Cast Members on Main Street U.S.A. at Magic Kingdom are now wearing the new costumes revealed last month.

Cast Members working at the main entrance tapstyles, Main Street U.S.A. parade control, and the Dapper Dans are now sporting a new look.

Disney says they keep function and comfort at the forefront of mind with lightweight, breathable fabric; they're also made from recyclable materials that help keep the environment in mind.

Here is a look at more of the costumes that will be debuting soon.

It’s a wonder that World Showcase still has so many, Epcot as a whole actually, but each pavilion in WS has at least 2- 5 d different costume styles

The “Disney Difference” 🤔

Hey, now. Those stocks won’t buy themselves back.

Not when there’s a dime to be saved

TrainsOfDisneySep 05, 2024

Which apparently isn’t enough since all the parks have seen a decline in variety and sometimes quality of costumes. I thought the company was all about diversity? Not in costumes! Ha

Each park has its own costuming location and budget

In many ways Walt Disney World is best understood as a cluster of competing businesses that just happen to share ownership.

It’s interesting the route they chose here as most new locations have more versatile costume options. MMRR, Galaxy’s Edge, even the Emporium costumes.

Crazy that satuli and pongu don't wear the same costume. You'd think that would be an easy starting point if they wanted to streamline. Instead of eliminating Casey's.

MagicHappens1971Sep 05, 2024

Yeah like ODV Cast are scheduled as ODV. There are certain locations that are grouped together where you may be trained at multiple locations, an example of this is Pongu Pongu & Satuli Canteen, the cast fall under the same leadership but are not always trained in both locations and don’t even wear the same costumes. It varies from location to location and park to park. Sometimes shifts are posted to be picked up internally or sometimes you may be deployed to another location but you would know in advance and pick up the costume yourself.

Scandal. How will I enjoy my meat-free dog knowing that?

SoFloMagicSep 05, 2024

Interesting. So cast would be scheduled to the specific restaurant, not just "main Street restaurants"? I would've thought the second would be easier for logistics and with the same costume would be feasible.

MagicHappens1971Sep 05, 2024

This doesn’t really happen. Some members of this forum like to think that things like this happen, but it’s very rare. Yes of course it is a possibility, but it doesn’t happen often. I’m sure those situation are not considered when making these costuming decisions

Does it also support ops by allowing cast to move around a bit more without changing to fill demand if there are call offs or issues?
