Downtown Disney District at Disneyland Resort is set to welcome several new dining and shopping experiences in the coming months.

Avengers Reserve Shop

This winter, Downtown Disney will introduce the Avengers Reserve, a new shop dedicated to the fandom of Marvel's Avengers. This store will offer a variety of merchandise, including collectibles, apparel, accessories, toys, and comics. Avengers Reserve aims to appeal to fans of all ages with a curated assortment of products that celebrate the stories and characters of Earth's Mightiest Heroes.

D-Lander Shop

Also debuting this winter is the D-Lander Shop, a boutique that will feature Southern California-inspired fashion. The shop will offer a collection of trend-forward apparel, accessories, and jewelry, providing a new shopping destination for Disneyland fans looking for stylish, themed merchandise.

Disney Wonderful World of Sweets

Marceline's Confectionery, a popular spot for sweets and treats, is undergoing a transformation. This winter, it will reopen as the Disney Wonderful World of Sweets, an expanded shop featuring a variety of candies, churro toffee, caramel apples, sour balls, lollipops, and freshly made Werther's Original Caramel popcorn. Visitors will have the opportunity to watch confections being made from an exhibition kitchen that will be visible from the promenade. In the meantime, guests can enjoy treats from the Marceline's Confectionery cart, which will continue to operate during the renovation.

Kawaii Slime Cart

A new addition this fall is the Kawaii Slime Cart, which will offer a range of slimes in various textures, colors, and scents. This cart, brought by a mom-owned business, will provide a playful shopping experience for visitors, allowing them to explore a variety of slime concoctions and toys.

New Restaurants by Chef Joe Isidori

Two new restaurants, a steakhouse and a barbecue eatery, are being planned for Downtown Disney District by Michelin-starred Chef Joe Isidori. The steakhouse will feature a sophisticated atmosphere with a menu that includes prime cuts of beef, fresh seafood, sandwiches, and salads. A selection of cocktails will also be available for bourbon and mixology enthusiasts.

Adjacent to the steakhouse, the barbecue spot will offer a quick-service experience with traditional barbecue dishes like pulled pork, beef brisket, and smoked wings, all featuring unique spices and house-made sauces. The restaurant will also have an outdoor bar serving craft beers and moonshine cocktails. Both restaurants will be located on the former site of Tortilla Jo's.

The Carnaby Tavern by Earl of Sandwich

Earl of Sandwich is expanding its presence in Downtown Disney with a new concept called The Carnaby Tavern. Set to open above the new Earl of Sandwich location, The Carnaby Tavern will be inspired by the swinging '60s British Invasion. The restaurant will feature a patio with an indoor/outdoor bar, offering a new table service dining experience for visitors. The existing Earl of Sandwich on the east side of the district is set to close in 2025 to make way for Porto's Bakery.

Really kicking into gear now.

Kale and Brussels sprout salad at GG’s had two half pieces of Brussels sprouts for $16, and $6 extra to add protein. It’s such a ripoff. Chicken sandwich was alright, but $8 alright, not worth $18. Sandwiches were too sweet and not spicy, chicken was juicy but over breaded. It’s almost convinced me that the influencer's got completely different samples and that’s why they were raving about it.

It seems criminal. It's a chicken sandwich. I go to Chick-Fil-A about once per month, and it's fabulous. But for $40?? No way. Looking online at current Orange County prices for Chick-Fil-A, here's the cost of the similar menu at the OC Chick-Fil-A that I used to go to over the freeway from my old place... One Chicken Sandwich with complimentary zesty buffalo sauce One Large size Waffle Fries with complimentary ranch sauce One Large Strawberry-Lemonade freshly made frosted drink Total including tax = $15.11 You can save a couple bucks by going for the medium size waffle fries and not adding strawberries to your frosted lemonade. But in general, it's 15 bucks for the same chicken sandwich meal that would cost you $40 at GG's at Downtown Disney.

This meal looks better and better all the time.

Oh he said Galactic Grill. I assumed he said Black Tap since we we were talking about DTD. Although I should have known since those burgers are more in the $20 range IIRC and I believe they come with fries.

Seoul Sister, $20- 3 pieces of pork belly.

But the burgers at Galactic Grill include fries, and they’re still $1.50 cheaper. If the chicken included fries, I think it would be much more comparable.

Just FYI, its $12 for a Frozen Lemonade, not a regular lemonade. I know that doesn't make it better, but its at least a bit more reasonable when you're considering its a frozen drink rather than a fountain drink. If that is still too much, go next door to Seoul Sister where they have $5 Yuja Lemonade.

Interesting. I guess I just assumed this food hall would have a ton of seating. I’m realizing now it’s part of what I was looking forward to — a low-stakes place in DTD to just sort of hang out.

The setup reminds me of a college dining hall. So yeah, I think it's geared at young 20-35-somethings meeting at the park.

Yeah I think the $12 lemonade is what throws things off. $13–16 for a good quality burger or chicken sandwich isn’t bad. Take out the lemonade, share two fries instead of 4 and it’s about what I’d expect for a quick service meal at DTD.

I just checked for fun, and a burger at Galactic Grill costs between $13-16. I think this price is about what I would expect given the cost of things throughout the resort and that it's a bit more elevated (it's close to LA pricing, depressingly enough). I'm also probably not going to get food here, but the pricing isn't that surprising.

Kind of makes me wonder who Disney is catering to here? Maybe the group of young adult friends where everyone is paying for themselves? Definitely not families. I’m not paying $100 -$150 for a quick service chicken sandwich meal. I’ll spend that on a sit down meal where I can be served and relax.
