Soarin' Around the World has returned to The Land pavilion at EPCOT this week, replacing the limited-time return of the attraction's original movie, Soarin' Over California.
The Soarin' Around the World movie is back without any changes, which means that the finale still includes the flight over EPCOT's now-defunct Future World.
Soarin' Around the World first opened on June 17, 2016, as a reboot of the original 2005 Soarin' attraction. It takes guests to six continents: the Great Wall of China, Sydney Harbor in Australia, Monument Valley, the Great Pyramids of Egypt, Switzerland's Matterhorn mountain, and the Eiffel Tower in Paris. Fans have criticized the newer version of Soarin' for its use of computer-generated imagery and heavily distorted lines of the Eiffel Tower.
Initially opened in 2005 at EPCOT, Soarin' Over California sent guests on a sweeping flyover above the Golden State for a birds-eye view of the rich landscape and topography. The original Soarin' Over California's first run at EPCOT ended on June 16, 2016, and then played again from September 22, 2023, through February 27, 2024, during Disney World's Disney100 Celebration.
