Digital Road Signs at Walt Disney World
Posted: Wednesday January 25, 2023 12:43pm ET by WDWMAGIC Staff

Disney's roadway signage refresh continues around Walt Disney World, with digital LED signage now being installed.

So far, three digital signs have been installed, with one on E Buena Vista Drive near Fantasia Gardens mini golf and a second on World Drive near the Walt Disney World Swan Reserve.

It isn't clear what purpose they will serve, but the information displayed may relate to theme park operating status or roadway closures.

Elsewhere on the roads, Disney continues to replace more purple signs with the new blue and yellow color scheme unveiled last year.

All of us Toys "R" Us kids grew up real fast that day. 😔

Shoot, totally right. Noticed it on my way back yesterday. Sorry for the false alarm - that would be a quick fix by anybody's standards!

This makes me wonder if the large sign on I-4 how it is now when your leaving Disney somewhere after SeaWorld or Before. That sign got smashed too 😴 but less surprising as this.

I still think it was a mad max style vehicle like pictured below. The turret came into contact with the sign and was sheared off. The family then proceeded to the wilderness campground and enjoyed their vacation only noticing the missing turret the next morning. Ok… I’m done being weird now.

Something that extends makes sense since anything that tall would/should have been an oversized load on a pre-planned route.

My theory was that they backed up and turned around across the median, but this is also entirely plausible.

I imagine that after hitting the sign the truck stopped. I assume it was a truck with some kind of boom in the back and they didn't secure the boom in the lowered position.

It is weird. Maybe the sign ripped off whatever would have come into contact with the overpass?

This is not true. You must have been looking at a different sign, because as of today the sign is still not fixed and looks the same as the photo from @DCBaker
