Disney announces more Walt Disney World Resort hotel reopenings

Disney has today announced more reopening dates for its resort hotels at Walt Disney World.

July 10 - Disney's Animal Kingdom Villas - Jambo House, Disney's Pop Century Resort, Disney's Contemporary Resort
July 29 - Disney's Caribbean Beach Resort
August 12 - Disney's Polynesian Village Resort and Disney's Art of Animation Resort
August 24 - Disney's Yacht & Beach Club Resorts
September 21 - Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa
October 1 - Disney's BoardWalk Resort
October 14 - Disney's Coronado Springs Resort

With regard to the hotels not listed, Disney has said "Given the current situation, there are some Disney Resort hotels and other areas that are not, as of this time, being scheduled for reopening yet. We will continue to evaluate the situation and reopen more locations when the environment is right to do so. While these plans may evolve, we will be monitoring the constantly changing health environment and its impact on the state of Florida as we find the right time to welcome back even more of our Guests."

These new reopening dates come in addition to the DVC resorts below which will reopen on June 22:

Copper Creek Villas & Cabins at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge
Disney’s Animal Kingdom Villas – Kidani Village

Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort
Disney’s Old Key West Resort
Disney’s Polynesian Villas & Bungalows
Disney’s Riviera Resort
Disney’s Saratoga Springs Resort
The Villas at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort

We have two kids and have stayed in both Sports and Movies with them. When we stayed in Sports, my youngest was a baby and was in a crib. We rented a full size crib and set it up in front of the window. There was plenty of room. We also had a double stroller and kept it open, parked between the door and bed. When we went back 3 1/2 years later, we had a refurbished room at Movies. We brought a blow up toddler size air mattress for my youngest, now 4. The only place it fit was in front of the door. So every day we had to stand it up and lean it against the window then lay it down and remake it ever night. We also had a single stroller that didn’t fit open in the room so we had to fold it and slide it under the bed every night. So with the two queens, it was definitely a tighter squeeze but it worked.

One of the queen beds is a pull down table/bed combo.

Yes. 2 Queens have already been done at the other values. It's just more narrow between the bathroom wall and the bed and also in between the two beds.

Staying at Sports in September will be interesting to see what the room is like... although I'm not really bothered either way.

Is there even room for queen beds? From what I remember from my stay years ago, the door pretty much opened right up to the bed. I can't imagine that they can fit in queen beds in those rooms.

How about the stars? Ps these are the original comforters with Disney characters playing sports. The ones you show are from the first hard goods in the 2000s

People whine about most of the recent renovations. They should be jumping for joy about this. Half of us would wet ourselves if the themed, starchy ‘90s comforters returned. ~swoons~

Surprised they reopened it with the rooms in such a state. New carpets and pillows isn't enough to cover up the dirty 90s look. The positive side of me hopes it was just due to needing the capacity but realistically its going to have been a "Meh, people will still pay for it" moment.
