AP holders get a discount at Starbucks?

beeNov 08, 2016

Sorry if this has been asked and I missed the answer (in which case, feel free to berate me ;)). Do I have to activate the pass by the January date to get 13 months, or can I buy it by that date and activate it at a later date and get the 13 months? Thanks!

Just to reiterate, this is accurate. Just got back yesterday and each time I asked about the discount, they asked for the yellow pass and my ID, including at Starbucks for the merch discount.

Thanks!

To clarify what you need to present to get Passholder discounts: https://disneyworld.disney.go.com/faq/passholders/cards-necessary-in-park/ Photo ID Yellow Passholder admission card with Mickey in an orange circle on the front Most WDW owned and operated locations will also accept a MagicBand with your pass on it as well as your photo ID. However third party locations usually do not accept the MagicBand since they can't scan or read it. To get a Passholder admission card, go to any Ticket Window or the Theme Park/Disney Springs Guest Relations. They are not mailed out.

I think MK will be our best option- outside of the park. We will be doing parasailing, sea Raycers, mini golf, 1900 PF, and GF cafe, and quick service at the GF (not quite sure how or where now that Gasparilla's will be closed) during those 2 days- all of which have an AP discount I think. I definitely would like to save a few $ if possible.

Not once when I used an AP room discount did I have to show my AP. If they do ask you should be able to return within 24 hours with your valid AP. But you don't need to go IN the park to get your AP. If you choose to go to the park to do it, they all have guest services windows available outside the turnstiles (but past security usually) where you can get your AP activated. Or you can get it done at Disney Springs at guest services there.

I've been there for previous Thanksgivings, 4th and Christmas NYE week. As nicely as I can put it, it is very crowded. Doing non park attractions might be less intense but I would anticipate the parks to at or near their highest levels. I've only purchased APs at Guest Services or TTC so I'm not sure about your split reservations. The Welcome Center is by far the best I've encountered but even with that I did wait 30 minutes.

Thanks for the info! Any idea of the crowds on Black Friday? We are having dinner at Narcoossee's and I planned on parasailing at Sammy Duvall's earlier in the day, if weather allows..and then Saturday we have a 1900 Park Fair brunch and will rent sea Raycers. I think all of those are applicable for an AP discount, so I would like to get it activated ahead of time... If the waits are too long it may not be worth it though. Does it have to be activated before our second "check in" on the 26th?

Double check me but I BELIEVE you can do this all at Disney Springs new Welcome Center in the Town Square area. The building is large, has couches and tables for guests waiting to be served (no lines, they find you) and enough to keep a young kid from squirming around. I know you can buy passes, convert multi day to annual passes there so likely activate. We also had one night not on the dining plan but it was on the fall break discount. We were assigned a different room for both reservations. At check-in the Cast Member made a call and arranged for us to stay in same room the entire stay. So I think it is automatic but often easy for a CM to make it happen. I'd ask at check-in

Ok, maybe I could go without a bag and bring him. Thank you!

Could be a minute - could be an hour. Just no way to tell until you get there. If you don't already know, it's located way on the far right as you are looking at the train station. You will have to go through the bag check, but not the "turnstiles". And why not take him with you? I'm sure he'd enjoy the monorail rides. Good luck!
