as @KLinder7 noted above, they opened the reservations today for our trip in april looking for some advice- my SIL booked this for us, but now we are realizing that we probably can't do fantasmic, so considering cancelling. has anyone tried going to fantasmic and just arriving at the party late? has it worked, or do we really need to cancel one or the other, we only have one night in DHS, and fantasmic is only showing once that night thanks for any advice you can provide

Hey All! I know not everyone loves the dessert parties but just noticed the Star Wars one in HS has been extended. Yesterday I could not book in April on the website or calling Disney, but this morning I could.

We attended the Symphony in the Stars Dessert Party last Saturday night and we had a blast! Disney has made some changes to this event based on feedback received from guests: there were more than enough tables and the new tablecloths were red and black (First Order theme). There is plenty of yummy desserts to snack on like scoops of Nutella frozen in liquid nitrogen with chocolate sauce on top. The drinks were also a good value. We could not stop drinking the First Order Finale drinks, so yummy! The cost for adults to attend this event is not cheap, but you will get your value out of it if you show up hungry and take advantage of the drinks at the open bar! The view of the fireworks from our table was excellent. This show is truly spectacular and features at least three new themes from TFA. I can't think of a better way to end a fun, Star Wars filled day at DHS! :geek:

Had the exact same experience in 2014. I would also add that people were not sharing tables and there weren't nearly enough for everyone so we ended up camping out on a trash can while we quickly gobbled down desserts that weren't worth going back for seconds.

I haven't checked every night but for each I've checked, yes. Certainly whenever Fantasmic! has one showing at 7 pm.

Nightly in January?

We did it for Symphony in the Stars at the 2014 Star Wars Weekend. Probably wouldn't do it again. It is expensive, the desserts are just ho-hum, and the view wasn't that spectacular. In fact, the dessert party viewing was way too close to the hat and stage and so you couldn't see the fireworks as well as someone further back might see them. It was enjoyable, but I felt as if I could've saved some money, picked up a Butterfinger cupcake from Starring Rolls, and enjoyed it better further back. Of course, the hat is now gone and the stage is different now, so it may not be as big of a problem. Unless, of course, the viewing area moves up and the theater blocks proper viewing of the fireworks.

The dessert parties are at 7 so fireworks at 8.

Seems a bit expensive to reserve a place to stand and watch fireworks...... but I reserved a night any way.

It looks like this is nightly through 12/30, then the New Years fireworks on 12/31. Does anyone know what January looks like?

The Star Wars Weekends dessert party was nothing to write home about either. For my money, the Wishes Dessert Party is still the best.
