According to the Walt Disney World refurbishment calendar, the Hall of Presidents at Magic Kingdom is scheduled to temporarily close for refurbishment starting January 20, 2025. While Disney has not provided a specific reopening date, the closure aligns with the traditional practice of updating the attraction following the inauguration of a new U.S. president.

This refurbishment may include the addition of a new animatronic figure representing President Donald Trump, reflecting his return to the presidency in the 2024 election. The Hall of Presidents, which features lifelike animatronics of all U.S. presidents, has historically closed for updates following each inauguration. Most recently, the attraction closed on January 20, 2021, to add President Joe Biden and reopened on August 3, 2021. During Donald Trump’s first term, the Hall was closed on January 17, 2017, and reopened on December 18, 2017.

The Hall of Presidents has been a staple of Liberty Square in Magic Kingdom since the park’s opening in 1971. The attraction’s combination of history and advanced animatronics provides guests with an overview of the American presidency, highlighting moments of unity and leadership throughout U.S. history.

Disney has not announced whether the current refurbishment will follow the tradition of giving the sitting president a speaking role or whether the format of the show might be adjusted in response to evolving guest expectations. Past closures for updates have typically lasted between six and eight months, although the exact duration can vary based on the scope of the refurbishment.

Bus driver told me these were being brought over from Mission Space as a temporary solution for HOP:

All they need is a Time Machine to go back to before the internet existed.

Say it was closed due to a "Five Nights at Freddy" situation.

Honestly I think that would be the smartest option if they were to close HoP silently. Just claim the refurb keeps going longer and longer and eventually just say "Yeaah, it's not coming back, sorry"

CLAMS with HAMMERS?! Holy crap, even Disney's contruction signs used to be better than they are now!

HoP wouldn't be the first attraction to disappear while undergoing "refurbishment"...

I still think if the show was going away the facade and signs would have been covered up or removed by now and the closed for refurbishment sign would not state Hall of Presidents on it either. Its coming back in some form.

Yeah it’s probably gonna stay the same. We all think it will but I think because of real world events, Disney honestly is stuck for a good long while with this ride. Might as well get comfortable with it. The “nothing ever happens”-off that stitch, figment, and HoP are currently in will continue for a while.

They probably won’t give him a speech this time around, since President Biden didn’t get one.

I think they will have to AI the speech, I can't see him recording it this time

My fix: Same as always, but when Polk's name is called the room erupts in a rousing version of this song: After which we're told we're out of time and curtain closes.

We will find out when it opens a year from now ;)
