If you're a Disney Annual Passholder, you want to be among the first to experience new attractions. With the upcoming previews for Tiana's Bayou Adventure at Magic Kingdom, you may have missed out on getting a Magic Kingdom park reservation which are all now at capacity. Don't worry! There's still a way for you to join the early previews.

Preview Dates and Current Reservation Status

Tiana's Bayou Adventure previews are scheduled for June 13, 14, 16, 17, 18, and 20. Magic Kingdom park reservations for these dates are at capacity, but there are still opportunities for Passholders without a Magic Kingdom reservation to participate.

Virtual Queue System

To join the Tiana's Bayou Adventure previews, Passholders need to join a virtual queue via the My Disney Experience app. The queue opens twice a day at 7:00 am and 1:00 pm. Here's how you can make it work without a Magic Kingdom park reservation:

  • 7:00 am Virtual Queue: This queue is only available to those with a Magic Kingdom reservation. If you don't have a reservation, this slot won't be accessible.
  • 1:00 pm Virtual Queue: This is your key to joining the preview without a Magic Kingdom reservation.

Steps to Join the 1:00 pm Virtual Queue

Park Reservation for Any Other Theme Park: Ensure you have a park reservation for any other theme park (Epcot, Disney's Hollywood Studios, or Disney's Animal Kingdom) on the day you want to visit Magic Kingdom for the preview. Note that you do not need to have entered a theme park to be able to request to join the virtual queue at 1:00 pm. Without a reservation at a park, you will not be able to join the virtual queue.

Join the Virtual Queue: The 1:00 pm virtual queue will be available to Passholders with a park reservation to any theme park for that day.

Preparation (12:50 pm):

  1. Open the My Disney Experience app.
  2. Navigate to the "Virtual Queues" section.
  3. Confirm your party members are correctly listed.

Execution (1:00:00 pm):

At precisely 1:00:00 pm, tap the  "Refresh' button, immediately followed by the "Join Queue" button. Both buttons are in the same position on the screen. Do not use pull to refresh as it is too slow.

Head to Magic Kingdom

In most cases, you must enter the theme park where you made a reservation before visiting Magic Kingdom.

Note that you can enter Magic Kingdom on June 13, 14, 17, 18, and 20 (weekdays) after 2:00 pm without visiting another park first. For the preview on June 16 (weekend), you must enter the park for which you made a reservation before park-hopping to Magic Kingdom.

After Securing a Place in the Virtual Queue

  • You will receive a notification in the app when it's your turn to
  • Once notified, you will have a specific time window to arrive at the attraction. Be prompt!

Important Tips

Plan Ahead: Make your park reservation for another park as soon as possible. Reservations can fill up quickly, especially during preview days.

Be Prepared: Ensure your My Disney Experience app is updated and you're logged in well before 1:00 pm.

Timing is Key: Be ready to join the virtual queue exactly at 1:00 pm; preparations should begin a few minutes before to ensure you are ready. Set an alarm or reminder to help you stay on track, and use another device, such as an Apple Watch, to precisely time your actions.

Preview is Not Guaranteed: Joining the virtual queue does not guarantee the ability to participate in the preview. Boarding groups for a virtual queue are limited, subject to availability, and not guaranteed. Not all boarding groups may be called to return based on the attraction's availability.

That's Mondo, making others look bad.....

The other frogs look incredibly cheap, especially in comparison to Mondo.

Mondo has 4 movements, the other frogs have 2 at most. Perhaps its because he's much larger than the others?

That's an insult to the artistry of Looney Tunes and the Warner Bros. cartoons. The Br'ers always gave me a "Warner Animation/MGM Studios" kind of vibe in how they're animated more expressively than the usual Disney fare.

It actually makes the new animatronics being mostly non functioning a lot of the time even more glaringly obvious because they have such limited movements anyway.

That's actually a really neat idea!!!!

Is it just me, or does Mondo look like a more advanced animatronic than the other "new" characters? I dunno, he just seems a bit more articulated...

I'd opine that they chose to leave the significant gaps, but that's just me.

The scenery and props were designed for the Disneyland space so they had to leave significant gaps for Disneyworlds longer flume.

Yes, there is little implied motion in any of these figures, or steps of figure. It's bad storyboarding.

The other issue I have with the animatronics on Bayou is that everyone is just standing/sitting firmly on the ground. There's no dynamic or interesting poses that allow for interesting animation. Splash had Br'er Rabbit jumping along the fence, Br'er Bear in the tree and thrashing around on his back, Br’er Fox springing up from the background, the Possum babies above the river hanging by their tails, turtles being lifted by geysers, the entire riverboat rocking back and forth... Everything on Bayou just looks so static in comparison. Edit - Forgot about Rufus the Turtle who bobs back and forth slightly. But it's still a very simple animation loop.

Curious enough I met Troy Landry at the Poly in 2020 while it was open just for DVC and diners. Nice fellow.

They also don't interact much with each other and are very self contained vignettes that don't build to anything. Think of the geese who's fishing line has nabbed another's hat, or the fish that jumps through the empty net. Think of the vultures looking at each other and finishing the other's sentence. Think of the rabbits commenting on the Brers chasing each other while a projection effect plays in the background. All of that is gone...and the heavier reliance of screens makes the new scenes look physically flat. The ride's soundtrack is doing the heavy lifting of giving life to the scenes, not their staging or animation.

Shelby would run them over with his boat so we escape over the falls!
