Creature Comforts at Disney's Animal Kingdom will be closing next year to be converted into a quick service restaurant.
Cast Members have been notified that Creature Comforts will be closing in January 2015, just under a year from now, and will reopen in the summer of 2015. No details about the specific plans have been made available, although Disney's Animal Kingdom is still awaiting its Starbucks location.
Creature Comforts is located in Discovery Island just before the entrance to Africa, bringing lots of foot traffic past the building as guests head to Kilimanjaro Safaris. Its size and location would seem to make it an ideal Starbucks candidate.
Along with selling a range of plush and other gifts, Creature Comforts is currently also serving as a MyMagic+ service center for assisting guests with FastPass+.
