It's nothing new. Disney always did know how to get blood out of a stone. Anyway, it's way out of my price range.

Upcharge events are things that are offered for an additional fee. Not that prices have been added to something formally free.

Don't worry, Disney will solve that "almost the price of an AP" issue by raising the prices of APs. In fact the price of a regular AP is now $634.

Is anyone super excited to hear Jay Rasulo proudly announce on the next shareholders call 'parks and resorts spending was up... despite the stale product we offer, we completely conned people into buying BS experiences we probably should be offering anyway'.

A mere bagatelle, however my concern would be that replenishment of beverages wouldnt match consumption, for that reason Im out.

Actually, like others have said, if WDW can recoup a bit of their 2 billion dollar hole that MM+ left, then its a good thing, as long as it isn't affecting the regular guests

Things like this make me think of phone scams. Why do people still try and scam folks over the phone? Because some people still fall for it. If Disney offers it, someone will buy it. NOT ME! But someone.

Disney personally dusting out your wallet for you: priceless. All these "special events", after hours parties, special tours and even nighttime rentals of watercraft for special viewing locations has left me feeling like a huge sink hole has opened up under the magic. I really can't explain why it feels that way. Perhaps it's just a combo of everything they have going on.

$400?!!! Wow. Can't say I'm not surprised by Disney with this. They are only after $$$ anyways.

HakunamatataAug 16, 2014

Right, but the places a faux 1%er like yourself goes to makes you pay extra for the sides to begin with and only places the numbers on the left side of the decimal on the menu ;)

I mean, it sounds great, but the moment I saw the price I was like.. Yeah, that's almost the price of an AP... I would understand if it was priced at $150 maybe $200 due to the champagne and liquor, but $400?! That's a little too steep.

The regular, non VIP tours that don't throw in glasses of champagne and stuff are great. Keys to The Kingdom is the best, but for an EPCOT Center nerd 'Undiscovered Future World' is a fantastic tour that often is overlooked and only costs $64. I think many park guests aren't aware of the regular tours as they are not heavily marketed so they think these VIP events are the only way to see some of this stuff.
