The vastly improved Walt Disney World dining reservation system is now live on the My Disney Experience app and the Walt Disney World website.
Now, with a single search, you can view available dining reservations for any restaurant for up to 10 days at a time. This new feature eliminates the frustrating process of manually scouring each day for dining availability.
Here is how it works:
You will see a new option called 'Check Available Days' when making a Disney World dining reservation.
You are then presented with a calendar to select a ten-day date range.
Next, you can see all the available times for every day of the ten-day date range selected in the previous step.
According to WDWMAGIC sources familiar with the upgrades, a another so-far unannounced feature coming soon will include availability notifications for fully booked restaurants.
Currently, guests have to manually keep checking for an opening or rely on a third-party service to do the work for them. The new notification system will send you an alert via My Disney Experience when a reservation opens up, and you will then be able to book it through the usual methods. However, the reservation will not be made automatically, so you may be competing with other guests who have set up availability alerts for the same restaurant and date.
