Disney Imagineers have installed an EarthCam Timelapse camera to capture the transformation of the former Dino-Rama area into the upcoming Tropical Americas land at Disney's Animal Kingdom. The camera is mounted on top of the former Dinosaur Treasures building, providing a wide-angle view of the active construction site.
This isn't the first time Disney has used EarthCam technology to document large-scale projects. Similar cameras have been set up for past multi-year expansions, providing behind-the-scenes glimpses into the construction of major attractions and lands. The footage captured is often used in promotional materials and updates, showcasing progress over time.
While much of the Dino-Rama section is being demolished to make way for new experiences, the Dinosaur Treasures building will remain as part of the land's redevelopment, rethemed to fit the Tropical Americas aesthetic.
Disney has not yet shared if or when the timelapse footage will be made available to the public, but it could provide an interesting look at the land's evolution as construction ramps up in the coming months.
Visible progress has slowed this week compared to the hive of activity in the first week. Triceratop Spin continues to be dismantled rather than demolished, suggesting that the ride system will be repurposed or sold.
