Details on the Israel exhibit at the Millennium Village

JERUSALEM (AP) - Disney's Florida theme park is putting Israel at the center of its millennium exhibit. Displaying a model of the Israel Pavilion that will highlight Epcot Center's Millennium Village in Orlando, Walt Disney World Corp. Vice President George Kalogridis said the 2400-square-foot exhibit will display Israel's history as well as its technology, agriculture and Hebrew language.

Through a pathway lined with white Jerusalem stones, guests will enter a huge stone structure replicating the walls of Jerusalem's old city. Theater seats that move in coordination with video presentations will take visitors on a simulated tour of Jerusalem through different historical periods.

Israel's foreign ministry, which contributed $1.8 million to the project, said it hoped the exhibit would encourage visitors to come to Israel in the year 2000.

Disney said in a statement that the video presentations will highlight Jerusalem's importance to Judaism, Islam and Christianity ``while at the same time emphasizing the centrality'' of the disputed city to the Jewish people.
