Two pieces of Test Track reimagining news this week as work continues reimagining EPCOT's original thrill ride.

First, the exterior canopy structure has been completely removed, making way for the new, cleaner, sleeker exterior of the upcoming Test Track 3.0.

Progress continues inside the building as Walt Disney Imagineering has filed another construction permit. The latest permit is for electrical work to be carried out by Pro Sound, Inc., a Walt Disney Imagineering vendor based in Florida.

Consistent with previous permits for Test Track, this one carries the standard one-year expiration date, hinting that a summer 2025 opening is still a strong possibility.

Disney says Test Track will celebrate today's innovation while highlighting the past, present, and future.

The queue will feature six distinct exhibits, and within each room celebrate the vehicles – and people behind the vehicles – that push the envelope and help get people to our next chapter in our motion journey.

New show scenes will be added showcasing technological advances and how our lifestyles and relationships to mobility connect everyone. Enjoy a joy ride through scenes focusing on onboard technology, customization and personalization. Followed by a trip through a scenic outdoor route reminding us all of the joys of driving, taking in the world around us and spending quality time with friends and family.

I'm glad that new signage is coming to the new Test Track 3.0! Test Track Presented by GM! I can't hardly wait!

Just put some blue roof tarps on the top and call it good for another decade.

You are driving up a winding mountain road stuck behind an 18 wheeler. The highway finally straightens out and you pass the truck and floor it to let out your frustration!

Why are you sad?

Gosh that was an annoying show. Turned into a preview-fest by the end. But I'm not a huge fan of the original World of Color either. Haven't seen the other variations.

I’m surprised Disney hasn’t utilized more of their go-to celeb friends for voice overs and narration in the parks. Like is it only a matter of time before we get Neil Patrick Harris, John Stamos, or even Edward James Olmos in the park?

It wouldn’t surprise me. They had far less of a purpose in 2.0 than they did in 1.0, it wouldn’t take much to justify ripping them out for 3.0

If so, let’s hope they are clever with climate control. I feel like much of the ride is hot in the summer. It’s not as much a problem at unload because of the steep decline after the high-speed loops. Separately, I’d love a John Michael Higgins cameo on 3.0!

This isn't confirmed or anything but my dark horse speculation is they might get rid of the barricade walls on the power test. As I'm sure you know they were very hit-or-miss in 2.0's later years and internally there seems to be a strong directive on keeping the ride envelope of attractions completely unobstructed.
