In an interview airing in full on CNBC this evening, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis comments on the ongoing feud with Disney and his latest position on the dispute.
DeSantis claims that "Disney's had a lot of problems," continuing, "I think that the skirmish they got in with these young kids. I think that's a symptom of why they're not doing as well because I think parents have lost some confidence that this is a company that's really speaking to what they want, the way it had been traditionally."
Speaking of the lawsuit that Disney filed against the Governor and the Central Florida Tourism Oversight District, DeSantis said, "we've basically moved on, they're suing the state of Florida, they're going to lose that lawsuit."
Asked what he would say to Bob Iger, DeSantis replied, "what I would say is dropped the lawsuit."
Disney claims in its lawsuit filed in a federal court that there has been "A targeted campaign of government retaliation-orchestrated at every step by Governor DeSantis as punishment for Disney's protected speech-now threatens Disney's business operations, jeopardizes its economic future in the region, and violates its constitutional rights."
