We had adr for Christmas Eve with the candlelight prosessional. I truely have to say it was one of the best meals that I have ever had. I had the cheddar cheese soup with the mushroom filet migon and DW had the shrimp cocktail with the filet migon. The steaks were to die for, very moist and tasty. After reading all the comments I have to agree it is one of the best.
I have the feeling we may be in the minority here, but we really didn't care for our dining experience at Chefs du France very much. Service was fine, but the food was a huge disappointment. Ironically, the best thing we ordered from the menu that night was the flatbread as one of our appetizers - you know...pizza...like they do in Italy! HAHA! The escargot was tasty too, if you like them. My first thought was that the dining room was very authentic and nicely decorated. Service was prompt, yet not attentive once the meals were served. The menu was much smaller than I had imagined it might be in a place like this, and both entrees disappointed. The grilled tenderloin was - and I am NOT kidding - a piece of well done meat about 1 inch wide and 3 inches long, and about 1 inch thick. The very SMALLEST piece of steak I've ever seen served anywhere! At $32, I can't recommend that to anyone! The scallops and shrimp selection came out room temperature and looked too small, with only 2 of each item on top of what looked and tasted to be creamed spinach. Not what we called "value" for our dining dollars. Desserts, once our waiter finally returned with them, were OK, but not enough to make up for the underwhelming dinner. We shared the apple crepes with vanilla ice cream and the chocolate tart. Loyts of folks sing the praisies of this place, but out last visit here the first week of December will, ironically, be our "last visit" here! GOOD LUCK!
I'm always amazed when reading reviews, that someone could choose to dine at a German Restaurant, and then be surprised when they were served German Food! HAHA! We are never more thrilled to be offered German Food than when we eat at The Biergarten - EVERY time we visit WDW! - for work or pleasure! The dining concept recreates a German Beer Garden during Octoberfest, complete with beautiful scenery and an authentic (and VERY talented!) "OOM-PAH" Band! There is not a bad selection on the buffet. There is plenty of schnitzle, sausages, spetzle, red cabbage, saurkraut, and pretzel bread to fufill your German Food desires! There is also delicious chicken, meatballs, and pork roast to remind you that you are really not in Germany! HAHA! The buffet is divided into two sections, both serving the exact same selectons, but (HERE'S A TIP!) people seem to not believe it and always start at the far right side for some reason! Check both sides and go for the empty one! Both are well-maintained, watched over by the chefs, and kept full and hot! For dessert, our favorite part is the Apple Strudel with Vanilla Sauce, and Black Forest Cake with Cherries. YUM! We like the strudel so much we asked the chef for the recipe and make it at home quite often! It's a great meal and a nice opportunity to sit with and meet some new friends while enjoying the floor show and raising your glasses high to toast your table mates! ENJOY!
In all our years of visiting the WDW parks, we had always written off H&V in favor of places like Sci-Fi Drive In and 50's Diner. We reasoned it was "just another Disney Buffet". WE WERE WRONG! HAHA! Though simply themed as a 50's-era Cafeteria, it became obvious the REAL thought was put in to the food selections, and we werw thankful for that! The buffet line was one delicious surprise after another, and many items we had never seen at any other Disney Dining venue. To start, there was a nice selection of salads and breads. Roast pork and Pot Roast with numerous grilled vegetable selections made great entrees! We also loved the creamed corn spoon bread, as other reviewers had mentioned. It was different and delicious! We also could not resist the extra creamy macaroni and cheese and chicken selections on the kids section of the line. A nice change of pace for desserts were the apple and peach cobblers with self serve ice cream, as well as quite a few "sugarless" options. Our server was attentive and helpful, and always had a smile. Glad we tried Hollywood & Vine, as we honestly enjoyed it more than the other two places we used to dine while at MGM! ENJOY!
WOW! I was VERY pleasantly surprised by our meals at Yak & Yeti when we were there! They were honestly the BEST meals we ate all week - and we had the Dining Plan and ate EVERYWHERE! When we checked in at POP Century, the CM told us Y&Y had just started taking reservations that morning and asked us if we wanted to try it. We dropped Spoodles and added Y&Y. Boy were we ever glad we did!!! As it was new, we chatted with other diners and the service staff quite a bit to get a feel for how things wree going, and all was positive! Size and quality of the portions were great and we left there feeling it was our favorite meal of the week! So many different offerings! We want to go back and try them all! I can personally recommend everything we tried, which was: Appetizers: Lettuce Cups - minced chicken breast, chopped vegetables, maple tamarind sauce, crisp lettuce cups $10.99 Dim Sum Basket - Pork pot stickers, shrimp siu mai, cha su bao, and pork sie mai steamed on a banana leaf, soy lime dipping sauce $12.99 Main Courses: Shaoxing Steak and Shrimp - skirt steak, tempura-battered shrimp, jasmine rice, stir-fried vegetables, chili plum dipping sauce $22.99 Crispy Honey Chicken - tempura chicken, broccoli, carrots, honey sauce $15.99 Desserts: Fried Wontons - Skewers of fresh pineapple and cream cheese wontons, vanilla ice cream, honey vanilla drizzle $7.99 Mango Pie - shortbread cookie crust, fresh whipped cream, raspberry sauce $6.99 ALL of it was truly delicious! Truth be told, we said next time we would go back and get the Lettuce Cups for an entree so we could eat more Fried Wontons and Mango Pie desserts!! They were AWESOME! I obviously say give it a try! It's something different, and we found it a very welcome change that will be one of our regular stops on future trips! We're glad we got to try it while it was new and unknown by most visitors, becasue once word gets out about how good the food is, it's going to be tough to get into this new venue! ENJOY!!!
LOVE LOVE LOVE this place. They have made a couple menu changes, no more shrimp cocktail...bummer. The Caesar salad is the best I have every had. I have tried every cut of steak they offer and cannot name my favorite. You must eat here.
We eat here almost every day for lunch, dinner, or both. Be bold and try the different drinks on the menu. I usually have the short ribs: oh so yummy. My husband loves the macaroni. We usually have a 3 courses and finish with coffee and share a dessert. Try everything it is great. Our only complaint is the seating. The table for 2 are very well and placed very close together. Learn to love your neighbors.
Several things on the menu has changed. The food was so much better 5 years ago. If you are looking for great italian go to Imulinos at the Swan.
It is the best place to have seafood on property. The service is great....you cannot ask for more. Well maybe lower prices =0)
The food is disappointing but the beer is good.
The food is ok. The service sucks. Its like wdw sticks all the waiter/waitress rejects in this restaurant. They act like they have never taken an order before. When I order my crab cake(which is alright) they could not substitute the cole slaw for potato chips! WTF!! Like it was rocket science to swap the sides out. When my girl went to order the french dip sandwich guess what? they couldnt add cheese to the sandwich. I love disney food and have never disliked a restaurant on the property except this one. If you are considering this place to eat at Downtown D, dont. Just walk a little more and go to Mcdonalds. Im sure they have better food and service. plus I think they are capable to add cheese to there burgers =P
Mom mom loves the Brown Durby. The first time we went we did the Fantasmic Dinner Package. I wasn't a fan of the package or the restraunt. I felt that it was over priced for what it was and I wasn't wowed by the stake. Mom mom insisted we go back on our next trip though and the compromise was that we went at lunch. The food is the same, but the price is better. Also I got the Cob salade and it was wonderful! Also they had a good wine list. So if you must go, do lunch and have a salade and wine.
This is by far the best counter service restaurant in all of Disney World! You can watch a chef prepare the chicken for the Chicken Caesar Salad. Pick up some salmon (yes, last time I went they had SALMON!). Asian-inspired food as well (Asian noodles and chicken are available I believe). Fresh fruit (apples, grapes, bananas, strawberries, etc; my daughter's favorite choice) or a cheese dish (cubes of cheddar and swiss) in containers are in the coolers between counters. Crisp salads are there too. Sandwiches made that morning and afternoon are available (cold cuts, tuna, cheese). Of course, the kids can pick chicken strips or mac and cheese as well but with so much else to choose from they might surprise you. There is also a bakery with some delicious pastries and ice cream. Almost all of the selections fall in the healthy category. I wish each of the parks and resorts had a Sunshine Seasons. We make it a point to eat our meals (and sometimes snacks) here when we are at Epcot. In fact, our day's plans are built around it! Be aware that it does get crazy at lunchtime. We try to eat our meals at off times to avoid this. And sometimes navigating through is a challenge when the Lion King movie lets out. Add in the people who are waiting for Soarin' and Living with the Land and you can see why it gets crowded. The dining area itself could use a bit of updating but all in all it's not too bad. We usually have no problem finding a spot near the Lion King lower exit and the Nestle Toll House kids baking area. A bit darker than the main area but often quieter. Also, this is the only counter service restaurant where kids' high chairs are readily available. And our back corner is a decent spot to nurse a baby if you are looking for a small bit of privacy.
We had a reservation for lunch at 11:40am on Wed., Dec. 5, 2007. We checked in early at 11:30 so that we would have plenty of time to get on line for the 1:00 show of Nemo. We were given a pager, and were not seated until 11:55. At that point, a friendly but painfully slow hostess sauntered us to our table. Once there, we were greeted quickly by a friendly server. We explained the situation, and she wasted no time. She took our drink orders, and by the time we'd returned with our first serving, our drinks and bill were waiting for us. We did not use the dining plan, but when my husband ordered the yummy exotic fruit punch, we noticed that we were not charged for it. (I had tap water.) We felt it was well worth the $20/person bill, especially had we not been rushed. We still left full and happy. If you've been to Boma and enjoyed it, please consider Tusker House. There were many similar dishes, and the spirit and variety was the same, as well as the superb quality. The cuisine was pan-Asian. There were several curry dishes, lots of cold and hot couscous dishes, and plenty of veggies and a variety of meats, including chicken, beef, shellfish and salmon. Also appearing was the familiar "short" buffet table, with mac & cheese, chicken legs, and other favorites. This is a terrific option for a vegetarian or ethnic food lover, and long overdue at Animal Kingdom! We will absolutely return. By the way, yes, we did make it to the show, and our seats weren't bad, either.
We ate breakfast here on our last morning, Dec. 6, '07. My DH requested a hot, sit-down breakfast for our last day. We both ordered the breakfast all-you-can-eat skillet, which featured scrambled eggs, potatoes, bacon, sausage, waffles, biscuits and country gravy. All was ice cold. The waffles were hard and inedible. I asked for more gravy, and to please make sure it was hot, and the server used the opportunity to get into character. And then proceeded to serve me more cold gravy in a very hot bowl. We did not eat much. Possibly the food had been better if ordered from the a la carte menu.
I'd never eaten at the table service restaurants at Japan before the rehab. We had dinner with reservations for 7:15 pm on Monday, Dec. 3, '07. We arrived on time, and were given a pager. We were seated around 7:45 pm. The area set aside for waiting guests offered little seating, and was used for both Tokyo Dining and Teppan Edo. There were also no walls separating the dining area of Tokyo Dining and the waiting area. It made for an extremely noisy dining environment. The decor was lovely, but austere. It would have made for an appropriate, Zen-like atmosphere, had the room been quieter. As it was, it seemed out of place. There were two menus, one for strictly sushi, and one with the more familiar appetizers, entrees and desserts. We used the Disney Dining Plan. We were allowed to select any appetizer, any entree from the regular menu, and a choice of three of the platters from the sushi menu, as well as any dessert or non-alcoholic beverage. My husband selected the tempura appetizer, and a tempura and sushi combo dinner. I selected the seaweed salad, and a tempura and sashimi combo dinner. All the tempura was plentiful and not at all greasy. Perfect. Each serving featured a variety of vegetables, shrimp and scallops. My seaweed salad was surprising, but the server explained it to me when I ordered it. Instead of a helping of seasoned seaweed as I expected, I was served a plate of mixed greens topped with generous helpings of three types of typical seaweed salad, topped with typical ginger dressing. It was a large serving, and delicious. My husband was happy with his sushi. I was happy with my sashimi, but there was not much of it. I was given two slices of salmon, three of tuna, and two of yellowtail, all small pieces, but all very fresh and flavorful. Each type of fish was served over a small bed of daikon radish shaving. When I order sushi at a new place, I don't order much of it, just to test it out. The next time I come here, I'll order the deluxe sashimi dinner. The fish is fresh and delicious, especially the salmon, which was smooth and buttery. My husband ordered iced green tea and I ordered hot. Both were refilled after asking and some time had passed. I was served a single cup at first, and then given a pot upon asking for more. For dessert I ordered the green tea pudding, which I found to be exactly like the pumpkin creme brulee I had for lunch at Sunshine Season that day, except with a almost indiscernable tea flavor instead of pumpkin. Tasty, but I was tired of it. Neither of us can remember what my husband had. Not bad, but not memorable. Skip dessert here. Service was just a little slow, but it was busy. Our server was endlessly respectful, quiet (too quiet to hear in this atmosphere) and friendly. All in all, I enjoyed the meal very much. When I come back, I'll try to find a less busy time, and order a full entree of sushi/sashimi.
We had dinner here for the second time on December 4, 2007. The first time was several years ago, and was beyond outstanding. This time, my filet was flavorless and needed sawing (cooked medium rare), my favorite portobello soup was served cold (still good), and the service was inattentive at best. Our server was friendly enough, but after serving us a complementary toast of champagne for our anniversary, she apparently thought that was all that was necessary to provide us with a good dining experience. Bread and steak knives were forgotten. (On our last visit, the knives were not necessary.) We let her know that we wanted to have plenty of time for the Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party, but she seemed to have forgotten that too. When she finally came to see us after the entree was served (and long after we had done with it), we let her know that we wished to skip dessert to have more time at the party. She disappeared for another 10 minutes, seemingly to retrieve our bill, then came back with a "complementary" berry dessert for us to share. We weren't impressed, since we were using the dining plan, and were entitled to desserts anyway. Still no bill, another 10 minutes later. Last trip, we added an additional $10 to the included gratuity of the dining plan, our service was so stellar. This time, she got only what she expected.
Since there is no Yak & Yeti (counter service) section I will post my review here. The menu is kidn of limited but has the basics. I had the honey chicken and it was just ok. It came in a typical chinese food takeout box over a bed of white rice and some broccoli. Some of the chicken tasted a little funny but overall the taste was alright. The rice was standard and the veggies were a little overcooked. The chicken basically seems to be just like fried chicken nuggets with honey sauce on them. I know that is basically what it is suppossed to be but if you actually order this you will see what I am talking about.
...for the price I wanted to see some table clothes. I am in the restaurant business and when there are no table clothes the prices shouldnt be that high. However my meal as well as my girlfriends meal were both excellent. We had the onion soup and lobster bisque to start. This was followed by the braised lamb and the filet. We chose the creme brulee for dessert which was very good. I enjoyed some espresso while my gf had some coffee which was also tasty. For drinks the champagne was pretty good and the French beer which was recommended by our waiter was also very good. I spend over $120 with tip for 2 people. I dont mind paying for food if it was great and in this case it was. I enjoyed my time here but they need to get some table clothes and liquor if they expect to charge that much. Of course being at Disney it doesnt matter since it will always be busy.
My girlfriend and I decided to try Boma for the breakfast buffet. The price is around $17 a person and it is well worth it. There is a wide variety of the usual breakfast items with 2 African items as well. I do not recall what the two African items were named so I am no help there. However the regular breakfast was excellent. They have a variety of pasteries (cheese danish, cinnamon bun, etc...), breads, bagels, and cereals to choose from. They also make omlets for you, have scrambled eggs, sausage, bacon, potatoes, french toast and pancakes. The carving station consists of corned beef and ham with a very tasty Boma mustard sauce on the side. I also enjoyed what my waiter called jungle juice which was a mix of a few different fresh juices. I am probably missing some items but all in all it was well worth it.
When we went to this resturant it was between lunch and dinner. My mother had a New York Oscar, while I stuck with the traditional Hickory Bacon Burger. The burger was delicious, just the right seasonings and the sauce was terrific, and the chips served with it were good as well. The Oscar was delicious, I had a bite and I loved it. Our drinks were refilled promptly and food delivered within a reasonable time.
My wife and I ate here once. My wife being Chinese and her reading english skills are nominal. They offered no menu in chinese. The waiter had to show her pictures of each dish for her to choose. The food was no better than you can get at any chinese restaurant, but carried the price tag of Disney. I realize that they can't serve authentic chinese food, because people could not eat it, let alone would be able to understand the menu, even in english.
If you have kids or not. You must eat here. The buffet is well stocked with great food. They make a bread pudding that is quite good. The down side is that it is not a place you can walk into. You must call weeks ahead.
My family loves it. Our last trip to WDW we ate there 3 times. The last time I asked my 5 YO where he wanted to eat and he quickly said "Germany". I love German food & Bier. My family loves it. The staff is always friendly and it is self serve.
We didn't make reservations for this place due to the reviews we had read on other sites, but when getting to MGM my family was hungry so we decided to make an attempt at getting in anyways. We were seated right away, dead center to the screen. The food itself was good, not great, but good. It's that middle ground between your great "greasy fastfood burger" and your standard sitdown joint burger. My main suggestion on the burgers would be to drop the price a bit and actually do a true old drive-in style burger. Don't try and get fancy, just do a good ol' dirty burger. The onion rings are a great beer batter ring though, so that was a great little treat. The entertainment is a ton of fun! Though I was amazed to see a Tex Avery toon on the screen (The Cat Who Hated People) considering how Tex felt about Disney, and vice-versa. But it's one of my fave Tex toons, so I was happy!!! I just wish there were more trailers, as if you get stick there a little long you will start to see the same trailers all over again. Add another 10 trailers and this won't happen. All in all, a cool place I would go to again in a second.
This is by far our favorite restaurant!! Everyone should Eat here, the cheese soup is amazing!!! And everything else is perfect and one of the best atmospheres in the park!!
This past August, our family ate at the ABC Comissary for dinner. We stopped there after a long, hot day in the parks and the AC provided a welcome relief from the heat. The kids had burgers which they found to be large enough to satisfy their appetite and warm. They smothered their burgers in toppings from the large topping bar and were satisfied. The adults ordered a variety of entrees. I had the Chicken Curry over rice and my wife had a Tabbouleah Wrap. I enjoyed the chicken , it was tender and the rice was just sticky enough to not fall off the fork. It was spiced a little on the mild side, but was tasty just the same. My wife enjoyed her meal, also. Despite the negative reviews, our experience was positive.
best time of my life food was awesome. i made reservations and i made sure we got seated near the glass window. everything was perfect get their very early and dont be afraid to ask. Prepare to dine "under the sea" when selecting the Coral Reef Restaurant . There's an aquarium wall with 8 foot high windows with incredible views of the Living Seas. Seating is tiered which assures everyone is able to see this aquatic display. Lighting is subdued. The interior is decorated in soothing shades of blue and green which enhance the underwater effect. In addition to freshly prepared seafood, meat, chicken and vegetarian selections are offered. our lunches consisted of this drinks me a sprite and my mom got a diet coke. Soups Creamy Lobster Soup - Made with Chervil and Brandy. - $6.99 Entree Grilled New York Strip Steak - Served with Potatoes Au Gratin and Beef Demi-glace. - $21.99
We always eat here every year when we are in animal kingdom. I love it, and love the food. See ya next year.
Was'nt to crazy for it this year. Their chicken ceaser salad used to be soooo good and this year it was lousy
I liked the pizza here. Nice little lunch and the kids loved it. I enjoyed it! I would def. go back!
This place was a lot of fun. The food was great and there was a lot 2 choose from. I would def. go back in a heart beat. We met every character and took pictures. The swinging of the napkins was fun. Loved it...It is a must
This place was one of my favorites. The food was GREAT! I had the penne with shrimp and it was awsome. The atmosphere was very nice. We went Nov.13, 2007 at 5:45pm ressy and got right in on time. I loved this place. The server was very nice. We had a good veiw of the fish tank. I would def. go back here....I loved it
This place was nice. The food was the same as anywhere else such as food courts and counter services but it was good. If we did'nt have the dining plan, i probably wouldn't go back. The kiddie parade was cute and the kids loved it. The servers were very nice. It was nice!
Just got back Nov.11-17. This dinner was awsome and very filling. Its homestyle and all the characters came to our table for pictures. The food was great, the atmosphere was fun and made u feel at home. I would def. go back again. I loved every bit of it!
I wasn't crazy for this place this year. Last year was better food wise. This year i really didn't like what i had ordered. The taste was not that good. The menu just sucks. Theres like 5 things to choose from on their dinner menu. I think i'm done with this place. But i gotta say, i love the themeing. It is cool.
This was by far my favorite place to eat during my vacation. We ate here Nov.14th,2007. We had ressy's for 6:15 and got right in. The food was absolutely awsome. We had the dining plan so there was soooo much food to eat. I ordered the penne with shrimp. It was outstanding and choc. cake with icecream for desert. We had a great time in there. I would def. go back next year.
Artist Point is a great restaurant with excellent service. I had the buffalo steak this time and was very happy with the customer service. The staff is very attentive and informative. The restaurant is more formal than most of the restaurants at WDW, and so it is a nice change of pace. The interior of the restaurant is nice, but since it has several hard surfaces, it can be loud. With that said, if you bring your children, please make sure they are quiet, because everyone in the restaurant will hear them, and not just a little bit. The meal choices here are the heart of Northwest cuisine with excellent salmon, buffalo, venison, duck and other fine meat choices with excellent vegetable compliments and great wine pairings. This is a great location to get away from the typical fair at WDW and enjoy yourself. In my opinion, it is the only dining location at the Wilderness Lodge worth bothering with; but making a trip from another resort just to visit Artist Point is a excellent decision. Pricing is consistant with fine dining as is the attire and general vibe of the restaurant. I would have like to see an even broader selections on the menu, but I suppose it comes down to how many items they can prepare properly in an evening. If you haven't tried it yet, give Artist Point a try.
Boma features a buffet presentation, so you do all of the work. On the down side, after a hard day at the parks; it's nice to be served dinner, rather than having to stand in line to get your meal. As with most brunch-style eateries, you do have a server who brings your drinks, clears your plates and gives you your bill, but the rest is all you. On the up side, you generally control how and what you eat, so you get to make all the selections. The variety of food is impressive and is a nice change from the typical burgers, steaks, chicken strips at most of the food locations throughout the park. You'll be treated to a variety of vegetables, meats, soups, desserts. Some of these will be completely foreign to you and there in lies the positive to Boma; it forces you to try new things, and see what interests you. If you are in for adventure or are just plain bored with other menus in the park, give Boma a try. One comment about price, although there's a nice variety, I believe the restaurant is far too expensive for what you get. For 2 adults and 2 children it was $140, and IMO, there was nothing that great at the buffet to substaniate the pricing. Obviously, it's all you can eat, but if you're not planning on 5 or 6 trips per person, you'll likely find Boma to not be the best value. The fanciest meat items that I saw were prime rib (they carve it for you and give you a medium to small piece) and small nut-encrusted salmon. They also had ribs and chicken, but these are not typically expensive. The prime rib was good and you can go back as much as you like, but it felt like filler for more picky eaters that were shying away from the standard Africa fair. Eating it, felt like I was cheating the experience. Note, if you are using the DDP, that Boma counts for 1 point, so for those people, it is a good value; if you're paying out-right, however, you may want to think more about it.
We ate lunch there yesterday (Nov.21). We got there at 11 a.m. and asked for a reservation for noon. I also asked to sit upstairs on the portico - awesome view. There is a lot of "ambiance" upstairs - downstairs too. Our waiter was very attentive. He transferred from the other Landry restaurant and he hopes to open the T-Rex restaurant at Downtown Disney next year. He did a good job. I had I had a Yak Attack drink - frozen. It is their signature drink - very good ($7.50). My husband had a glass of Beringer white wine. They have kids drinks in a special cups but the cups haven't come in yet so our grandson got the regular plastic Disney cup. My husband ordered the shrimp tempura - Wow! Beautiful presentation and it was good. My grandson ate all of it. My poor husband left hungry. I ordered the chicken breast - very moist, tender. I enjoyed it. My grandson had the kid's cheeseburger meal. He requested french fries - they were skinny and very tasty. They did not take our Disney Dining Card but I could use my cast ID to get 20% off. Yes, we will go back next week when my brother is here. Lot of people don't know about it so we had no trouble getting in. By the time we left it was packed but everywhere else to eat was worse. The line for Tusker House was unreal. We have reservations for that next week also. One of the Landry people told me they will start taking reservations by phone the 14th of Dec. Now you have to walk up to their podium at 11 to make same day reservations. Enjoy - another nice place to eat in the Disney Parks.
I ate at the counter service side of Yak and Yeti on 11/15. The meu is limited: Sweet and Sour Pork, Shrimp Lo Mein, a beef dish and a chicken dish. There are several sides you can add. I ordered a side of chicken fried rice and the pork egg rolls. They were adequate. The only sauces they had were the standard small packages you find at any other oriental restaurant. A draw back was the limited seating. I was there on a slow week and people were waiting for tables. I don't know where people will sit during the upcoming peak season.
Ate at Yak and Yeti on opening day 11/14. Food was good and pricing was a bit high for the type of dishes available (16.00 for beef with broccoli), but in line with other Disney table service meals. We went in at about 12:10pm and they told us to come back at 12:40. When we returned at about 12:35 and our table was ready. I would recommend thay everyone give it a try.
The title says it all: I can get better gelato at my local mini-mart. It's cheap, melty, and overtly fake. Bleh.
I had the Mandarin Orange Chicken Salad for lunch and it was delicious! it had a good texture and amazing flavor. The decor was also very impressive. Be sure to ask to sit on the second floor in the veranda room. Its the one with the big glass windows that overlook Asia. I sat at table 109 and the table to request with the "best" view is 106.
The thing Big River has going for it is it's location. Sadly, that's about all. DH likes the beer there and we both like having a relaxing place to sit and watch the scenery on the Boardwalk so Big River gets our business for that purpose. The food is pretty awful. (we've eaten here 5+ times and all times were bad. Like I said before we go here for the location alone.) We've had ribs, tough and cold. Bleah. We've had some kind of pasta dish, it was swimming in sauce and the noodles disintegrated under our fork. We've had tilapia which tasted ok but got to our table cold. The potatoes served with the meals have NEVER been warm yet. It's become a joke with us, to see if we can outwit the potato fairy and actually GET some hot ones. LOL We've had the chips and salsa, which are always said to be "fresh" somehow. These are merely stale Doritos and salsa out of a jar, tossed onto a plate and served. We ate them because we were hungry but felt disappointment with every bite we took. LOL I hope others have better experiences here but ours have been consistently bad. Go for the location or the beer but I wouldn't hope for a great meal here. Our Rating of this restaurant: 3 for the food 9 for the beer 10 for the location
OK food, plenty of choices, but not always very tasty or well prepared. We've eaten here half a dozen times, maybe more but only because it's convenient to where we were at the moment. Given all the other wonderful choices at WDW we'd rate this a little better than half mast (6 maybe 7?) but that's mostly for the really cool atmosphere. (I'd have given it a 9 or 10 based on the original menu but the newer menu just isn't as original or good IMHO)
DH and I avoided this place for about 4 years, no clue WHY we did though. Finally, on our last trip we decided to give it a try. We went there early on in our 10 days and ended up eating here a total of 3 times. Yes, it was THAT good! We aimed for the ribs for the most part, but the rosemary cornbread and shrimp po-boy sandwich were to-die-for delicious as well. I highly recommend House of Blues! Don't forget to pick up a HOB souvenir while you're there.....we found some great two for one bargains, something the salesclerk told us they do quite often. Have fun!
Aside from the upgraded decor - which kids think rocks by the way - this place is a regular Mickey D's (pardon the pun). So as if your not sick of burgers and fries from the theme parks, stop in for a bite of novelty. Oh, did I mention the standard McDonalds prices don't apply here?
So we all know - at least, we should know - that Captain Cook's is pretty much a stylized mini-mart at the Polynesian with some healthy food choices for snacktime. But very few people know that it is the only other place in all of WDW besides Adventureland that a person can get Dole Whip! This soft serve pineapple ice cream is perfect for watching the "Wishes" fireworks on the Polynesian beach.
Located in France near Impressions de France, this is the best dessert shop in WDW. The mousse and eclairs are amazing as if everything else. The perfect place to get food before Illuminations. French pastries are great.
This place has great Scandinavian dessert items such as lefse, crumcaka and many others. It is one of the best places in EPCOT for a snack. Definately worth trying.
We ate here for the first time last month and it was a great night, and we are sure to be back. FOOD: we stuck with our likes and with the help of the server, picked wonderful items. Everything was good (scallops) to very good (perfect fried oysters), with a couple things being outstanding (deserts, crab-crusted halibut), too many to mention. WINE: we made an evening of it, and ordered several courses to be shared. Our server did not miss a beat, and selected some nice wines that paired very well with our food. SERVICE: We let the server know we were going to take our time, and she was great. We were not rushed at all, and she really made us feel special and appreciated. EXTRAS: view with boat parade and fireworks over the MK. Just wonderful.
What can I say about LeCellier that hasn't been said before? This is my favorite place to eat in EPOCT by far. Problem is, the Filet Mignon is so delicious that it will ruin it for you whenever you eat it elsewhere. It's *that* good. I also highly recommend the cheddar cheese soup and the maple crème brulee. Every meal I've had here has been consistently delicious. ADRs are a must because this is one restaurant you don't want to miss!
I read through the previous reviews and found several that echoed my sentiments about the Prime Time Cafe. When I first dined at PT in 1999, I had a very enjoyable experience, that was definitely one of the highlights of my trip. The wait staff were really into their roles and played it up. "Mom" would really come down on you hard for minor etiquette infractions, but that's what made it a blast. After all, I can find plenty of local restaurants with 50's decor at home. I like a little bit of a show and something different when I'm in the World. Then during a visit in 2003, I witnessed a manger explaining to an irate foreign customer that no offense was intended by his waiter, and that scolding was part of the restaurant's theme. I visited again in 2005 and brought some friends and was sadly disappointed because now PT seemed to be just another 50's themed restaurant. Our waiter made a few mentions about "dad" falling in front of the TV, etc. But gone were the days of "mom" barking orders and scolding the "kids" for not eating their veggies. I couldn't help but think that perhaps with the world-wide appeal of Disney World that there was more than one incident of cultural miscommunication, and as a result the wait staff must play it safe and avoid any type of criticism or teasing. I don't see myself visiting PT again anytime soon.
Casey's is the kind of place that's easy to miss if you aren't looking for it. But it's definitely worth seeking out for a quick bite to eat. Seating consists of a few small (2 person) tables and a small set of bleachers, so if you have a large party (more than 4 people), you may prefer to eat elsewhere. Kids will enjoy the old time cartoons shown on the big screen while you eat. Great dogs, and plenty of fixings available. A great place when you want to grab and go.
The Columbia Harbor House is by far my favorite place to eat while in the Magic Kingdom. I even prefer it over the table service restaurants. The food is cheap (relative to Disney World) and it's always easy to find a nice quiet place to relax for a little while before heading back out into the park. The Anchors Aweigh tuna sandwich is always delicious, as is the Lighthouse Hummus sandwich. My only complaint is that on my last trip (October 2006) they have done away with the bread bowls for the clam chowder, which was very disappointing. However, the chowder is as delicious as always.
Funny but in little more than a years time the experience has become a complete and total waste of time and money. Where once children were given a fairly neat little magic wand and a neat star pin that blinked, they are now given a plastic cr@p wand that a dollar store wouldn't even dare sell and a star that no longer lights up or even stick on to anything (its just a glob of plastic in a star shape.. total crap. Now for the even bigger scam... I purchased meals for both my 5 year old and 2 year old so that they could each get a picture (even though the 2 year old would have been free to simply eat).. imagine my surprise when they then explain sorry... we only give one picture to a table... Yeah that's right if you dine there with one parent and one child you get one picture if you dine there with two parents and two kids you get one picture. So... if anyone actually want to go through with this scam for the sake of their kids do yourself a favor make reservations for mom and one kid and then seperate ones for dad and the other kid otherwise your paying the price for two pictures and only getting one... And don't expect the food to be worth eating its beyond bad... you have the option of getting a Hot meal (nasty looking sausages that appear to be rejects from the continual hot dog cooker in the local movie theater, industrial powdered egg like stuff, and a basket of stale bread.... or the Cold meal of a huge bowl of strawberry yogurt topped with burnt bananas, strawberry slices and sugar to cover the burnt taste... Oh boy... what a choice... And all for the more money than a dinner at Wolfgang's
We first found this gem a few years ago when we were hungry, but didn't quite want the "usual" food. We were lucky enough to be seated right away and were struck at once by the beauty of the restaurant. While the food may sound exotic it is just everyday food given a twist by the spices they use; everyday spices, but used in an unexpected way. We love the Jasmina Salad, the chicken kabobs and the brewat rolls. Crepes Atlas is the best way to end the meal and you cannot skip the mint tea. The Sultan Sampler is a great deal and you get to try some of their best dishes all on one plate. Its a must for us on each trip.
I happened upon this restaurant in February of 2007. The atmosphere of the restaurant was phenomenal and it was not crowded at all. I was seated immediately and the service I received was very pleasant. I am somewhat of a picky eater when it comes to something new so I chose the chicken kabobs because they seemed to be something I would enjoy. The chicken was very tasty and I really enjoyed the sauce that they were in. It was different, but very enjoyable. I was fortunate enough to see the belly dancer show. The music was great to listen to while eating, and the belly dancer put on a great show. She even called up a few people from the restaurant to try and do the dance it was hysterical. Some of them really got into it. I would recommend trying this restaurant at least once. It is really a great experience.
This was a great place to find. The sea theme is done very well and the food is great. This place has a lot of seating, good speed and is a good overall restaurant.
I went to Restaurant Marrakesh as a spur-of-the-moment change on 9/3/2007. I was pleasantly surprised. The restaurant wasn't too packed and service was very quick. My waiter, Anas, was really great and since I've never had Morrocan food before, helped me to pick out some amazing choices. I started with the Harira Soup, which was a delicious soup, then had the Shish Kebab. I very impressed with that part of the meal. The flavor was beyond words, and the meat was incredibly tender. Even the rice that came with it was perfect. I didn't think that the meal could get any better after the Shish Kebab, but Anas suggested I try the Moroccan Symphony. These little pastries were melt in your mouth good. I normally don't like almonds, but I couldn't stop eating them! The decor of the restaurant was very nice. It was very open and easy to move through. I didn't get to see the entertainment however, since I went for an early dinner. All in all, I think that this was the best meal of my entire trip this year!
I was apprehensive about eating here in January 2007 because I am a picky eater and I don't like my food too spicy. However, my husband wanted to see the belly dancer and he thought it would be fun, so we went. We had a party of 8 with 4 kids. Well, needless to say, we loved it and I was worried for nothing. I got the shish kabobs because I thought that would be the most like food I was used to. They were great! I really liked their rice, too. I tried their iced mint tea and it was delicious. Very cool and refreshing. The entertainment was nice. The music and belly dancer very good. She tried pulling my shy kids up with her to dance, but they felt self concious. My husband and father in law enjoyed her very much. Overall, it was a good meal in a great setting. We would definitely come back!
This is up there with the sunshine season foodfair and the Crystal palace as thed best Disney has to offer. The food portions are large and delicious and the seating area is great. My favorite is the 1/2 slab of St. Louis Ribs and the corn is just delicious. 10/10
We love the 50's prime time cafe. We visit every trip. I love the 50's atmosphere. The wait staff is wonderful. It just brings you back to another time. The food is ok. We enjoy the food but it's not over the top great. I do make the smores at home. Overall its a great experience.
this is a great place for breakfast i would recomend it to everyone. If you like a big breakfast this is the place to go the selection is good and everyone in our party loved it here. I will be making this a come back destination. great food and a good deal as far as price goes.
had dinner reservations here ahad heard it was a must do but we were not impressed. The steak was nothing special it was good but nothing that stood out. Portions are small and i didnt care for the dessert grapefriut cake. this is way to overpriced for what you get i wont be putting this on my return list.
just returned from our trip had a lunch time reservation at the coral reef and found it to be a great place the food was very good service was excellent and the atmosphere was a plus. was on free dining so i cant really say about being over priced. i would still put this on my return restraunt list with or without the free dining package. I had the steak and it was done to perfection my dh had the fish and he loved it as well.I had heard bad reviews but decieded to give it a try anyway and am now glad i did. I give it a rating of8 out of 10.
I've eaten there twice and both times it was inedible. Chicken nuggets were cold and undercooked, burgers burnt to a crisp, fries cold and stale. Everything we've ever gotten there was unfit for human consumption. Avoid like the plague. (Because you may get it if you eat there!)
I dined solo on 9/23/07 for breakfast and had a wonderful time!! The Princesses were so friendly - even to this 28 year old girl!! The breakfast items were great - I can't get enough of the hashbrown casserole. I will definately be booking this location for next year!
Some of the best ice cream is served here. Located right in Main Street U.S.A. close to the castle.
Very fittingly it serves American food at the American Pavilion. Hot dogs, burgers and fries are American "cuisine," there is nothing wrong with serving them. The workers are dressed up in colonial attire and the flags add a nice touch. It is usually nicer to sit outside under the trees though.
Electric Umbrella has a far greater selection than most Disney fast food venues at the parks. The prices are the same but more options are available. There are two levels for eating and it always seems to be a quality dining place.
Food was good for a buffet. But you go there for the charactors and it was perfect Mickey Donald Goofy and minnie were all wonderful. My kids loved it.
We had a truly wonderful time here. All the princesses were lovely (Belle greeted us and we were then visited by Ariel, Sleeping BEauty, Cinderella, Jasmine and Snow White). The food was delicious and there was plenty of it. One thing I loved was the way we weren't neglected by the characters even though we were 3 adults. One of the best, if not the best, character experiences of my life!
The theming here is extraordinary, and the "tables" are all incredibly cool. The film is very interesting and entertaining. We had some of the best service here that we've had anywhere in WDW. The food is nothing to write home about, but it wasn't bad, either.
We tried the steak, chicken, and salmon. All were terrible. We didn't sit in a table next to the aquarium, which means our views were no better than in the Living Seas pavilion itself. Service was okay, and the theming was good. The prices, however, were OUTRAGEOUS.
The food is incredible and plentiful. There is a wide variety of African foods here, and they are all wonderful. The theming is great, and the service is outstanding. This is a restaurant we will visit on every subsequent trip to WDW.
The atmosphere is fun and the food is just "ok".... definitely over-rated.
Although you can never find a place to sit down, this high-cal. food is perfect for energizing you in the middle of the day when you're tired. Try the spicy cheese pretzel.
The rooms are decorated quite brightly with many hand-carved animals. All the animals in each room share a quality such as hanging upside down or being nocturnal or carrying their homes with them (turtles, of course, but also such creatures as kangaroos.) However, the pizza is typical floppiness with lame sauce and rockhard crust. Normal theme park fare. But I guess you could do a lot worse.
This place is angelic in a money-sucker place like Disney. $5.95 for all the absolutely delicious, warm, and tangy subs. I reccomend the Earl's Club or the Full Montagoo. Be sure to stop in before 6pm, though because it can get noisy and crowded pretty quickly. In theory, the atmosphere is supposed to be potent-coffeehouse chic, but is lost somewhere in the execution. Still, you'll love the food and the especially the price.
DO NOT EAT HERE IF YOU ARE STAYING AT ANOTHER RESORT!! The food is costly and good, but not as good as a cherry garcia and not even in the same realm as The Garbage Pail over at Typhoon Lagoon. The line was 2 hours long with no reservations accepted - this is the most popular casual dining at this gigantic resort and it seats only a 32 people at a time! Although people staying at the resort can wait in their rooms, off-siters will have to sit in plastic chairs by the off-limits pool for the perma-long wait. The dessert bar at your resort food court is about as good.
Slightly larger than the Downtown Disney one, Rainforest is amazing. The unique theming fits Disney perfectly even though it isn't Disney itself. The shop is great. THere are even a type of animontronics scattered about. The "thunderstorms" are awesome as well. If a bit expensive, the food is also up to par with the rest of the restaurant.
It's a little smaller than the Animal Kingdom one but other than that it is pretty much the same. The same being one of the greatest restaurants in all of Disney of course! It often the first place we eat during our WDW visit.
Looks pretty stunning but we'd about have to sell the house to eat here.
For anyone who craves something a bit more involved than a turkey leg or churro, Boma is the place to go. The buffet is unlike any other on property, with just enough fun comfort food for the kids (or that picky adult) to keep him or her satisfied. For the rest of us, the choices are vast, the quality superior to most of what you will usually find at WDW, and the wait staff and chefs are always willing to walk the intimidated through the buffet and discuss what the foods actually will taste like. Believe it or not, the highlights of the buffet are the SOUPS!! Butternut Squash, Pepperpot, Pumpkin, Carrot, I mean, any buffet that makes me look forward to the soups, you know it has to be good. Add the fresh salads (at least three to choose from) a hummus bar, freshly cut meat (with a side of the incredible Boma mustard or tamarind BBQ sauce.) and you can easily see why this is a must-visit every time we visit the resort. If adventure you crave in your eating, there is no place better. Period. Can't wait to go again!!
the food is great and it's famly friendly.
Toy Story comes to life. Its the best place to eat for kids.
This is a sports bar/restaurant styled like a basketball court with all the classic memorabilia and such. It is occassionally noisy, but Monday and Tuesday nights are quieter as this place usually attracts more locals than Disney guests. A relaxed dinner in the sometimes stuffy atmosphere of the Boardwalk is a great break inbetween Jellyrolls and that one awesome cookie place whose name escapes me. Nothing beats it for Boys' Night Out or when the big game is on and even though your vacationing, the dedicated fans - read: men - insist on watching. Try the buffalo wings.
i love liberty inn because the food is so cool! And the flags are also cool.
We ate here for the first time last year and it was wonderful. We were on the dining plan and it was definitley to much food. The prices are very reasonable considering everything you get and it can very easily be shared betweet 2/3 people. It is one of the best CS restaurants around just for the fact there are so many choices. We will definitely eat there again.
Tastes like those hostess snacks that mom and dad used to put in our lunches 'cause they were cheap. Though they aren't quite so sickeningly rich, they aren't particularly tasty. Spongy and moist, though.
The Dole Whip ice cream is foamy, light and refreshing. I also discovered a love of pineapple juice here. However, can you believe that they were out of pineapple slices at THE DOLE PLACE?
Even with the inventive atmosphere and interesting backstory about Dino-Institute grad. students, this is a McDonalds in everything but name. They don't even change the names of the meals. So really, there is no need for me to go further because you've been to McDonalds. So I suppose I am just worthlessly using up your time and rambling pathetically. Oh. Sorry.
This is the real deal. Although pretty pricy, it's worth it! The strawberry lemonade is to die for and the Pan-Asian noodles were one of the best things I've put in my mouth in my life ever! The scallops are also spectacularly fresh and well-cooked. However, the desserts are lackluster so grab a foamy, sweet Dole Whip over at Captain Hook and watch the Wishes fireworks on your night outside the parks. Pretend like you're staying at the Polynesian 'cause the beach is supposed to be exclusive.
Say good-bye to burgers and pizza. At Sunshine Seasons, you can get authentic Asian noodles, real French toast, and fresh sandwiches grown at the Land Pavilion and brought over early in the morning. This food will make you feel brand new. It's top quality for a great price! Eat here while you wait for your Soarin' Fastpass to become valid.
Inside this trying-to-be-a-mega-arcade is typical park pizza. (You know, the kind with the cheese that falls of when you bite it.) It also has salads with actual balsamic vinegar dressing as opposed to that thick French junk they have everywhere else. It's usually quiet and very much edible. Still, it's no Kona Cafe... not even really Chef Mickey.
On my family's last trip to WDW - in May - we discovered this diamond in the sand. Inside this modest ice cream booth is a treasure waiting to be unearthed by the masses simply called the "Garbage Pail." Inside a sterilized green sand bucket complete with cheap blue shovel is eight scoops of vanilla-choco swirl soft serve. They coat the bottom layer in hot fudge, melted caramel, and REAL strawberry sauce then topped with whipped cream. Then, they do it again... and again, and again! At the top layer they stir in Oreo bits, walnuts, and dried strawberry slices along with the sauces. Next, they "Christmas Tree" it with whipped cream, dash on mickey-shaped sprinkles, four Maraschino cherries and hand it to you for the bargain price of $7.99! (Or the cost of three other one-scoop regular ice creams.) Bask in the admiring looks as you carry it to your picnic table and live your secret fantasy of eating ice cream with a shovel. This is a Disney memory waiting to happen and worth the price of admission to Typhoon Lagoon!
This was a truly magical experience! It was worth every penny. My husband and I were treated like royalty. It is a memory that I will cherish for a lifetime.
We loved it! Kids couldn't believe that they actually had to set the table and keep their elbows off of it. Much happening around you....great theme and the waiters are very interactive. But the best was the Fried Chicken...yummo! We finished the meal off with the Brownie Sundae with craker-Jack topping....exceeded my expectations for an in -the- park meal.
My family and I love Fulton's Crab House!! The food is out of this world the service, not so much. It was at the top of its game but it seems to be OVER crowded and the personal attention is lacking. The was still good.
This was one of my favorite places. We went here when I was a child. And I must say I abosoultly loved it. However its not for the anti-social crowd. This is an interactive event for the whole family...and then some. I will be returning there in a week and plan on once again eating at 50's Prime Time. It will be interesting to see if it has stood the test of time or has become laxed. Updated profile will be available soon!!!
The free samples are great. Ghirardelli is some of the best chocolate. Try the ice cream if you can afford it. The stuff isn't cheap but it is delicious.
It's just an oversized McDonald's! not that that's always a bad thing...
My family and I ate at 'Rose & Crown' this past July for the second time. We love it for so many reasons. For one, the food is outstanding. With the dining plan, all 17 people in the party enjoyed both their appetizer and entre, as well as their desserts!! There was not one complaint (and I have some pretty picky family members). I ordered the Steak and Fish meal and it was incredible. The "Bangers & Mash" and Fruit & Cheese Plate were favorites among the family. Its location is great, too. We ate outside with a perfect view of Illuminations Reflections of Earth. Lastly, the service was one of the nicest (if not the nicest) our whole vacation! It was my birthday the day we dined, and our waitress brought out a card and a special desert in addition to the desert I had all ready ordered. I would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a relaxing sit-down dinner in EPCOT, with an incredible view of the fireworks. Make sure you make your reservations!!
Dry food--I rewquested a manager after I had paid the bill and he sent three hourly employees to the table before he finally came---I did not want compensation but he thought I was was looking for a free meal. Managed 6 major casinos on and off the strip in Las Vegas and never experienced this type of experience. Have hired many J1 Visa students and employees to do the same function--it is the leadership that takes them in the right direction. 3000 meals a day is a common thing in one restaurant on the strip--they are doing 1500---2000. You can par cook the food and finish ala minute 10 minutes prior to service re sulting in moist tastful food. Should this restaurant continue with the same production track, service and guest recovery system they will survive but make less profits --good luck
The food variety is a lot like the Pecos Bill restaurant in MK, but it is a bit bigger. There are many props and movie artifacts scattered around the place. The food is always good, theaming is better. overall, the Backlot Express is a good place to eat at MGM, check it out.
Could not beleive this was only CS. It was an awesome deal on the DDP. Great food. The spinache pizza was awesome. This is a must eat.
All I can say is this place was awesome! The kids loved their meals. My husband even had the chef come out so my son could compliment him. He was not allowed to take a tip, but he was happy for the compliment. The pretezel bread sticks were awesome. I had the "moose" for dessert. It was so cute I had to get a picture. This is now my must eat on every trip.
I was disappointed in this resturant. We ahd a really long wait even with ressies. It was extremely loud. Food was ok, it was better in 1995. Aquarium was cool, but my kids were tired and hungry so we did not have that much fun. Portions were small. If I was not on DDP we would have not gone. This used to be my favorite resturant.
Food was good and atmosphere was nice, but I think it was over rated. Would have liked to see a little more 50's acting. Waitstaff was great and very nice to my 3 yr old.
Food was amazing, service was marvelous! My husband and sister took me for my birthday this year and we had a FABULOUS time! I loved looking out and seeing all the Disney parks in the evening! I only wish we could have gotten later seating so that we could see the fireworks!
The experience alone was worth it. I had made reservations which I highly recommend. We only stood in line to have pictures with cindy about 10 mins. We have older girls so the anxiety wasnt there for us as it was for the other parents. They do rush you through which I can understand to a point. Cinderella was most interactive with my 2. We were seated immediately. My oldest daughter was seated in the back so she only was able to get up for one picture. It was very crowded seating ...it's designed around the small children but all are catered to. the characters were very sweet and interactive. It was my husbands birthday and they all signed his card and made a special deal over him as well. The food...was okay. The muffin basket was great selection. I even had my picture take with the fairy god mother all alone! my husband made a special request and they were greatful to accomadate. if you've never done it ...for sure put it on your list. Once your seated take your time. WE always rush ourselves thinking others need their turn as well...this is a pricey meal to rush!. Pictures came out great!
This was our 1st character dining...we had revervations for 8:20 AM I was also told during the booking that ANY restaurant that has breakfast that you book with the park has to let you in (with your reservation number) even if the park isnt open! The MK was opening early that day but the Breakfast diners had another line to stand in as they were let in 15 mins early.///we were 1st in line! and the first in the park...I cant tell you how fantastic that was...seriously....we were in front and all alone on Main street for a good 5 mins...sounds crazy but WOW to see the castle and main street without one person on it was so amazing...then to get right in for breakfast! All the characters come around , pictures and terrific services..handmade omelets to order...they even made egg white ones!ALL of that in one morning !!! that was for me a true magical experience.
When I was there in Jan 07 I stopped by and got a Wetzel dog..And I couldn't believe how good it was...so during the time I'd stop in the West Side District I'd go and stop by to get 1 or 2 there just soo good!
This wonderful little place serves up our quintessential Epcot culinary experience—schoolbread. At least once a trip we snack on this while waiting for Illuminations. Try it, but never take the last one in case I haven’t gotten mine yet. We also enjoy their soup and sweet pretzel.
The salads, sides and entrees were only fair, but the desserts were excellent. I’m a cheesecake lover, and the Bavarian one they served may be my favorite anywhere. It’s unbelievably light and it lets the cheese do the talking as there is very little crust (I won’t say how many pieces I ate). The strudel with vanilla crème sauce was nearly as good. Many complain about having to sit with others at this restaurant. Well, I’m fairly anti-social, but one of the appealing aspects of Epcot is meeting people from different corners of the world. I’m not one to walk up and talk to a stranger; I felt completely at ease, however, talking to others at our table here. The band was entertaining, too. They played a few instruments that you don’t ever see. I do think they go a bit overboard in having you “raise your glasses,” though. Once in a sub-fifteen minute performance would be sufficient. Our waitress was friendly and extremely attentive to us. All in all, we enjoyed ourselves.
Mc Donalds food, but liked the unlimited salad, onions and mushrooms you could add to your food off a counter. yum really enjoyed it.
Always satisfying, nice menu, excellent service and at around $50 from 3 people reasonably priced. In nearly 60 trips to Disney, Nine Dragons is a favorite of me and my sons and it’s always on our list at least twice in a week long trip. If you can manage a table by the windows facing the lake the view is fantastic… and at dusk it’s absolutely magical!
The restaurant is architectually appealing and the belly dancer was definitely worth seeing but the food was nothing to write home about, not really worth all the "different" hype and our waiter was a sketchy creep and that made the meal uncomfortable. If you really want to try something different, you could do better than here.
Not only is it the most fun restaurant just to be a part of fun, but i found it to be the best food in Disney!!! The "All-You-Care-To-Enjoy Canyon Skillet" is incredible and also physically impossible to stop eating. The staff is hilariously cheesy in only the way Disney could be and you won't find ketchup on your table so you better ask your waiter for a bottle... or 100. (I promise you'll get that once you've eaten there) So what are you waiting for?!!?! Go make your reservation now!!!
We eat there so often (at one time once a week for three weeks) that the staff recognizes us. Food is great. Its always good. Service is sometimes hit-or-miss depending on the time of day. For the price it is top notch!
This is one of the restaurants that when my wife and I want to go out to eat but are tired of the same old, same old. Its always good and a must try for the adventurous. If you are a picky eater, try somewhere else. I'm not being mean I'm just trying to save you some money. If you're picky and everyone else in your party wants to eat there then stick to the Prime Ribs, Chicken and kids selections.
I absolutely love the Noodle Station! Unfortunately, the menu has changed so many times since it has opened. Also, it often operates on a very odd schedule; often only open during busy times. The food is very tasty and a nice change from what is offered at most counter service locations in the MK.
Great Food, Music & dancing! I hate the seating. Me and my 5yr old had to sit with a family of 6. My hubby was too tired to keep the ressie. so just the two of us went. Don't know if I would do this again because of the seating. My husband would have hated this seating arrangement.
Awesome! Just like a traditional Luau! My 5yr old daughter could not stop dancing thru-out the entire show! Food was fantastic! Service was great. I've read lots of bad reviews, I really do not know how anyone can not like this show. The different island dances were done perfectly! To really enjoy this show I recomend Tier 1, and check in early. You are seated in the tier you paid for, according to your check in time. We were front row center. I could understand not having a good time in tier 3, or in the back half of tier 2. Afterwards you're let out on the beach. We went to the early show so the sunset was beautiful! We hung around at the Poly, had drinks and then watched the Water Parade. Perfect evening.
How can you give this place less then a ten?
Flys were everywhere and my daughter swated at one in her face and it landed in her drink. The duck I had was nasty and had a horrible gamey taste... my daughters chicken I think was put into a dryer for an hour before serving it to her. Would never think about going back here, even if someone offered to pay for my entire meal.
OMG this was so good I couldnt resist going back 3 times!!! And I dont usually like the larger breakfast sausage because it tends to not be as tasty as the smaller links but my goodness they were good! The only thing that wasnt liked was the coffee... my wife and kids are huge coffee drinkers and they said it was very strong and had a funny taste. I cant wait for my next trip to try lunch and dinner here.
During our trip last week we grabbed lunch here for the first time... all I can say is AWESOME burgers and fries and my 2 girls (17 & 19) thought the grilled turkey and cheese was amazing. I know it sounds silly to rant about something so simple but it was really THAT good... so good in fact that when we went back to MGM later in the week we couldnt resist going there again and got the same thing. I was suprised to see the below comment about being filthy. It was pretty darned crowded the first time and other then the table being dirty I had no problems... and actually the only reason it was dirty was because my wife was stalking tables and jumped at this one the second the group stood up to leave. The second time around we couldnt get a table inside and the lines were horribly long but then again that could easily be contributed to the Star Wars Weekend. Future trips to MGM will not be complete wihtout having lunch here.
good service, fast line, decent food and great fixin bar ...loved the mushrooms
crowded, long lines and the place was a mess! fility floor , fixin bar was empty. Ordered chocolate pudding with my sons meal and asked for a spoon. Was told they dont have any? How do you eat it then with a straw? Finally found one near the coffee supplies.
this was the 1st time we tried this resturant. While not authentic italian it was OK. Pizza was good, kid loved the spaghetti, however penne alla vodka was NOT like any I had ever seen or eaten before ( and that is not a compliment). Minestrone Soup was awesome , so so service.
I have been to Alfredos many times over the years and this was by far the best. (not that the others were bad) Appetizers we had calamari and salad both were wonderful. The waiter was friendly gave us the incredible service. I never had to ask for anything, I would just look down and glasses were refilled, bread etc. For dinner we had fettuccin alredo which awesome. Hubby had gnocci which he loved. Dessert chocolate Mousse to die for! My son who is 6 had spaghetti and meatballs and italian ice cream for dessert. he loved it all. Alfredos is a busy place and rather loud but if you like real italian food give it a try. It is rather $$$ but worth every penny. We will definitely be visiting again.
Ok so my husband wanted to try this and boy what a mistake. My 6 year old ate soup, nothing else would he even attempt to try. I cant say I blame him i didnt eat much more than salads and mac and cheese! If you like beer and german food I am sure this is a great place but if your not sure dont spend the money trying it. I figured I could at least fill up on dessert, big mistake it was horrible! No taste at all, maybe they dont use much sugar in germany? The entertainment was fun and the service was good, but the milky white sausage thingys just didnt do it for us :)
Awesome place for a snack, such as chili cheese fries that will absolutely knock your socks off. The downside is that the place gets EXTREMELY crowded, even though the place is huge. As of my visit about a year ago, the place was opened up a bit more by replacing the bulky chairs with stools. Not as comfy, but it's much easier to walk now! Like I said, the fries rock, especially when you add the condiments at the extreme "fixins" station. (Beware to parents: the cheese dispensers are EXTREMELY hot. Definitely don't let the kids do it themselves. I've burned myself countless times on this thing...I'm 18, you'd think I would learn by now!)
I think I might have rated CA Grill higher had it not been hyped up to me so much before I dine there. Overall, the atmosphere is nice, though a bit noisy. I really wish that Disney would more strictly enforce the dress code and have a child age limit. I'm not keen on eating a fine meal in such a noisy environment. With regards to the food, while it was passable, it certainly wasn't amazing. I don't even remember what I got. If it had been spectacular, I would have remembered what I ate. All in all, the best dining experience on property is at Jiko.
The location of this place is PERFECT! I was also pleased to see that they sell vegetarian burgers, something hard to find throughout WDW. Overall, this place is pretty nice.
I loved Tony's! We had lunch there one afternoon and it was a great way to relax miday through the park. The spaghetti and meatballs was delcious, but I would suggest splitting it because it is so large. The atmosphere was great and it was overall a great experience!
This place isn't for people who enjoy a quiet sit down dinner experience. The atmosphere reminds you of back in the day when elbows werent alout on the tables and you have to finish all your vegetables before desert. It's a very fun environment once you get used to the waiters picking on you for not doing the irght thing at the dinenr table. Food is basic and simple basically home cooking like meatloaf and what not. Reccomended for familys and people looking to have a little fun at dinner. Not for those who want romantic style dinner.
Maybe the best service of the entire trip (May 12-19). The African flavor made the meal unique, but not too over the top. Still plenty to eat for picky eaters. Nice selection of interesting beers--try the spicy, wheat beer.
Last trip was my first meal at CR. I was a little nervous because before the trip about this reservation because many of the reviews I had read were poor. But I have to say, we had a great meal and a great expereince. I had the blackened catfish over grits, and it was one of my favorite dishes of the entire trip. Service was good, and they were more than happy to sit us up front when we requested.
We filled our last trip with nice, and expensive, dinners. But at the end of the week, we all still agreed that Beaches and Cream was the best way to spend an evening meal. I miss those onion rings almost as much as I miss WDW in general.
We ate here on May 27, 2007 for breakfast. We were seated almost immediately and the characters came around soon after. Although our table wasn't the most ideal for characters to notice us, we got to see Goofy and Minnie twice, and Chip/Dale once. They were great at interacting with us, considering we were 5 adults. I loved their bathing suit costumes also lol. The food? Well, I loved the breakfast pizza and the other selections. But we felt the selection was lacking as opposed to say 1900 Park Fare. However, we did fill ourselves up with what was there. I told the girl at check-in that we had two birthdays and they brought out 2 rather large single cakes (bigger than cupcakes). My brother and sister couldn't even finish it and we took it back to the resort with us. Would definitely recommend this place as an underrated character breakfast with some of the original "gang" of characters to be met.
Ate at LTT for lunch on May 26, 2007. I ordered the Angus Chuck Cheeseburger and could barely finish the burger and fries but they were very good! Everyone ordered something different and everyone enjoyed their food. I told the girl at check-in that it was my brother and sister's birthdays and they gave them cupcakes (after saying "no" to a $10.50 cake). They also sang a unique happy birthday which was cute. The service was great and I highly recommend this restaurant for lunch. If you're lucky like we were, you can get a good seat by a window or even the entrance and see the afternoon parade go by lol.
This was our last character meal last week, and definetly had the best buffet. My little girl got sick and threw up, the staff was so helpful! The characters came around and spent an ample amount of time at each table. They did the little napkin swinging dance thing. The buffet food was incredible, but the dessert bar was to die for! They had so many ice cream toppings, my girls went nuts! It was a great experience and I will definetly go there again!
The food was just okay for me. It wasnt worth the $$ we spent for it. Also, the "entertainer" walking around drove us all insane with her singing!
We went here for dinner last week & I can't say enough about it. LARGE portions, and very, very good food!! The service we had left much to be desired, but the food was excellent!
Last week we went here for the Fantasmic dinner package. In my opinion, the food is mediocre & WAY overpriced.
I'm surprised to see this go. My family and i ate there in Jan 07 since it's so famous. The pasta fagoli was good, but not the greatest and the fetticinni was good but don't expect the usual taste. It's very rich. The cannolis were some of the best though! If you don't like the smell of fish then don't dine here, it did smell rather fishy in some areas closer to the kitchen. Our waiter was friendly, we asked him about his hometown in Italy and found out he's from where my grandfather was born. It was very busy in there though and not all the waitstaff was as friendly. I wonder if they're replacing it with something lower priced?
Four of us ate at the Big River Grille and all agreed that foodwise it was one of the very best meals of the whole holiday. What would have been a real highlight for us was, however, spoilt to a considerable degree by surly and even downright rude service. We politely asked why we'd been waiting for almost an hour for our food while many people had been served similar meals in half the time and our server went off on one! I would give it another chance as the food was so good, but if I saw the waitress from hell approaching I'd leave quicker than I entered.
Sure Cinderella was a little rushed but what do you expect wit hteh demand they have. The pictures went great. We had lunch there so the food was only so so I must admit, I had the pork and wished I got the beef thing lol. But for my kids it was great, even my son got a sword which was fabulous. Fairy Godmother was excellent telling and showing us where to get the only pics of all 4 other princesses together at the same time, and the interaction with all of them was greeat as well. I know a lot of people expect so much for the high price they charge but pretty much this is a once in a blue moon thing and look at it for what it is and how many people they do it for, get some perspective and don't be so down. It really was a great time and the picture comes with the package. Still not happy lol, think of all the people who can't even get a ressie for this and look at it like you already won before you even get there. It was great for us and we will do it again.
One of the best meal we had and the characters were awesome!!! Don't miss this!!
had one of our best meals there for breakfast. We went there for Donalds character meal and it was fabulous. Our server Neal was simply the best, we were on DDP and I still threw him a $10 for a tip despite already paying 18% with the DDP. I can't say enough about Neal lol. Don't pass this place up!!
Crowded, food wasn't that warm, staff not that friendly.
The ice cream here is good, but whenever I go I wish they had Mickey Premiums. I know I can get it a thousand other places, but it just seems weird that they wouldn't have it.
nice selection and variety. Service is also good especially compared to some of the other charater spots.
This is one of our favorite resturants in WDW! Not necessarily for the food, but the atmosphere. My 11 year old daughter LOVES hearing the waiters and waitresses harass us about things we have told her!! We enjoy it for the entertainment value. We do not go to WDW for the food...Not to sound like a snob, but we are from South Louisiana, and honestly, I think we have some of the best food in the world...at HOME. So, when we travel, we try to make the most of our time seeing as many things as possible and maximizing our time doing things other than eating. The resturants are just not that impressive to us. We have been to quite a few in WDW, as we have made 8 trips. We have traveled many places in the US, in addition to over-seas...and we still feel the same way about eating in many other countries. It just can't compare to New Orleans/Louisiana cuisine! (One exception...Switzerland...The meringue with cream...is unbelievable!!!) Don't mean to offend...That is just how my family feels about WDW food/resturants.
we did both breackfast and dinner at cindys and both were nice breackfast was more for the kids, while dinner was more adlut orainted. dinner we had while the fire works were goin off which was nice.
I ate there with my family on Easter Sunday '07. Their lasagna tastes so good!
I've visited this location twice now, and both times have had poor service, which makes me think it wasnt just a one off. The first time the server was just about OK, but the second time, the server was plain rude. The food was OK, but much better can be found elsewhere on the Boardwalk. The place is in a nice location, and could be a great place to eat if the customer service standards and food can improve.
The food at breakfast is the best on property, in my opinion. It's a bit pricey, but if you want one meal with characters and fantastic food, then this is it. If you have a picky eater in the family, even they should be able to find something here. There are usually many familes, so if that's not your thing, I'd find another restaurant. Also, definitely make reservations before you go. We waited one year to make reservations until we got down there, and we had to call several times a day for a week until we got in.
The menu here is fantastic. I haven't found anything here that I haven't liked. And, of course, the ice cream is fantastic. The only drawback is that the lines can be extremely long. I waited til nearly closing time for my food once.
One of my favorites. You're given a huge amount of food, and if you're trying to save money, it is very easy to split a meal. There's ample seating, with great views. Be sure to check the hours though, because they close early sometimes.
Having a daughter you are under a lot of pressure to see Cinderella. You would think that having a character meal in the castle would be the ultimate experience. Sadly it is not. Yes you see Cinderella, but she is pretty much just standing as the kids go up and get a picture with her (the rush you through faster than the outside character photo ops I guess because they know you've already bought one in the price of admission they don't care as much about making it a good picture). Don’t expect anymore than a quick “now smile” click and then your rushed off to make room for the next victim. Yes I said victim, considering the price they charge and the quality of the experience/food you are little more than a victim of robbery. How they have managed to keep the facts of this robbery a secret and continue to have people fighting to make reservations for it is beyond me. If you do have a daughter that is just dying to see a princess, tell her Cinderella ran away and take her to the Princess Tea Party instead. It costs more but they get more interaction with Princess Aurora than they would in 10 Castle meals.
We dined here, and loved the Princess breakfast. The daughter (18) loves Belle, and this was an opportunity for her to get her photos with her. The food was great, and very plentiful. Our server (From Norway) provided excellent service, and we were never without a full plate, or glass on the table. Worth the money. Remember that the photos are extra, but they are a nice touch. Plenty of princesses, although Cinderella is not here. Everyone else is...including Mulan.
We have dined several times at Cinderella's Royal Table, and each time, the service and quality has consistently declined. The very first time on our Honeymoon, it was "magical". The next great.....and then finally the last trip, mediocre. I am a Cinderella fan, and I loved the photos in the lobby, and I have one of the now extinct Castle Lithographs. LOVE IT!!!! However, a tiara will not make me come back to the "royal" table. The food was alright, however the Fairy Godmother's show was certainly not impressive. We were there for my daughter's High school graduation, and had spent over $300.00 on dinner, and when I told the Godmother that it was Hollie's graduation, she literally blew us off and traveled to the next table. No photos, nothing. Save your money.....1900 Park Fare is much better. Trust me.
This is definintely not the place to go if you are looking for a refined, relaxed dining experience. The food is only okay. You have to wonder when you place your order and in two minutes or less, it is sitting in front of you. In the future I'll skip this one.
I have lived in Orlando for 5 years and have been to nearly all of the Disney dining opportunities. I had not yet visited the Crystal Palace because every time I tried it was too long a wait to get in. I have to say I now understand why. What a great experience!! The food was fantastic!! Way better than we expected. Our waiter, Frankie, was the best. The Pooh characters thrilled all of the families. I'm an old curmudgeon and even I was touched by the picture my wife took of me with Tigger. What a joy. I'd highly recommend it for all. Do call ahead for a reservation.
My husband and I dined here on the 2nd day of our trip and our waiter was absolutely fabulous. We had had a bad morning (I had lost my license on Space Mountain) and he did everything in his power to help us forget. We were on our honeymoon and he took us to the front of the room and announced that we were newleyweds and everyone applauded. It was truly an experience we will never forget.
We've been to this RC on a number of occasions throughout the years. The food and the ambience never disappoint. The only drawback to this restaurant is the wait, which can be a while. But for us, we've never really had a problem here =)
We really enjoyed this restaurant. We tried it for the first time last May and the food was great, and filling. I don't think I finished my chicken parmesan. My sister ordered the 4-cheese flatbread and that was also good. The atmosphere is great, the service was great, and I'd highly recommend trying this place once.
They have excellent food.
I like the Dole Whip, but I must confess my true love is the Dole Whip Float.
I work at a local supermarket that has awesome deli subs, but there's something about Earl of Sandwich that makes it unique. Sure the process is similar to a Quiznos or Subway, but the quality and variety is hard to beat. For one thing they age their meats. When you place your order look directly behind them - that's fresh baked bread back there. Salads prepared while you watch and awesome cookies. Don't forget to try the HP Sauce on the table. I've had to special order it for myself since we don't stock it!
My friends all love Alfredo's, but since I am from Jersey I must say that I have had the real deal and sadly this is not it. The wait staff is rude 75% of the time, they rush you, the place always had a funny smell, the tables are way too close to each other. The food is alright at best. I don't hate the place, I just know I can go elsewhere at Epcot and get a better meal. Sad to see the history of the place go... but excited to see what they replace it with.
This review is only on my last trip to the Rain Forest in Animal Kingdom. In the past I have loved this place and it was always our first restaurant for lunch when we arrived (in the village). However the last time I went there the place seemed to be falling apart. The place looked dirty, the staff did not have their usual boisterous attitudes and the food was terrible (at least mine; Rasta Pasta). My wife’s barbequed chicken pizza was good as always but the whole place gave me the feeling like it was about to close. Could its days be numbered with the opening of the Yak and Yeti? I would hope not but I do think management needs to take a look around at the place and make some much needed changes. The food is usually quite good and I will return to test it out again. The menu is huge and anyone will be able to find something to eat. So far twice in the Animal Kingdom RF I have had bad experiences but never in the Marketplace one (other then 2 hour wait times). I hope this Rain Forest fares better then the one in South America.
The food is good (think Bennigan’s or TGIF) and the atmosphere is lively and colorful. On weekend nights the wait here is crazy so be sure to have ADRs and even with them you might have a wait. The memorabilia is very nice for a movie buff like me but the place does look like it is falling apart. I am not sure who’s jurisdiction (I would say Disney because it ruins their aesthetic appeal) the crumbling structure falls under but it is in much need of repairs. Other then it being a little on the pricey side for the type of food you get it is a nice place to eat and the kids will love the props. This is one thing from Hollywood that actually NEEDS a facelift.
O’hana is just one of those “feel good” type of places where you just cant help but smile. Since we try and stay at the Poly we usually eat here multiple times. Every time has been better then the last. The only down side is that the “sides” are usually better then the entrees. This isn’t a bad thing especially because it is all you can eat but the main courses are chunks of meat on a skewers whereas the sides are shrimp and potatoes that are amazing. Another critique is sometimes the wait staff in their jubilation forget to check what you have on the table and put EVERYTHING down in hopes of rushing you out. I have had to tell each waiter to slow down, there is no way anyone can eat that fast. The table fills up fast and if you have room for dessert you are a better person then me. I wanted another portion of potatoes but I didn’t have room for dessert. It’s the price I had to pay. This is one “Cousin” who will be at the family reunion each and every trip (O’hana means family and all the cast members call you “cousin”).
I have always heard from people that EPCOT’s Nine Dragons restaurant was terrible and like an idiot I took their word for it. Let me tell you that NY has the best Chinese food in the world (Yes, better then China) but this is some of the best I have had outside. If you do plan going make dinner reservations because it is much better then lunch. For dinner there is Duck and full portions of the entrees where during lunch they were sampler platters. The honey golden sesame chicken was great and the stir fried shrimp had so many shrimp we split it (well lets just say I took some of my wife’s, no one touches my sesame chicken ?). Don’t get me wrong lunch is good also but go for dinner to get the full courses you want. From not even being tried this restaurant went right to my “must eat” list. Confucius say, “Man with big appetite finds solution to problem at Nine Dragons.”
This restaurant is a gem. My wife and I love it and it has made it to my “must eat” list. The setting is very nice especially if you are lucky enough to get a table overlooking the water. Citrico’s is another great Grand Floridian restaurant but this setting makes Narcoossee’s the winner for me. The drinks were great the crab cakes awesome, the chowder was top notch and the seafood was so fresh it was still moving. My only negative comment was that the meal seemed to rush by. Settings like this I like to take my time and enjoy my surroundings but at this one the time seemed to fly by. There is nothing more romantic then taking a boat from the Poly and docking right next to the restaurant, getting out, eating and then watching the fireworks from the porch over looking Seven Seas Lagoon. I wish I was there right now.
I have eaten here 5 times over the course of the restaurants existence. The first time I swore not to come back but my belly talked me into it and I was glad it did. I believe every restaurant deserves a second chance (except for Bongos) and I am glad I gave Mama Melrose’s one. One of those nights I did use the Fantasmic option and it turned out to be a bit pricey but other then that the food is worth the price. One different occasions we had the veal, several flatbreads and a couple of the pasta dishes and we were not disappointed. The setting is a California type Italian restaurant with the walls looking like they are trying to make the setting authentic but it is all planned. The wait staff were young and friendly and knew a lot about the menus. My one critique of this restaurant is the waiting area. It is very cramped and tight especially if there are a number of strollers parked indoors. I know they are closing this one down soon and I only hope that when they reopen it it will be with a little better setup. If you like calamari get that as an appetizer. After dining in this airy restaurant your mouth might say Mama Melrose but your belly will say Mama Mia!
Although the food was OK (I live in NY and many Italian restaurants outside of NY aren’t very good) I am still glad to be seeing this restaurant going. It needs a change and although the setting was great the food wasn’t anything to get whacked over. I know they boast about inventing the famous fettuccine Alfredo but they certainly did not perfect it. I give them a pass on this because many American palettes are used to bland food that many EPCOT restaurants have to tone down the spices. The wait staff seemed rushed at times and not very attentive. A waiter actually put a wine cooler right behind my chair at one sitting and when I got up it was ice galore all over the floor (man I wish the video camera was running that night). Hopefully when Disney revamps this restaurant and puts in something else it has more of an Italian flair from all over the country. If someone had only a couple days in EPCOT to eat and asked me about Alfredo’s I would have to reply FORGEDDABOUTIT.
When this place opened and it was buffet style it was one of the worst restaurants on the property. Boy how things have changed. If you are even lucky enough to get a dinner reservation (call 180 days out) you will still have to wait before getting seated. Trust me though it is worth it. The setting is very cozy (wine cellar) with flickering candles and a musty air about it. The restaurant is set up for different provinces of Canada but each one is as cozy as the next. The pretzel bread to start out is amazing and couple that with some cheddar cheese soup and you have a winning combination. The entrees were top notch also and the wait staff was very friendly and attentive. I have been to this restaurant at least 15 times (lunch and dinner) since it changed over and it has yet to disappoint me. If you can get a reservation then you HAVE to eat here. Lunch ADRs are easier to come by so book that if you cant book dinner. Other then the California Grille this is my favorite place to eat in all of Disney.
I think the problem that most people have with Jiko is what they order. I am a big guy of 6’0” 225lbs and I usually enjoy a healthy portion of food. My first trip to Jiko I ordered the scallops and this is no meal for a hungry person. The portion was small (three scallops) and there was nothing but garnish on the plate. I complained to my brother who recommended the place and he suggested another go of it with what he ordered. He was right. Not only was I full after the meal but I thought it was one of the best meals I had had on property in some time. The filet was on par with the California Grille and the setting of Jiko is very quaint. The African beers are extremely tasty and not very heavy either. The pyramid dessert was great and capped off an excellent meal. Jiko is now on my “must eat” list. The odd thing about this restaurant is that even though it seemed empty each time I have gone I had to wait a bit. I am not sure if it is a cultural thing or what but no one in the restaurant and I still waited over 15 minutes after checking it.
This used to be a staple of every trip to Disney but lately it has lost its luster. The wait staff used to be some of the best on property but the last three times they have failed to live up to even low standards. The food always tasted fresh and we never had a problem with the décor but when you are spending that kind of money on dinner you expect a certain level of professionalism. Our last time there (July 2006) we were sat at a beautiful table overlooking the water and the hostess who sat us was great and very friendly but as soon as she left the meal went South. Our waiter/waitress (two throughout the meal) were very preoccupied with something not on the restaurant floor because they were never around. I even asked if they had tables downstairs in the lounge but they said “no” only these three right here. I didn’t want to push the point that they aren’t around and taking care of their tables so I just let it go. At the end of the meal of called for the manager to come over and he seemed like he was bothered by the entire conversation and wanted to join his friends in the back so I again I didn’t press the issue. When people come to a restaurant such as this there are certain expectations that should be a given and this restaurant is not living up to those expectation. I predict Fulton’s is soon to be sleeping with fishes instead of serving them if something doesn’t change quick.
This restaurant was exactly what I expected it to be. This isn’t a bad thing. I went there for some good “TGI Fridays” type of meal and it didn’t disappoint. The setting is sports bar and the place can get very loud. I would recommend this place for parties of four or more but couples stay clear because the drinks flow and the sports are even in the bathrooms (I didn’t want to leave). Be advised that this is about the only crowded place on all of the Boardwalk (wish this would change) with the exception of Jelly Rolls at night.
All I can say is WHAT HAPPENED? This place used to be my favorite but now it is on my “do not eat at” list. I was so upset at the changes that I tried it five more times after my first bad experience looking for some glimmer of hope that the old Coral was returning. In a word Overpriced would best suit the title of this restaurant. The dwindling number of fish in the aquarium makes this even more of a let down for children. This place used to be one of the premier restaurants on property and now it is going down in a ball of flames. The portions are so small for the money it borders on the absurd. The wait staff was not knowledgably about any of the entrees except the chicken and even then wasn’t sure if it was boneless. The drinks were potent but lacked originality. The desserts are so so but nothing to make someone go there. The only thing this place has going for it now is the setting. By far one of the coolest restaurants around but with the die off of the fish population in The Seas this places is taking on water. It won’t be long before this place sinks to the bottom of Davey Jones Locker (where it currently belongs).
I don’t know what it is about this restaurant but every time I eat here it seems like the wait staff are new or have no idea how to run a restaurant. I love the setting and the crab cakes and chowder are great but something about the service always seems to be lacking. I have only eaten here for lunch so maybe they are more lacked at that time but there is definitely something off. I also noticed the same thing at Fulton’s last time I had lunch there. I would recommend this restaurant for people who have never been especially if you don’t want to wait 2 hours+ for the Rain Forest. Unless something changes I would really only return here for dinner to see if its different at that time.
This meal was not the best but it was definitely enjoyable. Again I am not a fan of the buffet style meals but this one was by far different then most. The seafood tasted fresh and the salad bar alone could fill a hungry man. There were ribs, and many different items that should allow everyone get their money’s worth. The setting was nice but we had a great table. I did see some tables that I would not have wanted but you can always reject your table and take the next one. The resort that this is in is very quaint and cozy. The one complaint I have about it is the wait to get in. We had first seating ADRs and still waited on line over 30 minutes to get to the hostess. This might have been a fluke but it did seem like a bad way to start the meal. We were happy that even a bad start didn’t hurt a great dinner.
Where do I start? Since Disney changed this from “The Top of the World” to the nuevo cuisine of the California Grille I was dead set against it. I have heard so many rave reviews from people about this place that I finally had to try it for myself. I am now kicking myself for all those trips that I didn’t dine here. First off the setting and atmosphere are amazing. I mean you can see the Magic Kingdom while you eat, so what’s not to like. Secondly the food was by far the best I have ever had in all of Disney. The filet could be cut with my fork. The sushi starter and the appetizers were amazing and don’t even get me going on the desserts. When we first arrived (party of two) we were crowded into a tiny elevator and brought of the 14th floor. That was the worst part of the experience (they really need a newer elevator or a better way to get guests up there). Once there it was magical. Our waitress was amazing and walked us through each special and every course. She timed our dinner perfectly and I am sure this is uncommon but it took us over 3 hours to finish our meals. Each course she let us sit and enjoy our cocktails/wine before the next was brought out. We watched the sun set over the Magic Kingdom and were even invited back later in the evening to watch the fireworks from the observation deck outside. Although the meal came to over $300.00 with wine and drinks for two it was so well worth it. It will now be on the top of my “must eat” list from now on. This is the ONLY 10/10 I will give on these reviews.
My rating may be a bit harsh but that is only because of the high standards that I hold Disney on site restaurants to have. From the moment we were seated the experience was a let down. Although the restaurant is cozy looking the feelings you get are that of being an intruder in a strange land. The wait staff constantly talked to each other in Spanish (not that it is bad but it can be rude to people who cannot understand what you are saying right in front of you), and even carried on a conversation right in front of us when I asked about something our waitress couldn’t answer. This was not something that was meant to increase the experience of the restaurant it was more being rude to the people that they thought couldn’t speak Spanish. The funny thing was that when I answered her, in English, to what she spoke in Spanish, to the other waitress, she looked at me like I betrayed her. I merely wanted her to know that I clearly heard her talking about another table to her waitress friend and that it was unacceptable. The food was OK but nothing spectacular. The appetizer was the highlight of the meal but it was so small it only lasted a second or two. All in all I would not recommend this restaurant mainly because for my experience, but for this to have happened means that management has dropped the ball and that is unacceptable.
Having eaten and Jiko many times I decided to give Boma a try. I am not a fan of buffet restaurants (I have to get my own food at home I want to be served on vacation?). We had 7PM ADRs and it took almost 20 minutes to be seated (table of four). That was the worst part of our experience. The food was GREAT. There was not one thing that I put on my plate that I did not finish and I tried it all. The atmosphere, although very crowded, was jubilant and light and the severs there were very attentive. We had some African beers to start the meal and they tasted great and went down easy. If you haven’t tried this restaurant give it a try and don’t let the lack of familiar foods scare you, it’s all great and there is something for everyone (chicken fingers and French fries). Be sure to get ADRs here because it is a huge restaurant that gets filled up for most of the night.
Fun for groups but not so for couples. Let me rephrase that, not for couples looking for a quiet dinner. We were there with a group of six our last trip and the couple that sat with us seemed like they wanted the table all to themselves. I am sorry but please be advised that YOU ARE FORCED TO SIT WITH PEOPLE at this restaurant so be prepared. That being said the restaurant inside is amazing. It gives the feel of being outdoors just as much as the Mexican pavilion. The show (although shorter this trip then past trips) was a lot of fun and especially great for the kids. The children, and everyone, are invited to come on to the dance floor and dance to the oompa band. The atmosphere was great and the food was pretty good. Be sure not to have any finicky eaters with you because they may have a hard time finding something to eat. The beer was great and the experience was top notch but again I really only return to this restaurant with 4 or more people because many times sitting with others causes unneeded stress at the tables (for the people thinking it’s THEIR had a table of four). One woman actually told my wife and I that this was her families table and preceded to ignore us the entire time when the hostess explained to them that they are tables for eight.
Artist’s Point is more then just a restaurant it is more of an experience. The décor is quiet and classy and the food is spectacular. The Portobello Soup was amazing and the wait staff was top notch. Although the venison wasn’t the best I had it was still very good. The beef tenderloin and the buffalo were cooked to perfection. The restaurant has some spectacular views and should definitely be on everyone’s “must eat” list. I didn’t eat there with children so I am not sure it would be a place for them but I wouldn’t see why not.
I do not know why but I LOVE this place. I agree that the food isn’t the best, the service is sub par and the crowded environment seems like a fire hazard, but I still need to be here every trip. It has one of the most romantic atmospheres of any restaurant in Disney and the Mango Margaritas are to die for. My biggest problem with the restaurant as of late was them stopping the casa funditos. These were a huge hit and when asked why our first answer was they didn’t have the ingredients yet each ingredient was listed on another entrée/appetizer. I didn’t like the way the waiter lied to me and then told me he worked in another restaurant off property that makes the best casa funditos around. The manager was the one who gave me the “real” story. That the appetizer, although popular, took too long for the servers to prepare ?. Get em in and get em out I guess. All in all it is still on my “must eat” list
Every trip I make ADR at the Prime time. For the last few trips the place has really seemed to have gone down hill. I am not sure if it’s the cast members or the patrons. “Gone” are the days of everyone getting involved and enjoying themselves and “In” are the days of people just wanting a quiet meal. My advice to people who sit there and do not interact is to go eat somewhere else. Nothing is more upsetting to a cast member here then people not reacting to what they say. Because of this I feel that the cast members have become less bold then they used to be. The restaurant needs some updating and training to the cast members and maybe a few more menu choices. The food however is quite good and they have the BEST milkshakes on the planet. My favorite server was Aunt Elaine and she will continue to have a huge place in my heart.
you have to stand in seperate lines for different varietys of food. They used to have the world's best ceaser salad, now, since they switched the dressing to an oily italian/ceaser, it is horrible. I had always thought the food was not so great, but now that the ceaser salad is no more, the only thing good at this place is the pulled pork sandwich.
My wife and I are always at disney for our anniversary and the sci-fi is always visited at least once per visit to celebrate. Sure it's not the classiest but it has character and those great corny sci-fi clips to watch on the movie screen. The sky at night effect is lovely and it's quite romantic in a noisy sort of way cuddling up in the cars to have your meal, kind of like a date. We've always found the service good with friendly servers who have refilled our drinks enough to our liking. The food is basic but cooked well and the portions are more than enough to fill you up. The space in the cars is a little tight, but once again can make things a little more romantic for a couple. We tend to go for burgers and fries and while you pay more than you would in most places, it's the experience you're paying for and we've never been rushed. Preferred seating is a must for normal lunch or dinner slots but we've never been kept waiting more than ten minutes when turning up at our allocated time. Want to try it out and save some money first, just go for a desert there's a good choice on the menu!
Another staple of the Kerby clan. I prefer this to Nine Dragons. All the food is top notch. Love the Orange chicken!!!
My wife and I love Mexican and this is one of our other staples for a good meal. I usually get the combo plate and that way get a little of everything. The wife loves the nachos. My other favorite is the frozen margarita. You should try it.
Ever since my first trip in 2000, I've eaten at least one meal per trip here. My wife and I love it. From Sonny to the layout to the menu. You cant go wrong!!!
Two words: Kitchen Sink. It is the most gloriously terrible thing you (and I pray your traveling companions) will ever consume. Every topping in the place combined with a half dozen scoops of ice cream and a full can of whipped cream. It's something to try at least one... if nothing else, on a dare.
My family normally watches IllumiNations from between Norway and China. That leaves us conveniently placed to get dessert from the Kringla Bakeri Og Kafe. I've been to WDW with groups from 2 to 11, and pretty much everyone has found something they like at the Bakeri. Personally, I'm a huge fan of the sweet pretzels (AKA kringlas). Other family members or friends have gone for cake or other items, and they're usually smiling when they're done. As a general note, the service at the Bakeri seems a bit slow to me. I don't know if that's a staffing issue or not. Regardless, if you've only got 5 minutes left before IllumiNations starts, you probably don't want to head for the Bakeri, as it's often crowded, and you may miss the beginning of the show. If you've got enough time, I'd definitely recommend it.
If you're looking for a high-quality, quiet, refiend dining experience, I probably wouldn't recommend Pizzafari. If you're looking for good food, good atmosphere, and decent prices (for WDW), Pizzafari's a great choice. It's the place for pizza at Animal Kingdom, but they offer other items, too, so you can probably please a large group of people if you eat here. What makes Pizzafari really neat is the decor and ambiance. Like the rest of Animal Kingdom, it's bright and fun, and your eyes never get bored. There's always something to look at.
Liberty Tree Tavern was a good, hearty meal that stuffed us to the core! We were expecting a lot from LTT, as we had heard it was like a Thanksgiving feast, and indeed there was a lot of very delicious food. The pork was the best! Definitely go hungry. The theming was excellent and the characters were non-stop. Our reservations were for 5PM and I would recommend going later if possible. Our service was OK, but what proceeded throughout the night overshadowed the positives. He was not very enthusiastic and it was pretty slow coming out, although not sure if it was based on him firing our order or the kitchen. Also, at the end of the meal when he brought the dessert, he took it upon himself to bring a 3rd plate for our 1 year old daughter, and when we used it, removed another of our table service credits from our que. I called the front back at our resort and inquired about it, but of course it was our fault for letting her eat off the plate, etc. Anyway, I would go back again but it isn't a "must see" for every trip.
This is a great fish and chip shop. Being English, I know good fish and chips, and this place definately delivers! It's about as good as fish and chips gets, and it's provided the famous Harry Ramsdens company, who have several shops in England. It is counter service, with not much seating, and it's all outdoors. Be prepared for a queue, as service can be quite slow, and it's a very popular place. The food is always very fresh though, so the wait is worth it.
I know some people like having cast members annoy them at lunch or dinner but not me and I am sure many people feel the same way. The people serving are not relatives of mine, my MOM does not work in this place. I pay money for a nice meal and relaxation not to have somebody half my age give me a hard time for not finishing my plate. Not being around in the 50s I can not comment on the theming but to me it looks phoney like a huge 50s sterotype. The food itself I find bland and overpriced. Good milkshake though or I would of scored the place lower.
The food is always good. You can't beat all you can drink shakes. Every time we go to Disney this is a must. I have never had a bad meal here. The entertainment is always enjoyable. The wait staff is great!!! If you are looking for a quiet resturant this isn't for you.
Mrs Potts has some of the best milkshakes at WDW. We've made them an EMH tradtion. One major problem with Mrs Potts is the variable operating hours. They do not often stay open for the entire park operating hours, so check the times guide.
This is one of my favorite locations to eat quickly at Downtown Disney. They have amazing seasoned fries here, and great pizza. Seating is limited, and is mostly outdoors. If you can get in, or dont mind queueing, I highly recommend it.
I Love the Rainforest Cafe. I go at least 2 times every trip. The Theming is great and a lot of fun.I have always had excellent service and the food is really great. They have huge great salads and a lot of good appetizers. The pizzas are really good. The crab cake sandwich is AWESOME. I highly reccomend everyone to eat here at least once. If you have kids it is even better.:)
The sandwiches are the best and the prices are low....
What can I say we go there everytime we visit AK. So that is a least 2 twice every vacation.
We found this place in 2000 during the Keys to the Kingdom. We went back last year and really enjoy it. It's a quiet out of the way place where you can people watch.
We always enjoyed this place.
One word Grouper. Great place to eat
We did not like this place. The Counter Serive outside was much better. Overcrowed, food not good and I think the food tried to kill my wife.
This place is very loud and full of kids. We went there twice then it became old. It was fun but the food is fair.
WE went there in 1995 for our Honeymoon. Love the place
We use to visit this place on every trip, however it's not on the new Dinning Plan. SO we haven't been there in a few years.
I found this place to be okay. I wouldn't go out of my way to eat here again.
mmmmmmmmm Porter House
I use to eat here every trip unilt it wasn't available on the Dinning Plan. I do love the VOLCANO...
I was not impressed with this place. There is far better places IMHO at MGM...
I love this place. We went there for the first time in 2005 and have revisted everytime since then. I love the porterhouse.
This is a average place to eat but the prices was outstanding.
This place use to be one of the best, but the quality has gone down hill.
The Cedar Salmon was the best. We would go there again
This is one restaurant I cannot pass by. I MUST eat there every trip, and it's never a disappointment. I love the food and the atmosphere. I've been for both lunch (no characters) and dinner (characters) and each was nice.
Being a picky eater, this is definitely one of my favorite restaurants in the world. I love the simple menu with hamburgers, hot dogs, and fries! I always ordered a hot dog with grated cheddar cheese and strawberry shortcake for dessert. The place is tiny, but we're always there on the off season and never wait. (Ughhh now I'm craving the hot dog again!)
Mom cooks up a variety of home cooked dishes! Make sure you bring enough money with you, because unlike home, Mom charges you for your food, or else you go to the kitchen and do dishes!! ;)
This is our fallback restraunt when everything else is booked. Excellent food with large portions.
Never had a bad meal at this restraunt! Make sure to ask about their specials. The surf & turf(steak & lobster) is excellent!! Also make sure you try the Cheddar Cheese Soup!
Food is always good, and the characters are always fun.
This is a great buffet style restaurant at Animal Kingdom Lodge. It's very popular, so reservations are recommended. The food is totally different from the normal, but not so different that you will have problems finding things you like. being a buffet, there is lots of choice, mainly african inspired dishes. For the unadventurous, there is also a regular American selection of food. Besides the great food, you also get to dine in a truly unique setting of the lodge. The decor and theme is immersive and impressive. If you havnt been to the lodge before, arrive early for you reservation, and take a look around the resort. I highly recommend you visit this restaurant on your next trip!
These are no ordinary fries. They come in a large size, and are pretty much a meal all on their own. You get fries, cheese, lettuce, tomato, bacon and ranch dressing. They are only available from The Pinocchio Village Haus in Fantasyland at the Magic Kingdom. They are a true dining secret of WDW!
I love Figaro Fries. They consist of french fries, cheese sauce, bacon, lettuce, tomato, and ranch dressing. They are great to split with someone as a snack or have an order as a not so healthy but utterly delicious meal.
