We attended the Wishes Dessert Party for the first time November, 2013 and don't know why after 20 something trips, we have never done this! Outstanding!!! The desserts were just out of this world, the crowds not overwhelming, service very good and the fireworks... oh my the fireworks! The cost for three adults was $75 or so, and worth every penny. This has to be experienced!!!!
The only reason I did not give this review a 10 is because we were lucky enough to be seated right in the front near the rails (the best place to see the show) Unfortunately for me I am very, very short (4'9") so sitting in my chair I can not see over hardly anyone. Which is no problem because we were front and center, right? Wrong :( When the show started half of the people in attendance went straight for the rails! There was room for them to squat down and watch but most of them just stood. I could not see the castle at all. We were even featured on the castle and I missed it. (luckily we had friends in the park who recorded it for us) My husband tried to inform people I could not see but no one budged. Even standing I could not see. The desserts were great, our Photopass Plus pictures were great and had I been standing at the rails I believe this would have been truly magical. I feel Disney offering this Dessert Party is fantastic, I just wish they would ask people to stay in their seats or to be aware of others at the party.
I have been to WDW over 100 times since I was a child. Most nights were spent fighting the crowds on main street. While magical, it is tough. I didn't want to carry my kids on my shoulders to see or to line up an hour before the parade. The Wishes Dessert Party is the answer, we have done it the last 2 years and now my kids beg for it. Just check in, get some yummy desserts and coffee, and relax and enjoy the show. They even have Photo Pass photographers there. The price is not cheap, but not expensive. It is definately reasonable for what you get. The desserts are very good, not amazing, but good. What you are really paying for is to relax, eat snacks, and not fight the crowds. It was worth every penny. Plus you can exit into tomorrow land after the show.
If you hate waiting in a crowd of people to watch the fireworks this is perfect. From where I was sitting I was also able to see the parade. The view for the fireworks was great. The desserts were amazing. They had assorted tarts, chocolate cookies, soft ice cream. They had lemonade and ice tea for beverages. They also had assorted fruit which my mom enjoyed. Definitely doing it again for my next trip!!
Food was great, had no problem with the view.
This is a really nice dessert party, where you get to try all kinds of mini-desserts. There is a lot of good stuff, and this is maybe where it becomes a problem. You've paid quite a bit for the party, and so you feel compelled to eat a lot. Lots of sugar and sweet things may not turn out well for you later in the evening! The view of Wishes is OK, it's not as good as being in Main Street. I would say that the party is great if you've seen Wishes before, and you just want to have a nice change of pace, escape the crowds, and have some great desserts.
