Disney launches new vacation gifting site

Disney has today launched GiveDisneyVacations.com - a new way to gift someone something as little as a $25 gift card, all the way through to an Adventures by Disney vacation or membership with Disney Vacation Club.

You could gift someone a stay at Copper Creek Villas and Cabins at Disney's Wilderness Lodge

Arriving at the site, you can choose from Disney Gift Cards, Theme park tickets, and entire vacations with Adventures by Disney, Aulani, Disney Cruise Line, Disneyland Resort, Disney Vacation Club and Walt Disney World Resort.

As a special introductory offer, available now through November 15 2017, you can purchase a special Walt Disney World Resort package for any time during the 2018 calendar year. The package consists of a 6-Night/7-Day room and ticket package at one of Disney's All-Star Resorts for $96 per person, per night. The resort package will be delivered in a special holiday gift box, and delivery is guaranteed before December 15 2017.

I just gifted my son and his girlfriend 4 days and 3 nights at the Poly and in the parks. There is a grand baby in the future and hopefully they will really enjoy this before all the responsibilities of parenthood hit. I was so glad I could do it this way, I wanted them to spend as little money as possible. Yes a gift card would have worked, but this allowed me to pay for their room, dining and park admission. I think it is a useful thing to use. They are traveling from Indiana and I sent him a $200 gas card along with a $400 visa pre paid to get what they want. Disney can't cover it all, but the ability to do this was cool. Very easy to choose the options.

I was hoping there would be a way to add spending to their package. We want to give my niece and nephew some spending for their trip and it would be so convenient to add it like on board credit for a cruise. Maybe they do this because I lose interest and don't finish reading.

Years and years ago a friend of mine at their wedding had a Disney 'Wedding Registry' where you could buy meals, drinks, etc for the couple. As far as this. This is a good way to increase revenue. Doesn't feel like a money grab. Doesn't monetize things that used to come with the high admission price. Credit where credit is due. This is good.

I can definitely see this as an easy thing for someone to forward to grandparents or aunts, etc. to make it easy for them to buy a Disney gift for Christmas or birthday, etc. It doesn’t happen to me, but I know a couple who met us there recently, and one of their aunts paid for the whole trip.

Honestly, I've seen lots of people on different forums saying that their parents or grandparents were paying for their trips. Apparently I need new parents/grandparents because I'm lucky to get $50 from either :D jk
