out-of-their-way to hassle you over a hip flask but a quart of moonshine may get some stern words. Disney provides virtually every drink-able item and they can get almost anything. Kids can have juices, teens can have soda and adults can have whatever they like from OJ to schnapps to water. Costs are on a par with other catering venues or good restaurants. It boils down to how top-shelf you want the drinks in general, how many extras you add and how many drinks get consumed. The guests see none of this, they just have fun. The one draw back I felt during our reception is the fact that at an "open bar" event no one handles any cash but that means that people usually forget to tip the bartenders and wait staff. I personally feel a sense of responsibility on that account so I made a point of getting some thank-you gift cards to the banquet staff after all was said and done. You will get an itemized tab and it won't be too painful unless you have a boring reception where everyone does nothing but drink a lot. In reality that gives you a very good reason to have an extremely fun reception with lots to do. More activity usually means less time to drink. Also, you can rest easy about guests getting home. They can walk, take a boat or take the free shuttles back to their own rooms on the Disney property. We chose one of the middle tier services and we were well provided for. Folks had the drinks they wanted and didn't have to mess with cash or credit cards and everyone got 'home' safe. By the way, we had our champagne glasses custom etched by a friend at the Maryland Renaissance Festival and they are beautiful. Don’t forget to support your friends and local craftsmen when you can. Photography Pictures are an integral part of any modern wedding. Digital photography itself has become relatively inexpensive and yet wedding photography has actually increased in price in recent years. When we got the wedding package from Disney I was taken aback. The cost of wedding photos if we went with Disney would be nearly 20% of our budget, without video! I was so floored by this that I spoke with some photographer friends who were Smithsonian and Secret Service photographers and did weddings on the side. They told me that a good wedding shoot could cost between $2,000 and $12,000! That gave me a frame of reference. Even with all of my research I had missed that detail. I still needed some convincing. About that time Jodi's father volunteered to cover the cost of the photography. He made it much easier for us (me) to think clearly, without financial stress clouding my judgment. We decided to let the Disney folks take care of our photography and we wouldn't regret it. We chose to have one of the higher end photography services but decided not to have Disney do the video. Our friend Annette who worked there for 30+ years offered to shoot digital video for us and that worked out fine. The Disney Fine Art Photography focused on shooting fantastic stills and they did so much more than just take pictures. What we paid was a bargain for the service, care and handling they gave us. The over-the-top-notch service and the 'no-worries' feeling is worth more than I can describe. Thanks Dad! It's impossible to compare Amy Alexander, Daryn Backal and the Disney wedding photography staff with normal wedding photographers. It's just not a reasonable comparison. Out-of-house wedding photographers aren't as familiar with WDW as the Disney folks. Disney photographers know their own back yard better than anyone else ever will. That means fantastic settings, framed backdrops and near-perfect lighting & color schemes. If you then add in top-of-the-line cameras & equipment and truly awesome post-production resources... well, you get the picture. There's just no chance a regular photographer can compete, even at a discount. Add in attentive customer support from Carol Feeney and Dara Bond and the extra special Lillian Lopez (love that woman!) you get fantastic-ness that no other wedding photography can match. Let me take a special moment to further praise Amy Alexander and Lillian Lopez. Amy was often a lot like an athletic coach while shooting us. She 'danced' us through our still photography like a Broadway director moves performers on stage. She somehow managed to read our minds (there's that special Disney magic again) and make the shots happen. Backgrounds, lighting, movement, reflections and even raindrops all seemed to be under her command while she orchestrated Jodi and me. To top it all off, Amy is also a post-production wiz. She took the thousands of shots and culled them down to over 800 fantastic photos that all show wonderful happiness. The pictures, when we got them, were like a small avalanche of great memories. One word of advice, pay the extra money to get the high-resolution DVD's and really consider the other extra options. It's all money but it's all so worth it. Lillian Lopez helped us put our wedding album together when we came back to WDW about 8 months after the wedding. Actually she helped us put two of them together. One large one with a wonderful spread of all aspects of our wedding and a second, smaller one with just the best of the best of the best. She's patient and happy and it makes me smile just to think of the hours we spent with her. Yes, hours! Even though Jodi and I had spent many nights before bed going over the photos to narrow it down to just a couple of hundred for album consideration, it still took 3 to 4 hours with Lillian to get things laid out and perfect. This was time she gave willingly and happily and it's exactly the way it needed to be. I'm sorry to say I was grumpy that morning when I woke up. I had slept extremely poorly at the Swan & Dolphin the night before and I just felt played out. Lillian rescued me from that mood and made a chore into yet another happy memory. If you have the chance, work with her. She'll take good care of you and make you smile. Wedding Planning Staff Our excellent wedding planner Diane Bowen was graceful and professional. Whenever we had a question it was handled with assurance, respect and a smile. She was responsive and helpful before the wedding and was professional and unflappable during the ceremony and reception. When it looked like it might rain she trusted me to make the call to stay outside even though she didn't know I have been trained in weather analysis by the Coast Guard Auxiliary. When there was a hiccup with the music just before the ceremony started she handled it and kept things moving. When a guest had to leave the reception and fly home due to an emergency Diane found an internet connection, arranged for the flight and got her on her way. If I ever get the chance again, I'll hire her, she's aces. When one of my two best 'men' Johnny, who lost his leg a few years ago, had trouble with his prosthetic, Jamie Ledet and Chrissy Walsh found a wheelchair and took special good care of him. Awesome. In addition to Diane keeping us very well informed about the wedding expenses and planning, assistant planners Jen Flores, Alix Griffin-Arnold and Jessica Moore went out of their way to make sure the paperwork and reservations process was as painless as possible. Anyone out there who's ever managed any kind of large project or event knows that the devil lives in the details and those details hide in the paperwork. Jen took care of us and Jess made sure we understood what we were doing each step of the way. Any time I eMailed any of them or called I knew they would do their best. I was also heartened that their 'best' is several notches above other people’s best. Flowers Laura Kidd with Disney floral was the ultimate cool. Jodi is a naturalist and park ranger. She wanted nature to be part of our wedding and Laura and her staff were able to make that happen. The flowers and greenery were beautiful in a way that still makes me feel warm and fuzzy. The bouquets and corsages all looked like little bits of purity and sunshine with a little spice. The flowers and natural touches to the ceremony were actually enhanced quite a bit because the Gazebo at the Yacht Club is in a beautiful but understated rose garden. Laura and her staff know how to use flowers and plants to add-to rather than compete-with the landscaping and darn, it looked great. In the 1990's the word was synergy. I don't really know how the Disney floral and landscaping staff did it but somehow we had baby bunnies and newborn ducklings as part of our marriage. I don't know where they nest or live but they provided a little bit more magic for our wedding. Fortunately they didn't actually get in anyone's way during the ceremony but we saw them several times during our trip and it made us extra happy. The Ceremony Disney's Yacht club is upscale and wonderful. Even in a non-wedding setting it's the kind of place that can make you feel that everything's alright. The facilities inside and the main lobby and lounge areas are fantastic for photos and preparation. The secluded rose garden and gazebo have a view of the water but are also somewhat obscure. It's a very successful fusion of public and private spaces and is pure Steve Jobs, Walt Disney, Albert Einstein type genius. Although mostly shielded from wind and weather the rose garden still gets lots of light. There is easy access to restrooms, food, guest rooms and good photo backdrops. There are indoor galleries and ballrooms near at hand in case it rains and the ceremony has to move indoors. It's also well shielded from most unwanted sounds. The hotel check-in staff made sure that many of our guests had rooms with balconies or walk-out porches into the rose garden. Believe me, this was a significant comfort to yours truly when I was waiting for the ceremony to begin. More than once I walked over between the bushes to my friends’ rooms to shake hands, exchange hugs and to make sure they were ready to take their seats. Smooth, low stress and very romantic. I cried a bunch. The Reception The Atlantic Dance Hall at Disney's Boardwalk is exceptional. My grandparents had told me how much they loved getting married and going to Cape May back "before the war". The Atlantic Dance Hall is a very high class reconstruction of that pre-WWII, mid-atlantic feeling. It's also got a layer of Art Deco flavor and could easily make you feel like Daddy Warbucks and Annie might walk in at any minute. The combination of great banquet service and the very fine facility are perfect for each other. The multiple levels allow for some seclusion if people need time apart while the general arrangement of the place mostly keeps all of the spaces part of the central focus. As with the rose garden it's a mix of conflicting aspects that are artfully and successfully combined. It's even got outside balcony areas overlooking the water where folks can go outside, watch the boats and smoke cigars if they want to. Banquet manager Shelley Dunkley and her staff of decorators, waiters, chefs and bartenders turned a beautiful space into a celebration of happiness. The wait staff was attentive, energetic and kind while the bar keepers were quick and friendly. Because chocolate is a significant part of our lives Jodi and I put out Ghiradelli chocolates as favors to our guests. We purchased these the day before at Downtown Disney and this gave a bit of extra yummy in addition to cocktail hour hors d’oeuvres. So our wedding guests could get to know each other more easily, Disney set up more tables and place settings than we paid for at no extra cost. Before I found out about this free 'extra' I had honestly thought about paying for extra settings just for this reason but the per-plate cost would have been hard on our budget. When they said they do it as a matter of course it made me smile. They think like I think. The extra tables and place settings did indeed come in handy as people mingled and sat and ate and got to know each other. I did specifically request one other extra table, set with just one place setting. This setting and table was provided free by Disney to honor absent companions. It was to remember those who are no longer with us and could not come to the wedding. It's a military tradition that is both solemn and very beautiful. In a way, Disney helped make it so my two younger brothers and my father and several others who all left us much too early were there in spirit. It was uplifting even though it represents loss and separation. I was so glad the Disney folks could make it happen for me. If you like dancing, Atlantic Dance Hall is excellent. It has one of the best dance floors I've ever been on. Taking in the seating areas, bars, stage, the beautiful architecture and lighting you get an experience worth raving about. When we arrived we made a "secret" entrance and took the elevator upstairs. Then, with fantastic flourish from DJ Patrick Cullen we descended the grand staircase to the Muppet Show theme and went right into our 'first' dance, L-O-V-E by Nat King Cole. It was even more fun than I had thought it could be. Also, it's kid safe (within reason) and handicap friendly. If you ever have an opportunity to go to an event there or simply poke your head in, do it. Dance if you get the chance! Music DJ Patrick Cullen (http://www.atomicweddingdj.com) was superlative. He really aced the gig with Master of Ceremony duties as well as great dance music DJ work. He showed up in great zoot suit style dance clothes which went well with several of our friends who also dressed up in '30's/'40's/'50's style. Everyone had a fantastic time and with Patrick's management of the up-beat mood, we all had tons of fun while burning lots of calories. I got high praise from a pair of my friends who dance often, "He's trying to kill us!" they claimed. That was because Patrick was playing such good music no one wanted to leave the dance floor! Everyone was dancing themselves into smaller clothes sizes by the minute and smiling the whole time. He also played slow stuff for folks to settle down and eat and relax but always made sure the mood and pace of the music matched the needs and happiness of the guests. We even had a conga line near the end that got almost every single guest up and dancing, again! I never met the man before that day. He was specifically recommended to me by the Disney staff so I was willing to trust he was good. I had high expectations and he more than exceeded them. It also helped a lot that Disney has top notch sound systems. Quality equipment lets professionals do good work. Planning the reception music, Patrick was very good at communicating from a distance. I was easily able to stay in touch with him and plan the reception music & style completely from home. He made it all seem so easy. When we have our 5 year anniversary I'm going to hire him again. Patrick's genuinely a wonderful, fun guy. One other thing, Patrick and his wife can also take care of other wedding preparations and production if you need a non-Disney local person in the Orlando area. Oh, and he can dance too! Dancing At many weddings dancing is often largely the responsibility of the guests and the DJ but Jodi and I are regular, committed swing dancers. We weren't going to just dance a couple of dances with each other and our parents and hope for the best. We wanted to make sure dancing was a central part of our reception. I wanted to see my mother dance with her husband and my new sister-in-law dance with my friends. We both wanted to see everyone smile and laugh and get to know each other. Some of our guests dance but we didn't want anyone to feel left out so we brought down our friends, super fantastic dance instructors, Dabe and Janelle Murphy (http://www.Dabe-and-Janelle.com). You know that 30 to 90 minutes between the ceremony and the couple's grand entrance at the reception? That quiet time when photographer gets special photos of the new couple? Well, we didn't want any dull times in our wedding so we asked Dabe and Janelle teach a dance lesson during that 'quiet' time. A dance lesson is a great ice breaker! Each gentleman ends up dancing with each of the ladies as the instructors 'rotate' the partners from one to the next during the course of the lesson. Our family and friends will be part of our lives forever and the lesson gave them a good opportunity to get to know each other, much better than just standing around drinking cocktails. The end result, everyone got a dance lesson, everyone laughed and joked and met new people and no one even noticed the time go by. When Jodi and I got to the reception everything was smiles and music and energy. As the afternoon progressed everyone danced a whole lot and had a great time! The dance lessons may have even saved us money. If our guests had been drinking the whole time instead of dancing the bar tab might have been $500 higher. Flying Dabe & Janelle down to Disney was significantly less than that and we LOVED having them. It also happened to be their 3rd anniversary and Janelle used to work at WDW. It was a true win-win! Facilities & Accommodations How can you beat having hotels, food, reception space, cosmetology, hairstyling, clothing, airport transportation, entertainment and professional management all in one place? The reduction in stress of knowing that no matter what, everyone can get to the wedding and back again safely is a serious boost to any wedding. The fact that we chose the rose garden for the ceremony and the Atlantic Dance Hall for the reception made things an order of magnitude easier. Jodi and I stayed our first 2 nights at the Pop Century because Jodi loves the giant swing dancers on the side of one of the buildings. Both Pop Century and the All Stars resorts offer reasonable cost and excellent, comfortable accommodations. Jodi then moved in with her mom over at the Yacht club and I stayed with my brother Chris. Really, having some of the guests’ hotel rooms with walk-out access to the ceremony grounds and everyone able to walk from the ceremony to the reception simplified the planning, timing and even the photography while also reducing costs. It also made it extra easy for everyone to stay in touch. When the bride's mother wanted to know if I was ready, she didn't have to go far. If the wedding planner had a last minute question about the flower arrangements she only needed to knock on the bride's mom's hotel door. That kind of stress reduction is valuable beyond price. Sure the rooms at Disney's Yacht Club are a little more. That little bit of cost makes a world of difference. If you take into the account that everyone saves on gas, taxis, limousines and stress, it all makes good sense. Even for those who need to stay at the more inexpensive Disney hotels the free shuttle busses handle that issue easily. Transportation Destination weddings or indeed any wedding where folks are coming from out-of-town can involve a lot of extra transportation issues. Disney has that so completely covered that it's even easier than having a wedding near home. Specialized transportation can of course be had. Disney can arrange for limousines, horse drawn carriages, classic cars, motor coaches (bus), boats, etc., etc. Disney allows you to make external transportation arrangements also. If you have a particular limo service or your grandfather has a 1940's Packard you want to use, that's OK (within certain boundaries). If you want to have a spectacular getaway, they have resources ready for you. About the only thing they don't have available is aircraft. That's not really a problem though. Jodi and I wanted a water 'getaway' from the reception but unfortunately Disney's ultra cool motor launch, "Breathless" was broken and a Disney cruise ship at Port Canaveral was out of our budget. So, Jodi and I decided to rely on the free Friendship Boats that run on the canals between the Boardwalk/Yacht Club and Epcot and Disney's Hollywood Studios. These boats are a treasure and it couldn't have been more perfect! Jodi and I had the open back (fantail) of the boat all to ourselves. The coxswain (captain) of the boat even helped out by spinning Friendship VI around and backing it to the docks. He then pulled slowly away into Crescent Lake so everyone could get great photos while we waved goodbye and Jodi blew kisses. It was like something out of a 1930's motion picture and it was fantastically beautiful. Royal weddings don't have it any better. Jodi and I flew Southwest Airlines (http://www.southwest.com). Along with convenient BWI to Orlando direct service and free bags (a HUGE plus) they were very kind and sweet to us. Southwest even let us put little 'clingy' valentine decorations in our row on the airplane on the wall and window and seat backs and we rode in super-fun silly, romantic happiness both ways. They even gave us a bottle of champagne. Southwest took extremely good care of us! If your guests are staying at a Disney-owned resort Disney's Magical Express will transport them and their bags to and from the airport for free. Disney mailed us baggage tags and once we checked our bags with Southwest at BWI we didn't have to think about them again until we got to our room at WDW. Trains, buses and most of the major air carriers go to Orlando so getting there from almost anywhere is easy. Interstate highways make for easy driving to WDW. Guests can park free at Downtown Disney or at their hotel or at the wedding venue and take free shuttles everywhere. Remember, not all of the hotels on the WDW property are owned by Disney and thus the free airport transportation might not be available. The Swan and Dolphin is a particular example. If you stay there you may have to deal with your own bags and airport transportation. Hair, Makeup, Dress, and Odds & Ends Jodi chose to get an extremely beautiful and dance-able dress from David's Bridal (www.davidsbridal.com) up here in Washington D.C. and we shipped the dress down a week before the wedding. Jodi chose a beautiful, traditional girly-girl dress with a halter-top and a train she could 'bustle' up so we could dance without worries. It worked great and looked fantastic. I have theater costume experience and lots of travel experience so I know how to properly box and ship a large, expensive dress. Jodi was worried but I was confident it would all be OK. It was. When we arrived our friend Annette Mead took us to the dress shop and we double checked everything and it was all good. Disney had recommended the dress prep service / shop and they were perfect. They even came to Jodi’s mom’s room to help with last minute issues. To propose to Jodi, I purchased a pretty, gold ring with Celtic knots and a deep red garnet stone from a long time friend at the Maryland Renaissance Festival, master goldsmith Rob Piland (http://www.repiland.com). I wanted this ring to be special but I also wanted Jodi to be able to design her own wedding rings and help me design mine. This way I figured she had a special ‘proposal’ ring to wear while we designed our custom nuptial rings and Rob made them for us. My grandmother gave Jodi and me my grandparents’ 30th anniversary rings to use in making our own wedding rings. The diamond from my Grandmother’s ring became the stone for Jodi’s engagement ring and Rob used gold from both of my grandparents’ rings in our new ones. Jodi now wears the proposal ring on her right hand and the engagement ring and its wedding ‘jacket’ look stunning on her left. Mine is an intricate woven Celtic design that I think looks fantastic. Jodi’s sister Cory, has extensive theater experience and did Jodi’s makeup and our friend Lindsey braided Jodi's hair into a beautiful do. Jodi's naturally an extremely pretty girl. Really! I'm biased but look at the pictures. She looked great (and continues to look great). Even so, it was good to know that Disney was able to recommend hair and cosmetology people had we needed them. If something had gone wrong with the dress, hair or makeup (or most anything else really) Disney would have been able to help. That really did our sanity a world of good. For the dinner with the parents the night before the rehearsal we went over to the Boardwalk. Anyone who thinks that Walt Disney World only has tourist food needs to make reservations at the Flying Fish. It's fine dining and you should not show up wearing a t-shirt and flip flops. Kristi Warrick is one of the managers there and she has a fine crew of fantastic chefs and wait staff. It's not cheap but it's worth every penny to have really great food in a relaxed atmosphere while smiling and sipping wine with your about-to-be father-in-law. If you have the opportunity, go. They even printed up special congratulatory copies of the menus for us to keep as souvenirs. Darn cool. Our luncheon after the rehearsal was a low key but extremely happy affair at the ESPN Club at Disney's Boardwalk, walking distance from the ceremony location at the Yacht Club. Back in 2009 there was an ESPN Zone here in Washington D.C. so I was able to visit it a few times to check out the food and ask some questions. I found out that the menu could accommodate special needs and I could indeed arrange for a large party without any serious hassles. I was able to verify this with a couple of phone calls down to the WDW location and it all came together easily. It was inexpensive and very good. Everyone had a great time. If you don't like ESPN there's a myriad of other options but I highly recommend ESPN at WDW for a good low-key gathering. The Disney web page for our wedding helped a lot. Using this, guests stayed informed and arranged for park tickets and room information among other things. This might seem like a small thing but it's one of those free 'little things' like the Disney save-the-date cards that made life easier for Jodi and me and gave an extra warm-fuzzy. These small things not only gave us a useful way of getting folks the information they needed but also lent a sense of gravity and special-ness to the planning and invitation process. When folks got the save-the-date cards or visited the web site they got a special 'wow' feeling that many of them specifically mentioned to me later. To me it still feels a little like we were part of the Disney family and that we made them a part of us. Make friends with a local person! My special friend down in the Orlando area is Annette Mead who retired from Disney after something over 30 years. I met her back in the 1990's at WDW for Star Wars Weekends and we've stayed in touch ever since. She was able to help us with a million little details like getting bubble stuff (instead of rice) for the ceremony and driving us to city hall for our marriage license. Her insider knowledge of all things Disneyworld helped a 'bunchaton'. She and her daughter Brandy also shot some video for us that ended up being a special addition to our wedding DVD. I will always owe her for being so good to us. Things to watch out for: - Communications. For whatever reason cell phone and text communications are not necessarily universal for the wedding staff. There were a few times when it was somewhat difficult to get a hold of the right person. New technology or a change in policy may have fixed this. - Locations and transportation during wedding planning. For whatever reason, the wedding planners were located about a 20 minute drive away from almost everything. Wedding sales folks at Franck's had cars to show customers around but the wedding planners themselves didn't. If possible make sure you set aside extra time in-between food tasting, flowers and other agenda items when visiting sites and facilities on planning trips. Banquet, bridal and other services may not be co-located. Confirm times and places more than once and check a map. If it takes 25 min. by Monorail and bus to get from one place to another and you only set aside 10 min. you'll stress. The wedding planner might not have a car to give you a ride. Consider reserving a taxi if necessary. If you're in your own car a good GPS is your friend. - eMail attachments. We experienced a few kinks in the exchange of eMail messages apparently revolving around a problem with Microsoft Word and the Microsoft servers & eMail services used at Disney. They've almost certainly been fixed by now but I remember the staff having to make 3 attempts to eMail a graphic of the layout of our reception. Microsoft's software kept trying to encapsulate the graphics in some corrupted or difficult-to-open format. PDF and JPEG are your friends and avoid .docx documents. - Guest accommodations coordination. The arranging of rooms for the wedding is handled much like for a convention. Disney's wedding folks arrange for blocks of rooms to be 'held' for the wedding at a discount price and give 'credit' to the bride & groom for a free honeymoon room. Unfortunately, the actual reservations and payment services are only partly coordinated & automatic. You should contact each family or individual to advise them and again later to get their hotel confirmation numbers and send those to the wedding planners. This may get especially problematic if you have a guest who 'thinks' they know what they're doing and doesn't follow instructions. - Billing policies. It took me 5 really careful readings of the paperwork and 3 phone calls over the course of 2 weeks to really understand what money was going to be spent on which things. Most of my confusion came down to 'required' expenditures in relation to day-of-the-week and location. As an example, a Saturday wedding mandates you spend a particular amount of money while a Sunday wedding has a lower mandatory amount (at the same location). The costs of individual banquet, ceremony or entertainment items themselves may not change, just the requirement that you must buy more stuff on Saturday vs. Sunday. You'll probably be spending more than the minimums anyway so it probably won't matter unless your budget is very tight. - Music restrictions. If you have an outdoor ceremony or reception anywhere on the Disney property they will not let your mom or dad sing at your own wedding. If your father is a semi-professional choir member or your sister is a professional vocalist and dancer, no-dice. They consider that all "entertainment" and stipulate that all live entertainment MUST be arranged by Disney. It still makes me scratch my head since a ceremony is NOT entertainment. They will however let you pre-record whatever you like and play that recording over the sound system they provide. This is what we did. I made 2 burned CD's and a pre-loaded iPod as backup and it all worked well. Thus we did manage to have my music teacher Paul Ruskin play 'What a Wonderful World' for us, virtually speaking. I suppose we could have had Dad lip sync... Indoor gigs are different. - Make double sure you have all of the legal issues with your wedding sorted out before you go for your special day. Disney can help a bit with that but it's one of the few things they can't do for you. Disney insists that you have your marriage license all in order before you have the ceremony and you have to go to the court house in the correct county to take care of that in-person, ahead of time. That might be more complicated than you would think because WDW is actually bisected by the county line, most of it is in Orange county and part is in Osceola county. Also, in-state residents have extra rules and potential time-impediments that out-of-state residents don't have to obey. Along with our wedding planner Diane Bowen, Debbie Grant at Disney Online Communications helped set me straight about that and they made sure we had the correct answers. We made lots of calls and had lots of backup documentation and arrived a few days early just to make sure we got this perfect. The above issues are really not dire (except for the marriage license), just important to think about and try to get right. After speaking with literally dozens of people involved with weddings (their own and other peoples') I understand that Disney gave us service that was above-and-beyond and that our little project was about the most trouble-free wedding possible. It was also about the most fun we could have possibly had! Put in the fact that with only a little help from the moms and dads we got it all done and didn't even use up all of our savings or go into debt. Special thank-you's from (and to) Disney I know that part of the Disney norm was (and is) to give us more than we paid for. Sometimes it was simply providing better-than-excellent service and more happiness. In some cases they actually gave us specific, tangible extras or gifts that were both extremely valuable and memorably kind. While we were at our sweetheart table during the reception our wedding planner Diane Bowen gave us two unexpected special gifts. She gave us each a beautiful formal Disney Fairy Tale Wedding watch (in a little box shaped like a fairy tale book) and two Walt Disney World annual passes. We both treasure our watches and wear them often. They are beautiful and shiny and unique and I feel special wearing mine. The annual passes are good for park-hopping in any WDW parks all day, every day for a whole year starting whenever we want to start. These are very valuable and were a complete surprise. They even allow us to get discounts on our Disney hotel rooms when we stay at WDW in the future. Of course, we'll be back, hopefully a lot. Don't forget to write thank-you notes to the Disney folks and other vendors. In addition to sending gift cards to the banquet staff we also made sure to write thank-you notes and send gift cards and copies of our wedding DVD to each department at Walt Disney World and most of the outside vendors who helped. I know it might not seem like much but many of the Disney folks and the other vendors get very little positive feedback and it's a great kindness to show them some extra appreciation if you can. After all, these people do make Disneyworld extra special and they will thank you right back. We even wrote a thank-you to the vendor that provided the little chocolate squares we found on our pillows at the Grand Floridian. When we wrote to Astor Chocolate and thanked them for making our wedding night a little bit sweeter they actually wrote back and sent us over 2 pounds of fine chocolates. Wow, that was cool. Magical It was all so wonderful and near-perfect that I still feel overwhelmed 18 months later. I got to marry a fantastic lady that I'm thankful for every day. I got to hang out with some of my best friends and most beloved family. I got to vacation in Disneyworld. I got to do it all together! It's all more happiness than can be had with mere money. It's magic and I'd love to marry Jodi all over again. Oh, and this time I'd love to take her on a cruise. ;-) Postscript Jodi and I wanted to make sure that our friends and family who couldn’t come to Walt Disney World would get the chance to share our happiness, so we had a local reception at the Old Town Alexandria water front near D.C. a few months after we got back from Orlando. It was a gas! And they lived happily ever after…
This is a great shop for almost everything, pins, pens, crisps,(sorry chips)candy, kitchen ware, party ware, beer, bears, souvineers for everyone.Got a sore head, dont worry theres headache pills too.opens early morning till late.super stuff.
Well next year will be our third stay at PORS,have prev stayed at POFQ and CB,but we fell in love with the ambience, tranquility, the open grounds, the food court, infact everything.Cant wait to see the new refurbishment, not that we spend lots of time in the rooms, infact in our two week vacation i reckon we spend about 30 mins in the morning getting ready and one hour at night before noddin off,all the fun is out there in the parks. An average day consists of alarm set for 6.30am,breakfast at 7.00am,and hop on a bus for 7.30 (talk about being organised,)back for lunch and a dip in the pool around 1.00pm.Up to the room for change of clothes and back out untill midnight.Once we get back home to Scotland we hibernate for the rest of the year.
My family & I had the dinner buffet at Cape May on 10/24/11. What a great experience. The service was top notch, the food was phenomenal, and the atmosphere was great. The restaurant was very busy, but not chaotic. The food was constantly being "refreshed", and as a result, loads of fresh mussels, clams, and crab legs kept coming out to the buffet. For seafood lovers -- this is pretty tough to beat! However, it wasn't just the seafood that was good, all the food (from soup to dessert) was fantastic. We were simply stunned as to how good the food was, and feel that it's an incredible deal as part of the traditional Disney Dining Plan (although, I'm hearing rumors that it won't be as of 2012). Can't say enough good things about it, and we feel like it may be the best dining experience that we've ever had @ Disney, and we've had a lot of dining experiences to date. The kids loved it, too! (4 & 5 years old) HIGHLY recommended
Awesome food, at a reasonable cost, and it takes you away from the chaos that always ensues around lunch time near the Yak & Yeti. By comparison, the Flame Tree is like an oasis away from it all, and (in our experience & opinion) waaay better food then Yak & Yeti. Can't think of a better quick service option in Animal Kingdom. Highly recommended
My family and I had dinner there on 10/26/11. It was a spontaneous dinner choice, which unfortunately, didn't work out well. The steak was of pathetically cheap quality, which for the mid-$20 price tag, was not a good start. The vegetables seemed like something out of the freezer section of a grocery store, and the service was very lacking. Our children (4 & 5) did not like there food either, and we were all let down (and frustrated) by the length of time our server would disappear for. It was busy at the time, but c'mon .... you shouldn't go 20 minutes without seeing your server, and wait another 15 minutes for the process of paying the bill ! It's all a bit magnified -- especially when the food & experience wasn't good to begin with, and then you have to chase people down to pay them. Spontaneous decisions a lot of times have served us well, and in Disney -- those experiences (we've found) are sometimes the best & most memorable -- but not this time. Overall, would never recommend it for dinner. Lunch or a casual beer & appetizer may be reasonable, but we probably won't try to find out.
We had read a few somewhat negative reviews before having lunch at The Wave on 10/27/11, but have to say we really enjoyed it. The atmoshpere is trendy, and a nice change of pace when focusing primarily on character meals, and keeping young children entertained. The kids really enjoyed it there, and our service was terrific. The ahi tuna salad was very good, our children (4 & 5) enjoyed their meals (chicken I believe), and even the beer selection was good (a few simple beer options with lunch !). Overall, we were very pleased, and would not hesitate to dine there again. Would easily recommend it for families, and would even more strongly recommend it for those without children (which appeared to be most of the other diners when we were there).
My family & I went to Hollywood & Vine for the character lunch buffet on 10/25/11. We are pretty easy going people, and our children (5 & 4) are generally easy to please (especially with characters involed!), but this experience was not good. none of us enjoyed it. The food was downright awful. Many of the foods were salty, meats were grainy, and the texture of most foods was just plain displeasing. Worth reiterating again, that we're not a very picky bunch (it's not like we're intense food critics, we just want a good meal !). To make matters a bit worse -- the kids were also upset with only 1 character visiting our table in the course of a little over an hour. Tough to explain to a 4 & 5 year old, why the characters are visitng everyone else, and not us. The server was great, however, and went the extra mile to even have the other 3 characters visit our table before we left. That was a very nice, unsolicited, gesture on his part. And was much appreciated in at least somewhat salvaging an overall bad experience. We have some friends that ate at Hollywood & Vine a few months back, and they also had a bad experience. But, we're of the opinion that we'll check it ourselves, and generate our own opinions. Well, unfortunately, we have to agree with them. Easily the worst (and frankly, the only bad) dining experience that we've had in our 3 visits to Disney over the last few years. Would not recommend
What was the purpose of this ride?!?!,!,!!?!?
A great coaster for the whole family
My family & I had lunch at Raglan Road on 10/28/11, and had a very good experience. The food was good & hearty for lunch, and the kids enjoyed there meals as well. Our server was very personable, and made sure the kids were entertained & happy. Nice touch We weren't sure if the bar-type atmosphere would be a good choice with a 4 & 5 year old, but it worked out great, and everyone was happy. Would recommend it as a good choice for lunch. And (for the adults of course!) would also highly recommend the beer samplers
My family & I had lunch at the Liberty Tree Tavern on 10/24/11, and it was very good. I had a fish of the day special (Rainbow Trout), which was well-prepared, and tasty. My wife had the seafood pasta, which was not only good, but an enormous portion that she barely put a dent into! The kids really enjoyed there food, and our server, Samira, was awesome. Really top notch service, even though it was so busy that it seemed like chaos -- she never made us feel rushed or unimportant -- it was actually quite the opposite. Terrific experience, and would easily recommend for a good, hearty lunch! 8 on the food 9 on the value 10 on the service (which of course varies) Would ideally give an 8.5 overall, if I could
We took our 4 & 5 year old (boy & girl) for dinner (10/28/11), and they loved meeting all the princesses (Our son kissed everyone of them on the cheek, and they were all great sports about it!). They took time for pictures, and chatted with us quite a bit, even though the restaurant was busy. For those that have experienced Disney before -- you know that's a big part of the fun & the memories! Very nicely done My wife, and I had that traditional Kjottake. Which was very good, and very filling (pairs well with a crisp, cold Carlsberg as well!). The kids enjoyed their meals, and we all left happy & satisfied. There's no doubt that it's a bit pricey, but it's all about the kids & the experience ... and it did not disappoint. Our daughter also got an awesome 5x7 picture with her & Belle, as well as some additional pics, which came out incredible. Would recommend without hesitation.
My family & I had dinner at the Garden Grill on 10/23/11. It was a good experience, and the kids really got a kick out of the characters & the rotating dining experience (which takes about an hour to complete a full rotation -- slow enough that it certainly wouldn't make someone uncomfortable or ill). The food was okay, and the service was very friendly. The atmosphere was good, the food just okay, but the kids really enjoyed it ... and in our book, that's what Disney is all about with a 4 & 5 year old ... so we'd give it a 7 overall. A great place to go with little ones, but if it was just my wife & I, we'd skip it.
My family & I had dinner at the Captain's Grille on 10/22/2011, and we had a great experience. The service and food were terrific, and the menu options for the adults & children were to our liking. The ribeye steak was flavorful & well-prepared, the mussels were a nice appetizer, the dessert was rich, and the kids meals were out quickly -- which is always good with a tired 4 & 5 year old ! We would definitely recommend it for a casual to slightly-nicer-then-casual dinner experience.
We had a dinner ADR for here on Saturday 10/29/11. The MK was very busy that night. Our ADR was for 7:10 and didn't get seated until 7:35pm. Our server, Kristin was great though. I had the chicken parm, which was good, but nothing special. My fiance at the Seafood Diavolo, which he loved. Our friends had the steak and lasagna. The lasagna was good but the steak was only okay. The best part is that we were seated on the Terrace and were able to watch the 8pm MSEP while dining.
We had a lunch ADR for here on Friday 10/28/11. The colony salad was very good and fresh, with a nice mix of greens, chicken, nuts, craisins, apples, and cheddar. My fiance had the Tri-corner sandwich which he said he liked.
We had dinner here on Thursday 10/27/11 -- ADR for 7:50pm. We started with the trio of Kouzzina spreads (tzatziki, eggplant, and whipped feta). The whipped feta was incredible!! My fiance got the cinnamon-stewed chicken which he absolutely loved, while I had the pastitsio (Greek-style lasagna). The lasagna was also very good and very filling -- a good comfort food. I proposed to my boyfriend while dining here and the staff arranged for a special chocolate dessert for us which was very sweet, otherwise we would have had the donuts. Also, try an ouzo-tini!
We had lunch here on Thursday 10/27/11. We were about 15 minutes early for our ADR and only had to wait a few minutes to be seated. My fiance got the prix-fix menu: lobster bisque, croque monsieur, and profiteroles, while I had the onion soup and florentine crepe. He raved about the lobster bisque! My crepe was very delicious and huge! I took half of it back to the hotel. We booked a 1:20 ADR in hopes of seeing Remy come by...and he did! He's very cute! How do they make that work? Only negative is that our server kept pushing alcoholic beverages, when we didn't want to order any at the time.
I like the conception of hyperion wharf, last year i thought pleasure island looked tired and this artists impressions looks very exciting, hope it comes off.
I have no idea why Disney had intentions for demolishing this attraction. It was a truly magical experience since you first walked into sliding doors. Sure it's a little corny, but the nostalgia factor on this ride was gigantic! I was so surprised that Disney removed this ride! It's like the Pirates of the Caribbean of Epcot. Seriously disney what were you thinking? I loved the orange smell on the ride, very similar to the smell in Soarin'. The least Disney could do is release some commemorative merchandise of the ride.
It was amazing how this ride made you actually feel like you were launching into space! You could feel your face literally being pulled back. Great for thrill lovers! I strongly suggest the Green-or milder version, for the kids and seniors. I also like this ride because there is hardly a wait time.
Don't be fooled! This attraction is basically a preview for an old movie, and I'm very happy this attraction closed down. It really was a waste of space.
Sure the ride gives you a taste of thrill, but much of the effects I remember from this ride don't work anymore. (especially the last incline.) But it's a really fun ride, and if you don't remember the old one then you'll find it to be perfect. Be warned cause this here's the wildest ride in the wilderness!
This show is my childhood. I swear the Country Bear Jamboree has always been a tradition to visit once during my Walt Disney World vacations! Now as a regular (visiting WDW almost 5 times a month) I haven't really visited the Jamboree in a while. So I decided to see the show. It was even better! It's one of those rides that grow on you when you grow up. The Country Bears holds a special place in my heart. Hopefully this attraction will never leave, and I really do hope they bring back the Christmas special!
We used Kingdom Strollers on our recent visit and we super pleased! We loved that we could order a case of water when we placed our stroller order. The process was super easy, and when I called with a question the owner answered! He was prompt to reply to all questions and great to deal with. Would highly recommend!
I visited MK on New Years Eve 2006 and we stayed there all night. We got choosen to go up on the front lawn of Cinderella's Castle and be filmed for the countdown! It was amazing! We got gold commemorative Mickey ears and had an awesome memory to take with us. The castle, everything, looked fantastic as usual and everything was pure magic for the Christmas season. MK is a dry park, so we did have to smuggle in some celebratory wine...:)
I went to Disney during the Christmas season around 2006 and it was nothing short of MAGICAL. Epcot looked amazing as usual, as did all the other parks. The bridge between the main part of Epcot and the World was decorated in dancing lights...it was really eye catching. Just sitting out and looking around at Epcot makes you feel warm inside and adds the extra touch of joy for the holidays.
We stayed at the CSR this May 2011, and not only is the hotel 10 times better than I had anticipated but the food court area/restaurants were excellent too! We went to Maya Grill for breakfast on the morning of Cinco de Mayo, it was great for breakfast...I only wish we could try lunch or dinner to get more of a feel, but it was a good breakfast. My boyfriend LOVED loved the coffee! They were nice enough to make us one to go after we were finished, no charge! So sweet. The decor is great inside...huge high ceilings, stone decor/walls and little Mayan touches. Great view of the lake and outside. I love CSR and this was just one more thing on the list of things to like :)
We went here on Cinco de Mayo this year (2011)...It was such a NEAT little (literally) hole in the wall bar. The only downside was it was super small and VERY crowded and the set up is not really logical but other than that it was so fun, GREAT tortillas, guacamole and salsa! Tons of fun if you are ok with standing/bar type crowd. Que delicioso!
This restaurant was very cool inside, we got a seat by the window facing the tent for La Nouba and the Characters in Flight balloon, also VERY cool! Amazing view. The food was very creative, I got Swordfish Sliders, which were delicious. The drinks and apps were fantastic. We liked it so much the night we had dinner, we came back a few days later the day we were leaving and had lunch. Super friendly staff too. Loved it!
We ended up eating at this restaurant after we went to the Swan and Dolphin on a whim. It's very nice atmosphere, nice lounge/bar area, cozy with a nice view of the outside courtyard area. We had a great meal, as always is Disney, little pricey, but it was great over all. They offered us free Limoncello at the end of our meal...not my favorite. Very acidic and sweet. But overall it was romantic, nice decor.
First time we tried Caseys was when our flight was delayed from Scotland,we arrived at Sanford around 7.00pm,got to our Disney Hotel around 8.30pm,and arrived at MK around 10.00pm,just in time for Wishes.Ill always remember watching my sons face(six at the time)covered in onions and ketchup, and watching the fireworks. We were starving, and these dogs and fries with coke just seemed to fit in with the show,so every year since then,we always make a date for dogs, fries, coke, and Wishes.
We ran in here due to a thunderstorm and decided on an early lunch and were glad we did,it looked very dirty at first with lots of tables with half empty trays etc,but when we got our food it was very enjoyable indeed. The big plus was the fixin bar,it had everything including mushrooms.
Well what can i say,the memorbilla stuff was fun to look at but theres where it ended. The food was pretty poor, even the rain was comming thro the ceiling at a thunderstorm from outside.(hold on,was that a special effect)i wont run it down too much incase the big man and Bruce come looking for me.
Stayed at POFQ before PORS.(now our fav)and no complaints, well maybe just one wee one.In 2006 they did a large spicy pizza with chillies, and last year we decided to walk along riverside to food court at POFQ.the CM saw me looking at the pizza menu and i asked wheres the spicy pizza gone?"never done a spicy pizza "she told me.OH yeh,i had it in 2006,lots of green chillies on it."ah,that would have been gherkins on it"she replied.Mmmm, ive been a chef for 35 years and thats the first time the tears rolled down my face without touching a chilli.Lucky for the CM i wasnt Gordon Ramsay eh.
For heavens sake, dont let Disney know that its that good or the prices will soar like soarin, which is when we discovered this restaurant while waiting for our FP ticket for soarin to click in.Whoop de whoop, this has got to be one of the best CS at WDW.A must when visiting Epcot,so many good things on the various menus,we have been many times and yet to find a complaint, remember if you do eat here.Ssssh.
Theres quite a lot of good restaurants in this area, and this is one we always try to get to,never had a bad meal yet, service is good, lots of choices, good prices, and seating area is not bad at all.Just hope that in 2012 it puts its name back for the dining plan,as yet its not on it,heres hoping.
What the !!!.we stopped for three fish suppers one night(we live on the seafront in Scotland)and theres fish n chips shops abound.Theres no way Jesus would have fed his following with these portions, unless he came up with another miracle, honest,if i caught this so called fish back home,i would have flung it back in the sea.Now it was three years ago, so maybe Nemo has got bigger, lets hope so.
No need to explain what they sell in here, see menu, its excellent, have been many times and yet to disappoint.great first thing in the morning just after the rope drop.
It can be very hot in july and when you see old glory gently waving in the little breeze that there is,then pop into ole Liberty Inn for a burger and fries,or dog, nice sandwichs also, and theres a fixin bar, what more could you to take the pressure off your feet.ok so its not the tops but if its a quick lunch your needing,i reckon you wont be disappointed.
Now if we had a place like this back home, alot of bakeries would be shutting doors, everything, and i mean everything here is soooo good, and fresh. If someones had a bad meal here, their either way too fussy or their having a moody day, trust me,if your in Downtown and like a variety of sandwich, head for the Earl.
Look,if your wanting a quick foodie fill and are on the go,and not looking for fine cusine, then Backlot does what it says on the tin, kids will enjoy it more than adults but hey, your on vacation, grab a burger and enjoy the noise.
Yeh,I know, keep your elbows off the table, and eat your greens,so what does that tell you,its great for familys, good food, good choice, great atmosphere,a must if its your first visit to WDW.I wont go thro the dishes we had(been twice)but cant complain, everything was really nice and our server was even more nuttier than iam,and thats saying something.
Have stayed here twice and love the food court(more choice than pofq)the make your own pasta station is a great idea, watch out tho the portion is huge, and the carving station is also good. Were early birds(up around 6.45am)so the breakfast area is soooo quiet, and the big pizza for takeaway if you happen to be that hungry late on, is a great way to finnish off your day at the parks.all in all, from the muffaletta to pizzas, from pastas to meat salads,a great choice.
Ok,I know its not creme d la creme, but the atmosphere and bustle make it a great family night out(no need to whisper in this restaurant)we started with a stack of onion rings(huge)steaks and ribs(huge)volcano sweet(mega huge)wheres my dietician?so if youre looking for fun, average food, big portions, and a noisy night out with the family, you wont be disappointed.
Now when i go abroad, no matter where,Europe or good ole USA,i do as the romans do,enjoy their cusine.(in other words if iam in Greece i dont look for fish and chips)so when i booked the Rose And Crown,i knew roughly what the food would be,the usual run of the mill, bland british grub, but taken that all in,i was very pleased with the choice, presentation, and tastes of all we had to eat, what made it more exciting was the fact i knew one of the waiters from our home town in Scotland and he got us priority seating at the front of the seas for illuminations. That said it was good value for money, and drinks were a resonable price.
Well what can i say,i work as a chef back home in Scotland, and food is my life, so this adr was one i was looking forward to the most, and guess what?it didnt disappoint, infact its up there in my top ten restaurants of world, including this years visit to a world renown restaurant in Dubai,($535 for three of us)not including tip.Anyway from starters to mains, oak age fillets with mac and cheese,to sweets and wine, the service was first class,we were celebrating our wedding anniversary,we even got a card signed by the chef and members of the staff, not forgetting a free bottle of bubbly,a night to remember. If theres one restaurant in WDW you want to try, then book Jikos, you will not be disappointed.
I reckon ill disappoint the restaurants regulars with this comment, but we were far from satisfied. You know what its like, you read all the hype about a place, and then you leave wondering,is that it?.well the seat we got for three of us was right at the door.(we booked 6 months in advance)the signature soup starter was very good but thats where it went all downhill,my sons steak was very average, and our signature fillets were also average, ive had steaks from visits to Texas, and Vegas, also L.A.but this was way down our list,i love Canada(emigrated to Montreal in 74,came home 75)but iam afraid out of our five adrs, this was the only one we didnt enjoy and we wont be back.
Love cajun food,(chilli head)this is a fav of ours, everything from meatloaf to jambalaya is good, but portions are BIG.Good selections of wine at reasonable prices, only downside is it can be very loud, but hey, what the h...its Downtown Disney,so enjoy the atmosphere.
We discovered this restaurant on our third visit in 2008 after reading reviews,we love it,lots of things to try, getting away from burgers and dogs,if it looks busy inside, dont panic, theres lots of seating upstairs,we like to sit at the window overlooking haunted mansion, try it,you wont be disappointed
I love this ride. Went on it twice last visit!
Education and fun all in one!
The Bears never get old!!
My family and I just returned from our trip to FL. We only went to one park this time since my children are 6 and 2. I had looked online at the strollers for Disney World and they looked a little uncomfortable so I was referred by a friend to look at other stroller rental companies in Orlando. I checked first with Magic Strollers but they could not deliver to the hotel we were staying in on the outskirts of Orlando. So I went back online and found Kingdom Strollers. They will deliver to any hotel in the Orlando area! I easily made my reservation online and my stroller was at the hotel waiting for me. A day prior to our departure my son came down with a 103 temp and I e-mailed Kingdom to see if I could delay our rental by one day since we were delaying our trip by one day. He had already delivered it to the hotel and said no worries, just keep it an extra day, we have kids and we know what it's like. Wow! What great customer service. And let me also mention that they are very quick to respond to e-mails. Way to take care of the customer! Our stroller was perfect. A very comfy strollers that my kids were able to get rest in and it was so nice not having to empty the stroller before we left the park. We just wheeled our kids and stuff to the car! We will definitely use them on our next visit to Orlando! Highly recommend!
This is not ground breaking by any means. However, if you ever saw this as a kid you'll take quite a nice trip down memory lane. I hadn't seen this since roughly 1992, and I got to see it again this year. I was thrilled, and I felt like a 12 year old again.
It's so bad, they pin you to your seat so you can't leave.
The price was good. Not too expensive. But the thing that made me the most angry were the busses. They were always so crowded. I couldn't stand them! And my neighbors had pests in their room!
We had a reservation and showed up a bit early for it, and we were seated early as well, which was nice. However, from there, we felt very rushed. We had plenty of time to see the menu before the waiter came, and he asked if we were ready to order right away. We ordered, and no more than 5 minutes later, out came our food. The food was average, and our bill was brought out while we were eating. I think we were in and out in 20 minutes; so we had a counter service meal for a table service price. I would give it another chance, but wasn't too impressed with our last visit.
This was my first time dining in the new La Hacienda, and I have to say it impressed me. I had the La Hacienda mixed grill, and everything on the plate was delicious. The portion size was just right, the food came out in a reasonable time, and all the flavors were great. The dining room was very nice, with a casual feel that felt perfect for the food being served. Service was extremely friendly, but our server could have been a bit more generous on the drink refills. The cost was inline with all the other World Showcase restaurants, so does not offer particularly good value for money. I would certainly go back, and I recommend you give it a try.
My wife and I just got back from a recent 5 day trip from WDW. We stayed at the Coronado Springs Resort for the first time and truly enjoyed it. We have stayed at all the Moderate Resorts and the Coronado Springs is by far the best. The rooms are new, the grounds are beautiful and clean, the pool was nice, the gift shop had many great finds, and they had fantastic bar and quick bites. If you are driving to the parks, Coronado is extremely close to all of them with a quick 5 min drive. The only negative might be they have a lot of convention goers as it is a large convertion center. I would stay here again and recommend it to anyone looking to stay at a more cost effective Disney resort.
I was a big fan on this place since its remodel, but on a recent visit last week I have had a change of view. I waited 25 minutes for 2 pizzas, which were not particularly hot and were undercooked (floppy crust). The toppings were also quite sparse for a $17 pizza. The servers were running all over the place with food looking for tables, and it was overall not a good experience. Also noted that the menu has been significantly reduced over the years. Still better than some options at DTD, but no longer a safe bet for me.
The Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique is an experience you CANNOT miss in Walt DIsney World Resort if you have a young girl. The place itself is magical! You will get to choose from a few hairstyles to get done (which are all great). Then, they will do the makeup. They honestly do a great job on every girl. My sister has the curliest, most unmanageable hair, and they managed to get ALL of it in a cute bun. It takes the stylists such a short amount of time to do an absolutely wonderful job on each girl. It is located in a beautiful room just inside Cinderella's Castle. I must say the cost for everything is a little bit expensive. A good idea is to have your child wear her own princess dress to the boutique. You will save a lot of money by doing so. I suggest doing it early in the morning. This way, your child will be able to embrace this makeover all day. Once your done at the boutique, they will give you a bag filled with tons of fun things such as, a makeup pallet, a sash, stickers, and much more. My sister must've gotten at least twenty compliments from random people walking around the parks all day. One of the funnest things about this experience is that, later on in the day, you can go to the store, "Tinkerbell's Treasures" and get your child's picture taken from a photographer, which comes out FANTASTIC. I highly recommend this experience.

We visited Via Napoli on September 6, 2011 with a group of 9. My husband and I had gone for lunch in November of 2010 and wanted to share the awesome food with our kids. We celebrated our twins birthday there that night and had a blast. A few of us had the family salad which is $5 a person and very good. I had my favorite margherita pizza and so did 4 others in my group. We love the wood fired pizza. It gives it a flavor you can't get from Americanized pizza. My husband and our friend both don't really like pizza but they love this pizza! For dessert I had the pistachio gelato and it was sooooo good. I dream about this pizza.
The new burgers/fries are really good and can't beat the drink refills. Will definately spend a CS her next trip to DHS!
How can you not love a place that accepts a snack credit for the ice cream sandwich! Hand scooped ice cream between two giant chocolate chip cookies! WOW! It's the best treat at WDW IMO. Not to mention the funnel cakes are also wonderful. Dino Bites in Animal Kingdom WON'T let you use your snack credit for an ice cream sandwich so up yours Dino Bites!
We never miss a couple of visits to this super place. Great pastries, specialty sandwiches, and desserts. A can't miss IMO!
My wife is a hummus, baklava kind of girl and enjoys this type of food so we always eat here. Actually it is very tasty and plentiful and the CM's are great.
Enough said in the summary.
With all the talk of improving Pleasure Island, Marketplace etc. they put in this fast food meca? What a bummer, this belongs in the Six flags area. Small, tastless portions that don't measure up to a kid's meal. And to top it off they have this Baby Cakes niche in the corner trying to pull off some kind of expensive designer cupcake spot. What a joke! With the great cupcakes we enjoyed at several Disney locations, Starring Rolls for example, this is a disgrace! Disney needs to pull the contract on this. Bring back Mickey D's if you want fast food!
It's a loud dining experience run by young adults wishing they were someplace else so what do you expect. The memorabilia is interesting to view but you have to sit on someone's lap to see a lot of it. The food isn't bad, big portions.
Great selection of great tasting treats! Cinnamon rolls are wonderful. Now, if only the CM's would smile once in a while and not act as if you were putting them out to serve you, it would seem like you're in an old fashon bakery and be a very pleasant Disney experience!
Enjoyed another superb filet last week at this unique restaurant. Starting with a tasty cheese soup, which was a little salty for us, actually was a great dip for the 3 bread selection provided. The filet was cooked to perfection on a bed of mushroom risotto which was delightful. A nice red wine selection topped off the best meal we experienced during our week stay in The World. A 10 in our books!
Stopped by the Norway bakery and was surprised to find a great selection of unusual food that tasted great. Our roast beef/cheese sandwich was really good followed by a pretzel of some sort that I would go for again and again. My recommendation!
Had the seafood buffet last week and while it was OK I'm glad I had a restaurant.com certificate to offset my disappointment. The fried stuff was good, usually is hidden in the batter, but the lobster was obviously prepared early in the day to prepare for the evening rush and tasted like it. Rubbery, tough, tasteless. The crab legs were dried out and hard to enjoy. Getting a mouthfull of crab leg meat from crabs harvested in their infancy is very difficult. The seasoned, boiled peel and eat shrimp was good as well as the desserts! Made the trip better. They also DON'T take a Disney gift card or your Disney room card for payment. Seems they just use the Disney name to attract you to their Walt Disney World Resort. My money goes to a real WDW restaurant next time. Good luck!
The ribs & chicken are very good and always enjoyed. I can't imagine going to Animal kingdom and not diving into a Flame Tree BBQ plate.
Had the chicken & ribs twice last week and enjoyed both times very much. One time the ribs were smaller pork ribs and I think better than the larger beef ribs. Good change from the other park fare.
We have been to The World many times but always passed on this restaurant for really no reason. We now know we have made many mistakes by not frequenting this great place. The sandwiches are tasty, large and healthy. Atmosphere appealing. Service great as usual at WDW. Hope you give it a try and enjoy as well.
We looked forward to eating here last week from the reviews but were somewhat disappointed. We used our counter service dining plan but were restricted to basically only a cookie as our dessert choice, the fried candy "Doh-Bar" we had looked forward to trying or ice cream was off limits to us according to the stone-faced counter helper. We ordered the chicken and mushroom pie which was OK but basically a 3-4" high baked crust with about a half cup of chicken soup in it. Frozen pot pie was a strong competitor. The "chips" or french fries were good and really comprised the meal. Hope you find it a more pleasant experience.
Great food, nice service, comfortable atmosphere. These people are totally different from the snobs at the Westside Wolfgang Express. I highly recommend the Marketplace location!
We recently returned from our trip to Disney World and used www.orlandostrollerstogo.com a local stroller rental company. The company was great!!! After researching what strollers Disney rents and wanting our children to be comfortable while riding (just google Disney World stroller pics) we settled on this company. The stroller was waiting for us when we checked in to The Animal Kingdom Lodge along with detailed instructions on how to fold/unfold the stroller. It was awesome (we rented a Phil & Ted Tandem), not only was our two children 4 and 6 comfortable it was a breeze to push through the parks. We even got compliments for other parents in the parks about the strollee. Did I mention how nice it was to push our sleeping children out of the parks right to our car without having to wake them up. :) It was clean and in good shape. Had plenty of storage but no cup holder or storage tray. When we checked out we just left it with the bell hops, Super easy. Highly recommend them and will use them again next year.
Seriously some of the best food there. Definitely try the turkey. It tastes the same ( maybe even better) than liberty at MK.
Our last stay here at The Boardwalk Inn was in 2007. It was the most enjoyable time ever. We stayed in the Club Level Rooms, and everyone there was accommodating, friendly, helpful, and caring! They went out of their way to make sure everything was fine and we were happy. The staff always had a smile and suggestions if we needed them. They took the time to ask how our day was and what we did. They were interested in us as individual guests. The room was clean & comfortable. The food from the Club was excellent and there was always plenty. I would definitely recommend The Boardwalk and return to it as well. We have stayed there in the past, and we have always loved it! Thanks for always making it MAGICAL!
It's a very good touristic place to spend some time and it's not a tipical teppan place. Small portions and a short show of the chef and that's it. Not worth of the money.
Even though there were lots of people, we got in at our reservation time. The food was very good. There were plenty of items to chose from.
We ate at the Pepper Market several times during our stay at Coronado Springs. The food was good and the portions were large. The breakfast burrito I had could have fed 2 people.
The Treehouse is an essential Adventureland experience. If Tomorrowland has a futuristic, magnetised, automated transport to show you the land from above, Adventureland has got exploration on foot, and glimpses through the exotic treetop over the neighboring land. Great fun, a must see for those with an appetite for exploration and an appreciation of detail.
My wife and I were not sure if we chose the right resort after we read some of the negative reviews about Coronado Springs. Boy were we glad we stayed there. We were a little worried when we ended up in the Ranchos section. It was a little walk to El Centro, but not bad and beautiful scenery all the way there. The main pool and our bus stop we very close to our room, and you could get food and fill your drink cup at the pool. We only went to the main part of the resort 3 or 4 times. Our room was perfect. We didn't go to Disney World to hang out in our room all day, so it was just what we needed. It was clean, the bed was very comfortable and the air conditioning kept it nice and cool. The maids made funny little towel creatures for us each day and gave us new towels, coffee, etc.. when we needed them. We ate at the Maya Grill and the Pepper Market. Both place were very good. All in all it was the perfect place for us to stay. I really didn't see any of the things that the people who wrote the negative reviews saw. Maybe they were written by Universal Studios employees trying to make Disney World look bad!!
My wife and I had breakfast at Kouzzina's on our first day at Disney World. What a great place to start. The food was amazing and the service was great. We will go again on our next visit.
My wife and I decided to visit the Brown Derby for our 30th anniversary. We made resevations 3 months in advance. We showed up at 5:30 for a 5:45 reservation. We didn't get seated until 6:30. We may as well been eating in a cafeteria. Even though there were seats around the edge of the restaurant that would have been a little bit more private, we were stuck in the middle so close to other people that we couldn't hardly talk to each other. Once we ordered it was 25 minutes before our food showed up. It was ok, but not nearly worth 2 meals on the dining plan. We ate at 5 different sit down restaurants during our visit. We saved this for last because we thought it would be the best. It was not. We won't go back.
My wife and I both loved the entertainment, the food, and meeting the people that were at our table. We will most likely eat here again on future visits.
The mini donuts a Typhoon Lagoon are HEAVENLY! My husband and girls just couldn't stop talking about them. Eventhough we weren't returning to TL the next day, we seriously contemplated going to the gate and begging a CM to go and purchase some for us! They were pricey but I'd buy them again, without hesitation.
Now that the water cannons are turned off It's not Quite Splash anymore..more like Trickle Mt. is more appropriate. Very disappointed with Splash now. They took away the funnest part of the ride!
I'm sure EVERYONE does not agree with my own opinion, but.. I just hate this ride. Partly because of the ride it replaced, and boring to me
This ride is actually really quite fun, but ONLY when it's really hot outside and you're finding a place to cool off. Most people don't like this ride, probably because they don't ever feel like getting soaked, it's really fun tho. You can't find a better rapids ride at any other theme park. Well, maybe at Island of Adventure...
In all reviews, I would love to say that it's a nice, slow, relaxing ride. Like the former ride it replaced. Unfortunately, the loud sound of Donald and his two companions are filled through the whole ride. You're hearing Donald Duck all over the place and it's just so hectic in sound. The sound is just bunched up in the whole attraction.
You won't even know that you're being educated on this ride. Featuring three things that you would never expect to see in a theme park ride: Jeapordy, Ellen, and Bill Nye the Science Guy. You have to like Ellen (or have a sense of humor) to actually like this. Otherwise, you just won't. You shouldn't take the people who say that it's "boring" or "what it used to be was awesome" when it's the opposite. What it replaced was actually more boring than the current, and the old one was boring. Truly funny, could be updated a tad tho.
This ride is absolutely amazing! Despite what some people will say. Rule #1: You must not be afraid of the dark. Rule #2: You must like to be jerked around like most thrill rides. Rule #3: You must love the fact that huge dinosaurs are trying to kill you. (=
Now that we have a new version of a shooting Toy Story attraction (Toy Story Mania in Hollywood Studios), this should be changed to a new dark ride. Honestly, it's pretty outdated. Otherwise if you dont compared it to Toy Story Mania, it's pretty fun.
Why is this even considered an attraction? Nothing to do but observe some medal heads. What the heck is the point of this? A small stage show could easily go here, this is nice to walk past but is otherwise pointless.
Short. Fun. Awesome. "The Wildest Ride in the Wilderness!" This ride looks alot more fun than just looking at it from the path/queue line. Tho the chain life is very loud in the cave part, and a few effects are missing, causing my rating to go down a little bit.
Really high! Beautiful sights and actually entertaining. The best version out of Dumbo, The Magic Carpets of Aladdin, and Triceratop Spin
We decided to try this at the last minute and so glad we did. My wife had and the Salmon and I had the Rosemary Pork chop. My wife says the salmon was perfectly cooked. My pork chop was not only very tasty but very moist. The bacon palenta balanced the meat perfectly. William, our waiter was great as well. We will surely go back during our next visit.
We visited on the last day of our recent vacation. Looked forward to it all week. Honestly, we were let down. Food was not bad, but wasn't great either. Food was somewhat bland or not something that we enjoyed. Our waitress was not very personable nor attentive. All around disappointment for us. Not sure we'll be back.
I love All-Star Movies is great place for any age and i can't wait to stay in the Fantasia theme! I can't wait for Dec 2011 to come! I will enjoy it!
So we planned for over a year to go to Disney World and we made the decision to stay in park for the very first time (I have been to Disney five other times since I was a child and never stayed in park) and we were so excited. However Coronado Springs is disappointing in every way. No one at the resort had that Disney "Magical" service. When we first arrived we were given our room and told we could take a "bus" to get there or we could walk. Our first thought was, "How big is this place?" Well our room was about 3/4 of a mile from the front desk and all of the ammenities and restaurants. When we finally were ready to leave for the parks, the bus stations were not clearly marked and the directions of "Oh it is just through there," were vague and not at all helpful. We were drenched and hungry. We had no place to go because we didn't wish to walk 3/4 of a mile in the pouring rain to get food. The kids choices in the menu at the Bell Pepper cafe are limited. Everything closes down at midnight so don't expect to be able to come back from the parks and get anything to eat. Our first maid did nothing magical to the room or the stuffed friends that my children accumulated. Our second maid did her best to add the magical touch and we appreciated it and tipped her well. The manager did move us on our fourth day after we complained about being so far away but that was about the most helpful the staff got. The night crew is awful. They gave us wrong information so many times, at one point, actually costing us money as they gave us the wrong information on the shuttles. The main pool is nice but the slide and all close down at ten. However they do leave the pool open till about five. We tried to get in in the morning but the one day we had time, it was closed for life guard training. The front desk was unaware of it and told us after we informed them of the training that it would be open at 10. So we got dressed and went to the game room to use our complinmentary 100 point card. (The games are fifty to one hundred points a piece!) By the time we were down at the pool at 8:45, it was open to everyone. So the front desk again gave us the wrong infortmation and we never got to use the pool with all of its amenities. The gift shop is nice but would be helpful if it actually had more basic necessities like a little make-up or brushes - the things you forget. The rooms have six small sock drawers which do not hold all of your clothes if you have a family of four, but as a bonus - we had someone else's underwear in our bottom drawer (BLAH!) The bathrooms are small. There is a changing room behind french doors where the sink is and that is huge but the toilet and shower are really clustered together so if you are claustrophobic - avoid the hotel all together. Oh and we needed to check out email and wanted to go to the business center, forget it! It is only open from 7 until 7 and they CHARGE you to use the computers. I have stayed in motels that have computer access for free. I spoke to other people at other resorts and they all shook their heads knowingly when I mentioned I was staying at the Coronado and that we were not happy. After staying at the Coronado, I am not sure that I will ever do another Disney Resort again.
On my first trip to Disney World in 2003 my family ate here and loved it. We go to Disney World every 2 years and we always try to make it here. This year we had the free dining so we decided to eat here, we were sat at our table almost as soon as we walked in. Our server was nice and friendly. The food was amazing as expected. I had the turkey dinner, my parents had the pot roast, and my vegetarian sister had the veggie pot pie. The dessert was just as good as the entree, my sister talked about how amazing her cherry crisp was the whole vacation. The service was quick but we never felt rushed. Overall this resturant is a great place to eat good food in a well decorated environment.
I have just returned from my honeymoon and we booked the tour as we are both huge Disney fans and really thought this would improve our knowledge. However, our 22 year old 'guide' who had only worked for the company for 6 years told us nothing we did not already know. Like in previous reviews they do talk about the windows on Main Street, and hidden Mickeys and signatures etc from Imagineers, but nothing new that we didnt already know. I have read countless books on the history and the magic of the Disney parks and at one point I felt like I was informing our guide. I was staggered to see how some apparent Disney fans were amazed by information that is readily available in books and on the internet?! I felt this was a huge waste of $$$ and time at the parks, much cheaper to buy The Hidden Magic of Disney book by Susan Venness, I really thought that you would reaaly get an insight into the working of the parks and a real behind the scenes look at the working of the rides etc, and yes there is an $8 lunch included! Not bad for $75 each!
My parents and I took the tour October 2010, during MNSSHP. We have frequented Disney many times and this was a must see for us once we heard about it. I was not aware that lunch was included, so this was a bonus when we arrived! Lunch was delicious. The only negative is that you have to use a park admission as well as pay for your tour. We took the earliest tour and entered the MK when no one else was around. We checked in and when the tour started, we strolled down Main Street, learning about the "show" and our tour guide pointed out all the different windows above the shops. To the right abotu halfway down Main Street, we sat and he asked us what our most favorite job would be on the WDW resort. As the park opened for the day, hundreds of people ran past where we were sitting. Afterwards, we meandered down Main Street again and then rode Pirates and Jungle Cruise. Our guide told us all kinds of information that we would not have known. He pointed out some hidden Mickey's and threw in other tidbits. After we rode Pirates, we walked backstage to look at the parade floats. They were practicing for the Christmas parade and the old signs and stuff were so cool to see! Think Mickey's Birthdayland. When we were walking backstage in Frontierland, we passed Jessie and Woody doing a meet and greet. While our guide was explaining that they have to be in character until the yellow line and can only take off their costumes after they get past the fence, Woody and Jessie took off their costumes and they were two men hankering for a cigarette! So glad they have plastic smiles on their faces. It just made us realize that even though they are always smiling, they are always waving and dancing too. That they actually have to do. The Utilidors were amazing, even though our video kept skipping. When we were leaving the Utilidors, the afternoon parade came by on its way to Main Street, so we got a personal wave from all the cast members. Overall, it made the magic even more special because you realize how much work actually goes into the flawless Disney experience. A must see!!
We stopped in for lunch on a whim, because we were about to ride the Haunted Mansion which is right across from it. When we walked in a man working there named Chris asked if anyone was celebrating anything. My wife spoke up and told him it was my 30th birthday, which it was. He then announced it to the entire crowd and sang me a birthday song. After that Chris took us to the front of the line and told us we were his VIP guest and he was going to wait on us hand and foot. It was amazing. The fried fish we both ordered was great. But the real surprise was a vegetarian chili that was probably the best chili I've ever had! It was a great experience and a birthday I will never forget.
Aside from the fact that the tables are waaaaaaaay to close to each other and the portions are very small for the expensive price that you pay, I can't complain about the food. Everything my wife and I had was excellent! I just wish there was a little more bang for your many bucks that you will spend there.
I HAVE BEEN LEAVING MY YELLOW LABRADOR THERE SINCE HE WAS 8 WEEKS OLD.(WHEN HE WAS 8 WEEKS OLD THEY WERE STILL AT THE TRANSPORTATION CENTER). NOW THAT HE IS 2 YEARS OLD, WE STILL TAKE HIM THERE. WE GO ALOT TO DISNEY (BEING ANNUAL PASS HOLDERS). THEY TREAT HIM AS IF HE WAS THIER OWN DOG. HE LOVES IT THERE. HE GETS THE VIP SUITE, AND IT IS REALLY COOL, WE GET TO SEE HIM ON OUR I-PHONE ANYTIME WE WANT. WE HAVE SEEN HIM GETTING A BELLY RUB, PLAYING WITH THEM, WALKING HIM AND OF COURSE AT LIGHTS OUT TIME...AND THE PRICE IS GOOD WE LIVE IN SOUTH FLORIDA AND THEY WANT $125 A DAY (NOT INCLUDING WALKS OR FOOD) BEST FRIENDS PET CARE, SUPPLIES THE FOOD AND WALKS, AND THE BEST PART YOU CAN GO SEE YOUR PET ANYTIME YOU WANT..I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS KENNEL....OH AND A GREAT, WONDERFUL STAFF..SEE YOU REAL SOON..
Last October was my first experience with the Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party. It was the most fantastic event we have ever been to at Disney. Not only did we get to trick-or-treat as adults, which was fun, but the parade, fireworks and villan mix and mingle were just the best. There were characters out that you usually don't see and there were many opportunities for pictures. I just can't say enough about the fireworks and the music. It was just the best atmosphere and fun for kids from 3 to 83. We enjoyed the affects at the Haunted Mansion too. I just have no complaints. We enjoyed it so much we are going twice this year. I can't wait !!
Fort Wilderness is a great campgroud. The sites are large and private and there is plenty of nature for everyone. It is great fun to go around and look at all the decorations especially during the Halloween and Christmas seasons. There are an abundance of activities for everyone in your camping party even if you don't go into the parks. We have been camping there for 11 years now and it only seems to improve each year. The transportation that is proviced by Disney is wonderful and so convenient. The only thing I would like to see change is the price to rent a golf cart. That is a major expense and we feel too much. But I would recommend camping at Fort Wilderness to anyone !!
Wishes is simply incredible. Not only are the fireworks epic, but the narration/story/music/etc. bring all that Disney magic is into one phenomenal, powerful spectacle. A must-do.
Well it is a great place if you love to camp and have fun but be careful if you bring bikes because I my self and other people have had bikes stolen during the night. So be careful and make sure you lock your bike up or you may never see it again. Also be aware that for the cost Disney higher's people to come in and clean the park at night so be careful and not leave anything valuable out others wise that and an unlocked bike won't be the only thing missing. Also be aware that the owners of Fort Wilderness don't really care what's been stolen like your bike for example mine was a 2011 3 series 3500 trek it cost around $300.00 and it was stolen. Well we reported it to the park and they said some kids probably stole it so they didn't have to rent a bike. Really who believes that its was stolen between the times 1 .a.m and 8.a.m and i don't think kids would steal a bike at that time in the morning and then we find out some kid around my same age had his brand new 2011 mongoose bike stolen. How much do you think a brand new Mongoose and a brand new trek same year would cost with no scratches on them? well i would have to guesse some where around $ 500.00 to $600.00. They even said they didn't have a clue who stole them well I don't know maybe the people you higher to clean the park at night. Maybe one of them or all of them are poor and other then there part time job of cleaning places at night they also steal things from there. Also guesse what they never found my bike and we even called the police but who knows where they higher the people who clean the parks from. Orlando, Jacksonville, Daytona beach Who knows????????
Just returned from 8 days at BLT. We had a MK view which was spectacular. We were able to see the fireworks at MK from the room. Also saw the fireworks from the Top of the World Lounge which was excellent. DD loved the slide at the pool and we enjoyed the pool immensely. Especially loved the 5 minute walk to MK. Our usual DVC is at WL. This was a great experience and would recommend to anyone.
If you Love Disney and Halloween this is the event to be at... The two worlds collide for an amazing night of fun. You can dress up in a costume, go trick or treating in the Magic Kingdom, watch the AMAZING Boo to You parade and then the Halloween fire works display. Last year was my first time going to Disney World and I am 40 years old, wnet there for our 1 year wedding annivesary and it was magical. I Love Halloween so it made the time there even more Special. Will be back in October 2011 for my second trip there, 2 year annivesary, oh ya, and The Halloween Party!!!! A MUST do event for everyone who Loves the Holiday!!!!! 10 out of 10
We just arrived home yesterday, and I couldn't wait to post how much we loved CS!! It has so many mixed reviews, so I wanted to add to the positive! We requested a cabana near the parking lot (we drove), and were given EXACTLY what we wanted. We walked in and our room was clean, fresh, and comfortable. No dust anywhere, clean sheets (and mattress-I'm terrified of bedbugs), sparkly bathroom, and no stains on the carpet (our last Disney hotel was not the cleanest). The grounds at Coronado are BEAUTIFUL!! The pool was wonderful as well, and in summer, they had the pool games, music, movies, and campfire, which made it feel like a family resort. We were there 9 days, and 2 days the pool was slightly crowded, but the rest of the week, not too crowded. I can see where conventioners may wish for better wifi, and may not like the larger grounds (I wouldn't want to walk superfar in my business attire in 95 degree heat), but for vacationers, it was ideal (and they do have golf carts to pick people up and bring to the main building). The only downside is the food court-not as many drink options for the refillable mugs (my children wanted hot chocolate), and the "waiter" service-it's a very strange twist when you're getting your own food! We've stayed in 8 resorts, and this is one of our top two!!
All this is, is a glorified music video.. I liked Honey I shrunk the Audience a whole lot better
Splash Mountain is always fun to ride; the only real negative is that sometimes there can be a long wait. The story is great, the drops are great, it cools you off, etc. Just an overall great ride that cant be missed.
Stitchs Great Escape is an alright attraction despite all the hate. I would advise people to check it out at least once; if you hate it, just dont ride again, its that simple.
Though I would never classify it as a masterpiece, it is something to do at least once. Young children tend to like it and find it amusing. And even I enjoy riding it as least once. The song can get stuck in your head long after you have gotten off the ride. And there is nothing overly exciting about the ride itself. Yet, it is a fun and enjoyable ride that is air conditioned. If you are planning your trip during the hot summer months and need a ride to keep you cool, it is a good choice. After the ride there is a interactive fun zone that the kids and even adults can enjoy. And a great place to stay out of the heat and the rain. Ride it... but maybe only once.
I am not one to say anything negative about Walt Disney World, but this attraction is the exception. I ride every ride in the park each time I go. I have been on It's A Small World multiple times in one week. Yet, I can't even go on this once. It is horrible. If you are pressed for time I say DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME. If you have plenty of time I would still say DON' WASTE YOUR TIME. It is by far one of the worst choices Disney has ever made.
This very popular pass is for Florida Residents only. It includes parking and admission to Epcot after 4pm. It is well worth the price.
we decided to try this restaurant after hearing all its good reviews, and we were not let down. the food was absolutely amazing! the server was so kind and helpful, and i never had to ask to get a refill of my drink. i had the lomein and it was some of the best that i have ever had.the egg rolls were delicious as well as the wonton soup! i would definitely go back to this restaurant in a heart beat!
Stayed there with my family back in 2006 during the Holidays. Booked a standard room with a view of the Savannah. I will say that over all the AKL is a beautiful Resort. The decor is wonderful, and the lobby is very impressive. Never in my life had I ever seen anything like it. The rooms are great, very clean, with comfortable beds. I will , however say that they are not big enough for a family of four. I'd probably guess they are as big as a standard room at any of the All Star Resort, but much, much more expensive. I like that they have a great African themed buffet right on property called Boma's. The food is very delicious there! Also, their hop is one of the nicest I've ever seen at any WDW property. I will have to say that I can't and will not give this Resort a perfect 10. The room we requested was not exactly what we got. Yes , it had a view of trees, but not of THE (main) Savannah area, AND we got to see very little animals that were quite far, and not anywhere near our balcony :(
My family and I stayed at the Fort Wilderness Cabins and we had a great time. We arrived quite early in the morning but the staff was very friendly and welcoming anyway, and had a room ready within minutes. The graciously took us , along with our luggage, directly to our cabin on a nice, and comfortable golf cart-like vehicle. The Cabins are big enough to accommodate a family of 5, or 6 if you count the pull out sofa. They are fully furnished, and equipped with anything and everything you may need,a nice living area, a big table including a full service kitchen with a fridge, dishwasher and microwave, as well as a spacious room, a clean restroom and shower areas. We had a cabin that was only a few steps away from Disney's Transportation (buses), a short bus ride to the Campground, and only a few minutes to the Magic Kingdom via boat. Over all I give it a 8 out of 10, only because it's not a more luxurious resort. Wouldn't object to staying there again.
Oct 2010 W/myself (36), Mrs. Myself (31), Little Man (1), My sis in law (27), my in laws (ages???). We had a 2 bedroom villa with vacation club. The hotel is beautiful, gorgeous. The room was excellent. The view was really neat to see the animals even if it was the same animals barely moving for 7 days. The pool was great, parking great etc. Here's my gripe & its a big one. As a seasoned Disney Vet it was I who chose this hotel b/c it was new & the Boardwalk was booked & we had been there before & did not feel like staying @ the old Disney Institute again (aka Saratoga Springs). The issue is the walk. I mean the looooong walk to your room & we weren't even at the end of the hotel, I felt sorry for those folks. From the bus stop to our room was a 12 minute walk! Also the resort was so far removed from the rest of the property save for AK & AKL (Boma) that all bus rides were lengthy. One night coming back from MK we had to take the back roads & go behind the scenes of AK where the holding pens were. It was really neat as the security to ensure the animals don't get out is each gate has almost a drawbridge that raises. I felt like we were entering the Pentagon or something. But I digress, the hotel is very nice but very out of the way & a long walk. Not the locale if you want to go back & let your 1 yr old nap for a bit. You need to plan ahead. So no babies or elderly here as the walk is very inhibiting. PS-Why can't DVC members get free dining like the rest of the on property folks? We pay alot of $$ to belong & we could have stayed @ All star for $79 per night & gotten free dining? That does not make me happy.
I've stayed here twice & am going back in November 2011 for 1 week. The rooms are clean & some rooms have great views. The pool area is great & the staff is very friendly. Being so close to the parks is great too. I always have a blast here & will continue to go. My inlaws own a timeshare here :)
This is the best WDW Hotel I've ever stayed in! My room was right around corner from lobby & there were animals right outside my window. There are a ton of activities at hotel too as well as a cool pool. It is far from some of the parks but worth it in my opinion!
I didn't think the steak was worth the $$$ Our waiter Alfredo was amazing! The pear martini was the best martini i've ever had. They were out of every dessert we picked so we got the one they had for free. great service but I'd skip the steak.....
I always go for lunch here when I can. The burger fries & choc shake are always great. Pricey but good & I love the atmosphere too.
always great service & amazing banana split :) A++++
I've been here 4 times or so. The last time I went I wasn't impressed & I hear it isn't as good as it once was. The scalloped potatoes & bananas flambee are amazing still though :) Just pricey for not loving the food.
we had the crab mousse & filet mignon w/ risotto. OMG it spoiled me! It was the best steak ive ever had in my life! We are going back in November! Cannot wait!!!
I always get the banana split. There is normally a line but it is worth it. You order & they bring to your table. This is in Dtown Disney. Never miss this place! :) YUM!
This is the biggest & busiest fast food place on property. Be prepared to wait in line. The food & service is decent but can get loud & I hate waiting :)
I thought the food was good & it isn't too crowded whenever I've been. Inbetween fantasyland & frontierland :) YUM!
if I need a quick lunch I love going here. The chicken tenders are so yum!!! I've been back here many times.
This was our first stay at Disney. I was surprised by how small and outdated the room was at all star sports. We were in the basketball section of buildings. The outside of the hotel was fine but inside the rooms are in need of refurbishment. The shower wouldn't stay in the "warm" position. We either got burned or took freezing showers because the handle was to old and worn to hold its position. The covers on the bed were so cheap and heavy that I had to pull them off and then I froze all night. I thought the whole resort was a little low class from what I was expecting. On the stairway you never knew what you would fine. Bugs, snakes or sick birds. We had them all on different days! Who knew the Holiday Inn would look like a deluxe hotel in comparison!
We were not sure we would like this restaurant when we booked prior to our July 2011 trip. From the time we arrived till the time we left the service was first rate, the food was delicious, ( calamari was the best we ever had ). The pizzas are great as all of the entrees. Cannot say enough good things about Vai Napoli. (We went back three more times during our trip!)
The restaurant is beautiful. White linens. Tables are fairly close to one another. Also, bring your reading glasses and a flashlight as it is very dark with only a small table lamp. Instead of ordering a meal (because I didn't see anything that caught my eye), I order two appetizers: Toastadas de Tinga 10 Pulled chicken seasoned with roasted tomato and chipotle, served on tostadas with black refried beans, queso fresco and sour cream Tlacoyos de Chilorio 11 Corn cakes, topped with black refried beans, pork chilorio, queso fresco, sour cream and green tomatillo sauce Both were absolutely delicious! That along with the chips and salsa filled me up. I was so pleased with my choice!
My Mum loves this store! She's not a fan of Splash Mountain because she hates the drops and the prospect of getting soaked, but she is more than happy to wait for us in this store, even if the queue time is over an hour! There's nothing she loves more than looking at all the colourful t-shirts and bags and purses and pins and watching the world go by in her rocking-chair. The amount of times I've come back to find her chatting away with a total stranger! The decor in this store is brilliant, continuing the deep south theme in a way only Disney can achieve. A great way to end any visit to Splash Mountain or Frontierland!
I can say I have played both courses at Fantasia Gardens mult times. The gardens course it amazing to all you pro am golfers out there... truly "MINI" golf. i love it my fave... now if only i can teach my dw to putt we could enjow the gardens together.... we played the other course on our last trip and she loved it...
The Fish & Chips were great. I also had a nice Harp beer to wash it down!
I wasn't sure about it when we walked in, but it turned out to be very good. I had a great hot roast beef sandwich. The bread was amazing. And I'm not even sure what kind of bread it was.
I absolutely loved everything about POFQ, except for one thing, but I'll get to that later. Our newly remodeled room was beautiful and was a corner room so we had 2 windows to view this quaint little resort. We stayed ion Building 3 closest to the arcade, so the food court wasn't very far away, nor was the pool. Arneil was awesome, every morning greeting us as we headed to the buses. The transportation ...that was the only downside. It seemed anywhere we were going the buses would take 20 minutes to show, we would see every other bus but never ours. In fact, one time the survey taker at the bus stop said there was a traffic jam so there weren't any DHS buses. When one finally came it was packed and we stopped at Riverside. All and all a wonderful place to stay. Already planning our 2012 trip. Gotta go one more time before the end of the world...LOL!
The thing that i did not see listed is the pulled pork sandwich... if they still have it, its my favorite lunch at Blizzard Beach
I must begin by saying I consider myself a veteran to the WDW and it's Resort. We arrived for check in at approximately 10 pm and were recieved by a rude Cast Member at the desk. She split my group into two different rooms buildings away from each other, when I payed to be in the Preffered room and next to each other, she also did not explain anything in the folder she gave us nor how to get to our room (Although I didnt really need it). We got the rooms fixed and went straight to bed as it was late. The rooms are rather small and the beds are no where near comfortable, they have springs that you can hear bounce up and down if you move sideways. I noticed a lack of maintenance around the resort ie. Paint peeling, faded lettering, overgrown gardens, dirty towels, etc. Another problem I noticed was the amount of bugs everywhere, they are fun to look at, and disney can't do anything about bugs in the surroundings of the buildings. But when they are inside of the rooms, "Houston, we have a problem". We found several bugs crawling around our room. The pool areas are great for children and families alike. The Food cart serves basic Disney quality food at high Disney prices but it's great for a morning bite, or a late night snack. I will probably return to the All Star Sport if I am staying for a short amount of time but I would never recommend this hotel for anyone spending more than a weekend at the WDW. You could only take in this hotel for so much time.
I love Captain EO it's my favorite 3D movie and the songs awesome! RIP Michael Jackson I love you!
Loved the place went back 2 times
For my birthday this past year, my dad, my brothers, and I went to Dis Quest as a celebration. First thing I have to day is that there is a bunch of awesome experiences, especially Cyberspace Mountain. I geeked out at the inclusion of Bill Nye in the building process (This was my first time, mind you). The astro blasters were great and we spent so much time in the arcade. Even with all the postive things to say about Dis Quest, the age of certain rides and experiences kind of drag down the overall fun. The alien encounter ride... may need to depart. It was a mess to run, hardly anyone was getting on it and the trademark there running it with is just out of date. Some of the other attractions suffer from this. Aladdin's magic carpets could be updated with more recent technology and the Jungle Cruise could have updated projections that take to many different places in time and not just the prehistoric era. Although it shows age, Disney Quest is an overall great experience. There's just those tiny details that could make it an absolute must-see.
Not a big fan of riding in a boat looking at fake animals. They look fake and the ride is a little boring. Skip this and ride the safari at animal kingdom. Now that's a ride!
I'm not even sure what I saw. It was like the longest movie trailer ever or something. Horrible!
The song is really annoying. Figment the dragon is really annoying, but my wife likes it so we go.
Really fun! Sometimes scary! We had a great time. I actually jumped out of my seat at one point!
We always seem to ride this ride even though we don't really enjoy it. Not sure how it has it's hooks in us.
The new upgrades really add to an already awesome ride. I can't wait to ride it again.
My wife and I went in think it would be interesting and fun. Boy were we wrong. I thought I was in a college lecture with a really boring professor.
This ride is a nice slow break in the air conditioning. I was a fan of the Three Caballeros as a kid so I might enjoy it more than most.
Super fun, super original. I wish they had more coasters like this at Disney! Ride it!
I was so bored. Ellen came off as super annoying. Please Disney, please make this ride into something else!
It's fun, but the ride is way too short and the lines are always crazy long. Guess that's why they're changing up here pretty soon and adding extra Dumbo's.
So fun! So scary! And there never seems to be a wait. I always ride it twice!
Sure the movie is cheesy, but man, I felt like I was in the 80's again. Really fun!
My wife and I use this ride to take a short nap when it gets a little hot out and we're a little tired from walking around the parks.
My wife and I are very competitive and we always have fun on this ride trying to beat each other's score.
Even though it's a slower roller coaster ride, my wife and I have a blast on it. The ride never seems to end. You feel like you're on it for 10 minutes.
Without the extra height it would just be another Dumbo type ride, but being that high up going at that speed is really fun.
This place was actually a little hard to find. But my wife and I shared some really good flat bread pizza.
I was actually impressed with this place. I had the shrimp po' boy and it was pretty darn good. The sauce on it really made the meal. My wife is a little picky, but she found chicken nuggets and was happy.
Yeah the food isn't very good and the lines are crazy with tons of kids running around, but what do you expect when you stay at a value resort. I left with a full belly.
My family all got their own cone and different flavors. Everyone finished and were really happy afterwards.
I'm surprised by the reviews on here. I by no means hated, but I would never eat here again. It's run of the mill theme park food.
We had hot dogs there and they really hit the spot!
The food was very good. However if you're a picky eater I would suggest eating somewhere else. I made four trips through the buffet. I was very impressed.
The atmosphere creeped me out. I think a lot of it had to do with the movies playing on the big screen. My food was fine, big portions, but nothing fancy.
I was satisfied with my meal, but I was not blown away by anything. Neither was my wife.
I wasn't sure about it when I walked up to the counter, but man, those were the best nachos I've had in a really long time. My wife really dug the chips and guacamole.
Made reservations 2 months in advance only to be seated at table right next to the entrance. We had to request to be reseated.
Well worth the price. The chocolate mousse was excellent as well!
If you enjoy craft beers, you will enjoy Big River Grille. While the food isn't spectacular it is what you'd expect from a brew pub. Though there is one time I went where they had a Swordfish with pear & gran marnier reduction that was excellent. I'm disappointed this isn't a regular menu item because it would guarantee my return on every trip to WDW. The beer selection is nice with flavorful choices. My favorite is the Rocket Red but all of the others are just as good. The atmosphere inside is the only flaw IMO. Granted I've only been there during daylight but it just seemed too bright. An outside table just before sunset is much better.
i personally like this store. there's a lot of options but so much of what disney carries seems to be duplicated in all the stores lately so basically if you can't find it here you're probably not going to find it. i will give extra props to the cm's working last november...they surprised the heck out of my sister by getting the entire store to sing happy birthday to her after spotting her birthday pin :)
-Ladies and gentlemen, we have an unexpected suprise. I, have the great honor in introducing, the one, the only, Mr. Mickey Mouse! -Dah, dah, dah, dah, dah, dada! Hello! Hi there! Welcome to my park! How you doin'? Hello! -Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa! You're not Mickey Mouse, you are a rat! -Rat, shmat! Besides, they're tourists, what do they know? This show is probably the funniest at Walt Disney World and is a must do during every visit!!!
We stayed in the 50s section from 6/22/11 to 6/27/11. This was our first stay at a value resort and we were pleased with our experience here. The room was nice not as small as I had feared. We had no noise issue that some people have complained about. The grounds were very nice and the theme-ing was fun and very much worth a walking tour of the resort. The shops and food court were more than adequate. If we were looking for a value resort in the future, we would very much consider staying at Pop again. The bus transportation was mostly fine, especially returning to Pop. There were two mornings where the early bus service was not that great but we were still able to be first in the park. The bus to Typhoon didn't get us there until 10 minutes before opening.
I loved coronado springs resort. I stayed for 23 days and everything was perfect. I definitely recommend it. I had the best vacation of my life!!
Throughout my almost 20 times staying at WDW I have stayed here all but once. One time my family and I stayed at Wilderness Lodge and regretted it. While the Lodge is very nice and enjoyable, to us it was as boring as any other hotel regardless of at WDW or not. Fort Wilderness offers so much a hotel can simply not offer. First, Fort Wilderness is meant to be out of the way and seem secluded. That is the purpose of being called Fort WILDERNESS! The people who left reviews complaining about that obviously are not outdoors type people and should have done better research and stayed elsewhere. Disney did a great job building Fort Wilderness and has the rustic outdoors theme spread all throughout the resort. The same themes can be found at Wilderness Lodge and in parts of the Magic Kingdom. Having stayed at Fort Wilderness many times we have had the pleasure of staying in both the cabins and now in our motorhome in a campsite. Both are experiences that you will not find in any hotel. Hotel rooms all are the same: bed, bathroom, some have a kitchen, and if you want to pay extra a balcony. Staying in Fort Wilderness all that is included. The cabins are a home away from home for anyone who wants to get away from the normal hotel experience. And if you own or rent a motorhome, that really is like your second home in which you can bring along anything you want. To me there is nothing better than coming back from the parks and relaxing outside of our RV or on the deck of the cabins, at the pool, fishing, or cruising around on the golf cart. I just don't understand paying to go on vacation and in between going out to places sitting inside a hotel room watching tv. Finally, for those of you who are experienced RVer's, Fort Wilderness offers a great place to stay. All are full hookup sites and most offer cable tv hookups. The sites are always clean and most offer a lot of privacy between sites. In recent years Disney has begun to expand many of the parking pads to better accommodate larger RV's. There are also 2 pools, 2 stores called Trading Posts, golf cart rentals(you can also bring your own), bike and canoe rentals, and very clean and newly remodeled comfort stations with clean showers, bathrooms, and laundry rooms on almost every loop. We've been to Fort Wilderness many times and will return year after year.
I remember going as a kid when it was the only water park. It was modest but never that crowded. I had some exciting slides and I always remember the zip line they had. RIP River Country.
Food was terrific & the service was excellent, too. Very pleased with the Candele (candle stick pasta, sausage ragu, polpettine, mozzarella, ricotta) & the chicken parm for dinner. Dessert was even better! Loved the tiramisu, and the zeppole di ricotta were out of this world! The zeppole are fried ricotta cheese pastry balls, and you get to dip them first in a warm boat of chocolate sauce, and then delicious whipped cream. Highly HIGHLY recommend the zeppole! Will definitely be visiting this restaurant again.
Surprisingly, the sandwiches we had at the "Earl of Sandwich" made this quick-pick lunch one of our best on our trip - and that includes all the parks. The choices and prices are outstanding, and the sandwiches we had were the best I've had in a quite a while. Panera was beat easily. My wife and I both had the Caprese (Fresh Mozzarella, Roma Tomato, Fresh Basil and Drizzled Virgin Olive Oil). Excellent choice - don't worry that there's no meat on that sandwhich! My son had the Italian, and said it was better than Subway's toasted BMT. For the price ($5.99), you can't beat this place!
The Plaza was easy to book - and the wait isn't long even without a reservation. The service is good, the food tasty, and the location perfect. The atmosphere is odd, however - it looks like a dainty ice cream parlor, but has the feel of a hustle-and-bustle big city deli. Regardless - great meal and service at a reasonable (for Disney) price.
We stopped for lunch whilst at Epcot. There was no wait, which should have tipped us off. The food was typical "American Chinese" fare, and offered nothing out of the ordinary. In fact, the menu was quite sparse. And EXPENSIVE. I understand that all sit-down restaurants at Disney are pricy, but this one takes the cake - example: Fried Rice for 15.98? We paid $70 for cold Chinese food. I'm sorry - maybe we got the odd bad meal, but I can't understand the gushing and glowing reviews of this place. A kid threw up in the lobby near the lady's rest room (just after we ordered) and it wasn't cleaned up when we left. We should have waited and eaten in Italy. I give this one start because we didn't have to wait without a reservation.
The Liberty Tree Tavern has good food at a reasonable cost. There is quite a wait if you don't have a reservation, but there are coloring crafts for the little ones if they need to pass the time. Service wasn't slow, but it wasn't snappy either. Both my wife and I had a "modified" Reuben (The Tri-Corner Sandwich) - instead of sauerkraut, the Liberty uses cole slaw and some horseradish. We both loved this meat-packed sandwich. The kids had good meals too, although not as inventive as the "tri-corner."
This was the only dinner table-service restaurant available for reservations on one of our days at WDW, so we took the monorail over to the Contemporary (to which I've never been) and took a chance. We were seated within 5 minutes of our reservation. The food was excellent - try the Mexican Mashed Sweet Potatoes. --Excellent Service-- My son (10) believed that the waitress was watching him because as soon as he finished his drink, she was there with another one right when he sat his empty on the table. Nice atmosphere as well - it appeared to be a much more upscale ($$$) restaurant at a $$ price. We'll probably eat there again on our next visit.
Maybe I've not seen what's out there now, but I have yet to see a 3-D movie that comes even close to how well-done this is. We went twice to see it - and my entire family (wife, kids 10 and 13) all loved it both times. I'm not sure how there could be better 3-D movies available - show 'em to me and I'll believe it. Tip - sit mid-way or near the rear of the theater for full effect. And if a huge person sits in front of you (they should require anyone over 5'8" to sit in the back row), ask them to move.
I'm not sure how anyone could actually like this attraction. And I'm pretty open to these types of fun rides. It appears that this attraction was modified from an older "robot" attraction (I seem to remember it from my last trip). First - you're herded very hurriedly through the initial "briefing" area by Disney staffers. It wasn't clear to me if this was part of the "experience," or if we really were being rushed through for a reason. Next - everyone was again "rushed" to the next area: a large circular room with tiered seats - ours were wet; a bad sign. We sat down to watch the "show". At one point, we were informed that we were going to be "secured" for something. At that point, the contraptions on our seats were lowered, essentially holding us in our seats (similar to the harnesses on fast rides). Then Stitch proceeded to spit all around, which explains the wet chairs. I was hoping maybe the room would spin or move. But it appears we were strapped in to prevent us from getting out. Please do yourself a favor and skip this attraction. The ONLY saving grace is that it didn't take an hour of waiting in line. I may have asked for my money back if that happened... Too bad I can't give this a zero out of ten.
Service 10 Show 10, 10, 10! FOOD 10,000 By far the best food of any of my dining experiences, fun unlimited for the entire family and what service! DO IT, you will only be sorry you didn't do it sooner!
Ok, so the first time I went to the Hoop Dee Doo it was great (2004). This past summer, in August, it was ok. I would still recommend it and suggest it for all age groups, but I was a little disappointed the 2nd time around.
The Breakfast Buffet was FANTASTIC!!! It was different and vast. The kids had a wonderful time with the characters and the staff was great.
Ok, so I am from NY and have had some pretty amazing Italian food (Carmine's Time Square), but this was far below par. Beyond the so so menu... the service sucked! The wait staff acted as if they were doing us a favor by being there. The restaurant was hot and way too over crowded. Wouldn't eat there again.
Much like the CRAPPY Hotel that the Pepper Market resides in, the food is crappy. The prices are high and the bill is MUCHO CONFUSING! You would be better off buying a hot dog from a homeless street vendor!
Good Buffet, ok service, GREAT Character Experience.
LOVED this restaurant! The asthetics and ambiance of San Angel Inn are simply amazing. We all loved the food and service, but it would have made a perfect date night too! One of my favorites and highly recommended!
I was skeptical about Akershus b/c of the type of cuisine, but I am so glad that we went! The food was great (especially the salad bar) and the service was fantastic. However, the best part is that 7 Princesses visited our table and took pictures with each of our 17 guests! The cherry on the top... that included in our meal was an 8X10, (2) 5X7's and (4) Wallet pictures for each of the 4 room rsvps that we had (with Princess Aurora) - FREE!!! Every little girls dream!
The kids and adults ALL LOVE this place. We are from NY, where great Asian food is an expectation, and we all feel like this was just out of the park delicious. Service leaves a little to be desired and the assumption of a tip is arrogant, however, the food is amazing (that is except dessert, skip it).
Good Fast Dining Option, especially for large groups b/c there are multiple styles of food to choose from and entertainment for the little ones.
LOVE LOVE LOVE this place! Not somewhere that little ones are going to be overly entertained, but a great place to eat if you want a calm, relaxing, historically fun place to cool off; that is centrally located and has GREAT FOOD!!! We stop in here each trip and do at least 1 meal!
Bottomline is, the food is far less than fabulous. But the truth is, you don't go to Chef Mickey for the food, you go b/c your kids WILL LOVE the Character experience with Mickey and all of his Chef Friends! Especially great with little ones.
We enjoyed the Breakfast Buffet at 1900 Park Fare and what a delicious spread! The service was pleasant and the staff was on top of everything! The biggest perk... clearly the characters! Being able to have table by table interactions with Pooh and all of his friends, PLUS, Alice and the Mad Hatter (who stole the show) was worth every penny!
I gotta say, we were so excited to eat here... but never again. Food portions are huge, so you are definitely getting what you paid for, but the food is very fried and very greasy. The atmosphere is chaotic, at best. And it was a long wait (even with a reservation) to be seated and then to be served. I don't think I would eat here again.
The experience that we had at this resort was almost enough to keep me from EVER staying on property again. The staff was rude and unable to perform the most simple of tasks. They lost our paperwork, put us in dirty rooms (old food in the refrigerator / medications left in the bathroom / dirty showers /soiled linens / etc.) - which took them 3 days and 20 plus phone calls for them to clean, and even with a handicap adult and special needs children in tow, they placed us in the furthest building possible (from the main reception area). It should be said, we had 4 rooms on this trip and all 4 rooms were equally as distgusting, so this wasn't a fluke thing. I would not suggest that anyone ever stay here b/c you will spend more time on the phone trying to get the staff to do their jobs and clean your room, then you will in the Parks. Save your money and stay at one of the value level resorts where the people are actually excited to help your family enjoy their trip, or bump up to a resort on the Monorail (worth the money for the convenience of the monorail - I suggest the Grand Floridian, or Polynesian).
We stayed here for Christmas one year and it was simply magnificent! The service, decor and amenities were perfect. It was also a great place to stay with adult children, who might need a "different" Disney experience. Worth every penny!
Wonderful atmosphere and service! The kids truly found the Disney Magic at this resort. As an adult on the trip, I chose this resort to save money and I will tell you what, after staying at some of the higher end resorts... I didn't find that big of a difference as far as overall enjoyment staying at the Value Level resort!
My husband and I ate at Jiko on our belated honeymoon trip in Oct. '10 and were fortunate enough to be seated at the open prep table where the chefs make the bread/appetizer plates. We thoroughly enjoyed interacting with the chefs off and on throughout the meal. They were in no way obtrusive to our own private conversation, but were open and available to answer questions. I'm writing this review almost 8 months late, so I don't remember exact menu item names, but we had a flat bread sampler with different dipping sauces and it was FANTASTIC! My husband ordered the halibut entree and it was also Amazing! I ordered the shrimp curry, and I was disappointed because I felt the spice was extremely overpowering. No other flavors were detected, so it wasn't what I was hoping for. I have to qualify this critique with the fact that I had not experienced a curry dish before. I was feeling adventurous and the flavors sounded good. Since then I have had other curry dishes and still believe the dish that night at Jiko, had no depth. I cannot remember our dessert, except that I enjoyed it. I know it wasn't the chocolate one...it was something lighter. All in all, Jiko was one of our favorite places to eat. I think my overall experience would have been a 10 out of 10 if I'd ordered the halibut instead!
I might as well start by saying I am 60...Hold ON...I saw Captain EO when it first came out at Epcot and thrilled it is back!! Way before its time in 3D. Think about it...Videos are not that much more advanced today. After the space ship crash, MJ is RIGHT there...IN YOUR FACE...it does not get any better than that. I started jamming again to MJ after he was "passed away" ...lost 45 lbs!!! Is there a tribute at WDW at EO June 25th 2011??? What a positive influence on my life that guy has been. You know? I love the way he thanked God for his talent and said we should be like Jesus and in EO... ANOTHER PART OF ME ...it's life defining.
This attraction, "Dinosaur", and "Kilamanjaro Safaris" are the reasons why I go to Animal Kingdom! When I first went on it (the year it opened), I was amazed. The Yeti was amazing, and the backwards part was fun. THIS IS A MUST DO RIDE!!!
I have found that the Fastpass system works really well, or is not useful at all. For rides such as space mountain, splash mountain and expedition everest, it works really well, but for rides such as Test Track, Rock 'N' Rollercoaster, Tower of terror and Dinosaur, it may become a waist of a fastpass as you end up waiting for a while anyway. (Due to going in rooms to watch introduction videos where there is no line system) Also, with rides such as Peter Pan, it causes the estimated waiting time to be higher, as this sort of ride, the cast members seem to let too many fastpass in all at once. The fastpass is mainly great and allows you to be able to get all the attractions done, but like everything, it isn't perfect and there are room for improvements, mainly down to the line systems within certain attractions (As mentioned) I would recommend a fastpass to anyone, although remember, in some attractions the lining up is just as good as the ride! ;)
I don't care for the fastpasses either. They slow the standby lines down, people become frustrated. The couple of times that we have used them, we were running from one side of the park to the other side, trying to meet our times. Also, a fastpass means get on faster but not ignore the others in line. I feel that lines should be every other one when letting guests in to the ride. One standby, one fastpass and so forth. Stand by should not be penalized because they didn't get a fastpass that ran out before noon. Or provide enough fast passes to accomodate your attendance for the day. Or provide fastpasses for each of the E-ticket rides with your ticket purchase. There has to be a better way to accomodate guests. I have not liked them since their inception into the parks.
good
Anything which can reduce the amount of time you're lining up in the boiling sun, or pouring rain sometimes, is an absolute God-send. I've been using the FASTPASS system since it opened and overall it has probably saved me about 2 days of waiting in the standard line. It is such a weight off my shoulders to have the fastpass safety-net to ensure that all those must-see E-ticket rides get ridden, so me and my family can take our time to enjoy the park and take everything in. If you don't like the FASTPASS system, don't use it! (Although I doubt all these people saying they hate the system do not continue to use it themselves)
Our trip started out easy enough.Check in was a breeze and we got the building we had requested. Even being on the back end of the property it was only a short walk to the dining area. We had dinner the first night at the Magic Kingdom only to find out that our Keys to the World did not have our dining plan loaded on to them, but it was listed on the card that we had the service. The restraunt manager had to call POP and get the credit for the meal then we had to go back and get new key cards with the dining plan loaded on to them. The next day I made a HUGE mistake and left behind an envelope of money at the register when I finished paying for lunch at their QS location. We reported the money missing. The management in both the Hotel and Food Service areas went out of their to retrace what we thought had happened. After an hour the hotel mgmt. filled a stolen report and gave us a "good faith credit" in the amount of the missing money. That was FANTASTIC. All we had was go to the lobby and let them know if we wanted it on our key card or in cash. We took the cash option as we did not have charging on our card and I did not want another new card. The represenative argued with me that I could not get cash as the credit was already put on my key card and he refused to check with manager that had authorized the credit. "The manager does not have the authority to give you cash." He says. So I had to recap what all had happened, what all the phone calls that took place with both managers then he pulls out a key and gives me the cash and says we should never have carried cash in the first place and don't expect them help out again if it were to happen again. On top of the horrible service in the food area and the pool area being trashed everyday(not POP's fault as they did do a great job cleaning it every morning)We were happy to go home when it was over.
This was the only part of our FIRST Disney trip that was bad. The service was horrible. Our phone was broken the first night we arrived, room service took two hours to get to us and it was cold and nasty when it did arrive. Our room was filthy (the toilets had not been cleaned before we arrived). The Pepper Market restaurant had the worst service I have ever experienced and the food was disgusting. We experienced random power outages throughout the room, different places each time it happened. And, we had a spider infestation that we complained about on numerous occasions, only to be told they were harmless and not to worry about them. Both my daughter and myself woke up a couple of mornings with bites on our legs and feet from "something" under the covers with us... needless to say, I didn't sleep very well there. I would give this resort a definite F on the grading scale. I would NEVER stay here again and I am telling everyone about my experience to save them from the same disappointment.
I really don't believe in the Fastpass.. It just makes the lines alot longer and the areas around the rides harder to walk through while people stand around outside waiting. While people just think, "Oh, I don't have to wait in line," the real reason is obviously to get you out of line and into shops and restaurants while you wait. How clever! Disney's que lines have usually been entertaining by themselves anyway! Now people blow by all of the great work that used to go into pre-show theming. I guess it's also just part of the "I want everything now, I don't want to wait" attitude that goes with everything these days anyway. I used to love the time I spent with my friends and family in line; it was spending the day together. Now you just run back and forth trying to get Fastpasses and then wandering around stores while you wait. But even if you don't like them, you HAVE to use them now, or you will not be able to do hardly anything in your day, because the Fast pass has made most of the wait times double or even triple. But looks like it's not going anywhere....
I can never duplicate the taste of their mojito anywhere or even at home. I know it's just a frozen drink machine, but it is the best mojito I have ever had. Even on a very cold night I still get one and it freezes to my glove, but it is so worth it
First: Dinosaur is NOT Indiana Jones, just like Body Wars was not Star Tours and Test Track will not be CARS. I don't know why you would compare the two. This is one of Disney's BEST dark rides. Off the beaten path at Animal Kingdom you find the Dino Institute which puts you on an "unauthorized" field trip back in time to find a particular Iguanadon, one of the characters in the ride that most people won't even know is from a Disney movie. Well, you land right before the giant asteroid hits the earth and also catch the attention of a Carnotaurus, the Darth Maul version of a T-Rex. So, with all that, it IS loud and IS bumpy and IS scary! I actually manned a Time Rover by myself one rainy day and was TERRIFIED that maybe that Carnotaurus might just get me with no one looking. This ride is well written, designed, and just plain fun! It blows away Jurassic Park at Islands of Adventure. If you have a kid that gets scared easy, don't be fooled by the nice looking Aladar statue outside the ride and the tame building; they WILL walk out crying. But if you have a brave little guy or girl, put them on the inside of the car and let them have a real adventure!!
This is one of the original attractions at the former MGM Studios, so if you've seen it, you've pretty much seen it. If you are an Indiana Jones fan, like me, you'll probably still enjoy it every time. All of the setups are from the 'Raiders' film, not the series, but are all classic scenes to be sure. As far as theme park stunt shows compare, this has to still be one of the best and most interesting. The sets look great, it isn't cheesy like say, the Batman stunt show was at Six Flags. The choreography is fun to watch, and with a John Williams score how can it get more exciting? Don't go on a rainy day however, as the show is cut very short and you don't get the full effect. This is also a show where I'd personally say: try to sit close to the front wall, and on the right side. You really feel close to some great action!!
Yes, i'm 22, but Dinosaur was way to scary for me. I was fine with the motion simulator, but the Dinosaurs are super intimidating. I did not look up at all after the first couple seconds when the dinosaurs appeared. I will never ride this one again.
I had the spaghetti was which good, and i liked my mixed drink, the service was okay, but the one thing i didn't like was all the steps you had to step to get to the restaurant, ugh
I ate there for lunch on the 25th. I had the mageherita pizza, and it was very good. I thought that the service was great as well.
It just so happened that i really like this ride/show. I honestly don't know why people give it negative reviews. I know it can be weird with Stitch talking behind you in a creepy way, but it's awesome
We dined here for dinner celebrating my birthday. Our waiter was Right and Neighborly and he was great. I ordered the skillet, my sister got the pot roast and my mother got the meat loaf. The skillet had soooo much food: chicken, ribs, pulled pork, mashed potatoes, salad, corn on the cob... I ended up taking a doggie bag with me! My sister said the pot roast was the best meal she has ever had at Disney. Mama said the meatloaf was great as well. They brought me out a cupcake for my birthday and everyone sang to me. The kids did pony races around the dining room. All in all it was a great experience and we will return next spring!
We went into this meal not expecting too much. WE were pleasantly surprised. This was one of our favorite meals during the trip. The bread and butter are soooo delicious. I ordered the coconut almond chicken and my mother and sister got the pan asian noodles. I tried some of my sisters noodles and they were so yummy.I wasn't a fan of my chicken. Not that it tasted bad, I just didnt like it so much but my mother and sister both tried it and liked it. The salad that came with it though ws very good with strawberries, almonds and a honey lime dressing. We were too full for dessert but they did bring a cupcake over for my Mama's birthday. We will definitely return again!
We always eat lunch at Le Cellier when we visit Epcot. I believe we have dined there 4 or 5 times now and it's always the best. The breadsticks and butter are a perfect appetizer. I always order the filet mignon, sometimes substituting the risotto with cream cheese mashed potatoes but either are a wonderful side to go with the filet. For me, it's quality, not quantity and the quality of the filet is second to none. The best steak I have ever had. The atmosphere is great just like dining in a quaint wine cellar. We will be visiting again when we go in November.
After reading numerous rave revues on a few site's, I was looking forward to this experience. Having now tried it.....doubtful I will EVER go back, not even for a second chance. The food wasn't the problem. Our server was horrible and received way more of a tip than he deserved. He disappeared for stretches and spent a little too much time socialising. Each course took at least 20/30 minutes before reaching us. Very frustrating feeling overwaiting for food to arrive. Then we were told the 2 items we ordered for desert weren't being served that night. If an item is on a menu it should be served or tell me upfront that it's not available. I have dined many times in the signature restaurants and have never been imprisoned nearly 2 hours !!! Also a bit loud for my liking and I wasn't sitting in the main room.
From reading the reviews here, there are some people who have had bad experiences and there are others who have no idea what real Neapolitan pizza is. My review is from our trip in March 2011: First, the atmosphere is not fine dining, but this is not a fine dining establishment. It is a Neapolitan pizza joint that has a bustling, lively ambiance (very much like the city of Naples.) We were seated promptly and given our menus. My wife and I decided to order one large pizza with sausage, mushrooms, pepperoni, and olives. After taking our order, we were shocked when our pizza was delivered to our table within 10 minutes, hot and fresh. Delicious! For dessert I had the Zeppole Di Catarina (ricotta cheese fritters) and my wife had the tiramisu. Both desserts were fantastic. Our waitress was terrific. We couldn't have asked for a better meal.
Shutters. The service was respectable and quick and I was impressed until the food arrived. I had the tuna and it was completely rubbish, didn't taste of anything and felt like eating rubber. The dessert was reasonably tasty, but didn't make up for the awful main. 4/10
Went May 2011 - TWICE. Citrico's continues to offer the BEST dining on site, and every time, they get BETTER. Chef Phil has created a masterpiece :). ...and when you go? Ask for Keira - a five Star Cast Member with INCREDIBLE knowledge :).
Went around May 15 2011. SLIGHT degradation since November 2010. Quality of offerings still excellent, but preparation went down a bit (we think this was due to going on a Fantasmic Dinner Package night - staff appeared overloaded). DO go - but try to AVOID Fantasmic Dinner Package nights.
I fell in love with Kidani the moment I walked in the lobby. I love warm colors and the theme of this resort so it really suited my decor tastes. The staff were polite and knowledgeable. The only negetive thing I have to say about the check-in process was we waited a long time to get our room. It was after 4pm before our room was ready and we went back up to the desk to see what the delay was. Sanaa is an amazing restaurant and deserves its own review. The room was spacious and we were lucky enough to get a corner-type room so our balcony had views on two sides. We had standard view and over-looked an area facing towards the fitness building and pool (although we couldn't actually see the pool through the trees). The only negative thing I can say about the room was that the drawers needed to be cleaned out. I did it myself before putting our clothes in them. The pool is great. Smaller than I imagined but it was never crowded during our stay in May. The main water slide would always have a line but you never waited more than a couple of minutes. I liked the little water slide that the kids could use independently. And the kids play area is just amazing - I had to drag the kids out of it everytime. The hot tub is nice as well and I liked that it is a little tucked away but still close to the pool area. The animal viewing was amazing. I loved the viewing areas with the rocking chairs, very relaxing in the morning. Bussing was actually quite good during our week stay. I was impressed. And we also used the shuttle a couple of times when going to Jambo House. The resort on a whole had a very relaxed feeling about it. I looked forward to coming "home" in the evenings. The shop is smaller than other resort shops but it was fine for what we wanted to purchase there. My only complaint would be the lack of quick service food. If you wanted a quick meal you had to go over to Jambo House. It takes between 8-10 mins to walk it or you can take the shuttle or the busses. There was one night when we came back late and wanted something to eat but we had to head over to Jambo House to find food! The pool bar has a very limited menu and closes at 9pm, I believe. Other than that I probably would have given Kidani Village a 10/10!
...only joking of course. A gas station is a gas station! This website can be so obsessive sometimes, its unreal! lol (I'll still give it 10/10 because I don't want to give Hess a bad name. Its not their fault, a gas station isn't meant to be entertaining, its just because its in WDW that people have some outlandish expectation of petrol pumps being powered by pixie dust etc. Hess is better than BP too...)
This ride no matter what the time is almays has a little to no wait. You start your journey off a science lap where a professor teaches you all about your senses. Your ride then ets hijacked by a science experament. He tells you what your "REAL SENSES" are. Great ride with a song almost as catchy as its a small world. Good ride to get out of the florida sun.
Every year when my family and I visit the parks the California grill is always a must. When you start your evening at the grill you ride up a private elevator up to the top of the contemporary. Once you exit your elevator you take your first breath taking look at the park area below you. The service is amazing and always make sure you have the best night possible. If a member of your party has any food allergies no worry the staff will do their best to accomadate you. If your lucky and get a resevation around 6:00 you will get to see the amazing sun set, it is trully breath taking sight. After your meal you can leave and even return to the top of the contemporary to see the MK firework display.
Dont be discouraged by all the little kids in fantasy land this area is just as much fun for adults as it is children. Althought the line can be quite lenghty for such a short ride i insure you it i worth the wait. Once you board your flying elephant go all the way up to the highest elevation to see the one of the best views in all of disney world. This ride is where it all begain.
May 14 2011 at 2:35pm, Disney's Hollywood Studios began the very first soft opening previews of the all new "Star Tours - The Adventures Continue" for park guests. Without further delay, it has to be said right away that the new Star Tours is absolutely stunning. I'm even going to go as far as to say that Star Tours is now the best simulator based attraction to be found anywhere. Read on to find out why. This report is not going to reveal detailed story information, but it will describe a few elements of the attraction that may be considered a spoiler. If you have been following the progression of Star Tours you will likely know these already, but if you do wish to be completely surprised when you visit, stop reading now, or be selective in which paragraphs you read. This report also contains no photos due to the express request of the park. Photography is not yet permitted in the queue area, and will not be possible inside the ride vehicle. Approaching Star Tours, you'll find the exterior to be largely the same. Only the new signage and attraction marquee tell you that something has changed. Stepping inside, the first change that will be notable is the removal of all the "working set" themeing. You are no longer heading into a soundstage, but instead directly into the Star Tours port. How this relates to the rest of the park is a discussion for another time, but the new theme certainly works better in my opinion. The first part of the queue area with the Star Speeder 1000 and departure board remains very similar to before in basic layout. The Star Speeder is now the 1000 edition, and the departure board shows all the new destinations in a greatly update display format. The refurbished animatronic C3PO and R2 look fantastic, and the area has been thoroughly refreshed, complete with new carpet, lighting and paint everywhere. The second part of the queue area has seen probably the most dramatic change. Gone is the droid room, and in comes the security screening checkpoints. The animatronics here are very entertaining, and there are some fantastic visual effects involving luggage and passenger screening. There are so many hidden details here it will take many trips through to uncover them all. There are even nods to the old Star Tours pilot Rex, and Buzz Lightyear. Moving into the load area, you'll find it has been completely refreshed. All new decor, lighting and displays are in place. The overall effect reminded me somewhat of the new Space Mountain load area, with a bit of Soarin' and Spaceship Earth post show mixed in - think lots of blue overhead mood lighting. Once the boarding and safety video kicks in on the boarding area display, you know that the old Star Tours is firmly in the past, and things are now looking a lot more 2011. The video display is HD, immaculate looking, yet retains the humor of the old video, whilst adding a lot more new detail. Once the safety video is complete, the load process begins, and is very much the same as before, with guests lining up into seat rows, and boarding the Star Speeder from the side. Inside the Star Speeder, everything has been refurbished. New seating, new lighting, new audio, and importantly, the most incredible display system I've ever seen in a theme park, or anywhere. Something that gives you a hint of how special this display is are the 3D glasses that you pick up in the boarding area. These are not your typical economy feeling glasses found in other attractions. These things are heavy duty, serious looking glasses - similar to something you might find in an Oakley store. The ride begins in much the same way as before, with the passengers strapped in, and the pilot being revealed. This time of course, C3PO is our pilot - and in perfect audio-animatronic form. The blast shield slides down revealing what makes Star Tours II so special - the screen. The video display here simply has to be seen to be believed. It is super high resolution, saturated with color, sharp, with absolutely no 3D blur, regardless of where you sit in the cabin. Within seconds of the show starting, you forget you are looking at a screen, and really believe you are looking through the window of the Star Speeder. The 3D is marvelously utilized. Unlike many 3D attractions which I feel tend to overuse the 3D effects, Star Tours uses the 3D to simply recreate a realistic looking scene rather than for shock value - and wow does it deliver. I could talk about this display for a long time, but let us say you have to see it to believe it - it's amazing. An incredible display is nothing without something pretty spectacular to put on it, and here Industrial Light and Magic and WDI have excelled. The environments spanning all six movies are absolutely spectacular. The detail that brings the story to life is all there as your race through them at high speed in your Star Speeder. Fans of Star Wars are going to delight at the details (and humor) found here. There is so much to look at that you'll need hundreds of rides to take it all in. It is clear that a large budget and massive amounts of time went into producing the imagery of the attraction, which really is the cornerstone to this experience. The next trick that Star Tours has up its sleeve is a killer feature, and something that will keep guests coming back time after time. Unlike the old Star Tours that had just one storyline, the new Star Tours has 54 story combinations, which are chosen by the ride system at random. This gives the ride massive re-ridability, with guests having the quest to try and see all the combinations and destinations. The switching of story-paths is very cleverly done and seamless. The story-lines even make use of a rider in the Star Speeder through some great imaging technology - it is not overdone, and fits perfectly. Also unlike before, the new version features many characters who take part in the story from all six of the Star Wars movies. As you know, Star Tours is a motion base simulator, and WDI have also enhanced things here with the new Star Tours. The motion feels incredibly well timed to the visuals, very dynamic and realistic feeling, and most importantly for many riders, not a hint of feeling motion sick. This simulator experience gels the motion with the video better than anything else I have experienced. The motion programmers deserve special applause for their achievements on this. Ride time for the attraction is the same as before, at around 4 minutes and 30 seconds from show start to stop, with the ride concluding similar to before with a successful(ish) landing. It has been over 10 years in the making, and many Disney and Star Wars fans had given up hope of ever seeing a refresh to the classic attraction. Today with the introduction of "Star Tours - The Adventures Continue", fans can enjoy a cutting edge attraction fully worthy of the Star Wars universe. I think it is safe to say this will become the new "must-ride" attraction at Walt Disney World, and will do great things for the attendance at Disney's Hollywood Studios. Dare I even say, the new rope-drop FASTPASS rush will be a charge to Star Tours instead of Toy Story Mania. Congratulations to Tom Fitzgerald, everyone at Walt Disney Imagineering, and of course George Lucas and Industrial Light and Magic for their achievements on this new attraction - the bar has been raised yet again. Star Tours officially opens on May 20 at midday. Like today, soft opening previews are possible and expected on the run-up to the 20th, but there are no guarantees it will be open. If you are heading to a preview, good luck, and may the force be with you.
Was able to get in 4 runs on Sunday, but couldn't post until now: I hope giving the details is not taboo here, as the previous reviews were very mild in detail, but the post engine says to “Please supply as much information and detail as you like. The more detailed you can be the more help it will be to others.” Since I was general public getting on the ride, I think its fair game to give details so here goes: Spoiler Alert – Sequences: From what I can tell, there is an opening, a planetary visit, and a closing scene. There may be an additional "combat scene" after the planetary visit and before the closing, but It was the same for me in combination with the closing scene. I experienced: 2-3-2: 2 different opening sequences, 3 different Planetary visits, and 2 closing sequences Or possibly: 2-3-2+2: 2 different opening sequences, 3 different Planetary visits, 2 combat sequences paired repetitively with 2 closing sequences. As more reports hit, we may find 5 or 6 sections to the experience, who knows. Super Spoiler Alert – Details: Opening Sequences Experienced: A1 Storm Troopers chasing you A2 Darth Vader chasing you Planetary Visits: B1 Hoth Ice Planet B2 Wookie Planet B3 Tatooine - Pod Racing Closing Sequences: C1 Space Combat and D1 Deliver of Spy to Rebel Base C2 Capitol City Sequence and D2 Delivery of Spy to Capitol and Applause at end For me C1 and D1 were together twice so may only be one sequence, and same for C2 and D2. One cool thing is one of the passenger, perhaps you yourself, is the rebel spy. When Yoda transmits his message, he knows if the rebel spy is a “he” or a “she”, but I hope that these 2 variations do not cut the 54 combinations mentioned into 27 combinations with he/she being the only differentiator. I will be riding again Thursday if possible… enjoy.
Always empty in the morning waiting in line never happens. Educational yet extremly intresting. Watch for the mickey shaped pumkins or the upside down watermelon
Best ride. If your going to epcot run to soarin get a fastpass for for it, then go jump in the line first thing so you get 2 rides. Ask the castmember if you can get in row 1 so you get the best experince (no feet dangling in front of you.
Like most shows in DHS, this one is a bit dated. It's still fun for just about anyone, but could use some attention. The upcoming movie would be the perfect opportunity to do so as the Muppets would establish themselves with a younger generation of park/movie-goers.
Have always liked this one, don't get me wrong, but the films they feature are often older than a good chunk of the guests that ride. I get the historical/classical aspect of these films, but let's be real, if it isn't modernized to a certain extent within the next few years you might as well stick a fork in it.
Not much has changed about this one over the years, aside from it being cut short in favor of the space LMA occupies, but it's still a fun time. Going to need some updates within the next few years to prevent it from getting stale.
As is the case with newer attractions, the lines are INSANE! If you have any intention of riding TSM at all, make sure you get to the park early and make a beeline for either the attraction itself or the Fastpass line. I wouldn't say it's worth the 1-2 hour wait otherwise, though it is an excellent attraction.
I'll admit, this wasn't amongst the best attractions in WDW, but it wasn't totally awful either. What it was? TERRIBLY OUTDATED. The same can be said for the playground area. Get with the times, Disney.
It may not be the most exciting ride Disney has to offer, but it is still a lot of fun. I try and check it out whenever I'm in Epcot.
Probably amongst the first things you should do upon entering Epcot, otherwise it's going to be a tough get. The lines are consistently long.
Not to knock on any of their other thrill rides, but Disney has always pretty much played it safe. Everest is a welcome departure. Make it a priority when in AK to tame this monster.
True, this ride has tons of untapped potential, but enjoy it for what it is - especially on a scorcher of day...and prepare to get wet, of course.
I know the line can be a little lengthy at times, but it's totally worth it. It's definitely not the long wait/short attraction-type scenario some people may be used to. If you're short on time in AK, choose this over any of the other attractions in the park (except for maybe Everest) that may be on your to-do list.
Always one of the first spot I hit at AK, if not THE first. Never a line, but the shade is never a bad thing in the case that you do have to wait. Fun show to check out, but it may be a bit much for the younger crowd (5-6 & under)
The ride isn't terrible. Go on it with kids and they'll have a blast just about every time. Me, I'm passed the point of what-seems-like-forever spinning being tons of fun. I'll skip it from here on out.
I can ride Dinosaur over and over. Never a dull moment. Plus, it's as quotable a Disney attraction there is.
Love this one. I'm fairly young, so I appreciate any time-pieces and this one, of course, does so in the way only Disney can. Really enjoy it, whether it's during a regular visit or using the attraction for much-needed downtime. Never change it, please!
Loved this one growing up. Classic ride, of course. Still try to catch a ride when I visit WDW, but the line can be pretty lengthy.
Classic. Hardly ever a long wait. Great theming. Compare it to the POTC in Disneyland all you want, but this one holds it's own and is an all-time fav. for just about everyone.
I miss the McDonald's Fry Cart
One of my favs - from the music to the attraction itself. Hate the fact that you get soaked? Bring a change of clothes or wear a poncho. It's not called SPLASH Mountain for no reason. Time to be movin' along...
Growing up, this was the only ride that I ever FEARED going on...yet I loved it and kept coming back. Those that said it was too scary for Disney and you and/or your kids? Keep moving - all you needed to do. Some people don't enjoy roller coasters, but you don't see them complaining about certain rides needing to be closed. They go elsewhere. Too bad that Disney gave in and opened quite possibly its worst attraction in recent memory in its place.
Yes, this attraction is as terrible as people say - though some people are exaggerating as far as the "gross-out factor" goes, as well as the stress the shoulder restraints put on you. Unpleasant? Absolutely. Not a huge deal though (unless you have health/physical problems of some sort.) Either way, not an attraction I'd recommend - even though the wait will ALWAYS be as short as they come in WDW. They really need to scrap this one ASAP.
A great refresh of a popular ride. I used to get sick riding the old version, but I do not believe I will on this one. The 3D effect is awesome and makes it feel like you are actually there. Timing is great with the motion and C3P0 looks awesome. The new "droid room" is both tech cool and funny. Do not miss this ride!
We stayed Dec 2-11, 2010. It was our fist visit to POR and we will be going back again, we loved it that much. We enjoyed the boat to Downtown Disney...what a nice, relaxing, pretty ride. We were in the Alligator Bayou section. The room was very neat and clean, no issues what so ever. Every night upon returning to our room our daughters (5 and 7) were delighted to find their stuffed animals arranged in different poses on their bed and sometimes on ours. The further into our trip the more stuffed animals were added to the bed. Each girl had gift cards and bought 2 stuffed animals each so the opportunity for poses from Mousekeeping were almost endless. We have a picture of each pose and the girls just love looking at that and telling everyone how excited they were at the end of the day to return to their animals. It was like they had been caught playing!! It was too cold during our visit to use the pools but we did walk around the resort and are looking forward to using the pools on our next visit. The girls just loved the playground. The food court was nice and the cast members extremely friendly. It was Pop Warner week and we had a lot of cheerleaders there with us so the food court was very busy but easily manageable. We added a day on to the end of our trip and were going to have to change hotels. My husband checked with the front desk for an opening and there weren't any. Two days before we were to check out he checked with them again and they were able to keep us there but we did have to switch rooms. We were thankful we didn't have to switch resorts. Such a beautiful resort. We can't wait to go back. Oh, I neglected to mention the bar and the singer. Right now I forget his name....but he was brilliant. He was so funny. What a crowd he gathered on the nights he played. The whole place was packed and people were standing in the hallway from the lobby to the food court just to get a listen / view.
The AMC Downtown Disney 24 is a good place to eat and talk before the movie and the fork and screen is awesome! I can't wait to do it again to see Cars 2 in 3D and eat in the movies!
The improvements to Star Tours have certainly made this one of the best rides over at the studios. I just hope that people realise this. The main entrance to the ride and waiting areas are largely unchanged. It would be nice to see an obvious indication that the ride has been upgraded from the outside. Once inside however I don't think there will be any visitor that goes away disappointed. The new 3D visuals are perfectly synchronised to the sound and motion of the vehicle. This ride truly has the wow factor and the necessity to ride it over will make this a very popular attraction from now on.
This Star Tours reboot is going to put the studios back on the map. I grew up with Star Wars but I'm not an expert by any means. I think the Adventure continues has a great balance of Star Wars content and more generic sorts of images/thrills. You could easily ride and enjoy the attraction without the slightest bit of Star Wars knowledge. The imagery is sharp, bright and clear and the 3D works brilliantly. The motion to film sycronization is smooth and seamless. The random sequences make re riding not just something you want to do but something you HAVE to do. I think this will be very popular and well received by not just the die hard Star Wars fans but the general guest population as well. WDI has done a great job!
I ordered a tuna salad. It was freshly prepared, but very little tuna went into it. It was fairly filling but not really worth $8. Other items on the menu also seemed quite expensive. A cup cake costs $3.75. I'm not really sure what this place is trying to be. It has fried chicken, salads, drinks and also a cupcake stand. In all cases you have to join seperate lines to get these. A large family would struggle with this. There are also seperate iced sections offering sides such as coleslaw ($2.50) and fruit ($5). These seemed to be poorly stocked and coleslaw was not available during our visit. Its not the worst place at DTD for eating but it still has a little way to go to obtain value for money.
I ate here Jan 2008 on the last day of my vacation. We were seated on the lower floor right by the kitchen exit. The place is like a bad museum inside. It looks dated and was in a very bad state of repair. The food made me very ill during my flight later that day. I would never go to this place again and advise anyone in the area to steer clear of it. If you are in the area please go to House of the Blues or Raglan Road. This is a terrible restaurant and should be torn down. If 0 was available I would have selected that!
This is certainly a unique experience that many people will enjoy. Upon arrival there was a little uncertainty in our group as to how the showing would be organised. It is best to arrive early to ensure that you can start to eat before the movie starts. Having said this there was very little distruption by the servers during the film. The layout of the theatre gives ample room for easy movement without anyone having to walk in front of the screen. The only critism was that the seats are quite far away from the table area in front of you. This meant that it is necessary to literally sit on the edge of your seat whilst you are eating. The food won't win any mitchellin stars but the menu has a wide enough variety to satisfy anyones needs. I do think that the prices for the food are a little expensive. Especially the appetizers. You should also remember to choose your food carefully for eating in this environment. Eating chicken wings was a little difficult and messy in the dark! Overall it was a great experience and something worth trying once. I'm not really sure I would go again mainly due to the cost vs sepearetly eating in a restaurant then going to the movies.
Very cool experience, well run, good service, but mediocre food My experience at the Dine-In theatre was a good one. It is very well organized and runs smoothly. The service was friendly and attentive without being overbearing and interfering with the movie. It's a very unique way to watch a movie and I think it's going to be very popular. The type of food is what you would expect for this type of experience but I'd love to see higher quality ingredients used in the preparation and maybe a few more healthier options. I felt the quality of the food was a bit disappointing particularly for what it cost. The chicken wings were soggy and lacked any kind of kick. There is a section of the menu including typical movie treats like m&m's, raisinettes and popcorn which I thought was pretty cool. I think in the future I would probably skip the hot food and get a drink and dessert and maybe some popcorn. Overall though I think it's a great addition to DTD.
I recently had breakfast at the Wave and it was quite a disappointment. The restaurant itself feels very much like a typical Radisson or other mid market hotel breakfast room that's been shoehorned into an unused convention space. The decor already looks dated and there is no natural light. The chairs are very uncomfortable to boot! The seat was so long that my legs stuck straight out in front of me. They would be great if you're 6'tall I suppose. The service was friendly but very, very slow. We sat for more than 20 minutes before our drink orders were taken and it was another 15 minutes before our drinks arrived. The restuarant wasn't even half full. The staff just had no spark, it was as if they know that their breakfast isn't any good and have no faith in their product. We chose the buffet. It was very limited yet cost the same as Boma. It was really more of a continental breakfast of cold pastries and cereal. They ran out of a number of hot offerings before 10:30. We asked if they were going to be replaced and they said no, yet they were still seating people for breakfast. The two postives on the buffet were the eggs benedict and the bread pudding. They were good but not good enough to convince us to ever step foot in the Wave again. We noticed that two tables seated near us complained and sent back their plated breakfasts. We had thought about trying lunch or dinner but our experience was so poor and the room so unpleasant that we won't go back. There are much better options for breakfast for the same or less money- Boma and Trail's end are both heads and tails about the Wave.
I love TTA People mover is my favorite relaxing ride in the Magic Kingdom!
The theming in the queue is incredible and the ride is fun fun fun!
I love this ride because it never has a line, you get a great view of tomorrowland and some of mainstreet u.s.a., and it's perfect for a break!
The music is great and it's one of the most thrilling attractions at Disney being the only ride that goes upside down and one of the fastest in all of the four parks.
POFQ is now my favorite hotel because of the Jazz! I hope to stay in POFQ for Dec 2011!I really hope!
My wife and I love this resort! We stayed from March 26- April 2. We arrived at the front desk and checked in. From then on there was not one problem I can think of. We had a recently refurbished room with the new vanities and flat screen TV. We were in building 1, which is the farthest from the food court and bus stop. However, it was never more than a 3-5 minute stroll. The grounds are perfectly maintained. The only thing I can pick at is the food. While the food is mostly good, we took exception with the preparation of the beignets and poboys. Being from Louisiana, we had experienced the real thing (end of bragging.) Also, I can't say enough about the staff. Our concierge, Gerry, was a delight and was extremely helpful with ticket upgrade, dining reservations, etc. Overall, this resort is perfect if you want a small, quiet resort with exceptional staff and comfortable rooms. It was an oasis and a home for the week we spent there.
1. do they have 20k pins? 2. 2 nemos!?
i took my baby cousin on it and i think she loved it. i know i did! by far better than all of the rides in wdw, dl, dl paris, and tokyo wdw. i have two ghost hitchhikers already i just need Ezra to be able to brag about it.
We were seated 45 min after our res. Our waitress took another 10 minutes just to get drink orders. The kids and husband liked the bread served with dinner...me however was allergic to the type. When I asked for a plain bread I was brought someones bread from their lunch they packed from home. Dinner was sub par to the point of getting food after for the kids from a quick service stand. We waited 45 minutes for our check when finally a family from another table said something to the manager for us since our requests were going on deaf ears. I could not be paid to go there again....ever.
Just returned from another amazing Disney vacation!! On our last night Mon. April 25th 2011, we had dinner @ Le Cellier. The food was awesome as usual, our waitress Katrina was very personable and pleasant. we were her last table of the night.....reservation was @ 8:50... we were seated at 9:30.... After our 10 day vacation, we were all exhausted, finished our meal, paid our bill and off to bed! Let this be a lesson to all...... going through my post vacation pocketbook, I pulled out my bill from our "last supper" Our lovely waitress Katrina, charged each of us for a dessert ( a different one for each of us, 4 total) which we did not order as we were all stuffed from our dinner and apps! This little addition to our bill added another 40 bucks to our already pricey dinner. SHAME ON US!! I don't care how tired you are, CHECK YOUR BILLS!!!! Katrina made an extra hefty tip for herself Monday night!!! Don't be fooled by extra friendly people........ sad reality! Not the best way to end our vacation, but other than that, had a fabulous time!
I've ridden it many times and it never gets old. I love how there's always that one person who is riding it for the first time and FREAKS OUT! But on the downside, even with a fastpass that line is brutal!
I loved Club Cool! I liked trying all the different sodas (good and bad) and it was hilarious seeing people's reactions to some of the drinks. Club Cool was a great place to escape the heat and look at some of the cool coke merchandise!
(Sorry for the terrible title!) I love love love Captain EO. As I was born in 1992 I didn't get to see it first time round, but on my last trip to EPCOT in August I saw it three times! I am a massive Michael Jackson fan, and my favourite album of all time is the Bad album, so I was ecstatic watching Michael performing 'Another Part of Me' in front of our eyes. Other than watching This Is It on the big screen, thats the closest we can now get to experiencing Michael perform onstage. I love the whimsical characters and the whole 80s vibe. Sure it may seem a little old fashioned and not as technologically advanced as other attractions, but EPCOT needs rides which provide a taste of the past for audiences. We have to acknowledge and learn from the past to move on in the future! =) Go see it. Now.
Three weeks ago we arrived at our hotel (at 3am, no less!) and checked in. We've stayed at a few of the resorts, so we knew the routine....drive around to get to your building cluster, hike through several paths and buildings to find yours, and then cart your 8 suitcases up the steps. That's all well and good...but upon entering our room, we were thinking...YUCK!! I don't care for all the rustic wood bedposts and room design-creepy backwoods look. The carpet felt damp and dirty. NOTHING had been dusted!! Nothing!! The armoire had a layer of dust on the molding that was glued on. Behind the beds was dirty. Couldn't seem to get our plugs in half the outlets. And even though the landscape is lush and beautiful, it keeps your room very dark...no sunlight!! And the worse part is what they consider a bed for the 5th guest. A nasty pull out from under the bed that isn't even a real mattress. With a family of 5 this is the only cheaper hotel that accepts 5. Besides that, you have to go to suites, vacation villas, deluxe resorts, or two rooms. So it's the only economical choice for 5, but really a letdown. This is one of the only resorts that will allow
We have stayed here a few times. It is a busy place and good for getting food to eat!! There are eateries as well as a shop to buy provisions. The great advantage is that you can walk in to Epcot or the Studios ---there`s no traffic. Or you can get a boat. So great if you don`t have a car. There are buses to the other locations. You can watch the Epcot fireworks from the resort. Some guests don`t like the fact that their rooms can be a walk from their car. It`s worth a visit!! We like the gym as well.
We just love staying here--it is so peaceful yet near all the action!! We usually use the buses to the parks as there is a good service, though we will drive to the Animal Kingdom. You can hire bikes and cycle down to Saratoga Springs --or you can walk down there if you feel energetic--you`ll get a glimpse of the Treehouse Villas. There is also a boat service to Downtown.
Love this shop. Little shop has a lot. Personalized ornaments within minutes. We order our ornaments and while waiting for personalization, we go to the funnel cake stand.within 15 minutes we pick up our ornaments. We have them sent to our resort and then we head over to the haunted mansion.
We stayed here in March '10 and really did not care for the resort. The themeing did not impress us, the staff was not as "Disney" as we were used to, and our room, seemed very old, dirty, and dark. The beds had a horrible gap between the frame and where the bed actually sat, there was no where convenient for the coffee pot to sit (I found this odd...) the extremely small counter space by the sinks hardly held all of our normal bathroom things and rug seemed very worn and was not very soft on my hurtin feet after a long day in the park. I was looking forward to trying this resort out since there were so many great reviews for it, but unfortunately for us, it did not live up to our expectations, and we walked away dissapointed.
We ate breakfast here on 3/23/11 for my son's 13th birthday. This was our first visit to Boma, and we were not disappointed. We had an ADR for 9 AM; we checked in at the hostess station at 8:45 AM and got a table immediately. Our server was Albert, and he quickly brought hot coffee and jungle juice (which was delicious!!) while we helped ourselves to the buffet. I was worried that my husband wouldn't be pleased with it, as he tends to have a more sophisticated palate, but he had nothing but good things to say about the food. The African breakfast offerings were very tasty, while the traditional pancakes, bacon, and scrambled eggs satisfied my son, who is a little less adventurous when it comes to food. The scrambled eggs with goat cheese & chives were my personal favorite...I think I went back for a 3rd helping of these. ;) After the three of us had visited the buffet a couple of times, Albert brought over a special birthday dessert for my son. He sang happy birthday to him, then the two of them struck several funny poses, which made for some great pictures! The cost of our meal (before tip) was a little over $60, but it was well worth it in my opinion. I highly recommend Boma. We had a wonderful meal here.
We went for Christmas morning breakfast and we found the restaurant to be quite enjoyable. The location is fantastic right next to the monorail station in the Contemporary and next to the hotel shops of course. The food is the typical buffet food, however some of the recipes and dishes were so good we looked them up after getting back home. There were breakfast items typically found as side dishes later in the day (tater tots etc) so you get a good variety. The characters add that extra element to the atmosphere, love it, if you can reserve and get there early its fantastic.
The Electrical Water Pageant is exactly the kind of thing that puts a smile on your face, and you only find it at Walt Disney World! Watch it from any of the Seven Seas Lagoon resorts. Electric lights on water with electronic patriotic music, Walt would have approved!
This is our favorite place and once again it proved to be the best. Must try the cheese soup
Could have been much better
First time we have ever ate here. For the most part the food was good. Very good varitey. The one exception was what they were carving for sirloin. It had to be aged water buffalo. It was very rare and very tough. I witness one person asking for them to cook him a piece longer and while they did, they weren't very happy about it. Our waitress was rude and acted like she didn't even want us there. For the money there are better places.
We ate breakfast here on a sunday morning. The food was ok, nothing special. We were here for over an hour and in the last ten minutes two characters finally stopped by our table (we had finished eating about ten minutes before that). To be fair the rest weren't to far behind them, but by then the kids were so bored after being there that long that they just wanted to go and get to the park. This isn't the first timewe have been here and this happened.
Like most Disney rides a lot of the thrill is from the visual effects. There use to be a lot more of them. Boulders above the train would shake and start to fall towards the train. Things like this no longer happen. When I ask a cast member about it they claimed it was for safety reasons. Now I'm all for safety, but it seems to me that if a ride has been there for almost 30 years and they haven't had any problems then maybe we are being a little over cautious.
This use to be our favorite ride. We visitedin March 2011 and after the remodel this ride is just sad. Half of the fountains in the laughing place weren't working. On of the Geese had his head turned backwards. The new lap bars was supposed to keep the ride from shutting down, but it did just as much. But the worst part is the water cannons!! You don't even stand a real chance of getting wet anymore. The one pointed towards the crownd that use to get people wet watching just puts up a mist, and the one that hit the logs now misses. When I ask cast memebers what happened they responded that too many people complained about getting wet. IT IS A WATER RIDE FOR CRYING OUT LOUD!!!! IT IS POSTED EVERYWHERE THAT YOU COULD GET WET. They need to change the signs to you used to get wet.
We were seated immediately, got the table we wanted, Lynne was our server, and couldn't have been nicer. We started with wine flights, mine the Greek Isles, and she the Cat Flight Whites...pricey, but worthwhile tastings of 2 oz. pours of 3 different wines each, along with the Kouzzina Sampler, which is grilled pitas served with Kalamata olives, hummus, Dolmades(stuffed grape leaves), spiced chick peas, Tsatziki(yogurt with garlic, cucumber, kalamata),olive oil for dipping, Spiced Prawns, and Sesame Lamb Meatballs, which could have been enough, as we are foodies, but not gluttons, and well....we didn't stop there. We had heard about the Lamb Shank so much, we decided to split it. And it was wonderful. With the Kouzzina potatoes, which disappeared quickly, and Gigantes beans(big butter beans) in a bell pepper sauce. We eat veggies all the time, but we came for specialties, so... It was early, 6:45p, and we were full, anyway, so we went merrily. And we'll do it again. So much fun to get off the plane and go there immediately. Next time, maybe the Oak-fired Pork Tenderloin, and (veggies!) Spiced Briami with Kasseri and Orzo. Maybe Ouzo! Without the water on the side. Opa!, Y'all.
Love the Soup so much, we always make a special trip! One of our favorites parts of a wdw vacation!
If you're a sports fan you will love this place just like I do. The arcade does keep the kids busy, and their minimal gift selections are somewhat good. The food is great, it's a good time to just relax, eat, and watch sports. I try to come here every time I visit WDW.
I went here when I was younger, it was a little crazy at first, but once I warmed up to it everything was hilarious and quite enjoyable. The food from what I can remember was great, and ask for the ketchup you won't regret it ;)
My 3 friends and I had dinner here in June 2010. We had the penne alla vodka and the grilled chicken flatbread both of which were to die for! The venue isn't as themed as Tony's but the food was much better. It looks like a NY brick facade restaurant. Our waitress was friendly and attentive, even offered to take a group picture of us. The desserts were good too.
My family and I love this ride! well except for my brother in law who is ridiculously scared of heights (yes, i do have hilarious pictures). although he is so scared, my mom and 2 year old have both rode the ride. we LOVE it!
My husband and I had the Fairfax Fare salad and we both enjoyed it. It was a change of pace from the typical/boring chicken salad everywhere. It has chili.
I ate at The Wave last week and had the new breakfast buffet. Unfortunately I don't have much good to say about it. Firstly, the interior of The Wave is just not nice. It's dark, has low ceilings, and smells musty. It feels like you are in a basement, with absolutely no windows, and low lighting levels. The Cast Members were poorly organized, and appeared to be understaffed, they also seemed to be low on moral, not the usual Disney buzz. Seeing where they work, I can understand it. We were slow to be seated, and slow to be served. The buffet itself was fairly limited. The food was not particularly hot or fresh, with the low turnout in the restaurant meaning the food was not being replaced often. The one stand out menu item, the bread pudding, was removed from the buffet prior to the end of seating, and was not replaced. I went in hoping to really like The Wave, but overall it was very disappointing. I would not return unless something significantly changed. There are far better breakfast options at Disney, in particular Boma for a buffet, and Kona for a plated breakfast.
One of the most complete restaurants in WDW. Great looking restaurant, great entertainment, and most importantly great tasting food. I have never received a bad meal or service here. One of the more enjoyable and original environments in WDW.
We ate there in sept. 2010. This was our 2nd time eating there and we were not disappointed. Our waiter was fantastic. He asked did I need a refill on my tea and I told him yes. He came back with 3 glasses of tea and called me a camel....which all I could do was laugh. He then brought me a map with all the restrooms circled, this was my bedwetters guide. The kids loved it. We all had a great time!!! Going there again in Dec. 2011!!!
We ate twice at Raglan Road on our last trip and it was delicious both times. The decor was very traditional and the staff were polite and friendly. They were also very helpful with my toddler who can be a handful at times. The food was absolutely delish. The first time we ate I had Kevins Heavenly ham and my husband had fish and chips and they were as good as any fish and chips I can get at home (being from yorkshire, we know a good fish supper when we see one!). The ham was beautiful, with a hint of cloves it was full of flavour. Good sized portion too. I had Gers bread and butter pud for dessert which I couldnt finish but I still dream about it - it's true, it's like no other pudding you've had before. Scrumptious! The second time we went I can't remember what my husband had but I had Meatballs a la Liffey Luv followed by strawberry and apple crumble. Again, it was all delicious. The only thing that put me off a bit was the massive portrait of Bono looking over us. It gave me the willies! Otherwise couldn't fault the place. I would highly recommend....
Raglan Road is an awesome restaurant that doubles as the last outpost of fun on the now defunct PI. Lets start with the food. The last time I was there I had the Dalky Duo app. It was amazing. The Menu has a nice mix of traditional Irish fare, and some less ethnic options. As for being the last outpost of fun. The Irish band and dancers are wildly entertaining. The atmosphere is fun. The bar is large and diverse. Overall I would say Raglan Road is a must do for any adults traveling to WDW.
This is DD and mine favorite place for a night out without the DD. We always sit at the bar for dinner and enjoy a few beers and the live music and dance. The Forest of Scallops and Cheeseburger is what i like but DH always tries something new and has enjoyed them all. He always saves room for the Bread Pudding...his MUST have on every trip. Raglan has lots of bar space so if you ever find yourself with an ADR and cant get this is the place to go if you dont mind eating at the bar. They also take the Disney Dining plans.
I have no idea if the fish is frozen or not, but it tasted very fresh, smooth, and melted in my mouth. Sometimes batter from other fried fish can be somewhat bland despite all the oil, but the batter here was very flavorful. Eating by the Lagoon is a plus.
I'm not a big fan of Japanese counter service restaurants, but the food at Yakitori House was actually pretty good. I did not care for the restaurant's interior as it is tiny and cramped, but honestly it's about the same you'd get at an actual restaurant in Japan so in that sense I guess you could say it's an accurate representation. Plenty of outside seating.
What happened to my beloved lefse? The middle was still a bit frozen and the whole thing was dry, not moist and buttery at all like the last time I had it. The bread itself was more like a tortilla this time. Disappointed.
The best part of the experience is that you get the fab five. I don't think you actually get all five at any other character dining (you might get 1 or 2 of them at the most). This definitely saved us the time of waiting in line at the parks. Other than that, I've feel like breakfast buffets at other WDW as well as DL locations have much better quality and greater selection. To our party, Chef Mickey's seemed to be riding on the popularity of the characters rather than the food. If the kids are still young enough the next time we return to WDW then we will come here for the characters, if the kids are beyond Mickey Mouse then we will absolutely pass.
I have no clue what authentic German food should taste like. So with that context in mind, I will say I thought Biergarten's food was pretty good. It was all fresh, none of it looked shriveled as if it had been under a heat lamp for 45 minutes (it probably helps we were there at peak dinner time). Server was enthusiastic and attentive. The entertainment was a lot of fun for both adults and our kids, but to make the most of it be sure you actually get out of your seat and on the floor. I can't say what it's like having to eat with strangers as we did not have to. This is what I want for an overall dining experience and I would go back again.
The person who said good but not that good doesn't believe in Disney magic. This is one of the best shows put together by Disney. You should have done the fantastic dinner package this would have saved you the wait. That's all I have to say.
I don't know what it is, but this place absolutely has the best chicken ceasar sandwich I have ever had. It's in a long, narrow hollowed-out crusty roll. It's so creamy and delicious!! One of my very favorite things to eat in WDW. Will be a staple of my visit for as long as they make them.
Fantasmic is a great show, but its worth waiting an hour and a half before show time for. At least with rides the Queue offers some form of entertainment. Even then if the wait is over 20 minutes I move on.
Oak trail may only be a 9 hold course but it is the better amintained than any corse in my area. I thinking walking is an important part of golf so I enjoy this course over the other Disney Courses where golf carts are required. The course marshalls where very friendly and helpful. One even went back to the clubhouse to get me some balls from the driving range after I had lost all mine in the woods.
The winter course is by far the better one here. Both courses have a replica of Cinderella's Castle that looks like ice and sand respectivly. The summer course gives the impression that imaginers ran out of ideas since many holes are a simple straight putt. A good course for kids and fo anyone who loves Chirstmas music. If your looking for better themeing and a little more challenge I recomend Fantasia Gardens.
Cant review the fairways course because it was being resurfaced while I was there but the gardens course was the best themed course I ever played. Theres a fine line between a course that s a challenge and one that is fustratingly hard. This course was challengeing enough to be fun without making me want to bite my putter in half. Perfect thing to do on a day away from the parks.
Cinderlla's Castle is my favorite building in the world. Its been a dream of mine to dine at Cinderella's Royal Table inside the castle. I wasn't able to secure a reservation at my 180 day window, but being as stubborn as I am called back every day until at last 3 weeks before my trip a spot opened up. I got to the castle about 20 minutes before my 8:30 AM reservation and was prepared to wait, but the Cast Members out front bowed an welcomed me in right there and then. I was given a royal invitation with Cinderella's picture on it. Cinderella herself greeted me and A royal photographer took my picture with her. The entry hall itself was well themed with a suit or armor and Cinderella's mouse friends hiding in the rafters. A winding staircase covered by a red carpet lead the way to the resturant. I passed by a beautiful stained glass window with Cinderella on it. The restrooms were even labeld for Lords and Ladies. Words cannot describe how beautiful the dining area is. It was expertly themed with Medival flags and windows gave an excellent view of Fantasyland. Despite me being 26 I was happy to be given a toy sword and a wishing star. My server referred to me a Lord all meal which brought a smile to my face. I had fresh squeesed orange juice to drink. I was also given a big plate of pastries (I highly recommend the cinnamon rolls) a big bowl of sliced fruit and wonder french toated stuffed with creme cheese. I had read bad reviews of the food, but It was the best meal i had the whole week I was at Disney. Not to long after my french toast came a narrator told an abridged story of Snow White as Snow White herself entred the Dining Hall. Mine was the third table she visited. I was worried that being an adult and being there alone would cause all of the Princesses to rush by me, but luckily that wasnt the case. Snow White spent just as much time at my table as she did at the other tables. Thanks to nice man at the next table I was able to have my picture taken with her. (I ended up relieing on his help alot) When Snow White had gotten a few tables away the narrator told an abridged story of Sleeping Beauty. Princess Aurora entered the hall. Once again I was very pleased with the amount of time she spent at my table. Not long after Aurora moved on the royal photographer delivered the 8 x 10 pictures of me and Cinderella and of Cinderella's Castle along with 4 5 x7 pictures of me and Cinderella that are included with the price of the experience. Next out was my favorite Princess and 2nd favorite all around Character Princess Ariel. I was wearing a lanyard that had a pin of Ariels in mermaid form. When Ariel stopped at my table she saw the pin right away and declared her love for it. In my mind that was the highlight of the meal. Last but not least was Belle. I made her happy when I said I respect a woman who reads. She made me happy when she asked m to use my sword to solve her Gaston problem. Once all 4 Princesses were in the hall came the wishing ceremony. I wont spoil it here other than to say I'm not much of an amotional person but it brought a tear to my eye. It may seem a little pricey (especially for a large family) but you are paying for a once in a lifetime experience more than a meal. I highly recommend everyone tried thisat least once.
I arrived at the Brown Derby about 15 minytes before my 4:35PM reservation so i was prepared to wait. I waited the 15 minutes plus another half hour after my reservation time. First sound I heard when I finally got in the dining area was a screaming child. While not out of place for a theme park it was unwelcome at the a place that is to be considered fine dining. My server then "recommended" the highest priced items on the menu. He was quick to bring me my soda and basket of rolls, but that was the last i saw of him until my Cobb Salad arrived 10 minutes later. When the salad came my server asked if he could mix it up in front of me which I recommend passing on. Half of the salad ended up on the tablecloth and floor. The salad tasted good I was just a little annoyed that so much was wasted. there was another long wait until my entree (duck two ways) arrived, during which i emptyed my glass but had to wait until my server came with the entree befoe i could get a refill. The duck tasted great despite the wait. For desert I decided to try the Grapefruit cake. It was a little on the dry side, but tasted ok. All in all, the food at the Brown Derby is great but the service needs work. Not worth 2 credits on the dining plan.
You get what you pay for by staying at Disney's value resorts. Breakfast is your basic eggs, bacon or sausage, waffles, pancakes, french toast. I liked the bounty platter - great value for what you pay for. The omlets were decent and always a safe bet. If the resorts are crowded, prepare for a wait since everyone else is getting up at the same time - I'd recommend getting there before check out time. Also, most of the windows changed to lunch at 11 AM, so be sure to get there with plenty of time to spare unless you want lunch that early. Average lunch and dinner. Nachos, burgers, fries, taco salad. The plus is you can create your own salad. Again, you shouldn't expect to get gourmet food staying at a value resort. If you want gourmet, go pick up food somewhere else.
I love the fish and chips here! I can't explain it. The flavor is awesome and I literally crave it when I am not in Florida. The fish is crunchy and the chips are perfection. I highly recommend complimenting your counter service meal with a Dragonsfruit Vitamin water! :) I always eat here at least twice when I am at World Showcase. The best! try it!
I have eaten here annually since 2005 and I love everything about it. There are many choices for food, the service is great and there is ample seating. The desserts are some of the best on property and they are included in the Disney dining plan.
I ate here in December 2010 on the QS dining plan. The service was good. The empanadas de queso was marvelously tasty. The churros I had for dessert were good, but they didn't stay warm long enough. There was not enough seating for everyone, but I was able to find a bench nearby.
Not much to say about the Dole Whip Float (pineapple soft serve in pineapple juice) that hasn't been said already by thousands of people all over the web: It is, quite frankly, delicious! My hands-down favorite warm weather treat. Lines get long at Aloha Isle (especially as the temperature rises!) so please be patient and realize it's a small location with lots of people wanting the same treat.
Went to the Clambake dinner for my first time on 2/27/11. It was delicious, we will definitely go back. The clam chowder and crab legs were perfect. In fact, we had a party of 10, and we were all very please with the buffet. It was one of our favorite meals of the trip. It is a must-do for anyone who is a seafood fan. (There are also some delicious choices for non-seafood fans as well.)
Made it back to Boma on 3/1/11 with a party of 10. We were seated promptly and our server was great. The food as usual was spectacular. This one one of my favorite restaurants on property. As always there was a wide variety of selections that could please someone with exotic tastes (like myself) or those who are less adventurous in what they are willing to eat.
Been to the park several times before and enjoyed it despite ungodly crowds (as other members have noted: come early, leave early). However, if there is even the slightest chance of "inclement weather" don't plan on visiting the park. As usual Disney tries hard to make it near impossible to find reliable information. The park was scheduled to open for 10 A.M. Despite several phone calls to guest services, resort front-desk, information, etc... they waited till noon to tell us that the park would be closed for the day (despite the fact that the weather cleared-up around 11:30 A.M.). What's more, don't bother trying the direct line posted on most sites. Disney changes these #'s on a frequent basis.
I just got back from vacation last week and I definately give this restaurant 2 thumbs up for both food quality and authenticity and excellent and personalized service! Our waiter Martin was the sweetest man ever...he even gave my kids special treat! My kids ate the entire plate if food and I could not be more satisfied. The atmosphere was very beautiful and family friendly unlike Tutto italiano in epcot. The waiter and the delicious food really made my family 's trip even more memorable! Even though we were on the dining plan the total bill was affordable (3 refillable adult drinks, 3adult entees, and 3 adult desserts) was about 80.00. Not too bad at all! If you are in Magic Kibgdom I definately suggest eating at Tony's!
There was one nice thing abt. my family's experience at dinner at shutters...the waitress! Very nice lady from Jersey (ooops forgot her name) but the menu and food was horrible in my opinion. My daughter hadbaked chicken with blackbeans and rice...i cook way better chicken with my eyes closed and hands tied...the rice was ok but then how can u mess up rice and beans...i had jerk tuna and I felt like I was the one to get "Jerked"...it came raw...sushi style and when I say oh no pls cook it fully it came back really dry and yuckie. The jerk seasoning was not good...not even spicy like real carribbean food. They did have steak on the menu...that may have been good. If u are looking for real authentic carribbean food do not eat at Shuttets. The food is so so at best. Sorry...
Obviously very authentic and delicious food because it is made by Italians straight from Italy, but my family and I agreed that we were not greeted with sincere smiles or no outstanding service. Made me have mixed reveiws of the resteraunt. (you know when your in a place like Disney you expect to have both of best worlds so to spk... Excellent quality plus even more superb service?) Well that was not the case here...excellent and delicious Italian food with unfriendly service. Made me feel like I was back in NYC.
The menu had a variety of dishes. I ordered a pasta and seafood dish that was soooo tasty and my kids had a chicken and pasta dish they could not stop talking about. We just went to Disney 2wks ago and even our waitress ASHLEY was so great...she really put a smile on my family's face!
Being the beneficiary of an actual education; I find the emphasis on minor "contributions" to American culture a huge disservice and only for the benefit of satiating activist groups by aggrandizing "achievements" which amount to little or nothing in the grand scheme of things. Misinformation and propaganda designed to extend some sort of adulation where none is deserved or needed. Clearly, activists realize the power of Disney presentations and the effect they can have on impressionable people. The fact that people couldn't stop yammering away on cell phones and/or texting didn't help. Never again.
I find a LOT of what is being conveyed here as propagandized half-truths and activist satiating drivel- It's somewhat offensive. It's a FAR cry from the original intent.
This ride is a super ride! Its has a cool queue. It is an antique feel with tons of dirt and dust and cobwebs. Its computer generated, and every time there is a different drop sequence,so every time you go on its a different feeling. I ADORE this attraction.
I shouldn't have went here so close to my visit to Boma. It didnt compare.
We ate there in January and while $35+ for a buffett is expensive it was very, very good. Second only to Ohana in my opinion.
This place while lovely, was not very good, and massively overpriced. The menu is limited and pretentious. The flank steak was overcooked.
We ate there on 1/21/11. Missed Cat's appearance there, by three days. (sigh) A sampling visit, as we are foodies, but didn't want to fill up. We split the Kouzzina Sampler to start. Loved the spiced chick peas, prawns, and sesame-lamb meatballs and considered all to be flavor bombs. Tzatziki was good, Dolmades(stuffed grape leaves) needed more Oomph, but we'll have it all again. And the bread was so good. I ate the top off of the whole loaf after the app. Didn't want to fill up, but I could see that happening, anyway....... Next, we split the Kouzinna Trio-Pastitsio(or as the menu calls it, Greek style lasagna, which is about the only way you could desribe it to the average Disney customer), and now I want to make that myself. It is sheer entertainment food. I cringe when I read a review comparing it to actual lasagna. The Lamb Burger. Also great. And the Cinnamon-Stewed Chicken with Orzo, our most satisfying finish, which opened our world to cinnamon being used in savory dishes. We're going again, of course. Luck of the draw, we had a great waiter, Said, I think? Hope he's still there, this time. One month to go, and we're counting the days. Go.
I really love test track it's awesome ride! I can't wait to ride it again next month!
one of my must dos. The only thing is they can vamp up the girt shop.
Tis ride is one of my top 20. it is a a chance to get a ton of great pictures. During catastrophe canyon when the water is pushing sooooo hard you cant see, take a picture. I have a picture of my brother smiling with the water blurring in the backround. One of my favorite pics. the only bad thing is that when they say that" now's a great picture of the Earfful Tower" therecording is late.other than that realy fun. My uncle and grandfather went and did the special effects. it was soooooooo funny. I also love riding through the costume warehouse.

I love going to the Laugh Floor with my family. Its is somtimes has bad jokes, but other times you can get a really good show. I reccomed this for kids.
i'm going to keepm this short and sweet do it!!!!! the only bad thing i can thinkm of is that the water is freezing. other than that it's a must do.
O.K. if your going to disney in december or early January I RECCOMEND going to The Streets of America to see this "spectacle". It is the most beautiful thing i've ever seen it is amazing when there just on but you have to see them dance. It is, just, WOW words can't describe it. MUST DO MORE THAN ONCE TO SEE THEM DANCE TO DIFFERENT SONGS. If you have kids that watch Phineas and Ferb ther favorite characters, and platypus take over the show and make the lights dance. AWESOMENESS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I reccomend going into the giftshop in Japan. There is a place where you can open oyster and get a pearl. I did that and it was sooooo fun. You can keep a pearl by itself or you can get a ring, necklace, etc. It is a great souvenir
If you adore animals this ride is your ride. The giraffes get closer than most of the other animals but i don't have a problem with that I LOVE giraffes. The only bad thing is if there are animals in the way of your truck the peopla can't disturb them. Once i waite dfor almost 30 minutes for some stupid bird. Seriously?????????
I love this ride the only bad thing is that the ottom of the tube is open and if you don't keep your butt up it scrapes you :( Another good thing is that they have 3 courses so it reduces wait time. I wen really early in the morning like mionutes before it opened and i waited like 40 seconds max!!
It is O.K. If it is crowded i wouldn't reccomend going in there. It is super sticky EVERYWHERE,(as you can imagine)and if you taste a certin one it ruins your experiance. Another thing is there is a cherry fanta from i think Germany and it is better than some American pops. Just choose wisely.
I reccomend going into the toystore. It is sort of hidden but its worth finding. I opened an oyster and recieved a pearl. You get to keep it. It can be left the way it is or you can put it on a bracelet, necklace, ect. It is a great souvenir with a great story!!!!!!!! I really reccomend it.
This is an amazing ride! It has vibrant colors and beautiful scenery. The only bad thing is that the song glues to your mind for the rest of your life!!!!!!!
i love this ride it is the first thing i do every time i arrive at DHS each time i pass through the donut my brother and i scream DONUTS, its a tridition :)
Upon the planning of our vacation, we found that DIsney Resorts was completely unreliable in what they sold us for a package for me and my five children. Being such a large group, I trusted that they would set us up with reasonable accomodations and suggested meal plans for our group. They could not accomodate us at our original destination, the Port Orleans and we were told that we would be better suited at the Fort Wilderness Cabins. The "Cabin" was merely a trailer with fake wood sides, the location was three bus transfers from and to the parks that took over an hour each. Our room was very small and room service/ housekeeping was barely noticeable. When we went to the desk to complain that the room was too small for six people to be stuffed in, they offered us a golf cart and a bigger cabin as a resolution. They never followed through with the larger room and the golf cart. There was extremely poor lighting and unsafe walkways at night. The meal plans were used for breakfasts in the park because there was no other location for us to obtain a quick meal prior to going to wait in line for a bus. There was extremely poor customer service throughout our entire trip. Our comments were ignored throughout our whole stay. We stood a total of 14 hours of wait time for the week vacation just to get to and from the parks. We will never utilize the Disney Resorts group again for vacation planning.
We went last week and we bought chicken strips for my daughter, one salad and a tiny frozen pizza for $40.00. I wish we would have gotten a turkey leg, a pretzel or even an ice-cream bar around the Park instead of this. Such a disappointment. They used to serve delicious burgers and have a "fix-it" bar.
My Daughter,me and my husband stayed at this resort for the first time. the resort was fine but we had to walk a ways for the pool and the resturant.
After reading previous reviews that are less than stellar, my wife and I had somewhat mixed emotions before arriving for dinner at Via Napoli. Being the eternal optimist that I am, I kept an open mind so as to not let negative opinions affect my experience. When approaching the restaurant and looking inside, the thoughts of what appeared to be a junior college cafeteria quickly came to mind? Certainly nothing distinct, but nothing that says this is a high end restaurant either. The décor was simple and understated. The openness of the room closest to the walkway seemed to put all of the diners on display so everyone can observe them like primates at the zoo. Upon entering and checking in we were promptly seated. We have been to many Italian restaurants but this is the first one where we were not offered some sort of bread. After discussing it with the wife, we concluded that it would probably be served prior to or with our meal. We were mistaken on that front, as bread is not served unless you ask for it and then it comes with no dipping oil or butter. When it came to the menu, we found it to very lacking in choices. I can find more to choose from in the cafeteria at my office than here. After perusing the menu, we decided to share our selections so we would be able to try different things. My wife ordered Linguini Frutti di Mare which is advertised as having shrimp, clams, mussels and squid tossed in a marinara piccante for $26. I ordered the Piccante individual pizza which comes with Italian spicy sausage, tomato and mozzarella for $16. Both selections were disappointing from a quality, taste and cost standpoint. The linguini was served in a small bowl that would be considered a salad bowl. It contained two shrimp, 4 mussels in the shell, 2 small pieces of squid and no clams to be found. The marinara was nothing to rave about as it had little seasoning and was very bland and seemed like it was out of a can. The pizza was really small even for an individual size. It barely filled a dinner plate. I was more than surprised by the lack of ingredients. The amount of meat on this pizza was so miniscule that they could have left it off completely and not affected the taste. The outer crust had a nice texture and pan pizza thickness but the inner crust was paper thin and limp. Can anyone say Chef Boyardee? We thought about supplementing our meal with salad but it was listed at $5 per person and did not appear to be worth the cost. For dessert, I ordered the Tiramisu at $8. It was about as good as a frozen Pepperidge Farm Cake. My wife ordered the Zeppole di Caterina at $10 which is ricotta cheese fritters served with whipped cream and chocolate sauce was lacking in ricotta cheese taste. It was just an okay dessert but not worth the price. After spending $80 with tax and tip and still coming away hungry as well as disappointed at the quality, Via Napoli is not going to see a return visit from us. Nor will it receive a recommendation to others who might be considering it.
this is a wonderful idea to ride in night in EPCOT!
We have been going to Rainforest Cafe's across the country (Tennessee, Texas and Florida) for about nine years. Our children love the environment, particulary the gorillas! While the environment is amazing, with the gorillas, monkeys, elephants, giant butterflies and birds, along with the rain storm every 20 minutes, the food leaves something to be desired. There is literally only one item on the menu I eat, the chicken fajitas. I've tried other foods and they're either loaded with seasoning, just plain bland or something I wouldn't be interested in. This is a wonderful experience for your children, but if you're going for the food, head over to Landry's other restaraunt at Downtown Disney, T-Rex Cafe! The food there, along with the environment is incredible! Landry's needs to take a tip from its newest restaraunt and change up the menu at the Rainforest Cafe!
I went to the T-Rex Cafe with some of my friends the month it opened. I knew it would be amazing when I heard it was owned by Landry's, the same company that owns the Rainforest Cafe and the Aquarium Restaraunt. What shocked me was the quality of the food. While I love the environments of the other Landry's restaraunts, I have always been disappointed by the food. T-Rex was a whole new world in that realm. The food and drinks are delicious, particularly the mammoth musrhoom pasta! We also took our son there for his 4th and 5th birthdays. He loves being around all the dinosaurs and the meteor shower that happens every 20 minutes! We even went to the Build-a-Dino workshop (owned by Build-a-Bear) and made dinosaurs for him and his sister. If you're at Downtown Disney, this restaraunt is a MUST, even if you don't have children! The food alone is worth it!
We've been to 1900 Park Fare every time we've been to Walt Disney World in the past 9 years. It started out as a dining experience for our daughter to meet her favorite princess, Cinderella. We were pleasantly surprised when it included the mice, Prince Charming, the fairy godmother, the evil stepmother and evil stepsisters! On top of the character experience, the food was amazing! Our family is made up of extremely picky eaters. If it's not cooked the way we like it... we won't come back. But the food at 1900 Park Fare is outstanding!!! If they keep up the great things they've been doing, we'll keep going each time we're there!
This ride isn't just content with being bad, it also has to pin you in an uncomfortable position and burp in your face. That's all been said, but what I think is important to emphasize is that all of the non-smelly effects just plain don't work. You can hear the speakers next to everyone else's heads as well as yours, it sounds like there are a dozen little Stitches running around. If you're sitting in the back, it sounds like he's supposed to be behind you, but there's a wall there (and not enough room above you for him to be up there either). You can HEAR the Stitch anamatronic moving around like a robot, as well as the "burp" smell loudly being pumped into the room like they're not even trying to disguise it (hissssss). As soon as the lights went out I tensed up, waiting for something cool/scary to happen, and man, was I disappointed. It's never clear WHERE Stitch is supposed to be, or how he's moving around, or what's going on. He's a huge stumpy blue thing in a small crowded room! The logistics make no sense. Could they seriously have been more lazy? I can't say much about Alien Encounter since I never went on it. But this ride, since it doesn't move, completely relies on some level of immersion, on it "feeling" real, and it never does for a second. Honey I Shrunk The Audience feels (or, sadly, felt) 10X more real, and when was that designed again? So anyone over the age of seven won't be scared (or amused) because it's so painfully fake. Any tender kids under the age of seven would probably be scared out of their minds since all they know is it's really really dark, and there are loud noises. The humor doesn't cut the fear since it isn't funny. So there isn't any target age, NOBODY will enjoy this ride. Most will hate it, since it literally assaults the senses. It straps you down and blows stinky air in your face. What were they thinking? I give this ride another, like, three years at the most. Sooner or later they'll have to wise up. I look forward to it being replaced with something much cooler (and less stinky).
Mousegear is my favorite shop in EPCOT and I love it!
This is an okay shop. It's good if you're in the area and you're waiting for someone to get off a ride or waiting for a reservation, but if you want to get to the other attractions I wouldn't suggest spending too much time in here unless you're a hardcore fan :)
This is like a Costco for Disney stuff! They almost every disney item you can think of! If you want to get some serious Disney shopping done and don't have a time limit, come here. If you're in a hurry and you just want to grab something, don't come here. You'll end up spending a lot more time and money than you intended. A couple trips ago we came to get out of a rain storm and spending an hour and fifteen minutes in there. This is heaven on Earth for everyone :)
I love this ride. I went on it for the first time during our trip this past August, thinking I wouldn't like it. Well, I went on and ended up loving it. I think we went on it at least three times in a row! It's just so much fun and everyone was laughing the whole time. It's really not as crazy as they make it seem. It's a great starter coaster. It's in my top 5 favorite rides now :)
We loved it here! We had a great server who was from our state so we talked alot about it. I had the Pan Asian noodles which were really great! We had a lot of fun here and we will definitely be coming back here. It's my new favorite WDW restaurant for sure.
This is my favorite ride at Disney World. Not only is the very idea of flying over London and Neverland enchanting, but the attention to detail is beyond astounding. When flying over London the forced perspective is incredible. Look down at the ground and you can see tiny cars that are actually moving across the miniature streets. This ride is definitely the most magical at any Disney park and always will be. A must-do for EVERYONE visiting the parks!
While visiting Orlando, we made a quick last minute ADR for the Polynesian for lunch. After checking in, they accidentally gave our table to party that had already been seated, so instead of giving us their table, the hosts didn't know what to do with us, so they seated the party behind us instead. After a few minutes, another host finally said to just seat us already, no matter where our little piece of paper with our name was at. Bob was our server and he was on top of things! The food was very good. I had the Barbecue Pork Tacos which were very tasty!! My boyfriend had the Shrimp & Coconut Curry soup (amazing!!) and the Stir-Fried Asian Noodles which I thought was only okay. So to be fair, the rating will only take service and food into consideration (not the seating incident at the very beginning).
I definitely miss this classic attraction. My sister and I would ride and pretend whoever was driving was taking their drivers test. Silly, I know, but it always made us laugh and we enjoyed it.
Horizons was one of my absolutely favorite in all of WDW. I loved smelling the oranges as you traveled past the orange grove. The length of the ride was great.. Everything about it was awesome!
Dreamflight wasn't a thrilling or suspenseful ride but for some reason, I loved it! It was one of my favorite in MK and I was very sad to see it go. I do like Buzz but I liked Dreamflight better...
Dear Guest Services, I am a 60 year woman who has visited Disney World with my 5 children about 20 times over my years, I recently brought my 6 grandchildren down to see Mickey. We visited all the parks and had a great time making memories. On January 24, 2011 my husband and I decided to spend some time in Hollywood Studios and have lunch, shop and visit our favorite rides. Since it was lunch time when we arrived, we decided to have lunch. We walked over to Hollywood and Vine and thought the buffet looked good. So about 2pm we were seated by the hostess and told our waitress will be right over. After 10 minutes had passed, we asked another waiter if we had a waitress,he said I will find her. When 10 more minutes passed, we decided to go up to the buffet and start eating. We had salad and soup and still waiting for our waitress to get a drink. We then went up and served ourselves our lunch. When we returned to our table, our salad and soup dishes were still on our table. Since the table was so small, we moved our dishes on to the booth beside us.We then started eating when a waitress came over and asked if we needed a drink. We ordered our drinks . I told her about the dishes and she said I will be back. We have now been at the restaurant about 30 minutes. We finished our lunch and proceeded up for dessert. AGAIN, we returned with our lunch dishes on the table and our salad dishes beside us on the booth. We did get our drinks though. Now it was time to get the bill. You know the waitress was all over us. She said as she placed down the bill "Oh by the way did u want coffee." We both said no thank you. As we looked at the bill, we both decided not to leave an 18 percent tip as recommended on the bill. We left her a small tip since our service was appalling.I guess I was more desappointed that a Disney restaurant had such poor waitresses since there about 8 people in the whole restaurant. The story gets worse. We paid the bill and proceeded down the street to enjoy some rides. You will not believe what happened next because I still can not believe what your waitress did.Your cast member Brenda S. left the restaurant and ran down the street after us and grabbed my husbands shoulder. We turned around and she handed him back the tip and said " you can keep your tip." We were so humiliated and stunned by her outrageous remarks, we just stood there. She mumbled something as she turned to walk back, when my husband said"I am going back and speak to your manager." She said go ahead,I do not care." She began to run back to the restuarant and we walked back. We spoke to Eric Dierno who was Brenda's Manager. He was also appalled at this behavior. He repeatedly asked , she chased you down the street. We said YES. He could not have nicer to us. He insisted we take money back for the buffet and told us if we are ever there again stop by and see him.. Eric did try and get Brenda out to the restaurant to tell her side but she refused to face us. I do not think I have ever been treated like this anywhere but especially in a disney restaurant. After this episode,I could not stay in the park. My stomach was in knots, so we needed to leave and go home to rest for health reasons. Imagine having a waitress yell at you with all these people standing there and listening. We stopped in at Guest Services and told them what happened and recommended us to contact you. Beside all the humiliation and stress, we wasted our park tickets for that day. We hope we hear from you soon and something can be done about this incident. Disney has always been our favorite place to visit and I hope this will continue. Thank You in advance. Stephen and Eileen Barbuto 134 Cheryl Drive East Bridgewater, Ma 02333
It is a long ride (about 3 min) when you compare it to r'n'r' which is about 1 min. This ride is not for the weak at heart! It is more fun the more you ride it becasue you can play along with the story and have fun with the people near you. I watched it being built and knew it was a big ride but you have no idea until you try it.
I use to love this place then they made it hard to get to (have to take 2 different buses or drive). They also took out NFL stuff. I can see if you are going there to watch or play a game then it would be great. Are you going to go here instead of one of the big 4 parks --no, are you going to go here instead of a water park -- no, are you going to go here instead of Downtown Disney -- no. It is great during ESPN weekend because there is activity. If you want a open place for the kids to run around then you found your spot.
I enjoy EPCOT for many reasons. First everything exits into a store or a place to eat. But if you have kids of different ages you have tons of options! Mission space older kids ride younger kids have games and place to play at exit. Soarin' -- older kids ride younger ones can go on the land ride or eat and wait. Ice station cool has free drinks -- not all good but they are free. Spaceship Earth has been updated. Added Characters to almost every country to help draw kids. Mexico has the mini-small world ride. You can find something for everyone. Kids don't miss the kidstop activities.
I have seen this twice once from a boat and once from hotel. The best I can say is that if you are there it is worth watching but it is not something to go out of your way for. You rush to see fireworks or Fantasmic, you are not going to travel around to see the water pagent.
Expect a long wait but you can get good pictures if you wait it out. It is very cool to ride this late at night when the fireworks are going, that is the best way to get great pics.
This is a great place for little ones to run around while you figure out where you want to go next. If you get 5 minutes then that is good. Wonder why there is not any water running anywhere near the boat??
Don't sleep on Hollywood Studios!!! The best rides with Rock'n'roll a coster, tower of terror, toy storymania. Cool shows. Great things to do and see. Good food. With special things like ESPN the weekend. So much fun!!!!
not too many options on their menu but i like the orange chicken. my only complaint with that is there was not enough sauce to cover the rice. i spreaded it out as much as i could but i ended up eating some plain white rice (blah) next time i may bring my own sauce to make sure theres plenty ha but besides the food, i'm taking away a star for 2 reasons. one is there is covered outdoor seating which allows for birds to fly in to the eating area. i am NOT a fan of birds so i definitely don't like them flying around me when i'm trying to eat. and this isn't their fault but when i was there this woman put food on the ground encouraging the birds to come in. grrrr the other reason i'm taking a star away (and i'm not sure they do this all the time or just when i was there that day) but when i was trying to view the outside menu before walking into the place, they yell at u from inside to come in and look at the menu instead of the outdoor one (clever way to get people in to buy things but i don't appreciate it. i would like to be able to view the outside menu THEN go in if i decide to order something) and while i was eating i heard them do it to everyone who passed by not just me. so other than that the orange chicken i had was yummy. give it a try!
We ate at Kouzzina on 1/21. Our server was very knowledgable and helpful in directing our selections. I had the Cinnamon Chicken, which was tasty, but fatty. The Galaktoboureko was incredible! But it was all very rich. My friend had the whole fish, which was delicious and the Chocolate Budino Cake. The cake was not too sweet, very chocolatey. All in all, it was a good meal, but not great. Since we were on the DDP, I didn't pay attention to the prices, but I'm not sure I would venture back to pay out of pocket.
If you are there several days, you cannot believe how your body will crave something other than pizza and burgers. Chicken noodles with VEGETABLES?!?!? Bliss! Get there early and hog a table at the edge of the terrace, a great place to watch the fireworks from...
Service was rude, slow, and actually talked back to us. Food was horrible as well. Very overpriced. This place should be kicked out of Disney.
we went to flying fish the week after thanksgiving 2009 and again 2010. we had a great time on both visits. wonderful wait staff. great food. we had a 9-something adr and got there much quicker than expected (not our kind of usual luck lol) but they were able to go ahead and seat us. i love this place. it would likely be packed and impossible to get into if it were in a different location. being on the boardwalk is likely why you can get an adr less than 180 days out otherwise based on the food/service etc... i think it would be one of the hardest reservations to get on wdw property. i almost hope it doesn't get to popular...it's a great secret little place to eat.
went to citricos the first night of our stay. meal was absolutely wonderful. service was spot on. we had the sauteed shrimp with lemon, white wine, tomatoes, & feta cheese app (WONDERFUL) and the swordfish for the main dish again wonderful. my sister had the crab cake app and steak for main dish and loved it as well. i could have easily eaten here every night of our stay. also when we got home i realized i'd forgotten to ask about getting the recipe for the shrimp app. i sent an email with my reservation number and had it back from them in about two days. LOVE THIS PLACE.
went to california grill the 1st time in the summer of 2007 and it was by far one of the best meals/dining experiences we'd maybe ever had. was really looking forward to returning when i took my sister for her 40th birthday december 2010. service was terrible, both in the lounge/bar area and from our waiter. meal undercooked and had to be sent back. waiter was slow/lost most of the time. appetizers came out before our drinks (sodas not anything difficult) arrived at the table. walked in to see lots of empty lounge tables with dirty glasses/dishes on them. stood for about 20 minutes then asked someone to clean one for us to use it. waitress came by once, i was waiting for the 2nd person in party (the bday girl) to return from restroom before we ordered so the waitress never came back. several attempts to hail her down useless. i was soooooooo disappointed after our original experience. inconsistency kills it for me.
stopped in for a semi-liquid sort of lunch the 1st week of december 2010. great service. loved the guac, salsa, and crab tostadas. had a blood orange margarita and a wild berry margarita, both were fantastic and not watered down at all. i wish the tequila flight (the one with the mixed drinks not just the shots) that they have occasionally was a regular part of the menu. it's a great way to try flavors you might not otherwise take a chance on trying. i will most certainly go back on next trip.
Ate here 1/17/2011! Had an absolutley wonderful time! Service was great and the food was even better! Would highly suggest it to any couple looking to get away from the hustle of your typical dinning experience in Disney! It was a quiet night, with not to many other tables around us, our waitress was beyond attentive and the Calamari was some of the best have had in a long time from any restaurant. The fog rolled in over the water giving us a wonderful romantic feel of just us next to the patio. Once the fog cleared we had an even greater view of DTD.
I think I may cry when I see all these wonderful additions.
This ride gives you the perfect feel for the sentiment of the park.
Wish I had more thumbs...this ride is AWESOME!
I have been avoiding this ride for some time due to bad reviews, but finally decided to give it a go and decide for myself. Save yourself the time and use your precious Disney minutes waiting in a line for one of Disney's AWESOME rides! You are strapped down in a chair and an alien spits and breathes his bad chili breath on you. Not fun. My son hated it!
Can we liven this up a little more? If you didn't already know the story line, I think you might be a bit confused on this one. Disney has a lot of money and I think they should spend some of it on this attraction.
I love this ride! I know most of the movies they refer to on this one, but my son, who is six: no clue! It bores him, so I think that if they could incorporate a few modern movies, it would greatly improve the experience for people of all ages!
We were there at the Grand Opening of AK and have watched the park grow over the years but here is the problem 1) lack of good food options 2) Asphault ground makes the park hotter than it already is. 3) Park closes early as oppesed to other parks 4)You have limited rides. Safari, E.E., Rapids, Dino and Whirl and kid ride and boneyard. Kids will only look at the animals for a short time so if you get there first thing in the morning you will be done by 1ish with a show or 2 you will be done by 3. We usually go here the day we arrive or the day we are leaving or go and take off for pool when we have a dinner that night. Don't get me wrong it is not a bad park at all but most of the time we use it in combo with another park (best is morning here and afternoon at H2O park.)
I love this place!!!! tons to do and cheesecake factory upstairs. Human pinball, games both old and new. V.R. games very cool
Only place with games for stuffed animals fun rides, good area.
The show is dated but it is nice to sit and get some AC. If you have never seen it you should at least once.
Granted they taste funny but there is 1 that is good. They do a fair job keeping it clean. It was redone a couple of years ago and that helped.
Great to see at night!!
TV helps. Mostly classic characters you will see if you do a character meal.
Fun to see Hook and Smee, and Brer Rabbit, bear and fox. Country bears "roam". Tent can be long wait to see characters.
They do have good characters if you can find them and they are not always out where and when the map says. If you stay close it is easier to walk over and ask who will be out and when
The best spot to see classic Disney and new Disney. You can catch almost everyone here
The one highlight of this park is they have different characters.
It is a fun way to end the ride and is well done.
The best way to describe the show/ride is cute. The best feature is the a/c in the summer and you can rest for 20 minutes. If you have seen it once then you know the story and song. It would be nice if they update the last area. Nothing to scare kids
The best thing is to go here about 20 minutes after show starts. You can see all the characters with little to no wait.
This is a good ride that everyone can enjoy. My wife could care less about the "game" and just takes pictures. The kids love to try and beat each other. Nothing to worry about on this ride.
Expect long lines!! It is fun but crowded. S.P is the best thing about this park. not bad food for a water park. Must, must, must use sunblock or the rest of you trip will be a sunburnt nightmare.
This is a old time ride and the wait times in the summer for this have been 10 to 15 min. We do not even use Fastpass for this anymore. It is just a old time ride for us older folks.
It is a good Disney show. No it is not Broadway and yes the movie is cut down to fit a 25 min. show but you know that going in. Overall it is a good show and it is hot because it is a outdoors but that said it is also a good place to sit see a show and figure out where to next.
Great views, my kids like this more and more as they get older. Very cool at night. The line is usually way to long for this type of ride. 45 min wait during the day is way too long -- I can see that for Splash Mountain but not for this one.
Kali river rapids has been changed over the years so no big drop and not as long of a ride but worth going on. Everything else is good as well
If you go in the exit of the anamation studio you are right at the characters and that is better than having to watch that show over and over. Drawing the characters is fun -- i can not draw and our family gets a kick out of looking at our art.
not much other than the safari, it is always hot at AK
Adventureland and Tomorrowland are the place to be!
I liked it and the kids enjoyed it as well
Good layout, able to find something. Not the highest quality of food but it is better than the mall food court. It is what you would expect. They do a good job of trying to keep it clean -- which can be hard at the big drink counter.
I had heard this was a good place (the kiss of death) and finally we decided to try it. We were seated quickly and our waitress "Spicy Margarita" was very good. If you want somewhere quiet and reserved then pick another place. If you want a place where you can laugh and enjoy the "show" while you eat then you have a good spot here. We got the all you care to eat skillet and we thought the food was great no problems with any of the meat. I must have been good because my picky eater even asked for more. More food was brought out fairly quickly (the key is ask before you run out then it gets there when you need it). I can see why some people may not like the Whispering Canyon but your attitude makes or breaks the meal.
First the good news, the place looks great and you get a good feeling from the place. Everyone who works there is from Italy so there can be some issues with that. The food was very good when we were there. The down side is the price. If you are on the meal plan then you come out way ahead as you can read below the cost is high. If you are not on the meal plan then I would look elsewhere.
This is the one place that always gets mixed reviews from my family and friends and our own experences. They share a kitchen with hoop-dee-do so you would think the food would be the same and the first time we ate here in 2006 we found a uncrowded place with great food at a great price. Over the years the buffet has changed the top notch food is still good but no longer the choices that use to be there. My family hated it when they went in 08 and have not gone back. We went again it was good but not what we remembered.
It is hard to mess up fruit and drinks -- if you want something better than cookies or ice cream to snack on then this is the spot. Not the fastest place.
If you are going to eat here time it so you eat during the parade and ask for a window seat then you can eat and watch the parade without the trouble. The food is good the wait is usually not bad and the staff is fairly good. We have been here a couple of times but the thing is the sauce seems to have changed and not for the better. If you can't find anywhere else it is not a bad option.
I have been here 10 times over the past dozen years and have always had good service, good food and a good time. The omelets are awesome. The songs with the kids are great. It is a overall good time for breakfast. It is not cheep so if you have the meal plan it is a good use of a table service.
I will say that this is your normal counter service. It is a outdoor area so when it rains or is windy it may not be the best choice. It is good.
We went here for lunch and had a wonderful meal. The positives cool view, mood lighting and the lunch staff was quick and friendly. Food and drinks were very good. The food and size was good for the price. The downside the tables are close together so there is a crowded feel and the bathroom is way in the back and the closer you sit to them the worse it is. Our next visit we went for dinner and the food as good but not as good as lunch. The price for size and value was not good. The wait staff not very quick and often left for long times. Crowded tables at dinner was also not great -- crowded tables and they are close together. So I would say if you are going to eat here do lunch.
This is better than the All Star resorts but not as good as Poly. So you get what you pay for. You are not going to make a special trip to eat here but if you are staying at Riverside then this is a good option. Everyone can finds something to eat here. They do a good job keeping the place clean considering the crowds.
As you have read the lunch is McDonalds tie into Disney. There is no dollar menu so it is pricy and you can do better elsewhere. If you kids or you just want something quick and like Mcd anyway then this is fine, I just like to try Disney places rather than things I can get at home.
We liked the breakfast with Donald. It is your normal choices and we would go back for the breakfast. The wait staff was good the place was clean. There are not many options for meals if you are eating at AK. This is one we make a reservation for if we can not find anything better and are going to AK anyway.
The best thing for our family about this princess lunch was Ariel with legs instead of fins, that is right we saw "human" Ariel not mermaid Ariel. For those of you who have seen all the same character over and over this was a real treat. The food on the other hand was rather odd and other than the deli counter there was not much for the kids and my wife and I had a hard time finding something that looked good to us. So I am torn about this lunch. I liked the different characters but was not a fan of the menu. The staff does a great job. There is a difference between lunch and breakfast -- so I rated them separately.
This is a great princess breakfast! At one time this was the only place to see Sleeping Beauty. The food is good but the main point is the princesses. If you only have boys then this is not the place for you in my opinion. The food is the standard breakfast menu but not having to wait in line to see the princesses is great. We saw Belle and later in the day saw her again in France and she remembered us which was very special for the kids. If you have any girls this is just as good a place to go as the castle in MK. This was not the case before but the cutbacks at Castle has helped raise the stock of this restaurant.
What can I say it is about the same as the one at Downtown Disney but without the long wait. If you have a stroller it is not a convenient place to eat. Same atmosphere as every RC. If you have never been to one before then it is cool after the second time you get over the monkey real quick. Lightning inside can scare some kids. Food is not great but not bad. Considering limited places to eat at AK this can be a good option but I would take the bus and eat somewhere better.
There are not a ton of options at Animal Kingdom and Pizzafari is a safe bet. If you like pizza then this is where you should go at AK. Much less expensive than the kids pizza at Rainforest Cafe. Not really much to say about this place.
This is the same thing you will find everywhere from Myrtle Beach to Washington DC. Same menu, average taste and pricy food. We have been there a couple of times and the result is always the same. It is also kind of weird when the guy is working in the bathroom, it always makes me uncomfortable and then have to explain to the kids why someone works in the potty. There are just so many places to eat at Downtown Disney not sure why you would chose this place.
The food is your normal Rainforest Cafe menu. The best part is the volcano desert! We have more fun yelling volcano with the wait staff. The food is good not usually a issue with that the real issue is the Very Long wait time. This can be avoided (sometimes) if you are willing to eat outside. The place is not bad, don't get me wrong, but when I am at Disney I want something that I can not get anywhere else.
We boarded our 3 year old toy schnauzer, Riley Belle, at the new Best Friends Pet Resort in a vacation villa from 11/11 to 11/21 while we stayed nearby at Port Orleans French Quarter. The decision to pay the premium to board her in this specific accommodation on WDW property was a well-thought-out one. We considered all our options carefully. Ultimately we decided with the length of our stay it would be best for our furry family member to be in the best place we could find as close to us as possible. Check-in was a breeze. The caretakers were very kind and caring. They were extremely encouraging which made me feel more at ease and less like an overly-protective dog mom (which I am..this IS my first dog...LOL). I love that we could bring toys, blankets, and bedding from home. I felt having some of her familiar things would make the stay more 'homey'. I packed several of Riley's blankets to rotate out thinking they'd each be pretty smelly after only a few days use. This turned out to be a non-issue! The entire facility including all the enclosures and outside areas were immaculantly clean. Her bedding was never stinky and I never needed to rotate her blankets at all. They remained fresh the length of her stay. The vacation villa was superb. Riley had a big, cushy bed provided in addition to her little donut-style bed I brought from home. The flat screen tv down at her eye-level was great. Our dog is always with someone and rarely alone. We felt this was an important feature to have provided. We visited Riley's villa at least 5 times during our trip and always found her space extremely clean & in order. Also to note, our dog was in villa #13 which is almost all the way at the end of the hallway of villas. When walking past the other villas we saw many other dogs enjoying the same fabulous accommodations. Some were 2 large dogs in 1 villa with plenty of space to be comfortable. All the villas were just as clean and well-kept as Riley's. A few days into our stay the caretaking staff noted to us that our pooch wasn't eating. The staff keep careful records of everything each animal does from each time they use their little "potty patio" to whether or not they are eating and/or drinking. This is something I found particularly reassuring. We knew without a doubt that our girl wasn't just boxed up & forgotten. The staff suggested that we encourage her to eat which we did with eventual success. A consideration in deciding if we wanted to board our dog so close to us was was the thought that taking time to go visit and walk her would take away from time spent in the parks. I didn't want to have chores on vacation (like walking the dog). We actually found our visits and walks enhanced our overall vacation experience. We thoroughly enjoyed being able to stop in to see our little furry girl. The convenience was fantastic. Taking that time was a true pleasure and we enjoyed our trip that much more. Even our boys would ask at least once or twice a day to go visit Riley. Each day our dog received a 30 minute walk and a 30 minute play group with other like-sized dogs. These perks were included with the cost of the accommodation in a vacation villa. I know Riley really enjoyed that. The dog-walking trail was wonderful! I think my favorite touch was the doggy water fountain. I loved that. It's a nice trail. The only way it could be improved is if it was longer. The off-leash play area is the only thing we had even a little trouble with. One of our first visits we took our 10 lbs. toy-size dog out and there were 2 other large boxer-type dogs out. The larger dogs were excited to see our dog & wanted to play. Our dog wasn't her normally playful self & actually nipped at the big, rowdy pooches. I felt bad. Both the other owners and us were apologetic. I had previously read a review on another website stating this very problem. We weren't the first to not be able to use the off-leash area because of a broad size difference. If I had any suggestion to make, I'd suggest a separate off-leash play area for large and small dogs. I love that during each stay the caretaking staff take pictures of the pets and email them to the address provided. I was so excited the morning I checked my email on my iPhone and found a great little shot of our dog. These pictures are also rotated slide-show style on a big-screen in the Best Friend's lobby. When I saw Riley's picture up there I was so excited! Riley had a 'go-home-fresh' bath before we picked her up. She was fresh & ready to go. Prior to check-out each pet receives a "report card" noting the pet's behaviors & habits. I can certainly tell the staff took time to get to know our dog by the comments they left. Riley truly is a "power cuddler"! Check-out was super-easy. We truly felt like this was a deluxe level accommodation compared to the kennels we've boarded for shorter periods in the past. It costs more but the pets get a lot more so it's money well-spent. Also, DVC and annual passholders can get a discount so don't forget to mention it when making reservations and again at check-in. I would recommend Best Friends Pet Resort to any pet parent. Every aspect of Riley's stay was top-notch. The location was very convenient, our visits were enjoyable, and the staff are all fantastic. I'm sure we'll be back again in the future.
We have eaten here many times. I didn't think the pizza is as bad as some have said. I also liked the salad option. The one thing I know is that the kids will find something they like here. The gameroom is fine becasue they tried to keep it like the movie. Overall It is a good place to eat.
Our family has had many meals here and it is always better when you get a seat by the window and can see the "It's a small world" boat. The food is very good for counter service. They also do a good job keeping it clean. It is also in a good location. You can go see Ariel, Small World, Dumbo, Pooh, Micky's Philharmagic are all right there. Well worth eating here.
The food is good for counter meal. You can usually get a seat. It is a good meal and they will let you get a bottle water instead of soda. It is about what you would expect.
I love this place! If you enjoy high quality food you are in the right place. If you like something they bring you more if you don't like it skip it. They have fun activities for the kids throughout the meal. This help grown ups have time to eat. If you can ask for a window seat because at night the view is great. You will have a wait but there are plenty of seats upstairs and a TV or you can tour the hotel lobby, the pager has good range. What more can I say you should try to get a seat here. If you are staying at the Polynesian and don't try to eat here you are missing out.
Here is what you need to know if you are on the meal plan do not use it here. The portions are huge and for most meals they can be split between two people. Save the table service for a more expensive place and pay for this one becasue you can split a meal and be full. We made the mistake and used the meal plan for a family of 5 and a ton of food went to waste. I think if you enjoy your local chinese restaurant you will like Nine Dragons. Wait staff is split some good some not so good. Quick service helps and that also helps make sure you can usually get a seat even without a reservation.
There are a lot of good options here. I liked the food I got here and the kids could find something to eat without a problem. Caribbean Beach is the largest resort so they should have good food and they do. One tip when you check in ask for a room close to the food court or you could face a 10 minute walk to get there.
Over the past decade we have had eaten here at least a dozen times. In 2006 we ate lunch and dinner here the same day. One time our dinner ran late and the mananger gave us reserved seat tickets to Fantasmic so we would not miss the show. I am sad to say things have changed. We have never had a problem with the wait staff. The lobby is small and getting into the bathroom can be a chore but we could overlook all of that becasue of the food. Well on our last visit my wife and I both said the same things -- the sauce has changed. It is no where near as good as it use to be. I don't know if this is because of cost cutting or what it could have been but my wife said we might skip Mama Melrose in the future to try other places. This was a shock to me it was a place we use to look forward to going now it is just another option.
It is what it is, good bakery. Can get a snack before show or fireworks or quick breakfast in the morning.
There are a couple of things to know about this one. There are limited choices and the orange chicken is the best option on the menu. The place is very clean and there is always someone around to keep it that way. If you eat Chinese take out at home then you will like this food ( more than the take out I would guess ). I wish the menu had a few more options. I will eat here again I am sure.
The food is like a thanksgiving dinner except with a pork option. My wife was not a big fan and the kids were not very excited or disapointed with it. We went there when the characters were there and it was much more fun. They did a good job with games for the kids while we waited for a table all 3 of my kids won a prize. Without the characters the place lost some luster. I think we will skip this in the future, and when you can hop on the monorail and eat a the Poly. and get great food or hop on the boat and eat at Wilderness Lodge (Whispering Canyon) it is hard to justify using a table service meal here.
Not the best, not the worst. It is normal burger, hot dog, chicken. If you have kids they will most likely enjoy the food but I like to sample the food of other countries so it is not my first choice but if you eat here it is not bad.
We had tried to get into this Le Cellier for a couple of years but could never get a table. We were very excited that we finally got in. Our family of 5 was ready to try the place we had heard so many good things about. The meal started off very rough with it taking almost 10 minutes for someone to come to our table after being sat. Needless to say the service was very, very poor all night. The soup was good but I am sorry to say the steak was average (at best) everyone ordered a different type of steak so we could all get a sample. Nothing was very good, I was very let down after hearing so many good things. To cap the night off when we left there was vomit on the floor by the front door. I am sad to say I will not go back, I also think that with so many places to eat at EPCOT you can find somewhere better. If you have reservations you may want to look elsewhere if you go here keep your expiations low and expect spending 2 hours.
If you like mexican food you will most likely enjoy the meal. The place is not always the cleanest and sometimes you get taken over by the wildlife. We have been there 3 times and 2 were good one was not the best. Overall you get a good value but the menu is kind of limited.
Loads of 3D fun, easy to play for everyone! A ride coupled with a videogame, great idea! Well done! Too bad the lineups are gigantic... Get here early
The first time you do this, you will be amazed. Smaller kids may be scared during the drops though, it's not necessarily for the young ones. The view of the park at the top is stunning.
Skip this unless your kids are big big fans of Nemo. My two sons 8 and 11 got bored. Ride is verrrrrrry slow. Nothing much happens. We got on while waiting for our fastpass for Soarin, there was no lineup. Do it if you have to waste maybe.
We were 8 people - two families of four - visiting AK together. We stopped here after a hefty lunch at Flame Tree BBQ and the kids (ages 8-12) hit it out for about 30 minutes and they probably would have stayed here all day. Parents monitor the single entrance/exit! When there's a lot of kids, you can spend several minutes locating your own kids, this attraction is huge :-)
Even if my 8-year old son didn't want to ride it a second time, it is arguably one of the most entertaining at Magic Kingdom. I love the huge splash drop! You get wet but not that much. Use the same 1$ ponchos as for Kali River Rapids :-) A nice way to relax for a few minutes, cute animated characters along the way.
We loved this place, We made a breakfast reservation at 10:30 and had the best time with the playhouse disney characters (2 of the little einstines). The breakfast is your normal stuff that is everywhere but then at 11:00 the food changed to lunch and the meatballs were out of this world. The best part for the kids is at lunch the other 2 little einstiens came out. So we got to see all 4 and the other playhouse disney characters. It is well worth using a table service for this restaurant.
The one time we stayed at Grand Floridian we were going looking for somewhere to eat the day we arrived, it was lunch time and we got a table for 10 without a wait or problem. The server was good and the prices were not bad considering we were at the most expensive resort. Everyone found something they liked to eat. We liked it so much we changed another reservation later in the week to eat here again. I think if you tried it you would like it, no characters so you can eat without a problem.
It is not hard to get good reviews when you serve Ghirardelli and ice cream and sweet stuff. I didn't rate it as high because it is pricy. Not your normal Disney pricy but for a Sunday to cost over $7 is a bit much.
I really liked the Garden Grill. My wife didn't like the food as much as I did and the kids liked it as well. What you like they bring more of and what you don't like they take away. The restaurant has a good view of the land ride and the kids love to wave at the boats. I loved the steak and have never had the problems that some people have had with the food. Once agian most people eat at different countries in the World Showcase so this place gets overlooked. It is a great place to see Mickey.
There are not many counter service places to eat at AK and this is a good choice. I liked it but my family didn't. I will agree that they have taken away a lot from Flame Tree and that has hurt but if you have never been here you would not know any different. Cost is about the same as anywhere else. We now leave and eat a resort and then come back (that is the great thing about the bus you can pick anywhere to eat) and since AK is the hottest park it never hurts to sit and ride the bus
If you want a normal "American" meal at EPCOT then here you go. Most people sample the food from other countries so you can usually find a place to sit without a problem. We have eaten here a couple of times and it is uaually because everyone is hungry and does not want to wait.
If you have eaten at a ESPN zone in another city then you know what you are going to get. It does have very big portions which is a plus. They also have the best deserts that my kids still talk about. I also met David Toms here when the PGA had there event. The gameroom helps keep the kids busy while waiting for a table. If you have never eaten here it is worth going. You will come out ahead if you use the meal plan.
We have been here about a dozen times over the past 10 years and it is very consistant. Good food if you do not want to try something from one of the countries. You can usually find a seat without a problem and as has been said you can always sit by the fountain. If we want something more "American" and are in future world then this is where we go if we are in the World Showcase we eat at..USA. It is a good place to go overall.
Located near Pirates it is a limited menu but the staff does a good job keeping it clean. You can usually find a seat which is a plus when you have kids. Not my favorite place to eat even for a quick service meal but if you do eat here it is not bad.
It is what you would expect from a sandwich shop, good sandwich tough to find seats but you are at Downtown Disney so you can always eat by the lake near the stage. It is not my favorite place to eat have only gone there twice. It is a sandwich after all.
This is a close winner as my favorite counter service place to eat at Magic Kingdom. The best thing about this is the options you have, 3 different sides to order from so you can find something you are in the mood to eat. It is sometimes hard to find a seat but if you keep going around the corner there always seems to be seats open. It is harder to find seats near the show. The toppings bar is great! Staff does a good job at keeping things clean considering how busy it stays. Like anywhere if you go at peak lunch or dinner times it is crowded a few times we have gotten food and then taken it outside and eaten by tomorrowland transit authority or by noodle station seats.
We did this late in the evening in March when it was pitch black outside, very cool. Looks are deceiving, this was quite fun! It's not very scary but it does move you around a bit. I wonder what sort of refurb is upcoming for this.
The effort put in the architecture and artwork is fantastic. It outshines the fact that sleeping tigers are boring to watch, just as in any zoo. Anyway, makes for a nice stroll. Your mileage may vary.
This is like going to a zoo but you can't see the animals from up close. I don't want to sound picky but this ride is far from ideal if you like taking your time to watch animals, depending on where you are sitting in the vehicle. Small kids especially. Anyway, the ride is still worth your time. We saw and filmed a roaring (howling?) lion. If you can, try this ride during early magic hours at the beginning of the day and after hit the Everest.
I recommend this ride, it's fun for all ages, although those who prefer high-voltage excitement ought to pass. The kids love it. There are 2-3 minor splashes and one big one which guarantees everyone to get wet. The trick to buy a cheap plastic poncho for the whole family *before* you leave home. I got mine 1$ each. On site it's 7$ each. They are compact and you can re-use them. Bonus: they are great to hide the camera or camcorder when the big splash arrives! The ride fits about 10 people I think and at the center there is a storage area big enough to put a couple of backpacks or handbags.
Our family decided to try this after several visits to Disney and our friends told us we should have tried it a few years ago when it was good. I have to agree with them. Lets get to obvious out of the way, the view is very cool and makes the restaurant different and neat. It is a seafood place (our kids joked that dinner was the fishes that didn't do what they were told) and children who are too old for the kids menu had a hard time finding something to eat. The service is not good, very slow and distracted. The food was o.k. and after the meal I was happy I was on the meal plan and didn't have to pay for it right after the meal. It was average at best. There are just so many choices at Epcot or go out the side door and eat at the boardwalk that Coral Reef can be missed without a problem.
There was a time when the Castle only served breakfast and you had to call at 6:58 a.m. and if you didn't have a reservation by 7:03 a.m. you can forget that day. The wand (or sword) and blinking star have changed to plastic trinkets. Cinderella is no longer walking to tables, she stays downstairs -- that use to be Fairy Godmothers seat. If you have girls DO THE BREAKFAST do not do lunch or dinner. If you want to go here to eat with kids or as a couple DO THE BREAKFAST. I have eaten here every year starting 1999 and the food has stayed the same all that time. If you are going to eat in the castle the food isn't the real reason you are there and Disney knows it! So the eggs aren't the best but the fruit is fresh, the stuffed pastry is great, the meat is normal breakfast food for Disney. I like the kids menu almost more than the adults, they will bring you more of what you like and take away what you don't so you can get plenty to eat. The princesses are the star (I just don't like it when the pop in Prince Charming) and they have taken pictures with me, my wife, my kids and as a family. While it is true that you only get one "Professional" picture with Cinderella all your family members can get regular pictures with her. I liked it when it was harder to get into becuase you knew not everyone could do this, it felt exclusive and for Disney that is rare. If you do not have girls who like princesses then there are better options for you but if you do it will be something you won't forget. Just remember the one key point DO THE BREAKFAST!
We have had dinner at Chef Mickey's 10 times over the past dozen years. The characters are fun and the show is great for pics or viedo's. The food on the other hand has been getting worse over the past couple of years. The choices have also gotten smaller and the food is left out a little too long. In the past the food was switched out often so it always was fresh and looked good but you can tell that to save on food cost it is left out longer. The wait staff is usually good. The wait to eat isn't bad because you can take the pager and wonder around or watch what is going on. We have not tried the breakfast but have been told it is good. If you have never been it is worth going to the dinner.
If you like hot dogs you will like Caseys. I would say that this is food to eat on the go, come in, get food, walk out. If you want to eat inside you have to eat at off times (11:00 or 2:00 lunch -- dinner at 4:00 or 7:00). You have to be lucky to get table at a normal lunch or dinner time. It is good to take out to the parade or for fireworks or show in front of the castle.
I have stayed at the Poly. resort 5 times over the past 10 years and for the counter service or snack options on the meal plan this is a great place to eat. You have some choices rather than just a burger or hot dog. A few years ago it was redone and the upgrades were very good. Not much to say bad about this place.
I was looking forward to eating here but was disapointed with the outcome. We had a early dinner reservation and enjoyed the cute opening of Boatwright's. The service was not the best and I was not pleased with the dinner options. We were on the meal plan so we wanted to try new places. Knowing now what the place is like I would have chosen differently. The food was good but nothing great, If you already have plans to eat here and can find another option I would switch. I also could hear the tables around us making the same comments and the childern had a hard time finding something they liked on the menu.
I enjoyed the dinner we had at BRG. We had a large party (12) and even though the seating was crowded everyone liked there food. The beer was fun with the different options rather than just the standard choices. I would eat there again.
This is your basic counter service menu. The good thing is that it is usually not crowded so you have room. I ate here on my last visit and it was fine for a burger and fries.
Table dining at Hollywood studios does not have a ton of options. The atmosphere is why you go here and that depends on who your waitress is. We have been there two times and had two very different experences. The drinks are very good but the food is not my personal favoritae. I would eat at Mama Melrose if given the choice or even take the boat to the boardwalk and eat there. It is fun if you have older family or friends with you or if you have never been there it is worth a visit.
The food is not bad but not the best but if you have kids then the interaction with the Characters is well worth it. We were there on one of our childrens birthday and they gave him a ton of cool things. We have eaten there on 3 separate times over the past 10 years it is consistantly good.
This show is probably one of the best shows that WDW has to offer. It is a show you CAN NOT miss on your trip to WDW. The music is the same popular music loved by all lion king fans combined with live performers, floats, and tumbling monkey's it is a show that you will remember forever!
My family and I stayed at the Dolphin Resort from December 16th -22nd, leaving the 22nd. We had a few room issues. The first day, I had forgotten my laptop in the car. I used the tv remote, turned on the internet, but when I tried to use the keyboard, nothing would happen. I couldn't get the keyboard to work, so I took off the back to see if it had batteries. They were completely corroded. Well, you couldn't go back to regular TV without turning off the internet from the keyboard. I called the front desk, explained the situation and said they would need a keyboard. She said, "Well, we're in the process of removing all of the keyboards." They have maids in everyday - shouldn't be a big process. The tech arrived, tried the keyboard, wouldn't work, took the back cover off. He said, "I'll be right back, I need a another keyboard". I explained to him I told them at the front desk it was completely corroded and that whoever came up would need another. He came back within about 10 minutes and fixed the problem. When the hotel started filling up on the weekend, you had to stand and hold the lever down on the toilet for 11-12 seconds (try actually doing that and see how long that really is). Our shower had a wayward spray that, no matter how tight you tried to get the curtain closed, would spray out onto the floor and the toilet. However, a couple of days later when we started having ants, I called to complain. They had to call me back. They said the only room they had was a king bed room, but there were 4 of us. They sent up Angel to check out the problem. He brought a bug spray - black and white can. He sprayed the area around the coffee pot and under, near the bathroom, and the beds and desk. That was right before we went to bed. After that my throat became very scratchy, I developed a cough, and was a bit hoarse. My daughter developed a cough as well. It didn't seem to affect the other two. The morning of our departure, I went to the desk to tell them the ants had come back the day before, but since my daughter and I had developed symptoms after them spraying the room, we didn't call to have them spray again. I wanted to make them aware, that they would probably want to spray since there were ants again, before someone else checked in to that room. I asked if there was something they could do with our bill because of this. The woman at the desk (I didn't get her name), said wait a moment. After waiting, she came back and said I would have to talk to security, which I thought was odd. I waited in the lobby for approximately 10 minutes before someone Denis from security arrived. I explained the situation, he asked for identification, saying that way he knew who he was actually talking to. I gave him my driver's license and business card. He proceeded to copy down my driver's license information. He kept saying he was just taking the report, and would be turning it over to someone else to handle. He said they would definitely be giving me a call. It's Jan 6th, and I haven't heard a peep.
When you walk through those gates and gaze down Main Street, its like you're home. Everything about the Magic Kingdom is magical, and with the upcoming Fantasyland Expansion that magic only continues. The mountain attractions are always thrilling, and each land is an immersive, consuming environment. The background music completes it all, and dramatic views of Cinderella Castle are the icing on the cake.
We have been visiting Disney for 25 years and decided on our usual visit at Christmas time (December 18th to 21st) to celebrate our 31st Wedding Anniversary. Our reservations were made early in July for this visit. We always call and request a Kingsize bed at the time of the reservation and check right up until arrival time and as usual we were told not a problem by Disney. Upon arrival to our 1st time stay at the Contemporary Resort, you guessed it we were told we had (2) beds and not a Kingsize as requested. We were basically told too bad by the cast member at the front desk. This is the last Deluxe Resort on our list to stay while visiting Disney and experienced several other items that we have not encountered on prior visits. 1. Very unfriendly cast members especially for the amount of money charged. 2. Zero storage for your clothes and bathroom articles. 3. One of our sinks were also broken. 4. Can be noisy due to open concourse and monorial traffic. 5. The only reason to stay at the resort is that you can walk to Magic Kingdom versus riding the bus which are always crowded due to sharing with other resorts. This is my first time for giving a bad review for Disney but our trip this time did not go as well as previous visits. We do not recommend the Contemporary Resort as it is to commercial and not Disney like.
This is one of the most recognized building in the WORLD. People everywhere know what it is and for good reason, it is the icon of wdw such a great piece of architecture. A piece that will never need to be redone
I say this not because people seem to think that dinorama is cheezy and many skip areas like the bone yard and such. But this is where many of the best animal kingdom rides are located. Dinosaur is in my top 5 rides at Disney world. and then primevil whirl is a great ride that usually has a short line attached to it. Triceratops spin is just another dumbo/aladdin but its fun for the little ones. As is the boneyard for digging for dino bones, plus if anyone needs a break or something its a good place to let kids play around in while you stop to plan or take a breath. Enjoy
If you are visiting MGM studios (or hollywood studios for those who have shifted to the new name) then i would advise you to eat at this restaurant. Lunch or dinner, it doesn't matter. The food is great whatever you order will be enjoyable, but the theming and all around atmosphere puts a + on the whole experience. All the cast members are involved in your meal, not just your server. It's great fun, great food, great theming, and a great location. What more could you ask for. Only negative, sometimes a long wait, make reservations.
I thought the theme for this resort was great. However i wouldn't recommend staying here if relying on disney tranportation to get you where you need to go. We waited almost an hour for the Magic Kingdom Bus one morning and were late for rope drop and we were told there would be early bus's for people that had early morning breakfast reservations. We had reservation at 7:40 and went to wait for a bus at 6:30 but nothing came until 7:30 so we were really late for our reservations. Plus when leaving a park they make a stop at ASMusic and Sports first so your the last to get off. Probably won't stay at this resort again.
I love the layout of the food court. You order what you want and choose your drinks and desserts yourself. All the food i tried was very yummy and never had any problems finding somewhere to sit.
Despite the revies we didn't find the food here to bad. It was extrememly busy but we managed to snag a table in one of the rooms that didn't have many tables in it so it was alot quiter back there. The food tasted good and my son liked getting his meal in a pail with a shovel that he was able to take with him when we were done.
Even though we have seen bad reviews for this place we decided to eat here anyways because my son is a big toy story fan. The pizza was actually not too bad and we got a seat outdoors where it was quieter and ahad a nice relaxing meal.
We spent the morning doing fantasyland so we decided to eat here. Even though the place looked busy we were waited on quickly and had no trouble finding a seat. The food was your normal fast food but still yummy. A great place to stop and eat when wanting to take a break from the rides.
I have stayed at this resort 3 out of my last four trips (including my honeymoon and their honeymoon suite....truly recommended) and am going back in February. The theme is wonderfully done (lobby anyone) and the rooms are always clean and well serviced. The main pool with the small bubbling geyser starting in the lobby and cascading out into the waterfalls pouring into the pool is also a nice touch. Definitely worth it.
The pizza was good but nothing special. From the reviews i thought it was going to be great. The dessert however was better than the pizza. Will probably not go back here again.
This was our favorite place at Disney. There was a large selection of breakfast food available which was all delicious. The characters were also great! Will definitely go here again.
We had an excellent dinner here. I thought the food was yummy and it was great to see Pooh and friends. They took their time with my son and didn't rush and even though the restaurant seemed busy we got to see all the characters twice.
Despite what people say about the food, i thought it was great. We had onion rings and milkshakes and it was delicious. The atmosphere was excellent too and the staff was really friendly. Will definitely eat here again.
Though the interior of the restaurant was beautiful and we enjoyed meeting the princess's i found that there wasn't really a variety of food. Your basically paying just for the entertainment because the food is nothing special.
We had breakfast here before the park opened so it wasn't too busy and we got seated right away. There was a good selection of breakfast foods and the entertainment was great. My husband enjoyed this resaurant the most.
I can't really rate th efood beacuase i wasn't feeling well and couldn't eat but the atmosphere was wonderful. We had dinner here and got to see the fab five. We were also celebrating my sons 3rd birthday and Minnie brought him out a cupcake with a candle in it and he was so happy. Had a great time here.
