With all the talk of improving Pleasure Island, Marketplace etc. they put in this fast food meca? What a bummer, this belongs in the Six flags area. Small, tastless portions that don't measure up to a kid's meal. And to top it off they have this Baby Cakes niche in the corner trying to pull off some kind of expensive designer cupcake spot. What a joke! With the great cupcakes we enjoyed at several Disney locations, Starring Rolls for example, this is a disgrace! Disney needs to pull the contract on this. Bring back Mickey D's if you want fast food!
I ordered a tuna salad. It was freshly prepared, but very little tuna went into it. It was fairly filling but not really worth $8. Other items on the menu also seemed quite expensive. A cup cake costs $3.75. I'm not really sure what this place is trying to be. It has fried chicken, salads, drinks and also a cupcake stand. In all cases you have to join seperate lines to get these. A large family would struggle with this. There are also seperate iced sections offering sides such as coleslaw ($2.50) and fruit ($5). These seemed to be poorly stocked and coleslaw was not available during our visit. Its not the worst place at DTD for eating but it still has a little way to go to obtain value for money.
The food here tasted good, but was crippled by the portion size being far to small. I had the $7 combo meal, consisting of chicken and rice. The quarter chicken was tiny, and the rice amounted to about half a cup. There are far better options at DTD. So unless you are looking for a very small serving, or plan on perhaps buying two dinners per person, go elsewhere. I won't be returning.
I felt that the food at Pollo Campero was decent. I can't really fault the food too much other than the fact that the rice was luke warm at best. The problem I have with it is the portion size to cost ratio. I realize that value for money and Disney food don't normally go hand in hand but pollo Campero just takes the cake. 1/4 skinny chicken and a cup of rice for over $8 plus drinks. While I love food and can, if motivated, eat quite a bit of it I don't normally eat a lot at each sitting but I left Pollo Campero hungry. In my opinion you get better food for a better value at Earl of Sandwich or Wolfgang Puck Express. I won't be going back to Pollo Campero unless they increase their portion size or decrease their prices.
