Oh man I forgot the Tapestry of Nations parade, man was that a great parade. Oh and the 2000 wand was cool too(to bad it stuck around as the Epcot wand for far to long). Glad to see SSE back to it glory minus the darn wand again.
I was down in December of 1999 to see this man was this fun. The Tapastry of Dreams was fantastic, the Millennium Villiage was so fun and informative. I wish they had kept it so there would be even more contries represented for the World Showcase. It would be like having the Food and Wine Festival year around in a small way.
To this date, nothing has beatten the Millennium Celebration, and I've been many many times since then
its amazing becuase not only were we celebrating the millennium, but also to see how disney has really branched out and grew as time wewnt by, and its going to be around for a long time to come
Disney's celebration of the new millennnium in 2000 was a great thing. They had a lot of memerobilia marking the occasion and did a good job with the theming. Tapestry of Nations was added to EPCOT as were some other things. EPCOT seemed to be the center of the celebration and had done more things than the other parks. Overall, this was one of the best celebrations that I have witnessed at WDW.
Disney did this... beyond expressibility! The special events honored this as a world occasion that we should use to celebrate our common bonds and unity. It was about dreams and the possibility for the future - and not gushy at all. I've never experienced the kind of serenity I did at World Showcase during this. It makes me wanna be alive in 3000.
