Portobello at Disney Springs closing soon for major refurbishment

Portobello Country Italian Trattoria at Disney Springs will be closing at the end of April 23 2017 to begin a major refurbishment project.

Expected to reopen in the fall of 2017, the refurbished restaurant will reopen with an authentic Italian concept, including a family style menu along with craft Italian beers and wines

The new menu will be developed by James Beard Award-winner Chef Tony Mantuano.

Portobello is owned and operated by Levy Restaurants, who have recently opened the nearby Paddlefish in The Landing.

Looks like they avoided the big box set-up of so many other restaurants which make them too loud. I look forward to trying this out if especially if they can provide quiet dining.

I’m very excited for this. Tony Matuano is from the town I live in and besides executive chef of Spiaggia in Chicago (world-renowned), he owned a small trattoria in our town for years and it was amazing. This will definitely will be on our “to dine” list. PS: I’ve had the Pecorino chips at his restaurant they had here in WI, and they are AMAZING.

Reservations now available through MDE - made one for December. Availability appears to begin at the end of July. I would suspect opening will be some time before that as it seems WDW restauarant openings recently have not taken ADRs for an initial period of time
