Disney has officially announced the name of its new show debuting at Disney's Hollywood Studios in the summer of 2025: "Disney Villains Unfairly Ever After."

This live entertainment experience, set to take place at the Sunset Showcase, promises to immerse guests in a thrilling and darkly humorous world led by some of Disney's most notorious villains.

The production will unfold within the Magic Mirror's mysterious realm, where the villains are ready to tell their side of the story. "Disney Villains Unfairly Ever After" will bring to life characters like Cruella de Vil, Captain Hook, and Maleficent in dramatic, high-energy performances as they break through the glass and take center stage.

This announcement comes as construction progresses inside Sunset Showcase, where Lightning McQueen's Racing Academy permanently closed earlier this year to make way for the new show. They already have that data and if they don’t they’re certainly not going to be getting it from this show.

6 years 😭 So painful to hear that out loud even though I know that is what is realistic.

I think this show is a test to see which villains are the most popular. The ones who get the biggest reactions will probably be spotlighted more around the land or will be featured on more merch when the land opens.

They certainly could be testing out concepts for entertainment in a land opening in 6 years. That in no way prevents them from designing and building spaces to house that entertainment sooner. You can build a theater before you know what, specifically, will be in there. This concept is a bit satirical. Does that style work? We shall see.

Who was saying that again? I know Len and Steve keep hinting at a third thing to close, but that didn’t carry a timeframe from my awareness. Animal Kingdom still seems like the overall laggard to me.

They’re already paying for design work. You don’t do the “proof of concept” after you’ve started sinking a bunch of money into the project.

So the show will have a good 6 or 7 year run at least....

It’s absolutely this.

Cars area will go first, probably simultaneously with some groundwork for Villains. But Villains will be later. 2029 if we are optimistic, maybe 2030/2031.

Isn't the land already being built?

Which I dont really understand. People have been clamoring for this for a while now. The first Villian's Unleashed night was packed to the gills and went over really well. Check it out: Thank you @marni1971 I didnt go to any of the subsequent ones, but from what I understand they were watered down and didnt go over near as well. Marie

Sounds like a testing ground for guests to see how popular the show will be prior to constructing Villains Land.

This is basically a small attraction that will both serve as a proof of concept for the Land, and wet the appetite for the full land. Most likely this is switched out after Villains Land opens.

So Disney Villians has a show in Hollywood Studios but the Disney Villians Land is in Magic Kingdom? I don't get it.
