A strong cold front is forecast to move through the Walt Disney World theme park area on Tuesday, January 9, carrying a threat of severe weather.
The National Weather Service reports that a band of strong to severe storms capable of producing damaging wind gusts and the potential for a few tornadoes is forecast to move rapidly across the peninsula late Tuesday afternoon and evening.
Locally damaging wind gusts up to 70 mph are possible, with sustained winds of 22 mph.
The NWS says that confidence in both the timing and potential for strong to severe thunderstorms with this system continues to increase.
Disney has yet to make any operational changes at Walt Disney World, and all parks are currently planned to operate normally
