Posted: Wednesday January 19, 2022 10:31am ET by WDWMAGIC Staff

With the official opening of Star Wars Galactic Starcruiser just over a month away, work is wrapping up inside Star Wars Galaxy's Edge on the special entrance for visiting travelers from the Halcyon.

The entrance is located next to First Order Cargo across from the Milk Stand, and will be used by Galactic Starcruiser guests for the included excursion to Batuu.

In sample itineraries, the trip to Batuu takes place on day 2 of the voyage, with the transport shuttle leaving at 8:15am. The stay on Batuu includes a ride on Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance and Millenium Flacon: Smugglers Run, followed by lunch at Docking Bay 7 Food and Cargo. The return shuttle to the starcruiser is at 12:40pm.

Disney has developed a special transport shuttle that will include onboard screens to block the view backstage and to continue the story of the Star Wars adventure during the short ride from the Starcruiser building to Disney's Hollywood Studios.

The maiden voyage on Star Wars Galactic Starcruiser is on March 1, with test flights expected during late January and into February.

There'll be posts way back in this thread of me saying the same thing. It doesn't even have to be deluxe. Make an affordable family Hotel where different buildings of rooms and areas are themed to different planets. Have the Tatooine suites. Have the Hoth suites. Have the pool area with an AT-AT for shade with a water slide coming out of it. Have areas for meet and greets. The idea of in-depth theming and experiences got out of hand because that isn't what people care about. The average family looking at which Disney World Resort to stay at may simply decide on, "Thr one with the full-size X-Wing by the pool looks fun." As for deluxe. Next to it build The Naboo Palace Hotel. A place that even non-Star Wars fans would go, "that looks really nice, lets stay there."

Oh, look. Bait. 👀

"Able to watch people different from themselves..." You still really think that's the issue?

Tony the Tigger10 days ago

Agreed. Maybe they’ll do something like that at some point.

I think you can’t say what you meant, or it will get deleted. The “failed” Marvel TV character got excellent reviews, did a great job, and the show was unique and enjoyable for those who are able to watch people different from themselves without resentment. The movie was fun (!) and I would recommend it to anyone not hung up on, “Is this a girl movie?” type issues. The Wizard of Oz was a box office bomb. So? Next.

I’m really surprised by the missed opportunity here. I can’t help but wonder why they didn’t create a normal deluxe hotel based on Star Wars IP. You could still had the actors, but this could have been paid experience. A dinner show? More condense. Disney would actually saved more money and make more profits. Even if you didn't like Star Wars, Disney guests might have checked it out for the Space theme. You could have done a lot creativity with the pool or the bus stop to the parks.

I enjoyed the film. The villan was weak but that's the case for most Marvel films. Also not sure why you are posting about this in a Starcruiser thread?

I think you can work things out on your own. Here's an example The Marvels An inexperienced handpicked director + an unlikable lead + a failed marvel tv character + a shoehorned uninteresting marvel tv character + an unknown meh villain = A Box Office Bomb

Do explain.

There is so much truth to this, and far too many options to take the place that are close enough in quality or surpassing.

101% We have been arguing about this for 5-10 years around here…and If you said “I don’t know…this might not be the way to go…” …you were jumped on as archaic, immature, and a bigot in most cases. It was just reading the tea leaves. The world is flawed…and you can’t force people to evolve on a timeframe. They have tried…and they are losing untold billions from it. Not a good strategy at all

Snow Queen 8313 days ago

I think Disney has been using the worst strategy ever. There is no point in attacking fans and name calling, just because they don't like your bad product. It won't make them want to watch your future bad stuff anymore. They'll just say screw them I'll just watch "The Penguin".

Sirwalterraleigh13 days ago

As with society as a whole… …they started sending messages to the big fans that they weren’t good enough anymore. It’s a brutal lesson being learned by people around the globe right now

Disney has had a lot of missteps the past few years. They should probably go back to hiring the best person for the job, rather than whoever checks off the most boxes. How many bad Marvel and Star Wars movies and tv shows are we going to get. Heck Willow was so bad they erased it from existence. I can't believe what they've done with Marvel, how did they manage to derail that gravy train.
