Lettuce Entertain You Restaurants has announced that it will open a 'Summer House on the Lake' restaurant in Walt Disney World at Disney Springs in 2023.

This is the same restaurant group that initially planned to open one of its Beatrix restaurants on the site of the former Bongo's restaurant in 2020.

'Summer House on the Lake' will be positioned alongside the lake between Jaleo and Food Truck Park.

The Disney Springs location will be the third 'Summer House on the Lake' location, joining those in Chicago and North Bethesda.

Here is how the official website describes the restaurant, "The California-inspired menu, led by Chef Ben Goodnick, features simple ingredients sourced from local grower partnerships and sustainable products. Rosé is poured all day off the signature Rosé Cart, alongside an extensive wine and handcrafted cocktail list. And no matter the weather, the bright and airy vibes always fill the atmosphere. Whether you're in for date night, a family get-together, or brunch with friends, summer is waiting for you on the other side."

Menu items include California-inspired dishes, salads, sandwiches pastas, pizza, vegetables, cocktails, mocktails, wine, and draft beer.

Here is a look at the Chicago menu for an idea of what to expect from the menu at the 'Summer House on the Lake' Disney Springs location.

Bongo's is way more interesting theming wise than this boring rich person's house motif.

FWIW, i've found Summer House to be the most unremarkable of the Lettuce Entertain You restaurants i've been at. RPM Italian and their Mediterranean concept Aba are both excellent.

it happened, and they sold the product....Why it happened would have to do with management, staffing, and ability to assess whether the product was fresh or not.... I would not immediately jump to blame the customer because of the time they bought them... Plain and simple, if the product suffers from buying after a certain amount of time has passed, don't sell the product... or sell it at a discount.....That is the whole reason bakeries used to sell Day Old products at half price....and the customer knows they are getting not-so-fresh product and won't be disappointed.... I kind of doubt they would actually carry over product from another day, but ultimately it all goes back to the restaurant...

I wasn't excusing it, just trying to understand why it might have happened.

who cares if it is end of day, if they are selling the product it should be fresh...Usually cookies will hold up for many many hours.... If they were stale, they should not have been sold. Another way of blaming the guest for lousy product....

The restaurant group that runs it is usually great. It's fine, but not at the boathouse level. And for the price, it should be.

So this is another thing the influencers raved about and ended up not being worth it? Good to know because I wanted to try it. We will stick with the tried and true. Can't go wrong with City Works and Boathouse.

The appetizers and salad we had were very good but the cookies were just average. We'd go back but skip cookies.

What was wrong with the entrees? What time were you purchasing the cookies? Was it at the end of the day? Maybe they have been sitting out too long and have gotten stale.

I agree. We ate here this past week for dinner and a brunch. Although not bad there are so many better places in the springs. We got a couple cookies to go and they were just ok.

We've eaten here twice. The first time we had salads and they were incredibly flavorless and boring. The second time we purchased special seating for the drone show. While the view of the drones was great, neither of us even finished our entrees they were so terrible. Will NOT be back. Even the bakery is hit or miss. Sometimes the cookies are fresh and delicious and sometimes they are hard and stale.

After a recent update, reservations at Summer House on the Lake can now be made directly through the Walt Disney World website or My Disney Experience. Previously reservations had to be made through OpenTable.

Quick Cookie Bar Review: Made a stop over at the Cookie bar on 1/4, and from my very quick stop I was impressed. For a rather busy, end of the holiday season rush at Springs, we waited only a minute until we were able to choose our cookies, compared to the much longer line we saw at Gideon's. I ordered the Birthday Cake cookie and my girlfriend ordered the Double Chocolate Cloud and they were both really good, mine tasted like a larger Publix cookie (which isn't an insult at all), and hers was basically a big brownie. With the fast service and amazing tasting cookies, I highly recommend anyone give it a try when at Springs. Definitely makes me want to eat at the restaurant even more!

Went here last night. For a first week experience it actually wasn’t too bad. You could tell they still have their sea legs but we were done in about an hour and 10 minutes. I had the chicken breast with mashed potatoes which was good. They seasoned it well and it was a large piece of chicken. The mashed potatoes however were absolutely stupendous. 10/10. We also tried the guacamole and chips, which was made fresh and very good, just had to add a little salt. They ran out of chocolate chip cookies, so I ordered a peanut butter cookie with ice cream on top. It was fantastic! Easily the best cookies at WDW. I look forward to eventually trying the chocolate chip. As for the prices, for a vacation destination, it is not bad. I certainly expect some adjustments to the menu after they see what’s popular and what’s not. They were also out of cheese puffs, corn bread, and steak tips I believe.
