Today, EPCOT guests got their first glimpse of the Voices of Liberty in their brand-new costumes during the opening of the 2025 International Festival of the Arts.
A New Look with Historical Roots
The costumes, influenced by vintage Americana, feature a color palette inspired by an old American flag. While each performer’s attire is slightly different, the overall design emphasizes how their individual voices work together as a group.
The design team aimed to reflect the setting of the American Adventure rotunda while incorporating subtle nods to music and performance. The result is a clean, cohesive look that feels both modern and classic.
Here is a look at the former costume.
Balancing Function and Sustainability
The costumes were made using fabric with over 50% recycled materials, which was custom-dyed for the project. This focus on sustainability didn’t come at the expense of practicality—designers worked closely with the performers to ensure the outfits are comfortable for daily use.
During fittings, the team adjusted the garments to allow for ease of movement. This was especially important for vocal captains, who need extra flexibility in the shoulders and back while conducting.
Now Performing
The new costumes will be worn year-round, with holiday-specific outfits continuing to be used during the festive season. Guests can see the Voices of Liberty daily at the American Adventure pavilion.
