Disney today revealed some new concept art of the upcoming Alien Swirling Saucers in Toy Story Land at Disney's Hollywood Studios.

You might recognize the ride as being a clone of Mater's Junkyard Jamboree from Disney California Adventure, but at Walt Disney World, the theme is aliens and flying saucers.

Disney describes the experience as, "Once the aliens have powered up their flying saucers, you’ll get to climb into a toy rocket and hang on as aliens lead the way on an interstellar romp set to an out-of-this-world beat. And if you’re really lucky, you just might get “chosen” by the claw!"

The ride in California has a 32" height requirement.

Alien Swirling Saucers opens summer 2018 at Disney's Hollywood Studios.

So we are back to where we started... this project has got to go down in WDW history as one of the longest for such a small return.

Yeah I know, but it was still called Pizza Planet with the logo. And it served pizza (I think the exact same pizza that it still serves now).

In name only, nothing about the theme was pizza planet.

Pizzerizzo used to be Pizza Planet.

I was really hoping for Pizza Planet, especially if Pizzerizzo closes.

Disney really hasn’t cut budgets after a project starts in a long time. Program gets cut to help cover costs elsewhere.

More proof that its probably cost them more money going back and adding this expanded seating with shade than cutting it from the budget when building the original land.

Any timeline on when this is supposed to be done?

Those big holes feel like new footings for *fingers crossed* some new type of canopy structure? But we'll just have to wait and see

BocabearOct 22, 2024

I thought this seating expansion was being worked on like a year ago..... Looks like we were posting about it in February of 2023.....And People think that Carsland and Tropical Americas are going to be opening in 2025? lol

Roundup Rodeo Barbeque is the sit-down restaurant and it's open. This is for Woody's Lunchbox, the land's quick service, which has way too few places to sit so they're adding some. Which is a good thing, but they announced it and put up the walls to start almost three years ago.

I guess I’m confused why they felt the need to rip everything up if all they’re going to do is install a canopy… they are installing a canopy, right??

I sadly thought this was done already. I should have known better.
