Disney has shared a new construction update on the new World of Frozen land coming to Hong Kong Disneyland in the second half of 2023, including a sneak-peek of an impressive Elsa audio-animatronic figure.

The world’s first Frozen-themed land will be home to two new attractions, Frozen Ever After and the first-of-its-kind Frozen-themed family-friendly roller coaster Wandering Oaken’s Sliding Sleighs.

In the drone video of the construction site below, you can see the entire themed land is a recreation of the kingdom of Arendelle, drawing upon the natural landscape of Lantau Mountain behind Hong Kong Disneyland as a backdrop.

In this second video, Disney shows off its latest audio-animatronic, a life-size Elsa.

Walt Disney Imagineering collaborated with Walt Disney Animation Studios to ensure that every detail of these characters feels like they’ve stepped right out of the movie.

World of Frozen is expected to open in the second half of 2023 at Hong Kong Disneyland.

I think they can expand TSL with Toy Story Mania and Alien Saucers there (the land needs some indoor attractions) But I guess HKDL / SAR government may want something more exclusive Or they may consider using the pad as possible frozen land expansion if the sequels are well received (?)

What about that plot of land between TSL and WOF?

Not in favor at all of taking it out. Just pointing out that the theater is sitting on a huge plot of land. HKDL has a lot of underdeveloped backstage. I would take out Philharmagic though and move Wondrous Book into the Fantasyland theater.

The pavilion meanwhile is and isn’t part of the biggest expansion plot the park has left though

The Pavilion? Yes. But that is used for park and corporate events, they use it for like winter merchandise markets and the Cruella fashion show in Halloween

Isn’t there a plot that the event space next to FotLK is partly taking up?

Nooooo Festival of Lion King is an essential part of HKDL, its been there since opening day..

Why would you want to take out the best show in end park and the current most popular attraction in the park as well

LameBoi1 day ago

You can take out Lion King, Duffy flex space, Tahitian Terrace and and the Marketplace to create a massive plot.

I doubt it. Not with the BOH so near.

If they remove the River View Cafe, the available area would be around 2500 sq meters approx (it's hard to measure with all the foliage). It's not a huge place, but enough for a small attraction (something like the traditional Fantasyland darkrides or Ant Man could fit in.
