Disney has announced that an extended room refurbishment project will begin in Bay Lake Tower at Disney's Contemporary Resort this September.

Disney advises that guests will see and hear construction work throughout Bay Lake Tower and to allow extra time for travel as alternate paths may be utilized.

The work is planned to take place from September 2024 to September 2025.

Bay Lake Tower at Disney's Contemporary Resort opened on August 4, 2009 and offers modern, deluxe accommodations and amenities, along with views of the Magic Kingdom.

I'd like to see some (refurbished) Studio pics, hopefully soon.

There is some carpet. The master bed room is carpeted, just the entryway and bath room are hard floors. And the pull down Murphy beds / couch sitting areas in has area rugs under and around them. There is a closet near the entrance of a 1 bedroom home in addition to one in the master. And now luggage easily fits under the bed. But me.... On vacs I now live out of my suitcase and just ask for an extra luggage rack so I can have the suitcase off the floor doubling as my dresser. I do love the Mary Blair style art work.... And also love it seems to be all MK inspired attractions and shows. I do wonder why the unit I booked didn't have any artwork in it...... Honestly it was gone when I got here. You can go check my car but that would be a complete waste of your time. Complete waste I tell ya, no need to check there, that's a detour that's just not needed, Absolutely no way the artwork would be there. :) But seriously, luggage storage issue aside, which is not an exclusive issue to these rooms, it looks nice and dare I say..... Disney.

The closets don’t look to have been altered. There never was a closet in the living room or the main part of the studios. They are in the master suite and hallway respectively. What’s been lost though is the drawer space in the living room.

I'm ok with this - no shoehorned IP, clean update with nods to classic Tomorrowland/Contemporary. I don't have high hopes for full scale theming with DVC, as evidenced by the Maui Hilton now standing next to the Poly longhouses - but on their current scale, I'm am not disappointed and happy to stay here soon.

Where are the closets? And there is almost zero storage, especially for the amount of people these are supposed to sleep. Still hate the bare floors, especially in the bedrooms. I do like the tiny amounts of color they've tried to use.

I would say Murphy bed couch could be bigger (like these) Also would have liked to see carpet in both bedrooms But other than that, i like it

I guess it's not dated anymore, but still seems so plain. But in all fairness, both old and new color motifs aren't my thing.

I'm mixed on this.

I agree 100%. If you book a Standard view room, you could request a room on the “outer circle of the C”. TPV rooms are nearly all on the outer circle; very few Lake View rooms are though. Not even sure if the room categories have changed for BLT.,

I’m not sure how much the 3 drawers will hold for 3 people for a 7-10 day trip. The ottoman would be an interesting place once we take out the extra pillow and blanket, but when you’re desperate to not have socks, undies and stuff for 3 people laying around it could be a place for someone’s shorts and shirts. We haven’t had the hall closet room, but we have had the laundry room at times. That would be our only choice if we were able to get a room with one.

There is still a small 3 drawer dresser, and the ottoman could be used. Pretty sure there’s a hall closet too, but then I second guess myself. Your best bet would be Theme Park view or a standard view on the outer side of the curve. That gives you the walk-in laundry room with lots of storage.

I agree. We were hoping for more—more towel racks in the bathrooms (especially the second one) and definitely more storage. We are usually 5 in a 1 bedroom. It may sleep 5, but it was very challenging to stay comfortably with the little room we had for storage. Now we can pile our clothes on the (smaller) table or live out of our luggage. I also miss the soft seafoam green color they used before.

The splash back tiles look very vibrant, and there’s a weird two tone wood effect in the living room - almost like they couldn’t find a unit of n the right colour so picked one that was “close enough”. The dining table doesn’t look big enough for 5, and I don’t see enough seating for 9 between the table and kitchen island (which not all rooms will have unless they redesigned them). I love the Mary Blair style artwork, that makes up for the removal of the Andy Warhol style pictures. And once again the under TV pull down bed means very little storage in the living room. Plus I am still not convinced that the pull down bed dimensions make it suitable for an adult - unless quite small. Definitely not someone anywhere near 6ft. That is my biggest gripe of all as an owner. IMO they’ve changed the 1-beds from sleeping 5 adults to 4 adults and a child. Which doesn’t meet our needs. ☹️
