The National Hurricane Center is currently tracking Tropical Depression Nine which may be of concern to Florida next week.
The current forecast suggests a possibility of landfall as a category 3 hurricane on the west coast of Florida on Wednesday morning, but high winds would arrive as early as Monday.
The Hurricane Center notes that "at this juncture forecast uncertainty remains fairly high."
The Atlantic hurricane season is officially June 1 to November 30, and the peak period for severe weather is from mid-August to mid-October.
