Disney CEO Bob Iger has officially been recognized as an honorary knight. In a ceremony held at Windsor Castle on Tuesday, June 4, Iger, 73, received the prestigious title of Knight Commander of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire (KBE) from William, Prince of Wales.
Prince William, 41, presided over the ceremony, which celebrated various artists, politicians, diplomats, and humanitarians. Among the honorees was Oscar-winning film composer John Williams. The honors, initially announced in 2022, make Iger and Williams some of the final individuals to receive such titles from the late Queen Elizabeth II before her passing in September of that year.
In a post on X (formerly Twitter) in 2022, Iger expressed his gratitude, stating that the title was bestowed "by Queen Elizabeth II before she passed." He described it as "one of the great honors of my life," adding, "I have great affection for the people of the UK & have always appreciated and been inspired by their extraordinary contributions."
Iger's wife, Willow Bay, attended the Windsor Castle ceremony and shared her pride on Instagram, writing, "Truly an incredible experience and a proud family moment."
