An Orange County judge has denied Disney's request to throw out the state lawsuit brought about by the Ron DeSantis-appointed Central Florida Tourism Oversight District.
In its motion to dismiss the case, Disney argued that recent actions taken by the state have rendered the litigation irrelevant. Disney also says that Florida law mandates the state court to put the lawsuit on hold until the company's federal case against Governor Ron DeSantis and the Florida Tourism Oversight District is resolved.
In a statement to Hollywood Reporter, Disney said, "Today's decision has no bearing on our lawsuit in federal court to vindicate Disney's constitutional rights, and we are fully confident Disney will prevail in both the federal and state cases."
