McKim's Mile House DVC Lounge in Frontierland Concept Art

Disney Vacation Club Members will soon have a new place to relax at Magic Kingdom. Opening by summer 2025, McKim’s Mile House will bring a rustic retreat to the heart of Frontierland, offering a welcome break during a day at the parks.

This new lounge is the first DVC Member-exclusive space in Magic Kingdom and is inspired by the boarding houses that served travelers during the Gold Rush era. Its name pays tribute to Disney Legend Sam McKim, a Western film actor turned Imagineer, whose artistic vision helped shape many of Frontierland's most iconic locations.

McKim’s Mile House replaces the Frontierland Shootin' Arcade which closed earlier this summer.

What to Expect at McKim’s Mile House

McKim’s Mile House is designed as a cozy and convenient spot for Members and their guests to recharge.

Highlights of the lounge include:

Comfortable seating perfect for taking a break.
Complimentary soft drinks with Coke Freestyle machines available (personal cups not allowed).
Wi-Fi and charging cords available upon request, first-come, first-served.
A children’s entertainment area to keep kids engaged while parents relax.
On-site Member Services for assistance with DVC-related questions.

Location and Access

The lounge will be located in Frontierland at Magic Kingdom in the former Shootin' Arcade building.
Hours of operation are yet to be announced.
Access requires a valid DVC Membership Card and photo ID.
Members can bring up to four guests or the number of guests listed on their resort reservation.
Theme park admission is required to enter Magic Kingdom.

Important Policies

Strollers must be parked outside in designated stroller parking.
Children cannot be left unattended.
Members must accompany their guests at all times.
Reentry is not automatic and requires following the entry policy again.

Those venues should have never been shut down. By your reasoning Disney can shut any thing down reducing venues for paying guests and claim we will turn it into a DVC Lounge --we were just going to use it for storage.

"Reduce perks" My man... The Imagination pavilion was storage for chairs and tables before it became a DVC Lounge. The former Shootin' Arcade also would have held chairs and tables. What perk was reduced? You're whining about something that never would have happened. It was literally DVC or storage. Just be happy that there will be 100 less people in the park.

Anyone paying the outrageous Disney prices has an interest in Disney and deserves the same perks DVC people get. Nope lets reduce perks for non DVC people and raise prices

Many people are grandfathered in with fewer points than 150. And no one should buy direct solely because of the perks. The biggest of which atm is the ability to buy a Sorcerer’s AP. Not a new Member Lounge.

They really need to be reducing the 150 point requirement for membership extras. Where I have only bought resale, another $30K or so to gain these 'perks' is unrealistic.

As much as I will miss the shooting gallery because Disney has determined guns=bad, I think its DVCers do deserve perks as they are laying out BIG BUCKS and are literally invested in Disney through their DVC membership.

Well, that stinks. The Disneyland shooting gallery is largely responsible for stoking an interest in one of my favorite hobbies and past times.

Taking this onto the DVC forum instead. The trend of flipping resort rooms to DVC rooms is partly to ensure 95% occupancy of those rooms which were previously under-booked. And partly because the upkeep and upgrades to those rooms, plus part of the general resort running costs are then paid for by DVC members. Even in the case of Riviera, that replaced a section of CBR. The Cabins at FW needed replaced and creating a DVC resort with FW means the costs can then be passed over to DVC. In the case of the Poly, it’s adding capacity to the resort, and more of the running costs will be paid for by the DVC annual dues.
