Disney Legend Josh Gad has taken to social media to express his concerns over the future of the beloved Muppets at Disney's Hollywood Studios. With recent announcements hinting at a new Monsters, Inc. Land potentially replacing the Muppets Courtyard, Gad's comments have added a significant voice to the ongoing discussion among Disney fans.

Gad, best known for his role as Olaf in Disney's Frozen franchise, posted on Threads today, stating simply, "The Muppets must be protected at all costs."

His support for the Muppets comes at a time when speculation is rife that MuppetVision 3D and its surrounding area could be on the chopping block to make way for the new Monsters, Inc. Land, which was recently announced by Disney Parks Chairman Josh D'Amaro.

The announcement of a Monsters, Inc. Land has been met with excitement, but it also raised immediate questions about where the new attraction would be built. Disney's Hollywood Studios, unlike other Walt Disney World parks, faces significant space limitations due to surrounding roadways and existing attractions. As a result, speculation has centered on two possible locations: Animation Courtyard and Muppets Courtyard.

While both courtyards have been presented as potential sites, recent information suggests that Muppets Courtyard is the frontrunner. This would mean the removal of MuppetVision 3D, an iconic attraction that has been a fixture at Disney's Hollywood Studios since its debut in 1991. The show, which was one of the last projects Jim Henson worked on before his passing, holds a special place in Disney history and the hearts of fans.

I wonder how long Muppet Vision has... it seems like a huge portion of this work could be done/started while keeping Muppet Vision operational. At least from the exterior, there seems to be minimal/no changes to the outside of the building itself and unless they are making major changes to the queue/theater itself, they could wait and close Muppet Vision ~12 months before the land itself opens...

It's not the same difference. That was the point of my post, Disney did know they were going to do this. The team (FAM) that is responsible for the upkeep of these attractions did not. It is not the same thing.

Same difference. Even Disney does not know what its going to do month to month.

I honestly have never really walked over to that section of the park, I had no interest in Muppets and there was really nothing else back there

That first building in the front left is the restrooms but what you have is basically correct.

So, what is the Grand Ave theater going to be since it's being shown in the concept art.? What are they looking at? Moving the Laugh Floor as well from MK to the Grand Ave theater???

I've tried to draw where everything currently is in Grand Avenue compared to the concept art

We’ve discussed this on here at nauseam. The team (Facilities Asset Management) that is responsible for maintaining the park, they have to just keep maintaining and updating as Disney does not tell anyone their plans until they are announced to the public. They replaced the carpet in Ellen’s Energy Adventure a month before it closed. It’s just the beast of running Walt Disney World. It doesn’t actually mean anything

Len, you just jinxed CoP. ;) Seriously, I love CoP, but I already know it will be destroyed eventually because that is what Disney does.

Personally,id love to see Muppet Vision move to where the Villains show will be. Maybe in like 2-3 years.. But my sleeper pick would be to put it into the Pixar Shorts theater at Imagination. A slightly modified version could work in there, and I feel like Muppets next to Figment isn't exactly a stretch

It turns out it was acutally a sign that Muppets was getting evicted as the theater is staying as it is, seats and all, but with a new show

Hmm, well, Country Bears gave us country versions of Disney song... so here we get rock/Muppet versions of Disney Songs? (horrible idea, yes, but I wouldn't put it past them)...

I wish they would bring a version of BIG BAND BEAT to replace BEAUTY AND THE BEAST. It just feels like the perfect fit for this park.
