Disney has updated its mask policy beginning today for Walt Disney World Cast Members, allowing those who are fully vaccinated to discontinue the use of face coverings, whether indoors or outdoors.
Following the similar guest policy introduced earlier in the month, Cast Members are still required to wear masks when using Disney transportation.
In addition to the new mask policy, Cast Members are also allowed to handle guest's personal items, including cameras and maps. Those Cast Members working at point-of-sale registers can also now opt out of using secondary protection, which includes the plexiglass barriers.
Disney will once again be relying on the honor system to determine who is fully vaccinated, and they will require Cast Members to sign onto the policy to remove masks.
These changes come as Disney continues to transition Walt Disney World away from the COVID-19 mitigation phase towards something approaching a normal state of operations.
