Construction walls are now in place alongside Spaceship Earth's Project Tomorrow post-show area as work progresses on the entrance to the upcoming Spaceship Earth Lounge. The construction zone is located on the side opposite Guest Relations.

Inside Project Tomorrow—the post-show experience at Spaceship Earth—the usual exit pathway is blocked. All guests exiting the attraction must now use the side leading toward the World Nature neighborhood.

Disney has announced that the new lounge, inspired by the iconic design of Spaceship Earth, will open its doors in late spring 2025, just before summer. The lounge will occupy the former corporate lounge space that overlooks the World Celebration area.

The design of the new lounge will reflect the geometric sphere's inspiration, featuring rich textures and warm metallic tones. Disney describes the space as a relaxing area for families to gather and enjoy refreshments, with an ambiance aimed at providing a blend of mystery and elegance.

Thanks, as my Mom and Pops next door neighbors, for a few decades now, are Lebanese. My Pop used to work part time for them, after he retired from IBM, in their local liquor stores (among other gigs of his choosing) and will still work an occasional short shift for them…I’ll try to remember to thank them, next time I see them…!!! ;):)

I fully agree, and it's not really like the space could be repurposed for much else other than a reservation-only bar, considering capacity. Disney still produces non-upcharge experiences for regular day ticket guests, however I am starting to see - and worry about - how its becoming less common in comparison to the rising quantity of upcharge offerings in the Parks these days

It was never publicly accessible up there, i have never been able to go up there and i visit often.

No, and you can thank the Persians, the Macedonians (Alexander the Great), and the Romans for that. In all seriousness, while the Phoenician culture did not carry on, many believe that via DNA you can thank a modern day Lebanese.

I'm guessing more like Space 220. Don't need to pay to get in. Low capacity entrance. Big check amount.

The next ‘paywalled’ expereince, coming soon to the former place where anything was possible in the future…. 😑 -

Capacity was always going to be an issue. I expect it to be a by-reservation-only space.

How the hell will they handle capacity?

I’ve often thought of doing so, but does anyone here know where I can find a Phoenician to thank…?! 🤔:cyclops:

Got to learn a little more about this project recently. The entrance is indeed going to be on the east side where the walls currently are, which is strange to me because the old lounge entrance was on the west side. Apparently small parts of the old lounge won't return as a guest space and will be sealed off from the new lounge project. The new guest area is just what's visible in the concept art, the room right in front of the windows. The original west entrance will lead to a sealed off area, which I'm assuming will be repurposed as some kind of cast space to support the new lounge. Not really much of note other than that. If you've been up there before, expect it to seem a little smaller when you're up there next.

Surprising, those don't look like metal from up close, they've got almost like a stucco texture. Regardless, looks not great

If it's metal it can be polished, what did Rudy say? "Shining like a new penny in the sun"?
