Disney has today announced its plans to refurbish its World of Disney stores at both Walt Disney World and Disneyland Resort.
At Disney World, the Disney Springs World of Disney will begin its transformation in mid-February 2018. Work will be continued throughout 2018, but the store will remain partially open during the work. The Disney Corner, located just across from The Polite Pig, will open mid-February to house some of the displaced product from the World of Disney during the refurbishment.
Details on the redevelopment are scarce, with Disney describing the renovations as "Guests will discover the products they love from Disney Parks in a dynamic and distinctly Disney retail environment."
Our sources have indicated that the new look store will be much more modern, with a look more in keeping with UNIQLO that the current themed environment. Also expect to see elements of the new Disney Store prototypes incorporated into World of Disney.
