The Walt Disney World monorail system is boosting its rider capacity from today as the plexiglass dividers are removed across the fleet.
With the reopening of the parks in June 2020, the monorails operated with just one party per bench within each section with a divider between benches. It then later moved to one party per plexiglass divided module within each cabin, which could mean more than one party per bench.
We now see all plexiglass dividers removed, but boarding is still organized by a Cast Member at the loading area with guests assigned a numbered row to board.
Multiple group are now seated per bench. As an example, two separate individuals may be seated on the same bench.
The new configuration would appear to put the capacity of each monorail cabin at 16 currently. Standing space does not yet appear to be in use, and masks are still required onboard.
