Disney has provided a fresh update on the reopening timeline for the reimagining of Test Track at EPCOT. In a newly released press statement, the company confirmed that the attraction is now scheduled to reopen in late summer 2025.

NOTE: Disney issued a timeline correction on December 3 at 10:10 am, updating the opening from late 2025 to late summer 2025. The previous version of this article listed late 2025.

According to Disney, the reimagined Test Track presented by General Motors will offer guests a thrilling experience that celebrates over a century of mobility advancements. The updated attraction aims to explore the past, present, and future of transportation, blending storytelling and innovation to create a unique journey through the evolution of mobility.

The reimagining process is being led by Walt Disney Imagineering in collaboration with General Motors. The attraction will highlight more than 100 years of progress in automotive technology while pushing forward into the future with an emphasis on personalization, onboard technology, and sustainability.

Work on this next-generation Test Track is already underway, and updates have included permits for new set installations and enhancements to the show building. Disney has also teased new scenes and exhibits in the queue that will offer a deeper dive into the ingenuity behind automotive innovation.

Stay tuned for more updates as construction progresses toward the late 2025 reopening.

A giant sea serpent would definitely stick out

Maybe it will be a cameo like playing Universe of energy briefly before the big bang on Guardians.

One of my personal favorite attraction easter eggs.

Here's how you work the sea serpent into Test Track 3.0 - at one point, have the track go by a lake, and the sea serpent pops out of it. There. He was backstage somewhere in California Adventure for a while, but I don't know where he is now.

Oh?

I was today years old when I realized the sea serpent had an actual name. I had no idea. 😆

Would be pretty great if they repurposed the original figure, although I can’t remember whether he was thrown in a scrapyard or saved

First time I'm really noticing how pretty the building looks without the old canopy in front of it.

Yeah i could def see it being intrsumental, though i hope we get the lyrics. I assume that what most people want when they say “It’s fun to be free in test track 3.0” Disney as of late has a funny habit in their new rides of doing everything to try and please fans EXCEPT for the one thing they actually want and ask for (Facilier on the lift hill, No blood on the saddle return, putting Dinos in the Indy ride, closing muppetvision , figment’s…….everything over the past few years).

I don't think the entire ride is going to have it playing like it did in WoM but I could see it on ride, even if just an instrumental. There were already plenty of nods to it in TT 2.0, including it playing as a jingle at the MagicBand touchpoints. I'm fairly confident it'll be back in some form based on nothing but a gut feeling.

I don’t see it coming back in the same way as it was in WOM, More likely it’ll return as a background loop for the queue and/or post show

Disney does love its member berries. Would be a big pop from me. It’s funny that the most hyped i am for a thing right now is test track. Furthermore, i think LWTL and SSE should also get their songs back.
