The Walt Disney World parking trams at EPCOT and Disney's Hollywood Studios remain mothballed, despite Disney's announcement that trams would return by the end of 2022.
Disney has not given any public reason for parking tram services remaining unavailable, but continued cost-saving measures are believed to be the primary reason.
Disney announced in December 2021 that parking trams would be returning to service at the Walt Disney World theme parks in a phased reopening starting at Magic Kingdom in December 2021, followed by the remaining parks throughout 2022. Service resumed at Disney's Animal Kingdom on May 27 2022
Until December 2021, parking trams were out of service at all four Walt Disney World theme parks since they reopened in July 2020 due to physical distancing requirements and labor shortages. Guests are still required to walk from their cars to the main entrances at both EPCOT and Disney's Hollywood Studios.
Lack of tram service has been a source of a great deal of guest complaints, and even reached late night TV with Stephen Colbert mocking Disney for not providing the service to its guests.
