Disney PhotoPass is expanding its "Capture Your Moment" experience at Magic Kingdom to include Fantasyland beginning May 1 2023.

Capture Your Moment in Fantasyland

After checking in for this experience inside Sir Mickey’s, your photographer can help you choose a photo prop and your capture locations, including the backside of Cinderella Castle, Prince Charming Regal Carrousel, Rapunzel’s tower, Prince Eric’s castle, Storybook Circus, Belle and Maurice’s cottage, outside Beast’s castle, around the Mad Tea Party, and more. While you’re guaranteed one photo location per session, most sessions end up visiting a few locations to take photos. After being escorted to your chosen location, you’ll have up to 20 minutes to capture photos.

Capture Your Moment in Fantasyland

Each Capture Your Moment session is $99 and can include up to eight guests. Photos are not included with the price of a session. However, those with a Disney PhotoPass entitlement such as Memory Maker or Memory Maker One Day, as well as qualifying Annual Passholders with a Disney PhotoPass download benefit, can download the photos taken during Capture Your Moment at no extra cost. You can also opt to purchase photos individually.

Bookings for Capture Your Moment in Fantasyland will open April 24, with sessions offered daily starting May 1. Bookings can be made up to 60 days in advance, and advance reservations are strongly recommended. A limited number of same-day reservations may be available; to inquire, check the My Disney Experience app.

We did photopasses the first few years we were there, but that was about it.

We went over to the Haunted Mansion on our session, but the sun that time of day is right in your eyes out front, so hard to get any good photos. We did take some in the extended queue without anyone else in them.

That kills it for us. It costs them virtually nothing to provide downloads.

I can see scenarios (family reunions, weddings, etc) where this would be genuinely helpful. I just wish Disney realised it feels scummy to charge for these services but not include prints.

DCL uses a third party photo provider on their ships. I don't think they print out all the pictures anymore. They are all digitally tied to your room card. They do sell a few different packages. 15, 20, 30 and unlimited but they are very pricey. You can either get them digitally or in print. It was funny that the print package was cheaper than the digital package.

Many people already are happy to pay the $159 for all the photos from their trip as they go to character meets etc. This is an add-on to that really.

Sorry, but I have trouble envisioning a "need" to pay someone $50 or $100 to take photos of my family that I'll have to pay even more to download and print.

It's a money grab but not any more than $99/head to eat a few treats and watch some fireworks from a roped off area surrounded by people who paid nothing. People will pay to save time. The market for proposals, anniversaries, sweet 16s, etc is worth Disney tapping into. People will also pay, within reason, for something more set-up than hoping to grab a random photographer. And the price isnt bad. Good luck finding a photographer to come to the park for $50. But the pricing is weird, you'd think they could upsell more easily do something like 20 mimutes $50, 40 minutes $80. Unless they instruct CMs to stop taking free photos, this fits a need without taking anything away from others.
