Imagineer Zach Riddley has taken to Instagram to explain more about the Galaxarium - the first scene at EPCOT's 'Guardians of the Galaxy Cosmic Rewind.'

The plantarium-like exhibit is where the attraction begins, and it offers a 30 minute long show in the queue area - including some nods to EPCOT's history.

Zach said:

As you may have seen, earlier this week we were able to invite a small group of guests to Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind at EPCOT for a sneak peek of the Galaxarium inside the Wonders of Xandar pavilion. This is our first scene, where the story of EPCOT and the story of Xandar come together, and set us up for our grand adventure. It has been incredible to see this space go truly from sketch to reality over the past several years. Walking this breathtaking “space” is a reminder of the hard work and passion our team of Imagineers have devoted to bring this first-of-its-kind experience to EPCOT.

Building off the legacy of EPCOT as a place where discovery and curiosity comes to life, The Galaxarium is a planetarium-like exhibition where Guests will first be introduced to Xandar and the many similarities we share with our Xandarian visitors. This over 30-minute show begins to touch on both planets and how the Xandarian galaxy, the Andromeda Galaxy, is similar to our own, showcasing the real science behind the formation of galaxies and solar systems. As you make your way through the Galaxarium, you’ll be able to glimpse the Xandar Gallery ahead… where we will learn more about Xandar and its people, protectors, and heroes!

This space is really dynamic, organized around a radial grid where Guests rise an entire level with sinuous ramping, allowing you to take in the media on the dome above from many vantage points. The lighting and architectural elements echo the color and aesthetic of Xandar and give a great mood to our first act of this attraction. I cannot wait for Guests to experience this space for themselves, and all that awaits beyond - including some wonderful nods to EPCOT history that I know our favorite EPCOT fans will enjoy.

Probably worst case scenario. BG 40 is usually called around 10:30am, so typical return window ends at 11:30am. But they don't enforce return windows anyways, so it's just all semantics lol.

I have BG 40 and when they called me this morning the app said to return by 2pm. I wonder if it's going to close early today. If not why did they choose 2pm?

Possibly a mistake, but they just called 79 BGs in a span of 8 minutes during the initial wave at park opening at 8:45am. ^my phone clock is central time fyi

Hopefully I won't need it, but expect to be hearing from me otherwise!

If it isn’t, I’ve figured out the trick to pretty much guaranteeing a boarding group if you need it

Probably because GotG doesn't actually spin. It's turned and held in place so when you spiral down you're always facing the planet, for example.

Yes. By July 2031. 😁

Anyone have any idea as to whether this will be off Virtual Queue by July? It seems crazy for it to remain on VQ for so long.

You're lucky. My experiences on GotG have gone downhill. First ride in September 2022, I felt OK after riding. Every subsequent ride has resulted in my feeling increasingly nauseous, with the noted exception of my last ride where I basically closed my eyes after launch and entering the gravity building. I have no desire to ever ride it again because A) what's the point in riding something just to have to close your eyes to not be sick, and B) it's.... not that good to begin with. :cautious:

Same for me except reversed. I was a tad bit nauseous after crush but with GotG I am fine. At least now I am. The first time or two on GotG I did get disorientated during the launch but after a couple of runs this no longer happens.

HauntedPirate28 days ago

They felt totally different to me, except for the nauseous feeling after exiting the ride vehicle. Which quite honestly was much less after riding Crush than GotG, despite a much higher amount of actual spinning vs. the forced turning.

Blasphemy! 😂

I gotta say….. I just rode the crush coaster at Disney studios and it felt just like cosmic rewind. Like to a crazy extent. Not sure if that price tag was worth it haha.
