From the Estée Lauder Companies' family of brands, Jo Malone London will open in the Town Center at Disney Springs later this year.

Jo Malone London is a British lifestyle brand known for its unique fragrance portfolio and luxury products for the bath, body and home.

The new store will replace the recently closed Origins, which Estée Lauder Companies Inc also operates.

Whoever would pay that much for a candle is an idiot.

They've definitely been successful with the direction of DS. As other retail centers are struggling to stay relevant, DS is kicking out under-performing vendors. Sounds successful to me, regardless of what I think of the stores that exist.

I don't understand why we're talking about what Disney Springs "should be" when it's clearly a very nice, mid-luxury shopping center aimed at tourists. That's not changing anytime soon. Do people realize that not everything has to be aimed at them to be successful?

Special doesn't have to mean luxury...and the term "Luxury" is subjective... I would not call Ulta Cosmetic or Tommy Bahama "Luxury Stores" though I suppose some peole would because they are more expensive than Target/WalMart type stores... Disney Springs should be unique shopping and dining... places you could not go otherwise... Blaze Pizza and Chicken Guy... too known and commercial... Should be original shops and restaurants...or at the least, tiny chains that are unique and special in their own right...Like Gideons Bakehouse or perhaps Sprinkles Cupcakes... That is what made shopping at Lake Buena Vista special... If all the stores are The Gap, Anthropoligie, Pandora, Coach, Ulta...these are all stores I could go to within a 20 minute drive...way less crowded and probably a little less money. Entertainment Shopping (Which is what this is) should be special and unique... Not the same shops from you home town...

Is the the special nice mall or a special Luxury Market? IMO, any store in DS should be aimed at middle-class families. All I know is that I don't think I'm allowed in a store that sells $68 candles! 🤣

If you are really shopping luxury good, Bergdorf Goodman has candles well into the hundreds... But Disney Springs is not really aimed at the Luxury market... They also should not be aimed at "Your local nice mall" stores... Disney shopping should be special...not the usual...

Well, I know I don't. A $68 candle? Really? Is that made up or real?

StitchonApr 07, 2022

This is an absolutely astonishing comment. $68 candles belong in an outlet mall? Y'all really do not get the luxury business at all.

Great, another store that should be at a Outlet Mall.

What they really need to add is a Dollar Tree and one of those climate controlled Store-Alls.

Honestly, this is a fairly good get for Disney Springs. It'll be Jo Malone's first standalone store in the market. I'm interested in seeing how it performs - $70 candles do seem like a stretch for Disney Springs customers compared to handbags or clothes. I do think it's hysterical when posters constantly speak as though they know anything about the retail industry and how a store will perform at Disney Springs. You'd think the fairly low turnover of tenancy, the caliber of recent additions, and the general success of the development would convince people that their tastes do not mirror the customers that actually shop there.
