Disney's Hollywood Studios rolled out a new guidemap this week, which includes the park's latest additions.

New in this edition of the Disney's Hollywood Studios guidemap is Ice Cold Hydraulics, which opened recently on Grand Avenue near MuppetVision 3D. Also now included on the map is the Edna Mode Experience character meet and greet in Pixar Plaza.

I wonder how both TSMM (where the third track is) and MMRR utilize their buildings. Those with some inside knowledge I think have indicated that neither of those things fully use all the space. If so, I wonder where any unused space is and whether it could be put into better purpose.

If Pixar Plaza pathway went through the TSM building where the 3rd track is into a large indoor toystory/toybox themed play area that led into TSL that would be cool, but then youd have no 3rd track for TSM. Also would make the exit for TSM not a half mile long pathway and instead it would exit right into the toybox area.

Even just connecting the path here would help get rid of a dead end, seems poorly planed trying to squeeze galaxys edge in here.

This person I follow on IG seems to be in charge of designing the Hollywood Studios guide maps. Always interesting to see/read about their thought process.

I’m glad I’m not the only one, when I first saw the picture I thought it was boxes of cereal, it’s very generic.

Well, unlike other covers, it's certainly not.... busy?

aladdin2007Mar 08, 2024

I thought the same thing, why aren't they featuring an attraction in the park

Anyone think the front cover of the guide map is a little unusual? From a quick glance, it really doesn't look remotely like a theme park map.

If the space was better, a look inside the CGI animation process would be both on theme and really cool. Too many people don't realize the amount of effort that goes into (really good) CGI. Of course then you run into the issue that, unlike behind the scenes looks at 2D animation, unfinished CGI tends to look really ugly and Disney might not like having the marketable characters up on screens with no hair and potentially no clothes.

They could do more with that space though. Get creative. Could it fit a small spinner or bug’s life type ride?

Not sure what you're expecting. It's between two studio buildings used for MMRR and TSMM. Either it's open or its not.

Pixar Plaza is such a waste of a space. Wish they had urgency to fix the flow of DHS. Too many dead ends and wasted spaces…

We can probably assume that Pixar Plaza is temporary as an effort to accommodate more guests during the busy spring break period. It will probably close back up at some future point.
