Test Track Construction Update: Fresh Paint on Exterior Track, Entrance Still Under Wraps

Test Track refurbishment - February 12, 2025
Posted: Friday February 14, 2025 9:00am ET by WDWMAGIC Staff

Work continues this week on the new curved entrance area, which will replace the previous canopy.

One of the most visible changes this week is the painting of the exterior track sections at the front of the building.

There is still no sign of a new attraction marquee. The previous signage was removed as part of the refurbishment, and with Disney recently filing a permit for new signage installation, it’s only a matter of time before the updated branding is revealed.

Presented by General Motors, the reimagined Test Track is set to reopen in late 2025 with an updated queue, new ride scenes, and an enhanced focus on innovation, customization, and the future of mobility.

I guess we must be happy to have sponsors even if it means changes. When Disney loses a sponsor, sometimes they destroy and replace or simply shut it down.

1.0 was my favorite, but as long as GM sponsors it, it will get updates when new sponsorship contracts are signed.

I’m really starting to miss 2.0

They did say there would be six different exhibits in the queue that “celebrate the people behind the vehicles,” and that the ride would celebrate how transportation pushes us foward. But aside from that there’s been pretty much radio silence since august

Not really. They haven't really announced much about this, honestly. "Inspired by World of Motion" is about all we know, and then there's the one piece of interior art. (someone correct me if there's more I missed too)

You can see the slots for lights in the canopy. Looks they've kept the same canopy design from the concept art so far...
