As you can see from my ratings...my wife and I found this resort to be very excellent in every aspect possible. This is the best resort for honeymooners, or just for people looking for a intimate/quiet place to relax. WARNING...this place is so intimate and relaxing that if you are not careful, you may come home with more than just the "little souvenirs" that you bought from the gift shops! :-)
I love Coronado Springs! If you have younger kids and want the Disney characters and things for small kids, this might not be the best resort. However, our family has a 13 year old and 17 years old and we love it! The buses come often and aren't crowded because most conventioners don't use the buses. this is perfect for us because we park hop and spend a lot of time at the park. The pool is amazing, and the resort is beautiful. Perfect for teenagers. LOVE IT!
Having a family of 5 usually makes an on site stay expensive or awkward. Thanks to an AP discount and a very good reservations CM this resort was recommended to me and it didnt disappoint. The check in was fast and efficient, despite the computer glitch that indicated I had yet to pay for the lodging. ( Just as well I took a receipt). I was allocated a cabin on the loop I requested, handy for both pool and Bus stops. speaking of buses i have read many reviews that say the system is confusing but to be honest youre given a map and info on how it works and I thought it worked well. It is after all a VERY large resort. The resort itself is very well appointed the only disappointment being the relatively unthemed pool areas. But they do the job they were designed for and it was a regular after park meeting place for many guests. The cabins were well equipped clean comfortable and ideal for a family with teens. Having a kitchen reduced the costs of resort meals and having a car a trip to Walmart was never a problem. The goods available from the two onsite stores were pricy and limited. A car is a good idea as travel between resorts and any park other than MK can be a drawn out process. Getting the boat to the Magic Kingdom was a treat and there was never a long wait. It was also nice to watch the evening light show on the lagoon. Although we only had two meals at the Trails End Buffet, both were good value and filling. The list of things to do at this resort is extensive, my youngest took in pony trecking while I did the boat thang on the lagoon. Its definately worth programming a day in the schedule to nose around and chill. The staff at Fort Wilderness were some of the best Ive come across in all my trips to Disney and they really did make it feel like a stay at home.
Stayed for 8 days in Oct. 2002. The staff is just wonderful. We had a great time. I feel the best part of the Yacht Club Resort is its proxity to all of WDW, especially, Epcot, Boardwalk, & MGM. The restaurants on location are top-notch too.
A quiet break from all of the hussle of the parks or down town. Has a large will themed main pool with smaller out lying pools. Don't miss the sauna in the lighthouse at the end of a hard day in the parks. a fitness room, childrens play area and tennis and shuffleboard courts are usually available.Bikes, either single or up to 4 people can be rented for the trails arond the area.A MUST STAY every trip.
Excellent resort but the size of this resort cannot be given or expressed through one of those maps. Its a 5 minute walk to anythign WITHIN the resort, like the food court or the bus stop. That and sitting through bus stop after bus stop got old after day 4. On the Plus side, it was very quiet, except for the odd fire engine from RCFD, right down the street. Overall an great experience but a lil too big for me.
The Contemporary is the best resort on Disney property. The view of the Magic Kingdom from the tower rooms is breathtaking. The resort is walking distance from the Magic Kingdom, and just a short monorail ride away from the Polynesian & Grand Floridian resorts and Epcot. The arcade and food center are excellent. The rooms are spacious and very nicely themed. To me, staying at the Contemporary is staying right in the middle of the Disney magic.
My favorite hotel! It's an escape from all of the crowds! You feel very spread out. And the scenery is the best! I can't say enough about this resort! It is my family's #1 pick.
Shades of Green is a lovely resort, no theming but it is very restful after a day at the parks. Also, if you like golf it's right out your front door. Bus transportation is very good and you can always make the 10-15 walk over to the Polynesian to catch the monorail. Has a daybed for a fifth person and rooms are large. Can't wait for it to reopen!
Crowed food court, pool, and buses. It must have been the busiest time for them. Room was small but nice. A nice place to stay but with so many GREAT places to stay at disney it's just average.
The Polynesian has something for just about any type of vacationer: 1. Water activities (boat rental, swimming). 2. Convenience (on the resort monorail line, walking distance to TTC). 3. Great theming/decor/views (waterfalls in the GCH, lush tropical plants everywhere, MK fireworks looked fabulous from our lagoon view room). 4. Large, tastefully decorated rooms. 5. Excellent food at two restaurants and at the dinner Luau show. 6. A fabulous kids' play area / babysitting service - the Neverland Club. The only negatives: 1. The pool area is small. 2. Housekeeping came late (around 3:00pm) the first two days. Not a huge deal, but mid-day is when we like to rest in the room. 3. The service at the 24 hour snack bar was painfully slow during the lunch rush. The negatives pale in comparison to the positives, and this is a top quality resort.
I have stayed here for each of my visits (6) and absolutely love POR (Dixie Landings always in my heart). The only compliant I have is that we always seem to get the farthest room from the main buildings and after a long day at the parks this is just an added frustration winding through the paths to get something to drink or head out for DTD. Other than that, this is the best place to stay. Great price, great service, great pools, and if you don't want to go to the parks there is enough to do here to keep you busy all day long
For us Disney fans that make an annual trek to WDW, the All Star Resorts are a blessing. For a simple vacation, it is everything you need. And with all of the $$ you are spending on airfare, park tickets, food, and shopping, the value of All Star Sports really helps! And of all of the All Star Resorts, Sports is my favorite b/c it's the closest to the parks!!
This would have to be the least favorite of all the resorts I have been to.....and I still enjoyed it. I rate it good overall. My stay was nice. Rooms were a nice size. Pool was nice but nothing out of this world. Enjoyed the location of it....just a boat ride to MK. I think the thing that stands out and best thing for me of this resort is the lobby and the theme was super real. Transportation was not good. You always had to make a stop at Fort Wilderness before going to any park....and again stop there on the way back to your resort...to long of a ride. Still a must do.
Ill start with the bad.....when we came in the Frond Desk Agent was not happy that day or something...because not even a Good Morning was said to us. It was just a bad start. Then we had lunch the following day at Captain Cooks and waited 40 min to get a burger. They had cooked the wrong order for someone and everyones order after that (mine was one of them) was wrong and it became a mess. Now the good: Beautiful resort. I have stayed at a few and this is by far my favorite one. Rooms are HUGE! Lots of space. The view from everyroom is great. The lagoon is nice but you have an island on the lagoon that covers most of the MK which means your view to the castle is blocked. So not worth to pay the extra money for a blocked view. Room service and maid service is A-plus. Pool is a load of fun. Has a slide and all. Beach area is nice I enjoyed it alot. I cant wait to go back.
This is a fantastic Resort. The location is the numberone reason. The best view is towards the Magic Kigndom...but no matter what view you have....its all good. Rooms are a good size and the decor is pretty. The lobby is beautiful. Pool is great and service is A-plus!!!! I enjoyed this resort more because it is old. Its one of the original resort Walt wanted. When I was 6 and we were on the monorail to the MK, i would look at this resort and wanted to stop to see it. Well ir brings back alot of memories. A must!
Wow! from the molment i drove into this resort i felt home. the room was immense (2 bedroom villas) and had enough space so the 5 ppl and a baby staying there were not on top of eachother. transportation was convienient and even though we were far away from the main desk area all we had to do was hop on any disney bus and we would be there in no time. i highly reccomend a visit to "Conch Flats" especiall if you have a large family stayng together and need a kitchen / washer & dryer.
Of all the time shares this is top of the class. There is a no pressure tour to see if it's for you. The different places to stay are endless. It's good to have a places to go year after year.
We stayed in alligator bayou and loved it. I would recomend getting a room in a building close to the lobby and food court. We stayed in building 28...not a tremendous walk but a little much after a day in the parks. We loved the quiet pool.
A good place to visit and walk through but not worth the price for the small room!
it may be just me, but I thought the rooms were quite small and the balconies barely hold one chair, let alone two for us honeymooners.
The All Star Music is a good place to stay if you aren't inclined to spend much time in your room or at your resort, so you don't want to splurge on lodging. It is very spread out, so if you're not able to walk far, or come home tired from commando touring the parks, you'll probably prefer a room nearer to the registration/food court area. But bear in mind that these areas tend to be a lot noisier and more crowded. The rooms are not luxurious, they are more along the lines of a Hojos or Holiday Inn, but they are quite adequate. And the theming is well, kinda loud and bold. Some people would probably say tacky. Bus service is also slower and more crowded. Be prepared for long waits. There is a food court with lots of variety, but the food isn't going to leave you wanting seconds. You can use the $$ you save on lodging to eat out at some of the better restaurants in the more expensive resorts. The swimming pools aren't very elaborate, and they are frequently crowded. Also, one drawback here is that school groups tend to book their stays here. Most of the CMs are very nice, but more than a few of them are just going through the motions. All in all, it's great if you're on a budget or want to spend your money on something other than a hotel room, but if ambiance really matters, go for a moderate resort.
My pregnant wife, 3yo, and I loved this resort. We were in Jamaica and our only complaint was the long walk to the theme pool and food court. The buses ran on time and were very prompt. We never had a problem with our room. Everything was clean. Our 3yo loved the theme pool and the kiddie pool as well as the beachfront in Jamaica. Overall we loved this resort and would stay there again....but will probably try a few others.
I enjoy this resort very much....but....in my opinion, the rooms are a bit too small. They are the size of the moderate resorts. If you have ever stayed in a room there even with the bunk beds...its quite cramped for space. I like to be able to walk around in my room without stubbing a toe or jaming a shin into something. You stick 4 people in a room that size and your asking for trouble...LOL Aside from that...the lobby is to die for. One of my all time favorites!!...by far! Stunning! The pool area is very nice...though the pool could of been a bit larger. The fact that the "waterfalls" begins in the lobby is awesome..great picture spot. The restaurants are wonderful...the Artists Point is terrific as is the other (forgot the name) the family style all you can eat one...always packed...which means its good. Parking is easy to get to and from your car. And the views even from a regular room are breathtaking! We had ducks at our patio door every moring waiting for hand outs..it was like we were in our own animal kingdom...oh and the deer..we saw deer too! I general I love this hotel...but the rooms are a bit cramped.
The Alligator Bayou section is the best of the Riverside resort. There are pools all over the place including one in the center of 'ol man island. Rooms on the corners of buildings have two windows. Most rooms also have two seperate standing sinks and a mirror for each. Just a nice touch to the remoteness of the hotel itself. It may take you a moment or two to get oriented with the area, tha paths and building layout make it seem like a maze inside resort.
A real experience but too pricy for every vacation
This resort is always my family's first choice! We love it there - the cast members are so friendly and make you feel like you are at home. A short walk to Epcot or The Boardwalk. An easy walk or boat to MGM. Beaches and Cream for snacks and the best steaks can be found at The Yachtsman. And what is left to be said about Stormalong Bay (the resort's pool) - it is the best on property. You will not be disappointed.
this is an excellent moderate resort! the pool really does it for me! It isn't my favorite resort but it is the best of the moderate!
I love the theming here! The pool is a great sight to behold! The lobby is a sight in itself! If you haven't stayed in this resort then you have missed out! It is definatly number 1 on my list! check it out!
This is the first All-Star resort I ever stayed at. Oversized everything. The basketball goals make you feel just a few inches high. This is the louder of the All-Star's because of all the kids running around playing various sports on the oversized fields.
Of the All-Stars this one ranks 3rd on my list. Like the others, it has a great theme and value. This resort did not impress me at first like the other All-Stars did. Guess I was jsut expecting more after seeing the others. Service and overall layout are the same here as well.
My favorite of the All-Star Resorts. Buzz and Woddy make you feel like a toy, they are HUGE! Great theme and value. Some theme's include: Toy Story, Fantasia, Herbie: Love Bug, 101 Dalmations and others
My husband and I stayed at the Yacht Club Sept 28-Oct.7, 2002 and absolutely loved it. When we first checked in, we were on the 3rd floor, in a room that was not renovated. I asked if they could move us and they did so w/out any hesitation, our room was 1036, which overlooked the private pool. You can't beat the YC for it's location to Epcot, MGM and the Boardwalk. The buses did stop at the BC, Swan & Dolphin and I think one other hotel, but I'm not sure which one. Sometimes it seemed forever to get anywhere, but all and all the buses weren't too bad. The amenities, such as fitness room, steam room, pool, etc...were wonderful. There were many jacuzzi areas where you could relax after a long day at the parks. There is another jacuzzi in the fitness center that was empty the entire time we were there! I don't think you will go wrong choosing this resort, it's beautiful!
I've stayed @ the Caribbean Beach Resort @ least 10 times...probably more. It's one of the most intimate resorts @ WDW, and the theming is beautiful. It is also a place that hasn't lost against the stronghold of commericialism that I've noticed w/ many of the other hotels and attractions there in the past few years. Definitely a resort I'd recommend to anyone and will be taking family there for as long as it stands. Just remember to ask for the Martinique or Trinidad North, so you'll be close to the Port Royale!
We have stayed at Monorail deluxe resorts before, but they were booked for our trip this time. The reservation taker highly recommended the Yacht Club, especially emphasizing the pool for the kids. Indeed, the pool was great and I couldn't get the kids out of it to go to the parks! Walking to Epcot was wonderful, a great way to sneak over and catch the fireworks without the usual hassle. Boatride to MGM was slow but enjoyable. Room service personnel were gracious and housekeeping did a great job. Now onto the reasons why we won't be staying here again. The check-in and valet service were not up to Disney par. We had to call twice to get our luggage picked up to depart, and when we got to the front our car still wasn't there! We are not normally people who care about such silly things, but when you are paying as much as you pay to stay at this resort you expect at least adequate service (and at the Polynesian have always gotten above and beyond service.)The main reason we will never stay here again is the bus system. We gave the buses several chances to perform and they failed each time! We even missed the hour early opening for resort guests at the Magic Kingdom because the bus was 45 minutes late and took 45 minutes to get to the Magic Kingdom! We timed our trip from Downtown Disney to the return to the Yacht Club and it took an hour and 10 minutes. Unbelieveable but true. There was better bus service at the All Star Resorts when we stayed there. If you are looking just to relax at a good hotel, stay at the Yacht. If you will be visiting any park other than Epcot or MGM, forget this hote.
As a college student, I know that sometimes cash is a little hard to come by. Just think of the Ramen noodles and other cheap foods you live off in times of need. But a vacation to Walt Disney World isn't out of sight, for the All-Star Resorts have very affordable prices. I stayed at the All-Star Music about a year ago and enjoyed it throughly. It's not as cozy as the other resorts. The designs, like the big boots, get quite tacky after a while, but it's still the Disney magic that impresses you. The rooms are nice. For being Disney's cheapest resort, you couldn't tell by the rooms. Well taken care of, themed to the movies of Disney. The swimming is something in need of desperate change. I mean, their is honestly nothing to the pool. The food court is just like every other food court in Disney's existence. Overpriced and half decent. I'd take a drive somewhere and check out other resorts for dining. But overall, very cheap prices, plus you can find some good discounts. Last time I went only $59 a night. Not bad at all!
I have stayed here three times. The feeling the place gives you is worth every dime. The have situated this resert so it gives you the feel of being in the middle of the woods when you are just a half mile away from the contemporary and not much further then the Magic Kingdom. If you stay here dont forget to visit the all you can eat bbq dinner. Lots of fun for the kids too.
I stayed at the one bedroom villa and it was nice. My only problem was with the shower. For the money, I was very dissappointed in it. It was just like a gym or dorm styled stand up shower. I thought it would be nice(like a seperate glass one or something) but with a rustic feel but that was not the case. The resort overall is awesome and so relaxing. You really feel like you are worlds away when you are there. The theming is so great! You can hear cricket churping(sp) and it has awesome music playing all the time. I would highly recommend this resort.
I had gone to the Caribbean Beach and Grand Floridian before this and coming here for the first time I was a little relunctant to go. But years after 1996, we have always gone to Old Key West. Not that I don't want to go to other resort hotels but this is definitely one of the best if not the best out there.
This is the best hotel at disney. I was one of the first persons to stay here and it was great. The themeing is unlike any other disney resort it is awesome. The pool is the only thing i didn't really enjoy here (kinda dull). The price is right for this hotel too you dont have to fork over 350 for this one it was only 175 for me. 5 stars
We have stayed at this resort two years in a row now and always have a great time. This last time we stayed at the Trinidad North complex which was right next to Old Port Royale (the central hub) and it was so nice to just hop next door whenever you wanted to get some food, or pick up your shopping from the parks, or even just to get a soda with the refillable mugs. I loved the theme of the resort, each complex is like a different tropical island and the colors are very fun. It was very nice to walk around the bay and even have fun on the mini-beaches they have surrounding it. Each complex has their own pool but there is also a larger one at Old Port Royale that is more for kids. The only complaint I have is that I wish each pool had a hot tub, but you can't win them all!
This hotel is great! I stayed a little less then a year ago and, the rooms are very nice but I had to walk about 1/3 mile just to get to it. The price I thought was a little high the room was nice but not $350 nice. I would have moved hotels if I wasnt a cast member so I only paid 175. The Boardwalk was great though being out there at Dusk was just breathtaking. The Boardwalk has some great resturants on it (ESPN,Fishbones,Jellyrolls, etc.) The pool was just ok but across the way was the stromalong bay at the beach club which is a great pool so just take a little walk. The location is also great 1 mins to MGM (bus), 5mins to epcot (walk), and about 10 to Magic Kingdom (bus).
We have stayed at the Port Orleans (french quarter) twice now. we love it! The rooms are nicely decorated, the grounds are beautiful, and the pool is awesome. We love to take the water taxi to Downtown Disney in the evenings. It is very relaxing and peaceful. Although it can get a little chilly in the cooler parts of the year. Because of the smaller size of the resort we have never had long lines checking in or out. We have also found any requests for housekeeping to be done in a timely and pleasant manner. We would reccomend this resort to anyone who is looking to get away from it all!
My family and I have stayed with Caribbean Beach for 12 separate vacations, sometimes getting as much as 7 rooms for "gatherings." It is a beautifully themed tropical retreat for the body, senses, and mind. It is a real fun place to stay because there is so much to do, from fitness activities, to boating, volleyball, biking, and playing. The promenade around the lake is beautiful and great for working out, and really submerses one into the lush theme. It is conveniently located for short bus rides, and you don't feel separated at this moderate like some of the others--Illuminations can be seen for the most part, as well as SpaceShip Earth from most points of the Resort. You feel very connected, yet so far away from everything else. The Resort is very large too, yet that is a turn on for us as we love to explore and get caught in the mood/theme. We stayed once at Dixie Landings and Walt Disney World DOLPHIN, and they were just not the same. They miss the color and the vibrance that only Caribbean Beach has. (They were both nice, however.) And after CBR full scale renovations, the Resort is better than it has ever been, with new room furnishings, a new foodcourt, new plants/theming, and a "privacy curtain" within the room that helps with early morning shower/cahnging schedules. The new stuff is great. The best island to stay at is ARUBA, you over look the marina and all the color that is Old Port Royale. It is also more quiet on the opposite side of the lake, and you get to walk over the awesome double wooden bridges and traverse through Parrot Cay Island, one of the prettiest areas, especially at night with the mood lighting and exotic sights and sounds. The flora and fauna here are great. Caribbean Beach is a top notch facility so be happy that you are staying there! B/c I'm jealous...
I'm pleased with this resort. Rooms are large. Walking distance from Trinidad North, Martinique, and Barbados is very short and a quick trip. The food court has above average food. The pizza is very good as well. The resort is fairly quiet. Bus transportation was good for the size of the resort. One thing that is a negative in my view is that the sidewalks are winding. I had to go out of the way to get to where I wanted to go unless I wanted to go through the brush. Most of the brush needs trimming because it is starting to creep into the sidewalks.
I love this resort. I stayed here over the Christmas holidays (Dec. 26 2002-Jan. 1 2003)and I didn't want to leave. I wish that I would have had more time to just wander and explore the hotel. I thought it would be an hour or two of exploring at most, but I think it could easily take days. My room was spacious for two large people and a lot of stuff and had plenty of room to get around. If you can afford it stay here. I'm going to try and time my next visit during value season so I can get an even better deal. I had a pool view and wish I had forked over the money for a savanna view.
