As the December 2024 opening of the Island Tower at Disney's Polynesian Villas & Bungalows draws closer, new details have been unveiled about a series of exclusive terrace gardens. These tropical hideaways, reserved for Island Tower guests, are themed to represent the islands of Bora Bora, Hawai?i, Samoa, and Fiji.

Each of the four terrace gardens is designed to evoke the spirit of its namesake island. Guests can explore the vibrant artwork and lush foliage that characterize the gardens, creating a unique sense of place within each terrace. The themed seating areas, inspired by the islands of Bora Bora, Hawai'i, Samoa, and Fiji, provide a comfortable and tranquil environment for families to gather and unwind.

One of the standout features of these terrace gardens is their location and the views they offer. Positioned on different sides of the Island Tower, the terraces provide panoramas of Disney's Oak Trail and Magnolia Golf Courses on one side and the iconic Seven Seas Lagoon on the other. For those looking to enjoy a magical moment, the terraces offer a vantage point for viewing the nightly fireworks display from Magic Kingdom.

I stayed at the Poly in December and May. You really don't see the new building from most of the resort.

I'm just thankful we don't have to see it from Grand Floridian resort and we can experience The Polynesian still without having to see it if we wanted. Has it impacted what was once a peaceful quiet beautiful walking path with just you and the sound of nothing just of a monorail passing by in a while...yes

If your Carribbean room had a view of it, I'd understand, you could easily get another room in another area of the resort if that was the case. There are plenty of room areas that is tucked away if you want that Carribbean escape.

💯To me also! I agree it really brought a new destination ambience place for the Epcot resort area and has helped bring an easier way of transportation to Carribbean Beach to the parks and back and also for Art of Animation/PoP for sure.

The poly and the grand flo never blended together either. I like looking at the Riviera last time I was in CBR.

We stayed at the Riviera their opening year. We had a 3 br villa. I will say the room was immense, and very beautifully done. I will also say that there was no discernable theme whatsoever. It looked like any nice hotel. The "Riviera" theme means absolutely nothing. The restaurant is nice...not a stand out...not memorable. Contemporary interior... The skyliner was nice except for the transfer to get to DHS which was ridiculous...(it was morning and the lines to transfer were nuts)...all in all, it felt very cut off from everything else... Didn't really offer anything remarkable, and we all decided it was a one and done... yes, the room was beautiful, and everything is fine... Just not someplace any of us connected to. Perhaps if they had added some real placemaking and theme to the property...if there were some engaging entertainment...I don't know... It just didn't feel Disney... It didn't feel special.... It felt like staying at any corporate Marriott hotel USA.
