More details on the music of EPCOT's Harmonious nighttime spectacular

With less than a week to go before the debut of Harmonious at EPCOT, we have some more details about the show's music and its performers.

Harmonious features 15 songs in 13 languages from 240 artists, recorded in 110 recording sessions across 9 countries.

"Music is the heart of any celebration, and Disney music touches people's lives through powerful melodies and memorable lyrics that are inspiring — in any language," said Steven Davison, executive creative director, Disney Live Entertainment. "The driving force of 'Harmonious' is the music, featuring voices of the world coming together to share in timeless Disney songs."

"Harmonious" opens with an inspiring medley of "How Far I'll Go" from "Moana" and "Go the Distance" from "Hercules" performed by "American Idol" finalist and three-time GRAMMY® nominee Danny Gokey, along with vocalists Elisha Garrett and Ninet Tayeb.

The Ndlovu Youth Choir from Johannesburg contributes a medley of favorites from "The Lion King," performed in both English and Zulu.

"Dig a Little Deeper" from "The Princess and the Frog" features vocalist Bryson Camper and legendary gospel artists Karen Clark Sheard and Kierra Sheard.

French pop singer Damien Sargue performs "Out There" from "The Hunchback of Notre Dame."

Songs from Disney and Pixar's "Coco" get a rousing pan-Latin sendup from award-winning Puerto Rican artist Luis Fonsi, responsible for several global hits including "Despacito," and award-winning Mexican singer/songwriter Joy.

Disney and Pixar's "Brave" receives a Celtic kick from GRAMMY®- and Emmy®-nominated violinist Máiréad Nesbitt and platinum-selling electronic artist, violinist and multi-talented entertainer Lindsey Stirling.

Musical selections from "Mulan," "The Jungle Book" and "Aladdin" are highlighted by the vocal talents of Wang Liuqi, Hollie Hammel, Aditya Rao, Gaayatri Kaundinya, Jorgie Shkara and Sanaa Marahati.

As it draws to a close, the inspiring ballad "Someday" (from "The Hunchback of Notre Dame") combines with the new EPCOT theme from composer Pinar Toprak.

Officially opening on October 1, guests' first chance to see Harmonious will be during a preview on September 29 2021, which Disney will live stream.

I think the next show name should also sound like Luminous, harmonious, illuminations, festivus, fireworkious - so we At some point just give up and call it The Epcot show

Luminous got the perfect balance for its projection infrastructure. The Illuminations globe was too small that you couldn't see what was going on, whilst Harmonious had the giant tacos that couldn't be moved and also needed to be viewed dead center to be fully experienced. Luminous is right in the middle in that you can see the projections but the floats can be moved backstage

I am not of the opinion that IluumiNations was the epitome of fireworks shows. It had issues of pacing and visibility... And less fireworks. While I hate that Luminous includes You Got a Friend, it's a nice mix of new and well-known songs. It's visibility around the Lagoon or standing behind a crowd is great.

Luminous feels like it’s trying to be Harmonious 2 (which in itself was essentially HEA) while trying to capture some drops of RoE’s essence. It’s better than Harm, but the lot of successors are all a far cry from IllumiNations

IMO I just think HarmonioUS feels more like it has 5 years on it's lifespan before they end it..Unless by 2032 For IllumiNations 50 we at least would see something amazing.

I believe it's all about concept. IROE was a story of how we came to be and what we have become, and possibly what our future could be. Everything else IMHO is just a low brow movie soundtrack sing-along. To me, once you leave the true story telling that was the concept of IROE and Epcot, it will be very hard to go back.
